도시화에 따른 수문기후변화 I (연 물수지 변화 분석) (A Study on Variation in Annual Water Balance)

  • 도시화에 따른 기후변화가 연 물수지에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 전국 56개 기후관측지점을 중심으로 반경 10 km에 해당하는 $314\;km^2$의 면적을 연구지역으로 설정하였다. 연구지역 내에서 연 실제증발산량을 산정하였고, 도시화에 따른 연 유출량변화를 모의하기 위하여 연 물수지분석을 실시하였다. 연 실제증발산량 산정을 위하여 수문기후자료와 토지이용자료를 이용하여 추정된 식생지수를 이용하여 연구지역별 연 실제증발산량을 산정하였다. 여기서 연 실제증발산량은 Zhang et al.(2001)에 의해서 전 세계 250개 유역에서 장기간의 물수지분석으로부터 유도된 경험 공식을 적용하였다. 연구결과 도시화가 진행됨에 따라서 기준잠재증발산량의 증가추세를 보이고 있다. 따라서 도시화에 따른 기후변화가 연 실제증발산량을 증가시키는 요인과 도시화가 진행됨에 따라 주거지면적이 증가하여 지역 내의 연 실제증발산량을 감소시키는 요인이 복합적으로 작용하는 것으로 판단된다. 강수량자료의 분석 결과 연구기간 동안에 도시화에 따른 연 강수량의 뚜렷한 추세를 보이지 않고 있다. 도시화지역에서 연 유출량은 연 강수량의 변화에 직접적인 영향을 받고 있고, 실제증발산량의 변화정도는 연 강수량의 영향을 받음에도 불구하고 연 강수량에 비하여 그 편차가 크지 않다. 도시화에 따른 연 실제증발산량의 변화는 연 유출량에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 보이며, 도시화에 따른 연 유출량 변화는 크지 않은 것으로 판단된다.

병원 간호사의 선호근무시간대에 관한 연구 (A Study on Hoslital Nurses' Preferred Duty Shift and Duty Hours)

