일본의 오키노시마 유산군 사례로 본 세계유산 등재의 쟁점 및 시사점 (A study on Issues and Implications of World Heritage Listing through the Case of 'Sacred Island of Okinoshima and Munakata Region' in Japan)

  • 2018년은 지난 1978년, 12건의 유네스코 세계유산이 최초로 탄생한 지 40주년을 맞이하는 기념비적인 해이다. 본 연구는 1972년에 채택된 '세계 문화 및 자연유산 보호를 위한 협약'의 이행과정에 관한 개략적인 고찰을 바탕으로, 지난 40여 년 간의 문화유산 등재를 둘러싼 흐름과 현안을 살펴보았다. 특히 2017년 제41회 세계유산위원회에서 등재된 일본의 '성스러운 섬 오키노시마와 무나카타 지역의 관련 유산군'의 사례를 통해, 최근의 문화유산 등재 경향과 그 경위에서 보이는 주체들 간의 심사 및 결정을 둘러싼 불균형의 쟁점을 심층적으로 논고하였다. 본고는 반세기 가까운 이행 가운데 변화의 급물살을 타고 있는 유네스코 세계유산협약의 유산 외교에 총력을 기울이는 일본의 대응 체제를 고찰함으로서, 유효한 시사점을 도출하고 유산 담론의 학술적 의의를 조명하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이와 더불어 협약 가입 30주년을 기념하는 우리나라의 전략적 과제를 살펴보고 향후 문화유산의 등재와 보전을 위한 방향성을 제시하는 데 기여하고자 한다.

TDU-GC/MS를 이용한 한국품종 참당귀 국산 판별 기법 (Geographical origin discrimination of Korean variety, Angelica gigas Nakai by using TDU (Thermal Desorption Unit)-GC/MS)

  • 한약재의 불법 유통을 방지하기 위해 신속 정확한 원산지 판별방법 개발이 필요함에 따라 TDU-GC/MS를 이용하여 한국품종 당귀와 외국품종 당귀를 판별함과 동시에 한국품종 당귀의 재배지가 한국인지를 판별할 수 있는 기법을 연구하였다. 당귀추출물을 열탈착 시킨 후 냉각응축시스템에서 응축시켜 일시에 GC/MS로 분석한 결과 국산 품종 당귀(참당귀)는 TIC의 RT 26.9-27.2에서 coumarin 유도체인 decursin과 decursinol peak가 확인되었다. 중국 품종 당귀(중당귀)의 경우 RT 17.2 부근에서 ligustilide의 peak가 검출되었다. 국산 품종 참당귀 원산지에 따른 휘발성분의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 twister로 흡착하여 TDU-GC/MS로 m/z 40-400 amu 범위에서 mass spectrum을 측정하였다. 참당귀의 국내 및 중국 재배 시료 TIC는 전반적으로 같은 경향을 냈으나 TIC를 부분 scan한 결과 RT 15.4-16.1에서 국내 및 중국 재배의 peak pattern 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. Peak A (RT 15.54)과 B (RT 16.05)의 비율은 국내 재배는 0.0-0.2, 중국 재배의 경우 0.5-2.8으로서 TDU-GC/MS의 TIC peak pattern 비교를 통한 원산지 판별 가능성을 확인하였다.

LPS로 활성화된 RAW 264.7 대식세포에서 애기땅빈대(Euphorbia supina Rafin)의 염증매개물질 억제효과 (Inhibitory Effects of Euphorbia supina Rafin on the Production of Pro-Inflammatory Mediator by LPS-Stimulated RAW 264.7 Macrophages)

