년생 및 재배조건이 인삼의 엽형에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Plant Age and Cultural Conditions on Leaf Shape of Korean Ginseng)

  • This study was conducted to know the influence of plant age and cultural conditions such as plant population density and light intensity under the shading on the leaf shape of panax ginseng. The result obtained were as follows; 1) Leaf length(L)/maximum width(W) was no difference with different age of over 3-over 3year old plant, but that of 1 or 2-yearold was smaller than those of over 3-year old. The values of L/W showed in the order of 2 or 4,3, 1 or 5 leaflet. 2) Ratios of leaflet area to leaf area were 32.0% in leaflet 3, from 209.% to 27.9% in leaflet 2 or 4, and from 6.5% to 7.1% in leaflet 1 or 5. 3) The coefficients of variability for L/W and ratio of leaflet area to leaf area of leaflet 3 were smallest among leaflets. 4) There were significant differences between largest and smallest leaflet 3, leaf areas and ratio of leaflet 3 area to leaf area in same plant. 5) LW and ratio of leaflet 3 area to leaf area were not affected by plant population density. 6) It showed a tendency that the L/W was increased with increasing the light transmittance rate (LTR). The ratio of leaflet 3 area to leaf area of ginseng grown under 20% LTR was not different comparing to that of plant grown under 5% LTR, but it was significantly increased in plant grown at 100% LTR.

산양삼 연근별 생육특성과 진세노사이드 함량 간의 상관관계 연구 (Study on the Correlation between the Ginsenoside Contents and Growth Characteristics of Wild-simulated Ginseng with Different Year-Roots (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer))

  • 본 연구는 7년, 13년근 산양삼의 생육특성과 진세노사이드(G) 함량 간의 상관관계를 구명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 6개소의 산양삼의 생육특성을 조사한 결과, 뇌두길이, 뿌리길이, 생중량, 단면적, 표면적, 부피에 있어 13년근 산양삼이 7년근 산양삼에 비하여 유의적으로 높은 것을 확인하였다. 진세노사이드 11종에 대한 함량은 G-Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd, Re, Rf, Rg1, Rg2 함량이 13년근 산양삼이 7년근 산양삼 보다 유의적으로 높은 수치를 확인하였다. 또한 산양삼과 인삼(재배삼) 진세노사이드 함량을 비교한 결과, 13년 산양삼에서 G-Rb1, Rd, Re, Rf, Rg1이 4년, 5년근 인삼(재배삼)에 비해 유의적으로 함량이 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 산양삼 연근별 생육특성과 진세노사이드 함량 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, G-Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd, Re, Rf, Rg1, Rg2 함량은 뇌두길이, 생중량, 단면적, 표면적, 부피와 유의정인 정의 상관관계를 보였으며, G-Rb1, Re, Rf, Rg2는 줄기직경과 부의 상관관계를 확인하였다. 본 연구는 산양삼의 7년근과 13년근을 대상으로 생육특성과 진세노사이드 함량 상관관계를 구명함으로써 연근에 따른 품질규격 정립에 유용한 정보를 제공 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • Specific activities of ADC and ODC from 2-4 year old ones were higher than that from seedlings whereas those activities were not changed significantly from 2 to 4 years. Generally, activity of ADC was predorminant compared to that of ODC. Free arginine content in roots was much higher than that of leaves. And arginase specific activity from roots was higher than that of leaves. Cumulative results suggest that putrscine formation from ornithine in roots may be more effective than leaves and contribute to putrescine biosynthesis to some extract.

  • Ginseng, Vitamin, and both were given to six-year-old children for three months to know effects of the drugs on the physical growth of the children. 1. Frequency of children's sickness was in order of vitamin plus ginseng, ginseng, vitamin alone and control groups. 2. Height, circumference of chest and weight of children were increased in order of vitamin plus ginseng, ginseng, vitamin, and control groups. 3. Ginseng, as compared with vitamin increased the children's growth, especially their weight and the circumference of chest.