  • The duty shifts of hospital nurses not only affect nurses' physical and mental health but also present various personnel management problems which often result in high turnover rates. In this context a study was carried out from October to November 1995 for a period of two months to find out the status of hospital nurses' duty shift patterns, and preferred duty hours and fixed duty shifts. The study population was 867 RNs working in five general hospitals located in Seoul and its vicinity. The questionnaire developed by the writer was used for data collection. The response rate was 85.9 percent or 745 returns. The SAS program was used for data analysis with the computation of frequencies, percentages and Chi square test. The findings of the study are as follows: 1. General characteristics of the study population: 56 percent of respondents was (25 years group and 76.5 percent were "single": the predominant proportion of respondents was junior nursing college graduates(92.2%) and have less than 5 years nursing experience in hospitals(65.5%). For their future working plan in nursing profession, nearly 50% responded as uncertain The reasons given for their career plan was predominantly 'personal growth and development' rather than financial reasons. 2. The interval for rotations of duty stations was found to be mostly irregular(56.4%) while others reported as weekly(16.1%), monthly(12.9%), and fixed terms(4.6%). 3. The main problems related to duty shifts particularly the evening and night duty nurses reported were "not enough time for the family, " "afraid of security problems after the work when returning home late at night." and "lack of leisure time". "problems in physical and physiological adjustment." "problems in family life." "lack of time for interactions with fellow nurses" etc. 4. The forty percent of respondents reported to have '1-2 times' of duty shift rotations while all others reported that '0 time'. '2-3 times'. 'more than 3 times' etc. which suggest the irregularity in duty shift rotations. 5. The majority(62.8%) of study population found to favor the rotating system of duty stations. The reasons for favoring the rotation system were: the opportunity for "learning new things and personal development." "better human relations are possible. "better understanding in various duty stations." "changes in monotonous routine job" etc. The proportion of those disfavor the rotating 'system was 34.7 percent. giving the reasons of"it impedes development of specialization." "poor job performances." "stress factors" etc. Furthermore. respondents made the following comments in relation to the rotation of duty stations: the nurses should be given the opportunity to participate in the. decision making process: personal interest and aptitudes should be considered: regular intervals for the rotations or it should be planned in advance. etc. 6. For the future career plan. the older. married group with longer nursing experiences appeared to think the nursing as their lifetime career more likely than the younger. single group with shorter nursing experiences ($x^2=61.19.{\;}p=.000;{\;}x^2=41.55.{\;}p=.000$). The reason given for their future career plan regardless of length of future service, was predominantly "personal growth and development" rather than financial reasons. For further analysis, the group those with the shorter career plan appeared to claim "financial reasons" for their future career more readily than the group who consider the nursing job as their lifetime career$(x^2$= 11.73, p=.003) did. This finding suggests the need for careful .considerations in personnel management of nursing administration particularly when dealing with the nurses' career development. The majority of respondents preferred the fixed day shift. However, further analysis of those preferred evening shift by age and civil status, "< 25 years group"(15.1%) and "single group"(13.2) were more likely to favor the fixed evening shift than > 25 years(6.4%) and married(4.8%)groups. This differences were statistically significant ($x^2=14.54, {\;}p=.000;{\;}x^2=8.75, {\;}p=.003$). 7. A great majority of respondents(86.9% or n=647) found to prefer the day shifts. When the four different types of duty shifts(Types A. B. C, D) were presented, 55.0 percent of total respondents preferred the A type or the existing one followed by D type(22.7%). B type(12.4%) and C type(8.2%). 8. When the condition of monetary incentives for the evening(20% of salary) and night shifts(40% of. salary) of the existing duty type was presented. again the day shift appeared to be the most preferred one although the rate was slightly lower(66.4% against 86.9%). In the case of evening shift, with the same incentive, the preference rates for evening and night shifts increased from 11.0 to 22.4 percent and from 0.5 to 3.0 percent respectively. When the age variable was controlled. < 25 yrs group showed higher rates(31.6%. 4.8%) than those of > 25 yrs group(15.5%. 1.3%) respectively preferring the evening and night shifts(p=.000). The civil status also seemed to operate on the preferences of the duty shifts as the single group showed lower rate(69.0%) for day duty against 83. 6% of the married group. and higher rates for evening and night duties(27.2%. 15.1%) respectively against those of the married group(3.8%. 1.8%) while a higher proportion of the married group(83. 6%) preferred the day duties than the single group(69.0%). These differences were found to be statistically all significant(p=.001). 9. The findings on preferences of three different types of fixed duty hours namely, B, C. and D(with additional monetary incentives) are as follows in order of preference: B type(12hrs a day, 3days a wk): day shift(64.1%), evening shift(26.1%). night shift(6.5%) C type(12hrs a day. 4days a wk) : evening shift(49.2%). day shift(32.8%), night shift(11.5%) D type(10hrs a day. 4days a wk): showed the similar trend as B type. The findings of higher preferences on the evening and night duties when the incentives are given. as shown above, suggest the need for the introductions of different patterns of duty hours and incentive measures in order to overcome the difficulties in rostering the nursing duties. However, the interpretation of the above data, particularly the C type, needs cautions as the total number of respondents is very small(n=61). It requires further in-depth study. In conclusion. it seemed to suggest that the patterns of nurses duty hours and shifts in the most hospitals in the country have neither been tried for different duty types nor been flexible. The stereotype rostering system of three shifts and insensitiveness for personal life aspect of nurses seemed to be prevailing. This study seems to support that irregular and frequent rotations of duty shifts may be contributing factors for most nurses' maladjustment problems in physical and mental health. personal and family life which eventually may result in high turnover rates. In order to overcome the increasing problems in personnel management of hospital nurses particularly in rostering of evening and night duty shifts, which may related to eventual high turnover rates, the findings of this study strongly suggest the need for an introduction of new rostering systems including fixed duties and appropriate incentive measures for evenings and nights which the most nurses want to avoid, In considering the nursing care of inpatients is the round-the clock business. the practice of the nursing duty shift system is inevitable. In this context, based on the findings of this study. the following are recommended: 1. The further in-depth studies on duty shifts and hours need to be undertaken for the development of appropriate and effective rostering systems for hospital nurses. 2. An introduction of appropriate incentive measures for evening and night duty shifts along with organizational considerations such as the trials for preferred duty time bands, duty hours, and fixed duty shifts should be considered if good quality of care for the patients be maintained for the round the clock. This may require an initiation of systematic research and development activities in the field of hospital nursing administration as a part of permanent system in the hospital. 3. Planned and regular intervals, orientation and training, and professional and personal growth should be considered for the rotation of different duty stations or units. 4. In considering the higher degree of preferences in the duty type of "10hours a day, 4days a week" shown in this study, it would be worthwhile to undertake the R&D type studies in large hospital settings.

