  • 본 논문에서는 CRW 무인 항공기에 사용되는 타원익형과 전기체의 공력해석 및 동체와 로터를 연결하는 허브주위의 공기역학적 현상에 대한 분석을 수행하였고 허브로 인한 항력 증가를 감소할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 또한 항력 감소를 위해 제안한 fairing 장착방법을 풍동시험을 통해 그 효과를 확인하였다.

  • Numerical simulations for various fluid flows require enormous computing time during iterations. In order to solve this problem, several techniques have been proposed. A SOR method is one of the effective methods for solving elliptic equations. However, it is very difficult to find the optimum relaxation factor, the value of this factor for practical problems used to be estimated on the basis of expertise. In this paper, the implication of the relaxation factor are translated into fuzzy control rules on the basis of the expertise of numerical analysers, and fuzzy controller incorporated into a numerical algorithm. From two cases of study, Poisson equation and cavity flow problem, we confirmed the possibility of computational acceleration with fuzzy logic and qualitative reasoning in numerical simulations. Numerical experiments with the fuzzy controller resulted in generating a good performance.

OOP 개념에 기초한 유동해석용 전처리 프로그램 개발 (Development of a Pre-Processing Program for Flow Analysis Based on the Object-Oriented Programming Concept)

  • A pre-processing program based on the OOP(object-oriented programming) concept has been developed. The program consists of the input of a 2D or 3D flow problem to a CFD program by means of an user-friendly interface and the subsequent transformation of this input into a form suitable for the solver(PowerCFD) using unstructured cell-centered method. User-friendly GUI(graphic user interface) has been built on the base of MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class). The program is organized as modules by classes based on VTK(Visualization ToolKit)-library, and these classes are made to function through inheritance and cooperation which is an important and valuable concept of object-oriented programming. The major functions of this program are introduced and demonstrated, which include mesh generation, boundary settings, solver settings, generation of grid connectivity and geometric data etc.

삼차원 직교 격자 생성을 위한 단면 커브를 이용한 옥트리 생성과 셀 절단 알고리듬 (Octree Generation and Clipping Algorithm using Section Curves for Three Dimensional Cartesian Grid Generation)

  • Recently, Cartesian grid approach has been popular to generate grid meshes for complex geometries in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) because it is based on the non-body-fitted technique. This paper presents a method of an octree generation and boundary cell clipping using section curves for fast octree generation and elimination of redundant intersections between boundary cells and triangles from 3D triangular mesh. The proposed octree generation method uses 2D Scan-Converting line algorithm, and the clipping is done by parameterization of vertices from section curves. Experimental results provide octree generation time as well as Cut-cell clipping time of several models. The result shows that the proposed octree generation is fast and has linear relationship between grid generation time and the number of cut-cells.

Numerical Modeling of an Inductively Coupled Plasma Based Remote Source for a Low Damage Etch Back System

  • Fluid model based numerical analysis is done to simulate a low damage etch back system for 20 nm scale semiconductor fabrication. Etch back should be done conformally with very high material selectivity. One possible mechanism is three steps: reactive radical generation, adsorption and thermal desorption. In this study, plasma generation and transport steps are analyzed by a commercial plasma modeling software package, CFD-ACE+. Ar + $CF_4$ ICP was used as a model and the effect of reactive gas inlet position was investigated in 2D and 3D. At 200~300 mTorr of gas pressure, separated gas inlet scheme is analyzed to work well and generated higher density of F and $F_2$ radicals in the lower chamber region while suppressing ions reach to the wafer by a double layer conducting barrier.

인간 동력 항공기의 2차원 익형을 이용한 정적 안정성 및 동적 안정성 해석

  • 항공기의 비행 안정성을 판별하기 위해서는 정적(static)안정성과 동적(dynamic)안정성을 모두 고려해야 한다. 본 연구는 EDISON_CFD의 KFLOW_EDISON_2D3DOF, 2D_Com_P해석자를 이용해 2차원익형의 정적(static)계수와 동적(dynamic)계수를 구해 항공기 전체형상의 정적 안정성 및 동적 안정성을 분석하였다. 그 중 2015년도 인간 동력 항공기대회 건국대학교 참가 기체를 예시로 연구를 진행하였다. 주익 익형 SG6043과 미익 익형 NACA0012을 EDISON_CFD를 이용하여 각 익형의 모멘트계수를 구하고 그 결과값을 이용하여 기체의 무게중심에 대한 각 익형의 감쇠계수를 계산하였다. 그리고 주익과 미익의 면적비율과 코드길이의 비율을 고려해 전체 항공기형상의 안정성과 비행 형태를 분석하였다.