High-performance liquid chromatography analysis of phytosterols in Panax ginseng root grown under different conditions

  • Background: The Panax ginseng plant is used as an herbal medicine. Phytosterols of P. ginseng have inhibitory effects on inflammation-related factors in HepG2 cells. Methods: Phytosterols (e.g., stigmasterol and ${\beta}$-sitosterol) in the roots of P. ginseng grown under various conditions were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography. The P. ginseng roots analyzed in this study were collected from three cultivation areas in Korea (i.e., Geumsan, Yeongju, and Jinan) and differed by cultivation year (i.e., 4 years, 5 years, and 6 years) and production process (i.e., straight ginseng, red ginseng, and white ginseng). Results: The concentrations of stigmasterol and ${\beta}$-sitosterol in P. ginseng roots were 2.22-23.04 mg/g and 7.35-59.09 mg/g, respectively. The highest concentrations of stigmasterol and ${\beta}$-sitosterol were in the roots of 6-year-old P. ginseng cultivated in Jinan (82.14 mg/g and 53.23 mg/g, respectively). Conclusion: Six-year-old white ginseng and white ginseng cultivated in Jinan containing stigmasterol and b-sitosterol are potentially a new source of income in agriculture.

인삼의 엽장, 엽폭을 이용한 엽면적 추정 (Estimating Leaf Area from Length and Width for Panax ginseng)

  • 인삼의 소엽, 장엽, 식물체 전엽면적의 간역추정방법을 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6년생 인삼엽을 이용하여 조사하였딘 바 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 엽면적과 엽장(L)$\times$엽폭(W)이 소엽위치 및 년생에 관계없이 모든 소엽에서 상관계수가 가장 컸다. 2. 1매의 중앙소엽으로 장엽면적, 식물체 전엽면적 추정이 가능하였으며 추정식은 1년생과 2년생이상과 달랐으나 2연생이상에서는 그들간에 차이가 없었다. 3. 엽면적계산식은 1년생에서 중앙소엽면적 A=0.64LW, 장엽면적 A'=A/0.38, 2년이상에서 A=0.60LW. A'=A/0.32, 주당엽면적 A"=A'$\times$장엽수였다. 4. 20% 투광하에서 생육한 인삼의 엽면적 추정도 관행일복하(투광량 5%)에서 자란 인삼엽에서 유도된 식으로 가능하였다.능하였다.

해가림 투광 정도에 다른 인삼의 생육 특성 (Growth Characteristics by Shading Rates in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer)

  • 인삼포의 관행해가림 (볏짚피복, 투광율 3%)과 개량해가림(P.E. 차광망피복, 투광율 10%)의 해가림간 인삼 개체군의 군낙구조를 비교하기 위해서 년근별 (2, 4, 6년근), 재식위치별, 높이별로 엽면적, 비엽중(S.L.W,), 경엽의 건물중 및 조도의 분포를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 투광률(지상 40cm부위)은 2년근에서 관행해가림은 전행이 3%, 중간행이 2%, 후행이 1.5%였으며 평균 2.2%로 행간에 차이가 심했으나, 개량해가림에서는 전행이 12%, 중간행이 10%, 후행이 8%였으며 평균 10%로 투광률이 증가되어 행간의 차이가 근소하였다. 4, 6년근에서는 관행해가림의 광환경이 더욱 악화되었으나 개량해가림에서는 수광량이 행간의 차이가 근소하였다. 2. 2년근에서 재식위치별로 엽면적, 비엽중, 경 및 잎의 건물중 분포는 관행해가림과 개량해가림간에 차이가 근소하였다. 3. 4년근에서 재식위치별로 엽면적, 경, 엽의 건물중 분포가 관행해가림에서는 전행 및 중간행부분에 많이 분포되고 후행쪽은 적은 반면, 개량해가림에서는 행간에 차이가 적고 고루 분포되었으며 이러한 경향은 6년근시에 더욱 심하여 통로쪽의 지상부 건물중이 관행해가림은 개량해가림보다 현저히 증가하였다. 4. 근수량은 개량해가림이 관행해가림에 비해 28%증가되었으며, 재식위치별 근수량 지수는 관행해가림은 전행인 1∼2행이 높은 반면 개량해가림은 5행을 제외하고는 각행 고르게 분포되었다.

