IPCC 제5차 과학평가보고서 고찰 (In-depth Review of IPCC 5th Assessment Report)

  • The IPCC 5th Assessment Report (Climate Change 2013: The Physical Science Basis) was accepted at the 36th Session of the IPCC on 26 September 2013 in Stockholm, Sweden. It consists of the full scientific and technical assessment undertaken by Working Group I. This comprehensive assessment of the physical aspects of climate change puts a focus on those elements that are relevant to understand past, document current, and project future of climate change. The assessment builds on the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report and the recent Special Report on Managing the Risk of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation. The assessment covers the current knowledge of various processes within, and interactions among, climate system components, which determine the sensitivity and response of the system to changes in forcing, and they quantify the link between the changes in atmospheric constituents, and hence radiative forcing, and the consequent detection and attribution of climate change. Projections of changes in all climate system components are based on model simulations forced by a new set of scenarios. The report also provides a comprehensive assessment of past and future sea level change in a dedicated chapter. The primary purpose of this Technical Summary is to provide the link between the complete assessment of the multiple lines of independent evidence presented in the main report and the highly condensed summary prepared as Policy makers Summary. The Technical Summary thus serves as a starting point for those readers who seek the full information on more specific topics covered by this assessment. Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, sea level has risen, and the concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased. Total radiative forcing is positive, and has led to an uptake of energy by the climate system. The largest contribution to total radiative forcing is caused by the increase in the atmospheric concentration of $CO_2$ since 1750. Human influence on the climate system is clear. This is evident from the increasing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere, positive radiative forcing, observed warming, and understanding of the climate system. Continued emissions of greenhouse gases will cause further warming and changes in all components of the climate system. Limiting climate change will require substantial and sustained reductions of greenhouse gas emissions. The in-depth review for past, present and future of climate change is carried out on the basis of the IPCC 5th Assessment Report.

조선왕조실록(朝鮮王朝實錄)에 기재된 Kepler초신성(超新星)의 관측기록

  • Wangjo Silok, the official chronicle of Lee Dynasty, carries 131 records on the Kepler Supernova 1604; all of them are given in the present report. Among them 112 records are detailed descriptions about the observed brightness variation over the period from October 13, 1604 (the 37th year of King Sunjo) to April 23, 1605. On July 14, 1605, an addendum is given as a final assessment of the guest star incidence. Since the apparent brightness, size and position are carefully described as compared to bright planets and stars, these records are ideal for retrieving light curve of the Kepler Supernova over the seven month period. Simple procedures are suggested for the derivation of light curve.

초등학교 '물체의 속력' 단원 수업에서 교사와 학생이 느끼는 교수.학습곤란도 분석 (Analysis on the Degree of Difficulty in Teaching and Learning the 'Speed of Objects' Chapter)

  • The first purpose of this study is to distinguish difficult chapters in 'Speed of objects' chapter and find the factors which give difficulty to the teachers and students. Also, it attempts to compare the students' assessment scores with the degree of difficulty in teaching and also with the degree of difficulty in learning. This report is expected to help science teachers develop their PCK(Pedagogical Content Knowledge) for teaching the chapter professionally. 15 teachers who had taught the 'Speed of Objects' chapter and their 386 students took part in the survey to acquire information about the difficulties in teaching and learning. 386 students also received a test to examine their understandings of the chapter. The results of this study are as follow; First, the degree of teachers' and students' difficulty is only affected by the contents, and the degree of onerousness felt by teachers is higher than that of students. Second, The topics caused higher difficulty to teachers were 'Understanding the meaning of motion(2nd lesson)', 'Understanding the meaning and unit of speed(5th lesson)', 'Changing unit of speed(6th lesson)', 'Drawing a distance-time graph(7th lesson)', and 'Understanding the relative motion(10th). The topics that led higher difficulty to students were the contents of 5th, 6th, and 7th lessons. Third, the 'Speed of Objects' chapter can be divided into 4 types of difficulty according to the degree of teaching and learning; 'Strong difficulty', 'Learning difficulty', 'Weak difficulty', and 'Teaching difficulty'. Last, students showed low achievement to the tasks that were related with 'Strong difficulty' and 'Teaching difficulty'.

HSPF 와 AEM3D를 이용한 기후변화에 따른 상사호 유역의 수질오염 부하 및 댐 내 수질 변화 특성 분석 (Evaluation of water quality in the Sangsa Lake under climate change by combined application of HSPF and AEM3D)

