Water gas shift reaction over ceria-zirconia-supported Pt catalysts at low temperature (저온 수성가스전화반응에서의 $Pt/CeO_2-ZrO_2$ 촉매 연구)

  • [ $Pt/CeO_2$ ] 촉매에 Zr을 첨가하여 우수한 저온 수성가스전화반응의 활성을 가진 촉매를 만들었다. $Pt/ZrO_2-CeO_2$ 촉매는 $Pt/ZrO_2$$Pt/CeO_2$ 촉매에 비해 Ce와 Zr의 상호작용에 의한 시너지 효과로 인해 CO chemisorption으로 측정한 Pt area가 증가하고 담체에 Pt가 잘 분산되었다. 또한, Zr이 첨가된 $Pt/CeO_2$는 Ce의 redox 능력을 향상시켜 support의 reducibility를 향상시켰다. 담체에 고르게 잘 분산되고 support의 산소저장능력과 reducibility가 향상된 $3\;wt\%\;Pt/ZrO_2-CeO_2$ 촉매들은 반응물에 수소와 이산화탄소의 첨가 유무와 상관없이 $3\;wt\%\;Pt/ZrO_2$$3\;wt\%\;Pt/CeO_2$ 촉매보다 우수한 활성을 보였다.

Composition Control of YSZ Thin Film Prepared by MOCVD

  • Zirconia films stabilized b $Y_2O_3$, YSZ, films were deposition by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) onto various kind of substrates. $Y_2O_3$, $ZrO_2$and the mixtures of these two were deposited and characterized. The deposition rate, the film composition and the structure could be systematically varied through the $Y(C_{11}H_{19}O_2)_3$, Zr(O.t-$C_H_9)_4$source gas ratios and the deposition temperature. The Y/Zr ratio in YSZ film could be adjusted by controlling the ratio of $Y(C_{11}H_{19}O_2)_3$, Zr(O.t-$C_4H_9)_4$partial pressures. This is because the ratios of the deposition rates of Y and Zr atoms in $Y_2O_3$and $ZrO_2$films to those in YSZ films, Ф, are constant irrespective of the input gas concentration. However, the Y/Zr ratio was found to be smaller than that estimated based on the deposition rates of un-mixed $Y_2O_3$and $ZrO_2$films. This is because the Фs of Y and Zr atoms are not equal. The activation energy of $Y_2O_3$component in YSZ films was similar to that of $ZrO_2$component in YSZ films. These YSZ values were more than 4 times larger than those of un-mixed $Y_2O_3$or $ZrO_2$films.

  • The influence of the ${Al_2}{O_3}$ particle size on flaw tolerance of the $ZrO_2/{Al_2}{O_3}$ composites prepared by mixing 5.31 mol% ${Y_2}{O_3}$-4.45 mol% ${Nb_2}{O_5}$-90.31 mol% $ZrO_2$ and ${Al_2}{O_3}$ was investigated. The composites exhibited rising R-curve behavior and plateau fracture toughness of 7.9 and $8.8MPam^{1/2}$ for the additions of 20 vol% of 0.2 and $2.8{\mu}m$ ${Al_2}{O_3}$ particles, respectively. The difference in the fracture toughness resistance was attributed mainly to the grain size of tetragonal $ZrO_2$ phase in the composites, which scaled with the ${Al_2}{O_3}$ particle size.

용액 공정 기반 ZrO2 절연막을 사용한 IGZO 박막 트랜지스터의 전기적 특성 향상 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 용액 공정 기반 ZrO2 절연막의 우수한 특성을 확인하기 위해 SiO2 절연막을 가지는 IGZO (Indium-Gallium-Zinc Oxide) 박막 트랜지스터와 비교했다. In:Ga:Zn=1:1:1의 비율의 0.3 M IGZO 용액과 0.2 M ZrO2용액을 사용하였다. ZrO2 박막 트랜지스터는 0.2M ZrO2 용액을 5번 반복 증착하며 140nm 두께의 ZrO2 절연막을 가지는 IGZO 박막 트랜지스터와 비교대상으로 동일한 두께의 SiO2의 절연막을 가지는 IGZO 박막 트랜지스터를 제작하였다. ZrO2 박막 트랜지스터의 문턱전압은 4.3V로 SiO2 박막 트랜지스터의 -6.1V보다 낮았고, 이동도는 $1.2356cm^2/V{\cdot}s$$0.0554cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ 보다 약 20배 높았다. 실험 결과를 통해 ZrO2를 절연막으로 사용한 박막 트랜지스터의 특성이 더 향상되었음을 확인하였다.

  • Yttria-bismuth-stabilized zirconia was investigated with respect to the amount of $Bi_2O_3$ addition in the ran-ge of 0.5~5mol% to the base composition of $(ZrO_2)_{0.92}(Y_2O_3)_{0.08}.Bismuth was introduced into the ma-terial with $Bi_2O_3-SiO_2$ glasses in order to reduce the evaporation of components. The sinterbility evaporation of components phase formation and microstructure were evaluated depending on the amount of $Bi_2O_3-SiO_2$ glass addition. Two probe A. C conductivity measurement was subjected to all the specimens and the result was discussed on the possible substitution of $Bi^{3+}$ for $Zr^{4+}$ and interistial $Si^{4+}$ in the fluorite structure of zirconia crystal there-upon the possible change in the capability of oxygen transference within the material. It was found that the addition of $Bi_2O_3$ could improve the sinterbility of material very much while not so much.oxygen sensing material suitable for relative low temperature firing.