  • 본 연구는 애기땅빈대(Euphorbia supina Rafin.) 열수(ESW) 및 에탄올 추출물(ESE)의 항염증 효과를 조사하기 위하여 RAW 264.7 세포에서 LPS에 의해 생성되는 염증매개물질에 대한 억제효과를 조사하였다. ESW와 ESE은 조사된 모든 농도에서 95% 이상의 생존율을 보여 세포독성이 없는 것으로 확인되었다. ESW의 경우, NO의 생성을 100, 250, 500, $1000\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 각각 21.6%, 31.9%, 44.3%, 54.8% 억제하였고, PGE2의 생성은 250, 500, $1000\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 각각 25.7%, 34%, 38.2% 억제하여 농도 의존적이고 유의적인 억제효과가 확인되었다. IL-6의 생성은 250, $1000\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 각각 66.1%, 54.3% 억제하였다. IL-10, TNF-${\alpha}$의 생성은 $500\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 유의적인 증가를 나타냈다. ESE의 경우, NO의 생성을 100, 250, 500, $1000\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 각각 38.3%, 66%, 74.7%, 77.5%, $PGE_2$의 생성은 100, 250, 500, $1000\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 각각 40%, 51.8%, 92.4%, 94.7% 농도 의존적이고 유의적으로 억제하였다. IL-6의 생성은 100, 250, 500, $1000\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 각각 43.9%, 48.9%, 69.7%, 89.4% 억제하였다. IL-10의 생성은 $500\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 44.1% 억제하였고, TNF-${\alpha}$의 생성은 $1000\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도에서 92.4% 억제하였다. 결과를 종합해 볼때, 애기땅빈대는 ESW보다는 ESE의 경우가 LPS로 활성화된 RAW 264.7 대식세포에서의 염증매개물질 억제효과가 좋은 것으로 나타났으며, ESE는 저농도보다는 $500\;{\mu}g$/mL 이상의 고농도에서 NO, $PGE_2$, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-${\alpha}$와 같은 염증매개물질 억제효과가 좋은 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 애기땅빈대 ESE는 $500\;{\mu}g$/mL 농도 이상에서 염증매개물질 억제 보조제로서 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

마이크로스트립 슬로트의 원형 위상배열 안테나 설계 (A design of a circular phased-array antenna with microstrip slots)

  • 排列 素子간의 급전 位相差에 의하여 放射 빔의 방향을 조정할 수 있고 指向性과 利得을 높일 수 있는 마이크 로스트립 슬로트 素子가 圓形으로 排列된 位相 排列 안테나 시스템을 提案 設計하였다. 排列된 슬로트의 수와 圓의 반경을 변화시켜 요구되는 指向性과 利得을 얻을 수 있으나, 본 연구에서는 4개의 마이크로스트립 슬로트를 원주의 接線방향으로 排列시키고 바렉터 다이오드릎 사용한 아나로그 移相器로 안테 나 소자에 급전시켜 40。까지 放射 빔을 조정시킬 수 있는 位相排列 안테나시스템을 분산과 불연속 특성을 고려 하여 10 GHz에서 마이크로스트립 선로로 製作하였다. 측정 결과는 이론과 잘 일치하였으며, 64개의 마이크로스트립 디스크 패치를 短形排列시킨 경우(1)와 비교하였을 때 배열 소자의 수를 고려한 안테나의 性能이 전반적으로 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다.

Hepatitis A Outbreak in a Facility for the Disabled, Gyeonggi Province, Korea: An Epidemiological Investigation

  • Objectives: The number of cases of hepatitis A virus (HAV) infections has sharply increased in Korea, especially among young adults. In this study, an HAV outbreak in a facility for disabled people was investigated, and we found epidemiological differences both between 2 different generations and between generally abled and disabled groups. Methods: We analyzed the incubation period and attack rate of an HAV outbreak and investigated the prevalence of HAV antibodies among the staff and residents of a facility for the disabled. We performed a retrospective cohort study during the HAV outbreak, which lasted from February 8 to 25, 2019, including examinations of HAV antibody tests and post-exposure HAV vaccination for the staff or residents of the facility. Results: There were 9 confirmed cases in 2 staff members and 7 residents. Among 53 people (30 staff and 23 residents), except for the 9 confirmed cases and 1 staff member with a known history of HAV infection, HAV seroprevalence was seen in 16.7% of the staff under 40 years of age and 95.2% of those over 40 years of age, while the corresponding rates in the residents were 0.0% and 58.8%, respectively. Conclusions: This result implies that it is necessary to prioritize HAV vaccination for vulnerable groups and workers of residential care facilities.

Secular trends of body sizes in Korean children and adolescents: from 1965 to 2010

  • An anthropometric survey is one of the most important approaches to use when evaluating the health status of children. Secular trends in body sizes, such as height, weight, head circumference, chest circumference, and body mass index showed significant changes over 40 years in Korea. A series of periodic surveys were conducted in 1967, 1975, 1985, 1997, and 2005 by the Korean Pediatric Society and Ministry of Health and Welfare. The quality of data from school health examinations and the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey has improved, so we can use them now as resources for anthropometric analysis. The final height differences between 1965 and 1997 were 4.5 cm both in boys (168.9 cm in 1965; 173.4 cm in 1997) and girls (155.9 cm in 1965; 160.4 cm in 1997). The differences between 1997 and 2005 were 0.9 cm in boys (174.3cm in 2005) and 0.8 cm in girls (161.2 cm in 2005). There was no difference in final height measurements between 2005 and 2010. An increase in body size at earlier teen ages was pronounced during these decades compared to the previous generation; however, little change has been identified more recently. Body size has been increasing, and obesity has become more prevalent. Systems that gather data should be updated in order to cope with these secular trends. In an upcoming era of secular trends that would be in a slow transition, several surveys that include body measurements should be prepared to meet future needs.