  • 본 연구는 상사호(주암조절지)의 유량과 수질이 향후 기후변화에 따라 어떻게 변화하며 어떠한 대책이 필요한지에 대한 분석과 관리 대책을 수립하는 것을 지원하고자 수행되었다. 유역의 변화를 예측하기 위하여 HSPF (Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) 와 호 내의 수질 예측하기 위해 AEM3D (Aquatic Ecosystem Model)를 연계하여 사용하였다. 기후변화 조건은 IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)에 따른 AR5(5th Assessment Report)의 RCP (Representative Concentration Pathways) 4.5와 RCP 8.5 시나리오를 사용하였다. 기후변화 시나리오는 기상청에 의해 상사호 유역에 대한 상세화된 자료를 사용하였고, 2012년~2021년의 10년간의 기간에 대해 보정 및 검증 하고, 미래 상황의 예측을 위해 현재, 2025년~2036년, 2045년~2056년 그리고 2075년~2086년의 기간으로 구분하고 또한 연도별로 6월부터 8월까지의 여름철과 12월부터 2월까지의 겨울철에 대해 구분하여 분석하였다. 전체 모의 기간에 대한 상사호 유역의 유량은 산술 평균으로는 RCP 4.5보다 RCP 8.5 가 큰 것으로 나타났으며 TN, TP 또한 RCP 4.5에서 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 그러나 RCP 8.5에서 갈수기에는 오염물질의 유출이 감소하고, 여름철에는 오염물질의 유출이 증가하여 연간 오염물질 유출량이 홍수기에 집중되는 특성을 나타내었으며 이에 따른 대책이 필요할 것으로 분석된다.

수학과 성취기준과 평가기준 및 예시 평가도구 개발 연구 -국민공통교육기간을 중심으로- (Research and Development of Achievement and Assessment Standards for School Mathematics Based on the 7th National Curriculum)

  • In this study, on the basis of the seventh national mathematics curriculum, the achievement standards were developed to specify the objectives and contents of teaching-learning and the assessment standards were also developed to differentiate students' levels of achievement at school mathematics. The achievement standards were developed on the following guidelines; 1) to present the minimum standards based on the national curriculum, 2) to develop the standards based on the order of curriculum, 3) to suggest the minimum but ultimate achievement target, 4) to comprise not only of the intellectual but also of psychological spheres such as knowledge, function, attitude, aptitude, etc., and 5) to suggest the standards comprehensively and concretely. The standards were developed on the basis of the middle areas of contents of the curriculum in order not to be too comprehensive, nor to be too detailed. Learning activities, on the other hand, were provided for the assistance of instructions with emphasis on creativity rather than on the routine instruction. The assessment standards were established based on the following principles; 1) to establish the assessment methods, contents, and situations which are to be used for assessment, 2) to establish the criteria of classifying the assessed into the upper, intermediate and lower levels, 3) to develop the assessment standards in a proportionate balance to achievement standards, 4) to establish the intermediate level as a standard, and 5) to establish the minimum level in the contents, concepts, values and attitudes of basic learning. This study also suggested the exemplary test items including short-answer and open-ended questions while putting emphasis on students' real performance to increase their ability in solving problems rather than in calculating. In addition to the test items, it introduced the grading system developed to grade the items with concrete guidelines and to report students' achievement on doing mathematics.

초등학교 고학년 아동의 구강건강문해력 평가 (Oral health literacy of upper grade elementary school children)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine oral health literacy in a sample of Korean of 5th and 6th grade elementary school children. Methods: Data were obtained from a convenience sample of 274 $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ grade children from two elementary schools located in Seoul and Uijeongbu. The oral health literacy assessment tool for children of Korea (OHLC-K) takes approximately 11 minutes to complete, and consists of 20 self-report questions with a score range of 0 to 20. Item analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation and multiple linear regression were performed using SPSS 23.0 and testAn 1.0. Results: The lowest and highest percentage of correct answers were found in "Definition of periodontal disease (19.3%)" and "Definition of halitosis (92.7%)," respectively. The mean score for oral health literacy was found to be $14.95{\pm}2.83$, corresponding to a score of approximately 75% correct answers. The correlation coefficient for Korean and OHLC-K scores was high (r=.73, P<.01). In the multiple linear regression, oral health literacy was associated with grade and gender. Conclusion: The present findings revealed that a quarter of the subjects were likely to misunderstand oral health information. Oral health education is indispensable to all children and, therefore, it is necessary to pay greater attention to children who exhibit poor oral health literacy.

GCAM을 이용한 국내 수송부문 모델링 (Modeling Domestic Transportation Sector Using Global Change Assessment Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 통합모형인 GCAM을 활용한 국내수송부문을 모델링에 대해 논의한다. GCAM은 IPCC 5차 보고서 평가에도 활용된, 국제적으로 널리 쓰이는 모형이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이를 국내수송부문에 그대로 적용하는 데 상당한 문제가 있다. 첫째, GCAM의 기준년도(2010년) 수송 서비스수요가 국가통계와 일치하지 않다는 점. 둘째, 수송부문 시뮬레이션 결과가 관련 부문별 서비스수요의 과거추이를 제대로 반영하고 못하고 있다는 점이다. GCAM을 활용한 국내 수송부문 모델링에서 가장 중요하게 영향을 미치는 수송서비스수요 항등식을 상세히 점검함으로써, 기준년도의 서비스수요를 국가통계와 일치시키도록 노력하였다. 또 GCAM의 시뮬레이션 결과가 과거 통계추이를 제대로 반영할 수 있도록 기존모형을 점검, 수정하였다. 점검 및 수정결과, 기존 GCAM의 시뮬레이션 결과와 어떤 부분에서 문제가 있는지, 또 수송부문별 과거 서비스 수요의 추이가 어떻게 제대로 반영되고 있는지를 상세히 보고하였다. 본 연구는 향후 수송부문의 정책, 기술평가 및 온실가스저감 대책 마련 등을 위한 시나리오 분석의 기본분석도구로 유용하게 쓰일 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