우리나라 서해안해변형성의 평형 관한 연구 (A Study on the Equilibrium Flow Area of Tidal Inlets in the Western Coasta of Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 서해안의 남부, 중부에 위치하고 있는 11개 해만에서 실측한 자료를 이용하여 평균상태에 이르고 있는 해만의 특성을 구명하기 위하여 평균대조기 최대조량($P_n$), 평균대조기 평균조량($P_n$) 및 평균소조기 평균조량($P_n$) 등 세가지와 본 해만인구의 최소횡단면적과의 상관관계를 구명하였다. 해만의 횡단면적과 조량간의 상관연구에서 $P_n$가 상관이 잘되고 있어 $P_n$ 상관식이 평행흐름에 지배적인 요인이라는 것을 알 수 있었으며 이 $P_n$ 상관식을 미국 태평양 연안에서의 비교한 바 비슷한 결과가 나왔다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 상관식은 다음과 같다. $A=9.078{\times10^{-4} P_n^{0.865}$ $A=3.048{\times10^{-3} P_n^{0.808}$ $A=2.30{\times10^{-2} P_n^{0.730}$상기 세가지 식을 이용하여 조사되지 않은 해만에 대해서도 횡단면적만 알 수 있다면 일정기간 동안 유출입하는 조량, 평균유속을 간접적으로 산정할 수 있어 해만의 안정성 검토에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

수중음향을 이용한 해초 서식처(Seagrass Habitats)의 공간 및 수직 분포 추정 (Estimating Spatial and Vertical Distribution of Seagrass Habitats Using Hydroacoustic System)

  • Seagrass meadows are considered as critical habitats for a wide variety of marine organisms in coastal and estuarine ecosystems. In many cases, studies on the spatial/temporal distribution of seagrass have depended on direct observations using SCUBA diving. As an alternative method fur studying seagrass distribution, an application of hydroacoustic technique has been assessed for mapping seagrass distribution in Dongdae Bay, on the south coast of Korea, in September 2005. Data were collected using high frequency transducer (420 kHz split-beam), which was installed with towed body system. The system was linked to DGPS to make goo-referenced data. Additionally, in situ seagrass distribution has been observed using underwater cameras and SCUBA diving at four stations in order to compare with acoustic data. Acoustic survey was conducted along 23 transects with 3-4 blot ship speed. Seagrass beds were vertically limited to depths less than 3.5m and seagrass height ranged between 55 and 90cm at the study sites. Dense seagmss beds were mainly found at the entrance of the bay and at a flat area around the center of the bay. Although the study area was a relatively small, the vertical and spatial distributions of the seagrass were highly variable with bathymetry and region. Considering dominant species, Zostera marina L., preliminary estimation of seagrass biomass with acoustic and direct sampling data was approximately $56.55g/m^2$, and total biomass of 104 tones (coefficient variation: 25.77%) was estimated at the study area. Hydroacoustic method provided valuable information to understand distribution pattern and to estimate seagrass biomass.

증발접시 증발량자료를 이용한 공기동력학적 증발량 산정 방법의 적용성 평가 (Applicability evaluation of aerodynamic approaches for evaporation estimation using pan evaporation data)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 56개 연구지역에 대해서 증발량 산정방법 중에 하나인 공기동력학적 방법의 적용성을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 과거 연구자들에 의해서 제안된 공기동력학적 증발량 산정식들을 7가지 형식으로 구분하고 일반화하여 증발량 산정모델을 유도하였다. 또한, 공기동력학적 방법 적용에 필요한 기상요소자료들(풍속, 포화미흡량, 기온, 대기압)을 이용하여 4가지의 다변량 선형회귀모델을 유도하고 그 적용성을 검토하였다. 기상자료들의 자기상관의 영향을 고려하기 위해 변수들을 차분시켜 회귀분석을 실시하고 자기상관을 고려하지 않은 경우와 비교한 결과 결정계수 값에 큰 차이가 없음을 확인하였다. 연구결과에 의하면 공기동력학적 모델이나 다변량 선형회귀모델 모두에서 산정된 월 증발량과 관측된 월 증발량 사이에 매우 높은 상관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 대부분의 증발량 산정모델에서 8, 9, 10, 11, 12월에 증발량을 과다 산정하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다변량 선형회귀모델들에 사용된 기상요소자료들은 모두 증발량 산정에 유의한 영향력이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 포화 미흡량이 가장 중요한 기상요소이며, 두 번째로는 기온, 세 번째로는 풍속, 그리고 마지막으로 대기압인 것으로 나타났다.