재생냉각 연소실의 냉각성능 해석 (Cooling Performance Analysis of Regeneratively Cooled Combustion Chamber)

  • 경험식을 이용한 1차원 해석에 의하여 30톤급 재생냉각 연소기의 냉각 유로 설계를 수행하였다. 1차원 해석에 의한 벽온도는 3차원 CFD 해석과 비교하여 약 100 K의 온도차이를 보였다. 동일한 냉각성능을 유지하면서 냉각 채널의 최대 폭이 4mm 와 2mm인 두 가지 설계안을 제시하였다. 냉각유체의 압력강하는 20% 증가할 것으로 예측되었다. 열차 폐 코팅과 탄소 침착물의 열저항을 고려한 경우, 최대 벽온도는 700K로 예측되었다. 본 연구에서 제시한 냉각 방법은 용량이 부족한 것으로 판단되는 바 막냉각이 추가적으로 적용되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

Comparative study of turbulent flow around a bluff body by using two- and three-dimensional CFD

  • In this study, the turbulent flow around a bluff body for different wind velocities was investigated numerically by using its two- and three-dimensional models. These models were tested to verify the validity of the simulation by being compared with experimental results which were taken from the literature. Variations of non-dimensional velocities in different positions according to the bluff body height were analysed and illustrated graphically. When the velocity distributions were examined, it was seen that the results of both two- and three-dimensional models agree with the experimental data. It was also seen that the velocities obtained from two-dimensional model matched up with the experimental data from the ground to the top of the bluff body. Particularly, compared to the front part of the bluff body, results of the upper and back part of the bluff body are better. Moreover, after comparing the results from calculations by using different models with experimental data, the effect of multidimensional models on the obtained results have been analysed for different inlet velocities. The calculation results from the two-dimensional (2D) model are in satisfactory agreement with the calculation results of the three-dimensional model (3D) for various flow situations when comparing with the experimental data from the literature even though the 3D model gives better solutions.

PIV와 CFD에 의한 LNG선박의 Hood room 환기특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ventilation Characteristics of LNG Carrier Hood room by PIV and CFD)

  • LNG Carriers are currently known as sole commercial means of shipping natural gas on the sea. They are designed to proven dangerous explosion for shipping a lot of gas over long distance. In this study. In this study, a scaled model chamber was made to investigate ventilation characteristics of the hood room in LNG carrier. Experimental study was performed in model using visualization equipments with laser apparatus and image intensifier CCD camera gated by an AOM controller Twelve different kinds of measuring area were selected as experimental condition. Instant simultaneous velocity vectors at whole field were measured by using 2-D PIV system which software adopts two-frame grey-level cross correlation algorithm. To look into stagnation area of hood room for LNG carrier, a three-dimensional numerical simulation with standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model was carried out by using PHOENICS for three kinds of Reynolds number, $6.5{\times}10^3$, $9.7{\times}10^3\;and\;1.29{\times}10^4$, based on the cavity inlet velocity and cavity height. The flow pattern showed the large scale counter-clockwise forced-vortex rotated at center area, small eddies at each corner and stagnation area located at left-back upper side of model.

Numerical Analysis of Axial-Flow Cyclone Separator for Subway Station HVAC System Pre-Filter

  • In the Korean subway station, three types of pre-filters, which include auto filter, electrostatic precipitator (ESP) and auto cleaning demister, are widely used. However, these devices have some problems such as the difficulty of maintenance and high operating cost. In this study, axial-flow cyclone separator was employed as a pre-filter inside a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. 3-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was performed on a single unit axial-flow cyclone and coupled unit axial-flow cyclone. Calculated and measured pressure drop of the designed axial-flow cyclone were found be comparable to other types of pre-filters and the observed cut-off diameter was less than 10 micron. Considering lower operating and maintenance cost, axial-flow cyclone was proved to be a better solution as a pre-filter.
