Polycaprolactone (PCL) and thermoplastic starch (TPS) blends were prepared. Mechanical properties, thermal property, water absorption, biodegradability by composting and surface morphology of PCL/TPS blends were investigated. The compositions of PCL/TPS blends were 90/10, 80/20, 70/30, 60/40, 50/50, 40/60, 30/70, 20/80, and 10/90. Strength and elongation at break decreased as the content of TPS increased, while modulus increased. DSC thermogram of TPS showed two glass transition temperatures (T$_{g}$ ) at 23$^{\circ}C$ and 126$^{\circ}C$. And TPS proved to be an amorphous polymer because there was no endothermic peak due to the melting of starch crystal. The unchanged melting temperatures and T$_{g}$ 's of PCL/TPS blends revealed that PCL and TPS were not miscible. All of the blends were found to be mechanically compatible but phase separated in each other. After 45 days composting, the biodegradability of PCL was 44% and that of PCL/TPS blends increased as the contents of TPS increased.

Objectives : Lately the oriental medical treatment of Bell's palsy is various. In various treatments. this study reports the effect of our clinical treatment using aqua-acupuncture with hominis placenta and electroacupuncture treatment for Bell's palsy, The other purpose of this study is to compare the outcome of inpatient group with that of outpatient group. Materials and Methods : From March 1, 2003 to June 30, 2003, we observe 25 patients who visited to the department of oriental medical surgery, ophthalmology & otolaryngology, in oriental medicine hospital Sang-ji university with Bell's palsy. limited to patients who receive treatment more than 5th times and 4 weeks poured aqua-acupunture with homonis placenta both inpatient group and outpatient group, Inpatient group used electroacupunture treatment after 1 week after onset and outpatient group used electroacupunture treatment after 4 weeks after onset. Results and Conclusions : 40$\%$ were male and 60$\%$ female. Of 25 cases. 30's and 50's were 24$\%$ respectively, 40's, 60's and over 70 were 16$\%$ respectively, 20's were 4$\%$. 50$\%$ of male and 60$\%$ of female had the affected side at left side and right occured at 50$\%$ of male and 40$\%$ of female. The most common cause of Bell's palsy was nonspecific 36$\%$, followed by labor 28$\%$, stress 20$\%$, In 48$\%$ of all cases, 2~3 days were spent before a patient visited the hospital after onset, followed by 4~7 days (24$\%$), 44$\%$ were treated 11~20 times followed by those who received 21~30 times (28$\%$). The results of treatment with aqua-acupunture wth hominis placenta and electroacupunture treatment showed that 21 of 25(84$\%$) patients achived fair or more recovery. the overall therapeutic rate of inpatient group was 90.9$\%$, which was higher than that of outpatient group(78.6$\%$).
The purpose of this research is to investigate elderly, middle-aged female consumers' design and material preferences for lounge wear and after understanding senescent women's propensity to purchase lounge wear. The subject of research were to those living in the Seoul and capital region and 612, which did not comprise missing values, were collected and used for data analyses. All the age groups including those in their 50s and 60s prefer jacket and pants styles the most and these styles are the most favored as lounge wear as well. Those in their 50s and 60s prefer a round neckline the most while those in their 70s favor a V neckline the most. Analyses of sleeve styles of senescent women show that all the age groups favor a straight set, or a sleeve design, the most. Although the aged people investigated in this research have relatively high purchasing power, it is found that they tend to buy low priced lounge wears. Reviewing all of the above-mentioned results, the prices of garments for senescent people will be set in consideration of their economic level, so that good quality commodities may be produced and sold at different prices.

Tailing Material (TM) and Fly Ash (FA) are obtained as waste products from the mining and thermal industries. Studies were carried out to explore the possibility of utilizing TM as a part replacement to fine aggregate and FA as a part replacement to cement, in concrete mixes. The effect of replacing fine aggregate by TM and cement by FA on the standard sized specimen for compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strengths are evaluated in this study. The concrete mix of M40 grade was adopted with water cement ratio equal to 0.40. Concrete mix with 35% TM and 65% natural sand (TM35/S65) has shown superior performance in strength as against (TM0/S100, TM30/S70, TM40/S60, TM50/S50, and TM60/S40). For this composition, studies were performed to propose the optimal replacement of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) by FA (Replacement levels studied were 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%). Replacement level of 20% OPC by FA, has shown about 0-5% more compressive strength as against the control mix, for both 28 day and 56 days of water curing. Interestingly results of split tensile and flexural strengths for 20% OPC replaced by FA, have shown strengths equal to that of no replacement (control mix).

