A Study on Adult Women′s Clothing Shopping Orientation and Response to the Shop-master s Attitude (성인여성의 쇼핑성향과 샵마스터의 태도에 대한 반응 연구)

  • The study is designed to classify consumer groups based on their clothing shopping orientation and to examine the relationship among clothing shopping orientation, satisfaction to the shop-master, and factors of the shop-master's nature to understand clothing shopping orientation of women from 18 to 35. The final analysis was performed with 447 (consumers) ailed 336 (shop-masters) pieces of questionnaire. The data was analysed with SAS statistics package. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Clothing shopping orientation were composed of four dimensions : recreational shopping orientation, convenience/economic shopping orientation, store/brand loyalty shopping orientation, and shopping confidence. 2. In the satisfaction to the shop-master, the consumer was not satisfied by the appearance, product-presentation, and consumer-management of the shop-master but kindness, trust, and product-explanation by the shop-master. The shop-master guessed that consumers were completely satisfied. 3. The consumer had an influence on product-understanding, response, and consumer-understanding of the shop-master, and the shop-master guessed that consumers had an influence on every thing of shop-master. 4. The more consumers were store/brand loyal, the more they were satisfied with tole shop-master, and had an influence on the factors of the shop-master's nature. But consumers were confident on the shopping, were not shown to be significantly different in the satisfaction of the shop-master and the factors of the shop-master's nature.

The Effects of Multi-Shop's Store Image on the Store Loyalty and Brand Switching Behavior (멀티샵의 점포이미지가 점포충성도 및 상표전환행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine if multi-shop's store image affects store loyalty and brand switching. Two hundred fifty females and males who have purchased fashion products in multi-shop participated in this survey. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Pearson's correlation and regression analysis were used for this study. The results were as followed. First, respondents' the most favorite multi-shop was MUE, followed by Boon the shop and ABC mart. Second, store image was classified into four factors such as store atmosphere, service of store, store recognition and product variety. Store loyalty was classified into five factors such as emotional relationship, pursue of novelty, trust about salesperson, satisfaction about service, and active loyalty. Third, result revealed that 'product variety' and 'store atmosphere', 'store recognition', 'service of store' accounted for 39.6% of the explained varience in store loyalty, and 'store recognition' accounted for 4% of the explained varience in brand switching behavior, while 'trust about salesperson', 'pursue of novelty' accounted for 5% of the explained varience in brand switching behavior. Based on these results, multi-shop's fashion marketing strategy would be suggested.

A Study of Awareness Level Based on the Classification in Optical Shop Name - Foucused on University Students in Their Twenties and Thirties - (안경원 상호 분류에 따른 선호도에 관한 연구 - 20~30대 대학생을 중심으로 -)

  • Purpose: This study analyzed the names of optical shops currently used in Korea and is to investigate the optical shop names that customers prefer. Methods: We used the 351 names of optical shop all over the country as a sample, and surveyed 296 people aged between 20s~30s in Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces to collect the data. Results: The most used names are currently English names (54.4%) and names of with 2 syllables (30.5%) and 3 syllables (32.5%). For more than 4 syllables, the names included Eye (26.0%) and Glasses (24.3%) are being used a lot. For the name awareness, Korean names (63.0%) was the highest and followed by 1syllable (34.5%) and 5 syllables (20.9%). Conclusions: For the improvement of optical shop awareness, Korean name with 1 to 3 syllables and words related glasses are recommended.

The Functional Transition of Traditional Shop House in Modern age of Korea - Focused on Maehwa Marketplace in Uljin - (전래 시장옥(市場屋)의 기능적 변화특성에 관한 연구 -경북 울진군 매화1리 매화장시를 중심으로-)

  • This paper aims to clarify the spatial form and functional transition of Korean traditional shop house in Maehwa marketplace, Uljin. The general form of Korean traditional shop house of Maehwa marketplace was the timbered house of the tin roof built in the 1960s. As the scale of a building being comparatively small-scale, building area is $60m^2$ and the yard was mainly made behind the building. When the spatial form of Korean traditional shop house is considered, the composition of 4 by 2 is most. And in the front of a building, the shop is located, and when the back of a building prepares a residence, integration of a sales function and a habitation function is seen. The shop of Korean traditional shop house is converted into living space by change of the function, and the position is the middle of a front of building. This is considered as what inherited the Korean lifestyle. And the last, Although it is not different from the appearance of the shop house of other areas, since there are few grades of the change in comparison, the extension situation of Korean traditional shop house is recognized as an example important for future research.

  • To increase the productivity and efficiency of an enterprise, all relevant product information should be provided to shop floor workers timely and in a unified form because shop floor workers are final consumers of most accumulated information generated from various departments of an enterprise. But, most existing enterprise information systems have an emphasis upon providing design/manufacturing information to office workers. Proposed in this study is the development of integrated design/manufacturing information system focused on providing cohesive information required to shop floor activities. For developing integrated information system, the functional requirements at the shop floor are identified and analyzed. Based on the extracted functional requirements, object-oriented system design and implementation is conducted. By using this system, shop floor workers can use all relevant information required to their daily operation in a integrated and unified form.