IPCC 기후변화 시나리오(A1B)에 따른 살오징어(Todarodes pacificus) 산란장의 변동 예측 (Prediction of the Spawning Ground of Todarodes pacificus under IPCC Climate A1B Scenario)

  • In the northwestern Pacific, spawning of the common squid, Todarodes pacificus, occurs at continental shelf and slope areas of 100-500 m, and the optimum temperature for the spawning and survival of paralarvae is assumed to be $18-23^{\circ}C$. To predict the spawning ground of Todarodes pacificus under future climate conditions, we simulated the present and future ocean circulations, using an East Asia regional ocean model (Modular Ocean Model, MOM version3), projected by two different global climate models (MPI_echam5, MIROC_hires), under an IPCC SRES A1B emission scenario. Mean climate states for 1990-1999 and 2030-2039 from 20th and 21th Century Climate Change model simulation (from the IPCC 4th Assessment Report) were used as surface conditions for simulations, and we examined changes in spawning ground between the 1990s and 2030s. The results revealed that the distribution of spawning ground in the 2030s in both climate models shifted northward in the East China Sea and East Sea, for both autumn and winter populations, compared to that of the 1990s. Also, the spawning area (with $1/6^{\circ}{\times}1/6^{\circ}$ grid) in the 2030s of the autumn and winter populations will decline by 11.6% (MPI_echam5) to 30.8% (MIROC_hires) and 3.0% (MPI_echam5) to 18.2% (MIROC_hires), respectively, from those of the 1990s.

RCP 8.5 시나리오에 따른 낙동강 유역 홍수 유출량 변화 (Change of Discharge According to RCP 8.5 Scenario in the Nakdong-river Basin)

  • 기후변화에 따른 다양한 형태의 자연재해로 인하여 기존 설계기준을 능가하는 홍수가 발생하고, 막대한 국가적 손실이 발생하고 있다. 이러한 기후변화의 영향에 대비하기 위하여 IPCC(Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change) 5차 평가보고서 ($5^{th}$ Assessment Report, AR5)를 근간으로 국내 외에서 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라 낙동강 유역을 대상으로 기후변화 시나리오 기반의 미래 강우자료를 이용하여 홍수 유출량을 산정하고, 이를 기존의 설계홍수량과 비교 분석하였다. 기상청은 IPCC 5차 평가보고서에 따른 국가표준 기후변화 시나리오를 산출하여 제공하고 있으며, RCP (Representative Concentration Pathways) 시나리오 중 온실가스 저감 정책이 실현되지 않는 RCP 8.5 시나리오를 이용하여 연구를 수행하였다. 낙동강 유역에서 설계홍수량 산정에 사용한 연최대 강우자료와 기후변화 RCP 8.5 시나리오에서 생산되는 강우자료를 이용하여 확률강우량을 추정하였고, 강우-유출 모형을 이용하여 홍수량을 산정하여 비교 분석하였다. 현재의 설계기준과 시나리오 기반의 미래 홍수 유출량의 비교 분석 결과는 기후변화 위험에 능동적으로 대응하고 보다 안정적인 수공구조물 설계를 위하여 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 전 지구적으로 발생하는 기후변화의 영향으로 다양한 형태의 자연재해가 점차 증가할 것으로 전망되고 있다. 우리나라는 매년 발생하는 태풍과 집중호우로 인하여 심대한 규모의 사회적 경제적 국가적 손실이 발생하고 있다. 이러한 기후변화로 인한 재해피해 규모가 점점 커짐에 따라 국내 외 다양한 기후변화 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 기상청은 IPCC (Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change) 5차 평가보고서(5th Assessment Report, AR5)에 따른 국가표준 기후변화 시나리오를 산출하여 제공하고 있다. 총 4가지의 RCP (Representative Concentration Pathways) 시나리오 중 온실가스 저감 정책이 상당히 실현되는 경우인 RCP4.5 시나리오를 선정하여 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 관측된 연최대 강우자료와 기후변화 RCP4.5 시나리오에서 생산되는 강우자료를 이용하여 확률강우량을 추정하였고 이를 비교하여 기후변화로 인한 확률강우량의 변화를 분석하였다. 강우자료의 최적 확률분포형으로 Gumbel 분포와 GEV (Generalized Extreme Value) 분포를, 매개변수 추정방법으로 확률가중모멘트법을 선정하였다. 본 연구에서 분석한 현재 대비 미래 기간의 확률강우량 변화를 통하여 기후변화를 고려한 보다 안정적인 수공구조물 설계에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