수리모형 실험에 의한 선박 부착형 오탁방지막의 거동특성 구명 (Experimental Study on the Deformation of Silt Curtain by Water Current)

  • Silt curtains are constructed for minimizing pollution of sediment dispersion in water bodies. In spite of wide uses of the silt curtains, there are few studies for analyzing the effectiveness of them with respect to their dimension and hydraulic characteristics. Currently, the market of silt curtains does not provide the various dimension of them due to the limit of information regarding its effectiveness on reducing sediment pollution. In this study, a series of experiments were conducted to investigate hydraulic characteristics around the silt curtains under the different flow conditions. For this study, a silt curtain was fabricated and an open channel with 30cm of width and 40cm of depth was used. The results indicated that the silt curtain was not effective in preventing dispersion at flow velocities over 0.5m/s in real conditions. Based on the experimental results, it is required that approaching velocity should be minimized and the weight of bottom be increased in order to reduce deformation. The results of this study will provide information required to design appropriate dimension of silt curtains in various water environment such as velocity and water depths.

Si 나노입자에서 shell이 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Shell on the Electrochemical Properties of Si Nanoparticle)

  • Effects of $SiO_x$ or C shells on electrochemical properties of Si nanoparticles were investigated. $SiO_x$ shells with thickness of 10~15 nm were formed on homogeneously crystalline Si nanoparticles. Incase of Si-C nanoparticles, there were 30~40 layers of C with a number of defects. Li-ion batteries were fabricated with the above-mentioned nanoparticles, and their electrochemical properties were measured. Pristine Si shows a high IRC (initial reversible capacity) of 2,517 mAh/g and ICE (initial columbic efficiency) of 87%, but low capacity retention of 22%, respectively. $SiO_x$ shells decreased IRC (1,534 mAh/g) and ICE (54%), while the retention increased up to 65%, which can be explained by irreversible phases such as $LiO_2$ and $Li_2SiO_3$. C shells exhibited no differences in IRC and ICE compared to the pristine Si but an enhanced retention of 54%, which might be from proper defect structures.

복합 고온 전처리 더덕 추출물의 미백 활성 탐색 (Screening of Skin Whitening Activity of Codonopsis lanceolata Extract by Complex Steaming Process)

  • According to previous reports, antioxidant activities of Codonopsis lanceolata could be increased by a steaming process. This study was performed to improve its antioxidant activity and skin whitening activities of C. lanceolata by high pressure and stepwise steaming complex process. The complex processed C. lanceolata showed highest free radical scavenging acitivity as 45.21%, and for phenol and flavonoid contents, complex processed C. lanceolata contained higher than those from conventional extraction process or steaming process alone. The Cytotoxicity of all C. lanceolata extracts also showed low cytotoxicity against human fibroblast cell (CCD-986sk) as 4.49 ~ 10.40%. In whitening activity, high inhibition of tyrosinase activity was estimated as 25.08% by adding the extracts from complex process. We found that whitening and antioxidant activity of complex processed C. lancolata extract was higher than those obtained from conventional extraction and a steaming process because various kinds of antioxidant compounds could be easily released by combined process, compared to one of each process.

Microstructure and Tribological Properties of Ti-Si-C-N Nanocomposite Coatings Prepared by Filtered Vacuum Arc Cathode Deposition

  • The demand for low-friction, wear and corrosion resistant components, which operate under severe conditions, has directed attentions to advanced surface engineering technologies. The Filtered Vacuum Arc Cathode Deposition (FVACD) process has demonstrated atomically smooth surface at relatively high deposition rates over large surface areas. Preparation of Ti-Si-C-N nanocomposite coatings on (100) Si and stainless steel substrates with tetramethylsilane (TMS) gas pressures to optimize the film preparation conditions. Ti-S-C-N coatings were characterized using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, nanoindentation, Rockwell C indentation and ball-on-disk wear tests. The XRD results have confirmed phase formation information of TiSiCN coatings, which shows mixing of TiN and TiC structure, corresponding to (111), (200) and (220) planes of TiCN. The chemical composition of the film was investigated by XPS core level spectra. The binding energy of the elements present in the films was estimated using XPS measurements and it shows present of elemental information corresponding to Ti2p, N1s, Si 2p and C1. Film hardness and elastic modulus were measured with a nano-indenter, and film hardness reached 40 GPa. Tribological behaviors of the films were evaluated using a ball-on-disk tribometer, and the films demonstrated properties of low-friction and good wear resistance.