  • Widely used dielectrics, barium titanate was promising material for ceramic capacitor. It was produced by specific formulation with various dopants-La2O3, ZrO2, SnO2, CaZrO3, CaTiO3, CaSnO3, Bi2O3, and etc.-according to demanded properties of capacitor. In this study, we would examinate the study of dielectric properties and temperatuer characteristics (T.C.) with the amount of Bi2O3. The sample was prepared with [BaTiO3]10+[BaZrO3, SnO2, La2O3, ZrO2]10 and Bi2O3 varied from 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 to 3.0wt%. After milling and mixing for 15hrs, each sample was dried and then pressed at 700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ into pellets. Pellets were fired at 131$0^{\circ}C$, for 3hrs in air. As the result of measurements, dielectric constant, break down voltage, and insulation resistance were increased with the amount of Bi2O3, and the resonant frequency was shifted from high frequency to low frequency range. In the case of temperature characteristics, capacitance change rate was symmetrically changed at -$25^{\circ}C$ and +85$^{\circ}C$ respectively. Therefore, it is recognized that the temperature characteristics can be moderated with doping Bi2O3 in our study.

Hydrothermal Precipitation of PZT Powder (PZT분말의 수열합성에 관한 연구)

  • Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 powders were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis. Using soluble salts such as Pb(NO3)2, TiCl4 and ZrOCl2$.$8H2O and oxide such as PbO and TiO2 as starting materials, PZT powder was hydrothermally synthesized at the temperature range between 150$^{\circ}C$ and 200$^{\circ}C$. The result showed that reactivity by alkali was decreased in the sequence of Pb(NO3)2, TiCl4, ZrOCl2, PbO, TiO2 and ZrO2. Using the first three soluble salts, PZT powder was synthesiged at 150$^{\circ}C$ for 1hr. In PbO-TiCl4-ZrOCl2 system, PZT powder was synthesized at 150$^{\circ}C$ for 8rs. In Pb(NO3)2-TiO2-ZrOCl2 system, PZT powder was synthesized at 150$^{\circ}C$ for 16hrs, in PbO-TiO2-ZrOCl2 system, the powder was synthesized at 200$^{\circ}C$ for 8hrs.

Characterization of Oxide Scales Formed on Ni3Al-7.8%Cr-1.3%Zr-0.8%Mo-0.025%B (Ni3Al-7.8%Cr-1.3%Zr-0.8%Mo-0.025%B 합금의 고온산화막분석)

  • The oxide scales formed on $Ni_3Al$-7.8%Cr-1.3%Zr-0.8%Mo-0.025%B after oxidation at 900, 1000 and 110$0^{\circ}C$ in air were studied using XRD, SEM, EPMA and TEM. The oxide scales consisted primarily of $NiO,\; NiAl_2O_4,\;{\alpha}-Al_2O_3,\; monoclinic-ZrO_2,\; and \;tetragonal-ZrO_2$. The outer layer of the oxide scale was rich in Ni-oxides, whereas the internal oxide stringers were rich in Al-oxides and $ZrO_2$. Within the above oxide scales, Cr and Mo tended to exist as dissolved ions.

Fabrication and Characteristic of ZrO2-8%Y2O3 Powder for Plasma Spray Coating Manufactured by Mechanical Mixing Method (기계적 혼합에 의한 플라즈마 용사용 ZrO2-Y2O3 분말의 제조 및 특성)

  • Thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) are being applied in many industrial fields such as thermal power generation, aviation and seasonal fields. $ZrO_2-Y_2O_3$(8%) thermal spray coating powders are commercially used as thermal-barrier coating materials to protect against oxidation and corrosion of heat-resistant alloys at elevated temperatures. Currently, $ZrO_2-Y_2O_3$(8%) thermal-spray powder is made using the industrial co-precipitation process, which is very complex and requires a lot of time. In this study, orthorhombic $ZrO_2$ and $Y_2O_3$ powders were fabricated by mechanical mixing, which is more economical than the co-precipitation process. A tetragonal, yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) coating-layer was produced by plasma spraying, using orthorhombic $ZrO_2-Y_2O_3$(8%) powder. Our experimental results indicate that $ZrO_2-Y_2O_3$(8%) mixed powder can be used economically in industry because it is no longer necessary to make this powder by liquid and gas-phase methods.

  • The strength and thermal shock resistance of $Al_2O_3-ZrO_2$ composites have been studied. The tetragonal $ZrO_2$ powder containing 1 mol.% $Y_2O_3$ and monoclinic $ZrO_2$ powder were prepared by coprecipitation method and subsequently mixed with $Al_2O_3$ powder and granulated by sieving. Duplex composites were prepared by dry mixing matrix agglomerate with 15 to 30 vol.% of dispersion agglomerate, followed by pressing and sintering at 1$600^{\circ}C$ for1 hr. These $Al_2O_3-ZrO_2$ 2 composites having heterogeneous structure showed improved thermal shock behaviors because of the microcracking and pores in dispersed granules, and compressive stresses around dispersed granules resulting from $ZrO_2$ transformation.
