We suggest the C2 modeling method to develop a simulation model for training command groups which consist of commanders and staffs. By using C2 models in constructive simulation models, combat entities or units directly receive and execute orders from a command group without mediating human role players. We also compare combat results from suggested modeling method with the results of existing models by building and implementing a simulation model with C2 models. Our analysis by comparison demonstrates advantages of suggested method to model C2 for computer assisted exercises.

This study developed predictive models for the kinetic behavior of Staphylococcus aureus on processed cheeses. Mozzarella slice cheese and cheddar slice cheese were inoculated with 0.1 ml of a S. aureus strain mixture (ATCC13565, ATCC14458, ATCC23235, ATCC27664, and NCCP10826). The inoculated samples were then stored at $4^{\circ}C$ (1440 h), $15^{\circ}C$ (288 h), $25^{\circ}C$ (72 h), and $30^{\circ}C$ (48 h), and the growth of all bacteria and of S. aureus were enumerated on tryptic soy agar and mannitol salt agar, respectively. The Baranyi model was fitted to the growth data of S. aureus to calculate growth rate (${\mu}_{max}$; ${\log}CFU{\cdot}g^{-1}{\cdot}h^{-1}$), lag phase duration (LPD; h), lower asymptote (log CFU/g), and upper asymptote (log CFU/g). The growth parameters were further analyzed using the square root model as a function of temperature. The model performance was validated with observed data, and the root mean square error (RMSE) was calculated. At $4^{\circ}C$, S. aureus cell growth was not observed on either processed cheese, but S. aureus growth on the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses was observed at $15^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$, and $30^{\circ}C$. The ${\mu}_{max}$ values increased, but LPD values decreased as storage temperature increased. In addition, the developed models showed acceptable performance (RMSE = 0.3500-0.5344). This result indicates that the developed kinetic model should be useful in describing the growth pattern of S. aureus in processed cheeses.
Purpose: C57BL/6 mice, which are among the most common backgrounds for genetically engineered mice, are resistant to the induction of periodontitis by oral infection with periodontal pathogens. This study aimed to develop a periodontitis model in C57BL/6 mice using coaggregation between human pathogens and the mouse oral commensal Streptococcus danieliae (Sd). Methods: The abilities of Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCC 33277 (Pg33277), P. gingivalis ATCC 49417 (Pg49417), P. gingivalis KUMC-P4 (PgP4), Fusobacterium nucleatum subsp. nucleatum ATCC 25586 (Fnn), and F. nucleatum subsp. animalis KCOM 1280 (Fna) to coaggregate with Sd were tested by a sedimentation assay. The Sd-noncoaggregating Pg33277 and 2 Sd-coaggregating strains, PgP4 and Fna, were chosen for animal experiments. Eighty C57BL/6 mice received oral gavage with Sd once and subsequently received vehicle alone (sham), Fna, Pg33277, PgP4, or Fna+PgP4 6 times at 2-day intervals. Mice were evaluated at 5 or 8 weeks after the first gavage of human strains. Results: Fnn, Fna, and PgP4 efficiently coaggregated with Sd, but Pg33277 and Pg49417 did not. Alveolar bone loss was significantly higher in the PgP4 group at both time points (weeks 5 and 8) and in all experimental groups at week 8 compared with the sham group. The PgP4 group presented greater alveolar bone loss than the other experimental groups at both time points. A higher degree of alveolar bone loss accompanied higher bacterial loads in the oral cavity, the invasion of not only PgP4 but also Sd and Fna, and the serum antibody responses to these bacteria. Conclusions: Periodontitis was successfully induced in C57BL/6 mice by oral infection with a P. gingivalis strain that persists in the oral cavity through coaggregation with a mouse oral commensal bacterium. This new model will be useful for studying the role of human oral bacteria-host interactions in periodontitis using genetically engineered mice.