A Qualitative Study on Customer Management and Response of Apparel Shop Masters

  • The purpose of this study was to categorize customers types in accordance with current shop masters' perception of difficult customers and to identify their responding techniques and know-hows in dealing with those customers in detail, a qualitative study is carried out by conducting thorough interviews with the shop masters. The interview contained questions on occupational hold-ups of shop masters, types of hard-to-handle customers, techniques in handling difficult customers, their know-hows in customer managements and what they perceived as the qualities of a shop master. T The results were as follows: 1) Customers who are perceived as difficult by shop masters are categorized into six types, making unreasonable demands, pointing out product defects, disregarding salespersons, making no purchase after testing products, having no personality and having no response. 2) Responding techniques for difficult customers were categorized into three types, 'active response', 'standby' and 'polite refusal'. 3)The result from the question on know-hows of shop masters in customer management can be divided into 4 groups, providing special treatment or information, building one-to-one relationship with the customer, suggesting garments in accordance with the customer's taste and providing friendly customer service. 4) For the question on perceived qualities as a shop master, individual quality, customer management capacity, work experience and occupational knowledge were answered.

  • The study was done to provide domestic fashion multi-shops with basic Information about the distribution and the promotion strategies through an investigation the marketing strategies for domestic multi-shop dealt with imported product only. Data were collected from Interview with a buyer or a staff of marketing department of Domestic Fashion Multi-shop dealt with Imported Product only. The results were as follows: For the distribution strategies, these fashion multi-shops as chosen were all placed in department stores. Their distribution channels were diverse like road shop, shop in department store and shop under direct management of department store. In case of shop in department store, it was common that the shop paid a definite commission to the department store. But S shop was managed directly by a department store as an advanced buying system that department store bought and sold goods and held themselves responsible for overstock. For the promotion strategies, these fashion multi-shops didn't make a definite budget for advertising and publicity contrary to other one-brands. But they attached importance to visual merchandising (VMD) because they had to harmonized the concept of a shop with various brands. Also they concentrated on seasonal fashion show, management of their customers and personal sales.

  • Nowadays coustomer's needs for high surface quality steel sheet has greatly increased, so it is necessary to pay more attention to the roll grinding, texturing and handling. POSCO can acquire high surface quality roll and high productivity through World-first fully automated Roll Shop system which had been constructed '94.10.1∼'97.8.28 at Kwangyang Works. Roll Shop Automation System consists of Level-I, II, III control system and 23 automated machines. After the completion of the construction, the system started smoothy and keeps its operation with high productivity as expected. The installation of this system gave an epoch-making man power saving. This paper introduce its main facilities and operation.

  • Lighting in a fashion shop has an effect on customers, highlights the products on the shelf, and has become more important. Even though lighting has a significant effect on customers, the studies on fashion shop lighting have primarily focused on how to create lighting which can influence customers' purchase behavior, and their awareness and expectation. On the contrary, it's been hard to find a study on a quantified fashion shop lighting plan considering customer confidence. In a current fashion shop lighting plan, display lighting is planned indiscreetly. Therefore, this study conducted an investigation of the light environment of the current fashion shop and museum exhibits lighting. Through such processes, the possibility of applying fashion store display lighting environments was investigated. Finally, for the assessment of museum exhibitions lighting applying fashion store display lighting environments, a subjective evaluation method using light simulation was proposed.

Babies' Wear Shopping Behavior of Housewives by Their Fashion Lifestyle (주부의 의생활양식에 따른 유아복 점포행동)

  • The purpose of the Present research is to investigate the effect of fashion lifestyle on babies' clothing shopping attitude of housewives. In this study shopping attitude includes criteria for shop selection prefered types of shop and prefered shop atmosphere. Subjects are 447 housewives residing in Seoul Bundang Illsan and Pungchon and having child under 4 years old Data was analyzed by factor analysis cluster analysis analysis of variance and chi-square. The results of the study are as follows: 1. Housewives can be classified into four groups according to their fashion lifestyle the group of planned buying conservative/practical group the group of self-actualization/individuality and the high involved and care for shopping group. 2. Fashion lifestyle is different according to their age. The high involved and care for shopping group have the lager proportion in twenties than thirties. The conservative/practical group have a larger proportion in thirties. 3. The factors of shop selection which serve as criteria for shop the quality of service encironment anround shop quality of goods convenience to care about babies fashionable goods location of the shop and price of goods. The group of self actualization/personality prefers shops carrying fashionable and unique style of babies clothing and showing prestige. The conservative/practical group prefers shops carrying good quality clothing and having variety in size and design. The high involved and careful shopping group prefers shops having wide space as well as carrying fashionable goods. 4. Among the types of babies clothing shops. department stroe is the most preferred Low-price brand shop is followed by traditional open market. The conservative/practical group and the group of planned shopping use department strores national bran shops street shops and import shops more often than other groups. 5. The result of the study indicates there are considerable differences in housewives attitudes of babies clothing shopping acording to their own fashion lifestyle. Therefore the retailer of babies clothing should decide their marketing policy on the basis of the understanding and analysis of costomer's fashion lifestyle. And they have to reflect their costomer's shopping attitudes on their marketing policy to improve the satisfaction of both consumer and retailer as well.