Also it was measured seam strength by the change of angle in the pattern and the kinds of threads. The results of this study are as follows; The seam strength is stronger in order of $90^{\circ}/90^{\circ}$ > $0^{\circ}/0^{\circ}$ > $70^{\circ}/-70^{\circ}$ > $70^{\circ}/70^{\circ}$ > $60^{\circ}/60^{\circ}$ > $60^{\circ}/-60^{\circ}$ > $30^{\circ}/30^{\circ}$ > $30^{\circ}/-30^{\circ}$ > $45^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}$ > $45^{\circ}/45^{\circ}$ by the cutting directions, in order of T/C3>T/C1>T/C4>T/C2 by the samples and in order of 60's/3>40's/2>60's/2>50's/2 by the threads.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to examine whether dietary quality varies among different age groups and geographic areas, and whether the difference between geographic areas varies across several age groups in Korea. Methods: The subjects were 14,170 subjects who participated in the 2013-2015 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The dietary quality was assessed using the Korean Health Eating Index (KHEI). Age groups were categorized into six groupings, and areas were categorized into urban and rural according to their administrative districts. The effect of area on the KHEI score was analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis. Results: The KHEI was the lowest in the 20-30s group (57.7 ± 0.4 score for 20s and 61.2 ± 0.3 score for 30s) and increased with age (p<0.001), showing the highest score in the 60s (67.9 ± 0.3 score), and then decreased again in the 70s and older (64.6 ± 0.3 score). As a result of comparing the KHEI score by area, the urban areas had higher KHEI scores than did the rural areas (63.5 ± 0.2 score for urban area and 62.2 ± 0.4 score for rural area, p=0.002). The difference between areas was dependent on the age group, showing a significant difference for subjects who were aged from 50s and older (p=0.002 for 50s, p<0.001 for 60s and p<0.001 for 70s and older). After adjusting for confounding factors, the effect of area on the KHEI score was only shown for those subjects in the over 60 years old group (p=0.035 for 60s and p<0.001 for 70s and older). Conclusions: The dietary quality differed according to the age group and geographic area. The dietary quality was lower for younger people than that for older people, and in rural areas compared to that in urban areas, and especially for older adults. The area factor was a very important factor for the dietary quality.
The study was carried out from March to May in 1998 to compare the food habits and food preference of 391 men in Kyung Nam area who were between twenties and sixties. The summarized results are as follow: 1. The 30's were highest(173.8cm) and the 60's were lowest(168.3cm) in their average stature. The 30's were heaviest(68.2Kg) and the 20's were lightest(62.3Kg) in their average weight(P<0.001). Average BMI was highest in the 50's and lowest in the 20's. 2. Average food habit score of the subjects(4.08) was as low as belonging to the poor group and lowest was 20's. 3. The rate of not eating was highest in the breakfast and the subjects ate breakfast more as they were older(P<0.001). The serious problem of food habit was irregular eating time. The subjects ate in the more irregular time as they were younger. 4. 88.9% of the subjects preferred cooked rice and cereals as their main food, kimchi as their side dish and fruit as their eating between meals. 5. We found great differences in the kinds and number of drinkings subjects preferred as their ages(P<0.001). 20's preferred cider and cola. 30's, 40's and 50's preferred coffee and 60's preferred ginseng tea and citron tea. The rate of smoking was higher in 30's and 40's then in 20's and 50's. 6. 72.9% of the 20's and 16.7% of the 60's ate instant food more than 2-3 times a week. They ate Ramen most often because of its convenience. They ate out more as they were younger and preferred Korean food as their eating out menu. 7. The degree of preference in a sweet taste was highest in 20's and lowest in 40's (P<0.01) and the degree in the preference of a sour taste became lower as they were older(P<0.001). Only in the preference of a salty taste, we could find the difference of the BMI level. They showed high degree in the preference of a salty taste as the order of the over-weight group, normal group, under-weight group and fat group. They showed meaningful correlationship between the level of BMI and the degree of preference of a salty taste in 20's and 40's and between the food habit score and the level of BMI in 60's (P<0.05).