Characteristics of ohmic Ni/Si/Ni contacts to n-type 4H-SiC are investigated systematically. The ohmic contacts were formed by annealing Ni/Si/Ni sputtered sequentially The annealings were performed at 950℃ using RTP in vacuum ambient and N₂ ambient, respectively. The specific contact resistivity(p/sub c/), sheet resistance(R/sub s/), contact resistance (R/sub c/) transfer length(L/sub T/) were calculated from resistance(R/sub T/) versus contact spacing(d) measurements obtained from TLM(transmission line method) structure. While the resulting measurement values of sample annealed at vacuum ambient were p/sub c/ = 3.8×10/sup -5/Ω㎠, R/sub c/ = 4.9 Ω and R/sub T/ = 9.8 Ω, those of sample annealed at N₂ ambient were p/sub c/ = 2.29×10/sup -4/Ω㎠, R/sub c/ = 12.9 Ω and R/sub T/ = 25.8 Ω. The physical properties of contacts were examined using XRD 3nd AES. The results showed that nickel silicide was formed on SiC and Ni was migrated into SiC. This result indicates that Ni/Si/Ni ohmic contact would be useful in high performance electronic devices.
Purpose: Adhesion after flexor tendon injury is a result of fibrosis between tendon and tendon sheath. This, finally interfere with gliding mechanism of tendon and results in functional problem of hands. Therefore, there have been many trials to reduce adhesion around the tendon. However, there is no standard procedure clinically practiced in hospitals. Mitomycin-C is an antineoplastic alkylating agent that decrease fibroblast proliferation and scar formation. It is commonly used in many surgery to reduce postoperative adhesion. This study was designed to observe the effect of Mitomycin-C on preventing adhesion in injured flexor tendon. Methods: The deep flexor tendon of digit 2 and 4 in the left forepaw of 15 New Zealand White rabbits were subjected to partial tenotomy. In study group, injury site was exposed to a single 5-minute application of Mitomycin-C, and in control group was left untreated. Digit 2 and 4 in the right forepaw of each rabbit were considered as nonadhesion control group. After 2 weeks, the animals were sacrificed and digits were amputated for biomechanical test and histological study. Results: In biomechanical study to measure yield point, mean yield point of non-adhesion control was $17.43{\pm}2.33$ and $25.07{\pm}4.03$ for adhesion control, which proves increase of adhesion in adhesion control group (p<0.05) in 95% confidence. In Mitomycin-C group, mean yield point was $12.71{\pm}4.97$. Compared with adhesion control, there was decrease in adhesiveness in Mitomycin-C group (p<0.05) in 95% confidence. In histological study, the result of adhesion control revealed massive adhesions of bony structure, fibrotic tissue and tendon structure with ablation of the border. However in Mitomycin-C group, we could find increased fibrotic tissue, but adhesion is much lesser than adhesion group and borders between structures remain intact. Conclusion: This study suggests that Mitomycin-C can significantly reduce adhesion of injured flexor tendon in rabbit model.
This study applied choice experiment(CE) method(which is included in the stated preference method) to estimate values of some important attributes(i.e. type of estuary, water quality of river in estuary, water quality of sea in estuary, biodiversity level of estuary) of 4 major river(Hangang, Guemgang, Yeongsangang, Nakdonggang) estuaries in Korea. Although the multinomial logit model(MNL) is generally applied to analyse the CE data, testing for IIA assumption with the Hausman and McFadden test in MNL model shows that the IIA assumption in our data is rejected. Therefore, the heteroscedastic extreme value model(HEV) and the multinomial probit model(MNP) which are not based on the IIA assumption are used to analyse our CE data. As results, the coefficients and the elicited economic values of MNL model are seriously distorted if the IIA assumption is not satisfied in MNL model. The estimation results of MNP model show that the economic values are elicited as 352.3 billion won(95% C.I. 261.1 - 477.8 billion won) for natural estuary, 411.5 billion won(95% C.I. 338.5 - 525.5 billion won) for one grade improvement of river water quality in estuary, 358.9 billion won(95% C.I. 292.5 - 457.0 billion won) for one grade improvement of sea water quality in estuary, and 151.9 billion won(95% C.I. 99.0 - 218.6 billion won) for one grade improvement of biodiversity level of estuary. Therefore, the value of estuary is reached to 2,197.0 billion won(95% C.I. 1,721.0 - 2,879.9 billion won) if any natural estuary in 4 major rivers has good water quality of river in estuary(i.e. 2nd grade), good water quality of sea in estuary(i.e. 1st grade), and good biodiversity level of estuary.