한강 하류의 환경학적 연구 Vl. 부영양 요인의 통계적 해석 (Environmental Studies in the Lower Part of the Han River Vl. The Statistical Analysis of Eutrophication Factors)

  • 본 연구는 한강하류의 부영양화에 미치는 환경요인과 chlorophyll-a의 상관성을 파악하기 위하여 2001년 2월 24일부터 2002년 2월 9일까지 격주로 시료를 분석하였다. 수온은 $0.5^{\circ}C$에서 $26.4^{\circ}C$로 전형적인 온대성 기후를 나타내었고, pH는 약산성에서 약알칼리성을 보였다. TN과 TP의 농도 범위는 각각 1.68${\sim}$20.96 mg $L^{-1}$, 0.02${\sim}$1.17 mg $L^{-1}$이었고, TN/TP 비는 22.46로 상대적으로 높은 질소원을 보였다. Chlorophyll-a 는 2.3${\sim}$136.3 ${\mu}g\;L^{-1}$로 계절별 변이가 컸으며, 이를 물리 ${\cdot}$ 화학적 환경요인과 상관분석을 한 결과, 정의 상관계수를 나타내는 요인은 BOD. COD. pH. $NH_4\;^+$-N, TP. TN. 전기전도, $PO_4\;^{3-}$-P등의 순서였고, 부의 상관관계는 $NO_3\;^-$-N으로 나타났다. 한편 환경요인의 요인분석 결과, 제1요인은 "영양염류 요인"으로 전기전도도, BOD, COD, 부유물질, TN, TP, $NH_4\;^+$-N, $PO_4\;^{3-}$-P로 구분되었고, 제2요인은 "기후변동의 요인"으로 수온과 DO로 나타났으며, 제3요인은 "식물플랑크톤의 물질대사요인"으로 pH와 $NO_3\;^-$-N으로 나타났다. 요인분석의 3가지 요인 중에서 제1요인이 43.08%로 제2요인과 제3요인이 각각 18.84%와 14.28%로 한강하류수역의 수질 특성은 영양염류인자에 따른 영향이 크다고 판단된다. Chlorophyll-a의 농도와 환경요인의 상관관계를 바탕으로 단계적 회귀분석 후 표준화한 결과, 결정계수 (Ra)가 0.32로 전기전도도, $PO_4\;^{3-}$-P, $NO_3\;^-$-N,$NH_4\;^+$-N이 chlorophyll-a의 변화에 크게 작용하는 것으로 파악되었다.

남매지의 수환경 요인과 식물플랑크톤의 계절적인 변동 (Seasonal Variations of Water Environment Factors and Phytoplankton in Nammae Reservoir)

  • 경북 경산시에서 농업용수로 이용되는 남매지의 3개 정점을 선정하여 2000년 3월부터 2001년 2월까하였다. 다양한 이화학적 환경요인과 식물플랑크톤의 엽록소 a, b, a 농도 및 현존지 매월1회 조사량의 상호관계를 통해 남매지 생태계의 계절적 변화를 파악하였다. 엽록소 a, b와 c의 농도가 6월에 정점 1에서 각각 최고치 (295nlg/1, 9.Smg/1, 48mg/1)를 나타냈고, 식물플랑크톤은 현존량이 정점 3에서 여름에 가장 높았다(7월: $1.7{\time}10^5$scells/1). 수온 분포는 $7{\sim}37.4^{\circ}C$ 범위 이었다. 수소이온 농도는 8월에 $9.9{\sim}10.1$ 범위로 최고치를 나타냈고, 최저는 7로서 9월이었다. SS저는의 최대 및 최 정점 1에서 6월과 11월에 각각 308 mg/1, 4 mg/1이었다. COD와 DOC는 동일한 정점에서 6월에 각각 33mg/1와 16mg/1로 높았다. 식물플랑크톤의 남조류 Microcystis aeruginosa는 7${\sim}$8월에, 녹조류 Scenedesmus acutus는 3${\sim}$5월과 11l${\sim}$1월에, 규조류 Cyclotella orientalis는 10월에 각각가장 우점종하였고, 인산이온과 규산이온의 농도는 여름에 비교적 높은 반면에 가을과 겨울에 전반적으로 낮았다. TSI는 16.6${\sim}$86.4범위로서 전 정점이 부영양화 혹은 과영양화 상태이었고, 유역관리가 선행된 지속적인연구의 필요성이 요구되었다.

