Gas-liquid bubble column reactors are extensively used in industrial processes. A detailed knowledge of bubble size distribution is needed for determining the mass transfer in gas-liquid film. Experimental data on bubble size distribution and liquid-side mass transfer coefficient($k_L$) were used to calculate the estimated time to saturation in bubble column reactor. Also, the gas flux was evaluated to the liquid-side mass transfer coefficient($k_L$) and solubility data for hydrogen sulfide($H_2S$) and chlorine($Cl_2$) absorption into water. Simulation results show that $H_2S$ absorption time to 50 % of saturation concentrations are 611 sec and 1,329 sec when bubble diameters are 0.5 mm and 4.5 mm, while absorbing 1 % $H_2S$ gas. In case of $Cl_2$, absorption time range 657 to 1,400 sec when bubble size range 0.5 mm to 4.5 mm, while absorbing 1 % $Cl_2$ gas. Calculated simulation results can be used in the design of emergency relief bubble reactors.
A gas sensor which has been made by wet process had fabricated by coating each of the mixture on alumina tube and firing at 85$0^{\circ}C$ for 3hrs. A gas concentration such $H_2$, CO, $C_3H_8$, $C_2H_2$ and $CH_4$ vs its detection voltage characteristics has been in-vestigated on $SnO_2-In_2O_3-MgO$ system doped with PdO, $La_2O_3$, $ThO_2$, NiO and $Nb_2O_5$ The optimum sensitivity composition for various gases were 90w/o $SnO_2$-9w/o $In_2O_3$-1w/o MgO for $H_2$, $C_2H_2$ CO and $C_3H_8$ and 95w/o $SnO_2$-4w/o $In_2O_3$-1w/o MgO for $CH_4$. The sample which has been made by wet process than dry process had predominated sensitivity for each gases and particle size of the sample coprecipitated with PH=9 was 0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ The $SnO_2$-In2_O_3-MgO$ system doped with 2w/o $Nb_2O_5$ and NiO was the most sensitive for $H_2$ and $C_2H_2$ gas. In $SnO_2$-In2_O_3-MgO$ system doped with $ThO_2$ the sensitivity of $H_2$ gas was decreased but CO gas was in-creased when dopant con was increased.
In order to examine the effects of $O_2$ saturation and pH on gas-bubble disease of blue crab, portunus trituberculatus, zoeal larvae were reared under 5 different concentrations (6.0, 4.0, 3.1, 2.2, and 0.7million cell/cc) of Chlamydomones sp. under natural light for 4days. Observed pH and $O_2$ saturation in the rearing chamber increased drastically from 12 to 18 o'clock with the increasing of Chlamydomones sp. concentrations, but rapidly decreased from 2 to 6 o'clock in the rearing chamber. Gas-bubble disease of zoeal larvae was observed 4hours after starting of experiment at the pH 8.5 and 118% $O_2$ saturated conditions in rearing chamber during the day, and recovered rapidly with the decreasing of pH and $O_2$ saturation at night. Thus, gas-bubble disease of zoeal larvae was repeated with the increased pH($\geq$8.5) and $O_2$ saturation ($\geq$118%) almost every days. Mortality of zoeal larvae was observed when pH and $O_2$ saturations were reached 8.5 and 118% levels respectively, and deteriorated with the increasing of water temperature, pH and $O_2$ saturation.
We present the results from our comparisons of HCN and HCO+ (J=4-3) with HI and $H_2$ gas in NGC 6946, a sample from a mapping study of the dense molecular gas in the strongest star-forming galaxies (MALATANG). The MALATANG is one of the JCMT legacy surveys on the nearest 23 IR-brightest galaxies beyond the Local Group, which aims to study the relations of dense molecular gas with more general cool gas such as atomic and molecular hydrogen gas, and star formation properties in active galaxies. In this work, we particularly focus on the comparisons between the JCMT HCN/HCO+ (J=4-3) data and the THINGS HI/the NRO CO (J=1-0) data. We probe the dense molecular gas mass as a function of HI and $H_2$ mass in different locations in the central ${\sim}1.5kpc^2$ region. We discuss how the excess/deficit of $HI/H_2$ or total cool gas ($HI+H_2$) mass controls the presence and/or the fraction of dense molecular gas.