The development of Myzus persicae (Sulzer) was studied at temperatures ranging from 15 to $32.5^{\circ}C$ under $70{\pm}5\%$ RH, and a photoperiod of 16:8 (L:D). Mortality of 1st-2nd nymph was higher than that of 3rd-4th nymph at the most temperature ranges whereas at high temperature of $32.5^{\circ}C$, more 3-4nymph stage individuals died. The total developmental time ranged from 12.4 days at $15^{\circ}C$ to 4.9 days at $27.5^{\circ}C$, suggesting that higher the temperature, faster the development. However, at higher end temperature ranges of 30 and $32.5^{\circ}C$, the development took 5.0 and 6.3 days, respectively. The lower developmental threshold temperature and effective accumulative temperatures for the total immature stage were $4.9^{\circ}C$ and 116.5 day-degrees. The nonlinear shape of temperature related development was well described by the modified Sharpe and DeMichele model. When the normalized cumulative frequency distributions of developmental times for each life stage were fitted to the three-parameter Weibull function, attendance of shortened developmental times was apparent with pre-nymph, post-nymph, and total nymph stages in descending order. The coefficient of determination $r^2$ ranged between 0.87 and 0.94.

A serious of study is carried out to practical use of the three-slot cambered otter board improved by the authors. As the first step, we designed main plates, slots and accessories, such as holding plate, fan-shaped towing plate, normans, center ring, etc. Standing on this design, we made the simple cambered and three-slot cambered model otter board with accessories in a linear scale 6:1. and carried out model test to examine the efficiency of these boards. The obtained results can be summarized as follows: 1. On the simple cambered board with accessories, the values of the maximum shear coefficient($C _{LX}$ ). drag coefficient(($C _{D}$) and hydrodynamic efficiency($C _{L}$/$C _{D}$ ) are 1.39, 0.56, 2.48 at $22^{\circ}$ of the angle of stall respectively. 2. On the three-slot cambered board with accessories, $C _{LX}$/$C _{D}$ and $C _{I}$/$C _{D}$ are 1.67, 0.92, 1.82 at $32^{\circ}$ of the angle of stall respectively. 3.$C _{LX}$ of board with accessories is smaller 10~12% than that of only the main plate, and the angle of stall is almost same. 4. $C _{LX}$ and the angle of stall of the three-slot cambered board with accessories are greater 20% and $10^{\circ}$ than that of the simple cambered board respectively.

The purpose of this study is to develope the strength prediction model by Maturity Method. A maturity function is a mathematical expression to account for the combined effects of time and temperature on the strength development of a cementious mixture. The method of equivalent ages is to use Arrhenius equation which indicates the influence of curing temperature on the initial hydration ratio of cement. For the experimental factors of this study, we selected the concrete mixing of W/C ratio 45, 50, 55 and 60% and curing temperature 5, 10, 20 and $30^{\circ}C$. And we compare and evaluate with logistic model that is existing strength prediction model, because we have to verify adaption possibility of new strength prediction model which is proposed by maturity method. As the results, it is found that investigation of the activation energy that are used to calculate equivalent age is necessary, and new strength prediction model was proved to be more accurate in the strength prediction than logistic model in the early age. Moreover, the use of new model was more reasonable because it has low SSE and high decisive factor.
Kinetic studies were made on the thermal decomposition of hydrated magnesium aluminum double sulfate by a nonisothermal TG method. Thermal analyses of the dehydration of tricosahydrate showed that the reaction proceeded via decahydrate to the anhydrous MgAl2(SO4)4 in the range 50$^{\circ}$to 400$^{\circ}C$. Decomposition of MgAl2(SO4)4 occurred as the two-step between 650$^{\circ}$ and 970$^{\circ}C$. Dehydration of MgAl2(SO4)4$.$23H2O and a 2D diffusion controlled with an activation energy of 16.6kcal/mole, respectively. MgAl2(SO4)4 fitted the contracting volume model with an activation energy of 10.5kcal/mole, and MgSO4 fitted a contracting area model with an activation of 4.5kcal/mole.