  • Background : Ginseng is mainly grown as a break crop in paddy fields after rice has been cultured for approximately 4 - 5 years, because it reduces the negative effects of continuous rice cropping. However, physiological disorders, such as leaf discoloration, occur in ginseng grown in paddy fields with poor drainage and excessive levels of inorganic components. Methods and Results : This study investigated the effect of ridge height on the growth characteristics and yield of 6 year old Panax ginseng. Ridge height was varied by making 20, 30, and 40 cm high ridges in a pooly drained paddy field. Soil moisture content decreased, while electrical conductivity (EC) as the ridge height increased. The $NO_3$, K, Ca, Mg, and Na levels also rose as ridge height increased, but organic matter and $P_2O_4$ levels did not. The leaf discoloration ratio rose as the ridge height increased, and root yield reached a peak when the ridge height was 30 cm. Conclusion : A ridge height of 30 cm in poorly drained paddy field improved ginseng growth by reducing leaf discoloration and increasing root survival, owing to more suitable soil moisture and EC levels.

장뇌삼과 재배삼의 ginsenoside 함량과 항산화활성 추정 (Ginsenoside Compositions and Antioxidant Activity of Cultured and Mountain Ginseng)

  • 국산 재배삼 4년근의 뿌리, 장뇌삼 4년근과 8년근의 잎과 뿌리에 대한 물 및 80% 에탄올 추출물에 대한 구성사포닌 및 항산화 활성을 분석하였다. 재배삼 80% 에탄올 추출물에 대한 조사포닌 함량은 3.85% (d.b) 이었으며, 4년근 장뇌삼 뿌리와 잎의 조사포닌 함량은 각각 6.75 및 8.57% (d.b)이었으며, 8년근 장뇌삼은 각각 6.53 및 7.54% (d.b)이었다. 재배삼의 구성사포닌은 ginsenoside-$Rh_1$의 함량이 6.07 mg/g으로 가장 높았고, 4년근 장뇌삼뿌리는 $-Rb_1$이 11.63 mg/g, 잎은 -Re가 24.35 mg/g으로 가장 높았고 8년근 장뇌삼 뿌리는 $-Rh_1$ 이 19.77 mg/g, 잎은 -Re가 20.43 mg/g으로 가장 높았다. 항산화활성 ($IC_{50}$값)은 삼의 종류 및 연근별로 1.84~21.88 mg/mL의 범위이었고 8년근 장뇌삼 잎 80% 에탄올 추출물에서 가장 높았다. 총 항산화력은 5.56~20.67 mg AA eq/g의 범위를 나타내었으며, 8년근 장뇌삼 잎 증류수 추출물에서 가장 높은 값을 나타내었다.

인삼의 부위별 식이섬유소 분포 및 조성 (Distribution and Composition of Dietary Fiber in Various Parts of Ginseng Root)

  • Six-year-old ginseng roots were divided into rhizome, main root (epidermis, cortex and xylem) and lateral root (big tail root, mid tail root and fine tail root) and the concentration levels of soluble dietary fiber (SDF) and insoluble dietary fiber (IDF) in each part of the ginseng were investigated. The amount ratios of SDF to IDF (SDF/IDF) in various parts of the ginseng root were also compared. The concentration levels of SDF and IDF in the ginseng root were 6.56% and 15.41 %, respectively, where the level of SDF in main root was a little higher than that of lateral root. However the amount of IDF in main root was lower than that of lateral root. The SDF/IDF was highest in main root, 0.513, which was higher than that of lateral root or rhizome. The SDF/IDF was 0.704 in xylem, 0.478 in cortex, and 0.099 in epidermis of the main root and the SDF/IDF was 0.576 in big tail root, 0.463 in mid tail root, and 0.255 in fine tail root of the lateral root. It has been reported that SDF might have preventive effects on diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, colon and rectum cancers, while IDF might have preventive effects on constipation. Therefore, main root of six-year- old ginseng root is thought to have a little different physiological activity from lateral or fine tail roots.