Pure $In_2O_3$, 0.5 and 1.0 wt% Mg doped $In_2O_3$ hollow spheres were synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis of a solution containing In-, Mg-nitrate and sucrose and their gas sensing characteristics to 5 ppm $C_2H_5OH$, p-xylene, toluene, and HCHO were measured at 250, 300 and $350^{\circ}C$. Although the addition of Mg decreases the specific surface area and the volume of meso-pores, the gas response (resistance ratio) of the 0.5 wt% Mg doped $In_2O_3$ hollow spheres to 5 ppm $C_2H_5OH$ at $350^{\circ}C$ (69.4) was significantly higher than that of the pure $In_2O_3$ hollow spheres (24.4). In addition, the Mg doped $In_2O_3$ hollow spheres showed the highest selectivity to $C_2H_5OH$. This was attributed to the dehydrogenation of $C_2H_5OH$ assisted by basic MgO into reactive $CH_3CHO$ and $H_2$.

Perfluorocompounds (PFCs) gases were decomposed by gliding arc plasma generated by AC pulse power. $N_2$ gas of 10 LPM flow rate and $H_2$ gas of 0.5 LPM were introduced into the gliding arc plasma generated between a pair of electrodes with SUS 303 material, and the PFCs gases were injected in the plasma and thereby were decomposed. The PFCs gas-decomposition-characteristics through the gliding arc plasma were analyzed by FT-IR, where pure $N_2$ and $H_2$-added $N_2$ environment were used to generate the gliding arc plasma. The PFCs gas-decomposition-properties were changed by electric power for gliding arc plasma generation and the H2 gas addition was effective to enhance the PFCs decomposition rate.
Our research objectives are to determine under what conditions microalgal-based $CO_2$capture from flue gases is economically attractive. Specifically, our objective here was to select microalgae that are temperature, pH and flue gas tolerant. Microalgae were grown under five different temperatures, three different pH and five different flue gas mixtures besides 100% $CO_2$(gas concentrations that the cells were exposed to ranged 5.7-100% $CO_2$, 0-3504ppm SO$_2$, 0-328ppm NO, and 0-126ppm NO$_2$). Our results indicate that the microalgal strains tested exhibit a substantial ability to withstand a wide range of temperature (54 strains tested), pH (20 strains tested) and flue gas composition (24 strains tested) likely to be encountered in cultures used for carbon sequestration from smoke stack gases. Our results indicate that microalgal photosynthesis is a limited but viable strategy for $CO_2$capture from flue gases produced by stationary combustion sources.

Experimental study of UV-irradiated O2/H2 gas phase cleaning for PMMA (Polymethylmethacrylate) removal is carried out in a load-locked reactor equipped with a UV lamp and PBN heater. UV enhanced O2/H2 gas phase cleaning removes polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) better at lower process pressure with higher content of H2. O2 gas compete for UV (184.9 nm) absorption with PMMA producing O3, O(1D) and lower dissociation of PMMA. In our experimental conditions, etching reaction of PMMA at the substrate temperature between 75℃ and 125℃ had activation energy of about 5.86 kcal/mol indicating etching was controlled by surface reaction. Above the 180℃, PMMA removal was governed by a supply of reaction gas rather than by substrate temperature.

Multiwall carbon nanotubes are synthesized by using VLS mechanism for the application to $H_2$ gas sensor. MWCNT is not suitable for hydrogen gas sensor due to its low response to the gas. To enhance the gas sensing performance, multiwall carbon nanotubes are coated with $TiO_2$ nanoparticles. Scanning electron microscopy and Transmission electron microscopy showed that the synthesized MWCNT were well dispersed with the diameter and wall thickness of approximately 10-30nm and 5nm, respectively. The MWCNT sensor showed the sensitivities of 1.33-9.5% for the $H_2$ concentration of 100-5000ppm at room temperature. These sensitivities are significantly improved to 6.64-46.65% by coating $TiO_2$ nanoparticles to the MWCNT sensor. The mechanisms of $H_2$ gas sensing improvement of the MWCNT sensor coated with $TiO_2$ nanoparticles are discussed.

The effects of $H_2S$ gas ratio, temperature and time on the case depth, hardness, and sulfide and nitride formation on the surface of sulfnitrided SCM440 steel have been studied by micro-pulse plasma technique. The thickness of compound layer of sulfide and nitride increased with the increase of time, temperautre and $H_2S$ gas ratio. But surface hardness decreased with the increase of soft sulfide layer because the hard nitride layer formed beneath the sulfide. The thickness of sulfide layer was about 10$\mu\textrm{m}$ abpve 0.0088% of $H_2S$ gas. The highest surface hardness of the compound layer was Hv835 at $530^{\circ}C$, 1hr and 0.06% of $H_2S$ gas. X-ray diffraction indicated that the surface products were $Fe_{1_x}S$, $Fe_{2.5}N$ and $Fe_4N$. It was confirmed by EPMA that sulfide only existed in the surface.