The purpose of this study was to obtain and offer useful information on innerwear industry through an analysis of consumer purchasing behavior and preference of their between the 20's and 60's. From 310 questionnaires that were distributed, 308 with usable data were coded for further statistical analysis including descriptive statistics(frequency and chi-square test), by using SPSSWIN 10.0. The results were as follows.: It was found that the innerwear for men in their 20's should be developed in an attempt to place greater emphasis on improving functions as an outwear such as impact absorption and protection articulation required for outdoor activities such 3s mountain climbing and in-line skating, rather than the function of thermal insulation. In addition, the development of new materials that improves the hygroscopicity and rapid dryness is needed. For men in their 30's and 40's, the results suggest that innerwear should be designed as thinly as possible without compromising the silhouette of the outwear. For those in their 50's and 60's, it is recommended to intensify the aspects of health and hygiene of the innerwear, while maintaining the function of thermal insulation. Given that a large number of women purchase men's innerwear for their partners, it is important to strengthen the designs and marketing strategy specifically tailored to women's purchasing power.
This study was performed to assess socioeconomic status and physical health status of middle-aged men ($40's{\sim}60's$) in Ganghwa country. We interviewed 1,267 middle-aged men (602 male, 665 female) by trained interviewers using structured questionnaires including demographic information, general health status, and anthro-pometric measurements. And all the data were analyzed by chi-square test, Student's t-test and one-way ANOVA using SPSS 12.0 version at p<0.05. These results were that males were higher than females in educational levels (p = 0.000) and most of them decreased according to age in educational levels (p =0.000) and family income (p =0.000), and prevalence of chronic diseases (p =0.000): stomach-duodenum disease, fracture, arthritis, or hypertension. They took to the health information on TV and radio and their health managing methods were exercise and walking and resting and diet regulation. Body Mass Index (BMI) was decreased in oder males (p =0.024) but increased in older females (p=0.001). In females, obesity prevalence of 40's, 50's and 60's was 31.3%. 49.7% and 48.0%, respectively. Waist circumference was the highest in 50's males (p=0.015), but hip circumference was the highest in 50's females (p =0.015). Waist-hip ratio (WHR) increased in older males (p = 0.028) and females (p= 0.000). In spite of the subjects were engaged in agriculture and fishery and had desirable lifestyles obesity rate especially abdominal obesity, was the serious problem. Socioeconomic status, especially education and income were related to SRH (p=0.006, p=0.000), chronic disease (p=0.000) and BMI (p=0.028, p=0.000). Therefore, it is necessary that the public health policy and nutrition education programs to alter lifestyles and to improve health preservation and health promotion in the farming and fishing communities.
The responses of brain acetylcholinesterase and plasma cholinesterase activities were examined in chicken given oral doses of an organophosphorus insecticides. Acute oral $LD_{50}$ of terbufos was 1.82mg/kg, and terbufos sulfone was 2.85mg/kg, terbufos sulfoxide, terbufoso xon, terbufosoxon sulfone and terbufosoxon sulfoxide were about $0.30{\sim}0.79mg/kg$, respectively. Acute oral $LD_{50}$ of phorate was 1.02mg/kg, and phorate sulfone was 1.73mg/kg, phorate sulfoxide, phoratoxon, phoratoxon sulfoxide and phoratoxon sulfone were about $0.36{\sim}0.63mg/kg$, respectively. Dosages of 50% inhibition for brain AChE and plasma ChE activities in chicken at 60 mins after oral administration of organop hosphorus insecticides were $35.3{\pm}6.8%\;and\;17.4{\pm}3.6%$ of acute oral $LD_{50}$, respectively. Activities of brain AChE and plasma ChE in chicken at 60 mins after oral administratration of acute oral $LD_{50}$ of organophosphorus insecticides were inhibited by $83.7{\pm}3.9%\;and\;93.3{\pm}2.2%$, respectively.
