Perceptual training on Korean obstruents for Vietnamese learners (베트남 한국어 학습자를 위한 한국어 자음 지각 훈련 연구)

  • This study aimed to reveal how Vietnamese adult learners at three different proficiency levels perceive Korean word-initial obstruents and whether errors can be corrected through perceptual training. To this end, 105 Vietnamese beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners were given perceptual training on Korean word-initial. The training materials were created by actively utilizing Korean minimal pairs as natural stimuli recorded by native speakers. Learners in the experimental group performed five 20-40 minute self-directed perceptual training sessions over a period of approximately two weeks, while learners in the control group only participated in the pretest and posttest. The results showed a significant improvement in the perception of sounds that were difficult to distinguish before training, and both beginners and advanced learners benefited from the training. This study confirmed that large-scale perceptual training can play an important role in helping Vietnamese learners learn the appropriate acoustic cues to distinguish different sounds in Korean.

Continuous Degradation of azo dye by Immobilized laccase (고정화 laccase에 의한 azo 염료의 연속 분해)

  • Laccase produced from Trametes sp. was immobilized on CNBr-activated Sepharose-4B (CAS4B) and tested for degradation of azo dyes. Laccase was efficiently immobilized on CAS4B. Immobilization of laccase on CAS4B increased pH, thermal and proteolytic stabilities. Optimum pH and temperature of immobilized laccase were pH 3 and 40$\^{C}$, respectively as same as those of free laccase. The K$\_$m/($\mu$mol/ml) values of free and immobilized laccase for Reactive Blue 19 as the substrate were 0.34 and 2.07, respectively V$\_$max/($\mu$mol/mL$.$min) values of them were 0.12 and 0.1, respectively. In repeated batch reactions, conditions retained high stability and degradation of dye for immobilized laccase were pH 5 and 30$\^{C}$. HBT didn\\`t decrease highly activity of immobilized laccase. Immobilized laccase was very stable for degrading dyes continuously in a packed-bed reactor containing laccase immobilized on CAS4B. For continuous degradation of 100 $\mu$M Reactive Blue 19 and 50 $\mu$M Acid Red 57 in the presence of 0.1 mM HBT under optimum conditions, immobilized laccase retained 70% of degradation ability even after 30 hours.

  • We have studied on the accommodation of people for 10~60ages at Honam residents and compared with the already known accommodation from age. Using Push-up method, we obtained results that average accommodation of each cases were 10ages 9.88D, 20ages 8.65D, 30ages 6.92D, 40ages 5.05D, 50ages 4.29D, 60ages 4.63D. Accommodation was on the decreased in increasing the ages but showed the very high accommodation in 50, 60ages on this study. We judged we should consider a accommodation research of other districts and near addition test.

Step Count Detection Algorithm and Activity Monitoring System Using a Accelerometer (가속도 센서를 이용한 보행 횟수 검출 알고리즘과 활동량 모니터링 시스템)

  • We have developed a wearable device that can convert sensor data into real-time step counts and activity levels. Sensor data on gait were acquired using a triaxial accelerometer. A test was performed according to a test protocol for different walking speeds, e.g., slow walking, walking, fast walking, slow running, running, and fast running. Each test was carried out for 36 min on a treadmill with the participant wearing a portable gas analyzer (K4B2), an Actical device, and the device developed in this study. The signal vector magnitude (SVM) was used to process the X, Y, and Z values output by the triaxial accelerometer into one representative value. In addition, for accurate step-count detection, we used three algorithms: an heuristic algorithm (HA), the adaptive threshold algorithm (ATA), and the adaptive locking period algorithm (ALPA). A regression equation estimating the energy expenditure (EE) was derived by using data from the accelerometer and information on the participants. The recognition rate of our algorithm was 97.34%, and the performance of the activity conversion algorithm was better than that of the Actical device by 1.61%.

  • In this paper developed a wearable activity device and algorithm which can be converted into the real-time activity and monitoring by acquiring sensor row data to be occurred when a person is walking by using a tri-axial accelerometer. Test was proceeded at various step speeds such as slow walking, walking, fast walking, slow running, running and fast running, etc. for 36 minutes in accordance with the test protocol after wearing a metabolic test system(K4B2), Actical and the device developed in this study at the treadmill with 59 participants of subjects as its target. To measure the activity of human body, a regression equation estimating the Energy Expenditure(EE) was drawn by using data output from the accelerometer and information on subjects. As a result of experiment, the recognition rate of algorithm being proposed was shown the activity conversion algorithm was enhanced by 1.61% better than the performance of Actical.

  • The lightning with high voltage and current can enter the basestations for mobile communication through their antenna. The device which can protect the basestation against the lightning, is surge arrestor. In this paper, the concept, kind, operating mechanism, design and fabrication of surge arrestor were studied. Based on the studied data, variable surge arrestors were designed for the current mobile communication service like a cellular, GSM and PCS and the next generation mobile communication like a IMT-2000. Computer simulation for the prediction of their characteristics and inner structure optimization for the improvement of their electrical characteristics were carried with high frequency 3D structure simulator. Quarter wave short stub surge arrestors for IMT-2000 were fabricated with their final design and then the measurement of electrical characteristics and the lightning test were executed. As a results of measurement, we obtained below 1.05 of VSWR, -0.035 dB of insertion loss, -150 dBc of intermodulation and 7∼ll V of residual voltage.

