The Efficient Coding Tools based 3-Dimensional Transform in H.264/AVC (H.264/AVC에서 3차원 변환에 기반을 둔 효율적인 동영상 압축 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose 3DTE(3-Dimensional Transform Environment) that is based on 3DT(Dimensional Transform) that performs 2-dimensional integer DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) based on $4{\times}4$ block and 1-dimensional integer DCT based on $4{\times}1$ block after collecting same frequency coefficients in neighboring $4{\times}4$ block and supports it's additional coding tools for high performance. The transform of 3DT can keep prediction error by using $4{\times}4$ block and reduce spatial redundancy additionally. The proposed 3DTE can provide coding tools to improve the coding efficiency with using 3DT. The performance of 3DTE compared to JM11.0 is average 3.58% and 5.40% bit savings for all test sequences and HD sequences, respectively, with keeping subjective video quality in High profile.

  • The CCITT recommendation X.3, X.20, X.29 and X.25 protocols have been efficiently used in subscriber site for the purpose of using existing C DTE In the ISDN. The Packet Assem-bly /Disasembly (PAD) which covers these protocols can connect C_DTE to the PSDN. The number of C DTE connected to the PAI) Is dependent on the PAD performance. Effect of emergency bell on door to ECG time in walk-in patients presented to emergency department with chest pain (흉통을 주소로 응급실에 내원한 환자에서 심전도 촬영 소요 시간에 대한 응급벨 제도의 효과)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to explore whether emergency bell could shorten door to electrocardiograms (ECG) time in chest pain patients presenting to emergency department (ED) by self-transport. Methods: This was a planned 6-month before-and-after interventional study design. We set up the emergency bell in walk-in patients' waiting room. Prior to the change, patients were triaged before an ECG was obtained. In new process, as soon as patient with chest pain push the emergency bell, emergency physicians examined patient and prioritized performing ECG. We analyzed door to electrocardiograms (DTE) times for patients with chest pain and ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients between two periods. Results: During the enrollment period, a total of 63 patients called emergency bell. The median DTE time was 6 min (interquartile range: 3.0 - 9.0) and 82.5% received an ECG within 10 minutes, and only three patients were STEMI. DTE time in patient with chest pain was not different between two periods (p=0.980). Before intervention period, 15 walk-in patients admitted in ED for STEMI and 53.8% of STEMI patients received an ECG within 10 minutes. After intervention period, total 19 walk-in patients admitted in ED for STEMI. Of these, 89.5% met the time requirement. Conclusion: Because a small portion of patients with chest pain activated the emergency bell, new strategy for promotion of emergency bell must be needed.

Study on the NiAl Coating for Corrosion Resistance of Stainless Steel in Molten Carbonate Salt (용융탄산염에 대한 스테인레스강의 내식성 향상을 위한 NiAl 피복에 관한 연구)

  • '4 NiAl coating process was applied on 316 stainless steel to retard the corrosion of the wet- seal area of separator for the molten carbonate fuel cell. The Nit11 phasc on the stainless steel substrate could be formed by pre-coating with Ni, plated with A1 and ther, heat treated at $800^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr in $H_2/N_2$ gas atmosphere. The corrosion protection behavior of YiAl coating layer was stuilied under immersion condition in molten cxhonate salt($62^{m}/_{o}Li_2CO_3-38^{m}/_{o}/K_{2}CO_{3}$) at $650^{\circ}C$. The NiAl coating layer ticposited on the AiSi 316 stainless steel had high corrosion resistance in molten carbor. dte salt. The corrosion resistance of XiAl (~~jpoared to be associated with the .A1 oxide formed on the surface of coating layer.

Analysis of Emerging Geo-technologies and Markets Focusing on Digital Twin and Environmental Monitoring in Response to Digital and Green New Deal (디지털 트윈, 환경 모니터링 등 디지털·그린 뉴딜 정책 관련 지질자원 유망기술·시장 분석)

  • After introducing the industry 4.0 policy, Korean government announced 'Digital New Deal' and 'Green New Deal' as 'Korean New Deal' in 2020. We analyzed Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM)'s research projects related to that policy and conducted markets analysis focused on Digital Twin and environmental monitoring technologies. Regarding 'Data Dam' policy, we suggested the digital geo-contents with Augmented Reality (AR) & Virtual Reality (VR) and the public geo-data collection & sharing system. It is necessary to expand and support the smart mining and digital oil fields research for '5th generation mobile communication (5G) and artificial intelligence (AI) convergence into all industries' policy. Korean government is suggesting downtown 3D maps for 'Digital Twin' policy. KIGAM can provide 3D geological maps and Internet of Things (IoT) systems for social overhead capital (SOC) management. 'Green New Deal' proposed developing technologies for green industries including resource circulation, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS), and electric & hydrogen vehicles. KIGAM has carried out related research projects and currently conducts research on domestic energy storage minerals. Oil and gas industries are presented as representative applications of digital twin. Many progress is made in mining automation and digital mapping and Digital Twin Earth (DTE) is a emerging research subject. The emerging research subjects are deeply related to data analysis, simulation, AI, and the IoT, therefore KIGAM should collaborate with sensors and computing software & system companies.