마이크로네시아 축 주의 석호환경 내 동물플랑크톤 군집: 종조성 및 개체수 (Mesozooplankton Community in the Chuuk Lagoon of the Federated States of Micronesia)

  • Mesozooplankton samples were collected to investigate the spatial distribution in the Chuuk lagoon of the Federated States of Micronesia through three surveys from 2002 to 2004. Average temperature was $28.70^{\circ}C$ in August 2002, $30.17^{\circ}C$ in October 2003 and $29.18^{\circ}C$ in July 2004 at a water depth of 2rn. Average salinity was 33.95 psu in August 2002, 33.56 psu in October 2003 and 33.77 psu in July 2004. Total rnosozooplankton consisted of 70 taxa during the study period, among which copepods were the most diverse group. Foraminiferans, radiolarians, copepods and appendicularians, which comprised about 70% of total zooplankton abundance, were important components in the zooplankton community. Within the copepod group, Acartia spp., Centropages spp. and Undinula spp. were dominant in August 2002, Acartia spp., Centropages spp., and Oithona spp. in October 2003, and Acartia spp., Undinula spp., and Oithona spp. in July 2004. Total zooplankton abundance was high around Weno Island, while low in stations located in the northern part of Weno Island. High abundances of appendicularians were found in the southern part of weno Island as well as around Weno Island. Appendicularians foraminiferans, radiolarians, Sagitta spp. and immature copepods accounted for most of the distribution pattern of the mesozzoplankton community throughout the study area. These results suggest that appendicularians may be potential food items for fish larvae around Weno Island in the Chuuk lagoon states.

우리나라의 주요가뭄해석을 위한 각종 가뭄지수의 적용 (An Application of Various Drought Indices for Major Drought Analysis in Korea)

  • 가뭄을 미리 발견하고 감시하는 것은 어려우나, 가뭄지수를 이용하면 가뭄의 파악이 용이하다. PDSI는 통상적으로 가장 널리 이용되나 운영상 제한성을 가지고 있다. 최근 들어 가뭄을 인지하고 감시하는 능력이 향상된 SPI가 개발되었으며, 이는 기존의 지수들에 비해 모든 시간간격에 적용이 가능하고 간단하게 이용이 가능하다. KBDI는 상부토양층의 누적수분부족량을 산출함에 있어서 증발산과 강수량의 순영향을 나타내는 지수로 정의하였다. 본 연구에서는 PDSI, SPI, KBDI를 이용하여 산정된 가뭄지수의 상호비교 연구를 통하여 표준 가뭄지수를 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 우리나라 8개 수계의 30년 이상의 기상자료를 보유한 기상청 강우관측소 자료를 이용하였다. 그 결과 PDSI는 누적되는 강우의 부족으로 가뭄심도를 나타내는 데 유리하고, SPI와 KBDI는 단기간 강우부족을 나타내는데 유리한 것으로 나타났다.

Exploring Stress Levels, Job Satisfaction, and Quality of Life in a Sample of Police Officers in Greece

  • Background: The ongoing economic crisis in Greece has affected both stress and quality of life (QoL) at all socioeconomic levels, including professionals in the police force. The aim of this study was to examine perceived stress, job satisfaction, QoL, and their relationships in a sample of police officers in Greece. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted during the first trimester of 2011 in 23 police stations in the greater Athens area. A total of 201 police officers agreed to participate (response rate 44.6%). The General Health Questionnaire-28 (GHQ-28) was used to assess general health, and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF Questionnaire and Perceived Stress Scale-14 (PSS-14) questionnaires were used to assess QoL and perceived stress, respectively. Results: The PSS and GHQ subscales and total scores exhibited strong, positive, and significant correlations coefficients (r): 0.52 for somatic disturbances, 0.56 for stress and insomnia, 0.40 for social dysfunction, and 0.37 for depression, yielding an r equal to 0.57 for the total GHQ score. A higher level of perceived stress was related to a lower likelihood of being satisfied with their job; in this regard, male participants and higher ranked officers reported lower job satisfaction. The PSS and GHQ scores were inversely, consistently, and significantly related to almost all of the QoL aspects, explaining up to 34% of their variability. Parenthood had a positive effect on QoL related to physical health, and women reported lower QoL related to psychological health. Conclusion: Higher levels of stress are related to an increased risk of reporting suboptimal job satisfaction and QoL. The magnitude of these associations varied depending on age, gender, and rank, highlighting the need for stress-management training.