Scalable Data Provisioning Scheme on Large-Scale Distributed Computing Environment (대규모 분산 컴퓨팅 환경에서 확장성을 고려한 실시간 데이터 공급 기법)

  • As the global grid has grown in size, large-scale distributed data analysis schemes have gained momentum. Over the last few years, a number of methods have been introduced for allocating data intensive tasks across distributed and heterogeneous computing platforms. However, these approaches have a limited potential for scaling up computing nodes so that they can serve more tasks simultaneously. This paper tackles the scalability and communication delay for computing nodes. We propose a distributed data node for storing and allocating the data. This paper also provides data provisioning method based on the steady states for minimizing the communication delay between the data source and the computing nodes. The experimental results show that scalability and communication delay can be achieved in our system.

  • 높은 균일도의 대면적 OLED 조명을 만들기 위해서는 보조배선이 필요하다. 이 때 보조배선이 노출되면 보조배선에서 발생하는 누설전류로 인하여 디바이스가 효율적으로 구동이 되지 않는다. 그래서 누설전류를 막기 위하여 절연층을 사용하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 그라비아 오프셋 프린팅 방식으로 절연층을 형성 하였다. 그라비아 오프셋 프린팅 방식은 포토리소그래피 공법에 비해 공정이 간단하여 제작비용이 낮아지고, 친환경적인 이점이 있다. 절연층 재료로는 PVP 유기 절연체를 사용하였다. 이 PVP 유기 절연체는 PVP Poly-4-vinylphenol, Propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, 그리고 Poly(melamineco-formaldehyde) metylate 재료들을 적절한 비율로 혼합하여 제작하였다. 제작된 용액은 최대 1840cps의 점도를 가지고 있다. 이 PVP용액으로 인쇄 테스트를 진행하였다. 일반적으로 그라비아 오프셋 프린팅 방식에서는 고점도 재료가 사용되지만, 이 PVP용액은 낮은 점도에서도 프린팅이 잘 되는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 재료의 열처리는 $100^{\circ}C$에서 10분 건조 후 $200^{\circ}C$에서 15분의 큐어링을 진행하였다. 인쇄에 사용한 패턴의 선폭은 50um~100um로 구현하였으며, 약 120cps의 점도에서 선폭 및 해상도가 패턴과 가장 유사하게 나타났다. 인쇄 후의 절연층은 최종적으로 약 1um의 두께와 낮은 접촉각을 형성하였다. 누설전류는 전압 20V인가시 0.12pA/$cm^2$의 값을 가진다. 이 결과는 동일 두께의 스핀코팅과 비슷하였다. 우리는 이 결과값을 토대로 보조배선과 PVP 유기 절연층을 그라비아 오프셋 프린팅 방식으로 인쇄 한 OLED 조명을 제작하였다.

Design and Implementation of Co-Verification Environments based-on SystemVerilog & SystemC (SystemVerilog와 SystemC 기반의 통합검증환경 설계 및 구현)

  • The flow of a universal system-level design methodology consists of system specification, system-level hardware/software partitioning, co-design, co-verification using virtual or physical prototype, and system integration. In this paper, verification environments based-on SystemVerilog and SystemC, one is native-code co-verification environment which makes prompt functional verification possible and another is SystemVerilog layered testbench which makes clock-level verification possible, are implemented. In native-code co-verification, HW and SW parts of SoC are respectively designed with SystemVerilog and SystemC after HW/SW partitioning using SystemC, then the functional interaction between HW and SW parts is carried out as one simulation process. SystemVerilog layered testbench is a verification environment including corner case test of DUT through the randomly generated test-vector. We adopt SystemC to design a component of verification environment which has multiple inheritance, and we combine SystemC design unit with the SystemVerilog layered testbench using SystemVerilog DPI and ModelSim macro. As multiple inheritance is useful for creating class types that combine the properties of two or more class types, the design of verification environment adopting SystemC in this paper can increase the code reusability.

K Addition Effect of Co3O4-based Catalyst for N2O Decomposition (N2O 분해반응용 Co3O4 기반 촉매의 K첨가 효과)

  • $Co_3O_4$ catalysts for $N_2O$ decomposition were prepared by co-precipitation method. Ce and Zr were added during the preparation of the catalyst as promoter with the molar ratio (Ce or Zr) / Co = 0.05. Also, 1 wt% $K_2CO_3$ was doped to the prepared catalyst with impregnation method to investigate the effect of K on the catalyst performance. The prepared catalysts were characterized with SEM, BET, XRD, XPS and $H_2-TPR$. The $Co_3O_4$ catalyst exhibited a spinel crystal phase, and the addition of the promoter increased the specific surface area and reduced the particle and crystal size. It was confirmed that the doping of K improves the catalytic activity by increasing the concentration of $Co^{2+}$ in the catalyst which is an active site for catalytic reaction. The catalytic activity tests were carried out at a GHSV of $45,000h^{-1}$ and a temperature range of $250{\sim}375^{\circ}C$. The K-impregnated $Co_3O_4$ catalyst showed much higher activity than $Co_3O_4$ catalysts with promoter only. It is found that the K-impregnation increased the concentration of $Co^{2+}$ more than the added of promoter did, and lowered the reduction temperature to a great extent.
