본 논문은 Ka 밴드(26.5GHz-40GHz)를 사용한 양방향 멀티미디어 시스템의 설계에 대해서 다루고 있다. 우선 무궁화 3호 위성을 이용한 시범사업의 구성 및 운영과정에 대해서 개괄하고, 시범운영에서 발견된 문제점을 소개한다. Ka 밴드 양방향 위성 시스템은 MF-TDMA(Multi-Frequency Time Division Multiple Access) 방식을 사용하여 최대 전송속도 2Mbps 이상이고, QOS(Quality of Service) 제공 등 다양한 기능을 갖추고 있으나 Ka 주파수 특성상 그 안정성에 있어서 어려움을 갖고 있다. 강우감쇄 및 전송 지연 등의 현상들을 소개하고 향후 위성 양방향 시스템의 구성과 응용 서비스를 구현할 때 고려해야 할 사항들에 대해 고찰해 보고, 해결방안을 제시하였다.

Lateral p-i-n photodiodes have been fabricated, electrically tested, and incorporated into microwave control circuits such as an optically excited microwave atttenuator and reflection type phase shifter. Circuit design procedures for the loaded-line phase shifter with the optically controlled p-i-n photodiode are presented. The equal loss loading mode presented for the first time for the phase shifter circuits with lossy load allows an equal insertion loss of the phase shifter in both of its phase states. It is found that the insertion loss of the equal loss loading mode phase shifter constructed with the fabricated p-i-n photodiode load are about 3dB for 11.25$^{\circ}$ bit and 1dB for 5.625$^{\circ}$ bit for the frequency range of 2GHz to 11GHz.

The 3C84 (NGC 1275), one of Seyfert 2 galaxy, is an interesting object with its peculiar sub-mas structure. We found that the inner jet (r < 2.5mas) of 3C84 seemed to even changed its position angle and flux over one and a half years based on the result of global 86GHz VLBI survey (Lee et al. 2008). In order to confirm the 'precession' of jet, we observed the object in 4 epochs May07, Oct.07, May08 and Oct.08 with the GMVA (Global mm-VLBI Array) at 3mm (86.25GHz) and the each observation time is about 14 hours. Here we present observation and preliminary result of Oct.07 and May08 epochs.

In this paper, a tunable image rejection filter using two varactors is developed for mobile convergence. The filter is fabricated on a 0.25um substrate. ESD Pad is embedded to prevent damage caused by electrostatic discharge(ESD). Bias voltages are at WCDMA(2.1GHz). WiBro(2.3GHz), and WLAN(2.45) are 0.5V, 0.95V and 1.8V respectively. And the image rejection rations are more than 28dB at each band and insertion losses are less than 2dB at each band.

본 논문에서는 전기장 프로브 교정용 비대칭형 TEM cell의 설계과정과 제작결과에 대해 나타내었다. 2cm$\times$2cm인 시험 공간(test space)에서 전자기장의 균일도가 $\pm$2 ㏈내를 유지하면서, 제1공진 주파수는 1.5GHz 이하에서 출현하도록 하고 제2공진 주파수는 약 GHz에서 출현할 수 있도록 제작하였다. 제작 결과 계산된 결과와 실험된 데이터가 일치함을 볼 수가 있었다.

In this paper, the variational method are used for the filter analysis methods and a CAD program for the design of the waveguide low-loss bandpass filters using inductive window structures for the VSAT(Very Small Aperture Terminal) system has been developed based on the passband correction method combined with fiter synthesis procedures. Using the developed CAD program, 0.01dB equi-ripple chebyshev type 6-section bandpass filters which are sued in the VSAT system operating nationally are designed for the purpose of the Down-link of 12.75~13.25GHz and the Up-link of 14.0~14.5GHz, fabricated and mesured. The measured results are good agreement woth the theoretical resuls.

본 논문에서는 모바일 컨버젼스 단말기를 위한 Tunable Image Rejection Filter를 구현 하였다. 이 필터는 TSMC 0.25um 공정을 이용해 시뮬레이션 되었다. 또한 정전기로 인한 소자의 파괴를 방지하기 위해 ESD 패드(Electro Static Discharge Pad)를 추가하였다. 영상 주파수 저지 특성은 WCDMA(2.1GHz), WiBro(2.3GHz), WLAN(2.45) 대역에서 모두 28dB 이상이고, 이때 바이어스 전압은 각각 0.5V, 0.95v, 1.8V의 전압을 가지게 되었다. 삽입 손실은 세 대역에서 모두 2dB 이하이다.

The SSPA makes the power level of EIRP up to 16W, and compensates for temperature to the SSPA´s maximum stability. The up and the down converters are dually conversed like as individual synthesizers for selecting of independent transmit-receive transponder. The function of the up-converter is to convert the 70MHz IF signal modulated in the indoor unit modem into a 14.0 ∼ 14.5 GHz Ku-band up-link signal to be sent to the antenna. The down-converter converts the 12.25 ∼ 12.75 GHz Ku-band down-link signal or a trouble malfunction of SSPA may be a fatal factor to operation of the whole satellite communication network. 본 논문은 IEEE 802.11a 무선 LAN 규격을 OFDM을 적용한 5GHz 기저 대역의 송 수신부 모뎀을 설계하고 FPGA로 실현하였다. 고속 데이터 전송시 발생하는 심벌간 간섭(ISI)을 제거하기 위하여 Normalized LMS 알고리듬을 적용한 단일탬 등화기를 사용하여 제거하였고, 또한 반송파 주파수 옵셋 알고리듬을 이용하여 채널간 간섭(ICI)을 제거하였다. 송ㆍ수신기간의 전송은 에러없이 정확히 전송되어짐을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 입증하였으며, 또한 타이밍 시뮬레이션 결과 최대 동작주파수는 20.3MHz로 IEEE 802.11a 무선 LAN 방식의 동작속도를 만족하였다. 그리고 설계시 DSP와 EMB(Embedded Memory Block)블록을 사용하여 레지스터의 수를 상당히 줄일 수 있었다. 모뎀 설계는 VHDL를 이용하여 설계하고 Altera사의 Stratix EPIS25FC672 FPGA Chip을 사용하여 구현하였다.

최근 'Cycle 25'의 태양 활동 극대기가 다시 도래함에 따라 우주기상 연구에 대한 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 이에 WRC(World Radiocommunication Conference)-23에서는 의제 9.1a)를 채택하여 능동/수동 우주기상 관측시스템과 기존 업무와의 주파수 공유 연구 결과를 검토해 나가고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 우주기상 환경 데이터의 정밀도를 높이고 관측 서비스의 주파수 스펙트럼 확보를 위해 제주 고산 기상 레이더로부터 제주 한림의 우주기상 관측 수신기에 미치는 직접 간섭영향과 레이더 목표물에서의 회절 및 산란에 의해 관측 수신기에 미치는 간접 간섭영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 레이더 방향 및 목표물로부터 회절 및 산란되는 전파 방향, 레이더 목표물의 RCS(radar cross section), 우주기상 관측 안테나의 수신 면적 및 오프 보어 사이트(off-boresight) 등이 간섭 영향 분석에 중요 파라미터임을 알 수 있다.
