듀얼 노즐 FDM 프린터에서 노즐 간의 간섭을 최소화하는 모델의 빌드 방향 최적화를 위한 방법 (A Method for Optimizing Building Position of Model to Minimize Interference between Nozzles in FDM with Dual-nozzles)

  • 3D printing techniques can be used in various application fields and many researches have been reported. FDM (Fused Deposition modeling) can make multi-material or multi-color models with the simultaneous use of two or more filaments. In a dual-nozzle FDM printers, while the active nozzle is working, the remaining nozzle will be idle. The remaining molten resins inside an idle nozzle can ooze out unwantedly. The spill over from the resting nozzle produces unwanted remaining on the fabricated product. In this research, we suggest a method for optimizing building position of a model to minimize the unwanted spill-over that could possibly contaminate the final product. The method is based on minimizing the two intersection volumes. The first intersection volume is obtained by intersecting the volume defined by the first material and the Minkowski sum between the volume of the first material and the vector obtained by subtracting the center point of the first nozzle from the center point of the second nozzle. The second intersection volume can be obtained by reversing the role of the first and second volumes and nozzles. Some results obtained from the implementation using the Parasolid (Siemens) geometric modeling kernel is presented.

  • 지하광산 물리모형은 그 시각적인 효과로 인해 광산 개발 및 컨설팅 과정에서 광산공동 설계 또는 공정관리 등의 효율성을 제고하는 데 매우 유용하다. 다양한 기업에서 갱내를 3차원 영상으로 구현하는 기술이 개발된 바 있지만, 현재까지도 갱도 전체를 가시적으로 파악하기 쉬운 물리모형이 널리 이용되고 있다. 기존의 물리모형 제작 방법은 종이나 아크릴 등의 재료를 이용하여 수작업으로 모형을 제작하므로 정밀도가 떨어지고 소요시간 및 비용이 매우 큰 단점이 있다. 따라서, 이 연구에서는 최근 각 분야에서 널리 활용되고 있는 3D프린팅 기술을 적용하여 지하광산 갱도의 물리모형을 저비용으로 정밀하고 신속하게 제작하는 기법을 개발하였으며, 최종적으로, 소프트웨어 "UMine2STL"을 개발하고 광산 갱도 일부를 출력하여 그 활용성을 검증하였다.

조선시대 조각보의 입체적 표현을 통한 3D패턴 텍스타일 디자인과 패션상품 개발 (Development of Fashion Product and 3D Pattern Textile Design through the Three-Dimensional Expression based on Jogakbo in Chosun Dynasty Period)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop 3D pattern textile design of traditional Jogakbo motifs and fashion products using it. As a research method, first, through literature review, the three-dimensional representation of geometry on a plane with Jogakbo, design cases were examined. Second, through a survey, the purchase perception and design preference of Jogakbo cultural products was analyzed. Third, based on the results of the survey on color and print, the 3D pattern design for each type of Jogakbo is printed, and then textile fashion cultural products were developed. The results of this study are as follows. First, the reason why the public was not attracted to the purchase of cultural products was disatisfaction with practicality, unsuitable preference, price adequacy, aesthetics, and originality. Therefore, it was analyzed that quality, practicality, price, carry-on storage harmony and manageability, as well as aesthetic design were important factors for consumers. Second, the stereoscopic space on the plane expanded the two-dimensional plane space by forming a cube through the division and dissolution of geometry could be visualized using color expression of cubes of different brightness depending on the direction of light. Third, Jogakbo had eight types consisting of four detailed forms and three arrangement methods. The 3D pattern design could be developed through regular disolution and stereoscopic construction using Jogakbo's representative images for each type. In addition, it was found that it was easy to produce Jogakbo fashion products suitable for modern people through 3D pattern digital textile printing applying traditional colors.

3D 프린터 다중 관리를 위한 IoT 시스템 설계 (Design of IoT System for 3D PRINTER Multi-Management)

  • 4차 산업혁명에 맞춰 제조·생산의 패러다임 또한 변경되고 있는 상황에서 인더스트리 4.0에 대한 사회적 요구 및 방향은 이미 되돌릴 수 없으며, 그로 인하여 3D프린팅 기술의 확장성과 범용성이 주목받고 있다. 3D 프린터는 제품 개발 비용 감소를 위한 목적으로 개발된 기술로, 최근 3D 프린터 기술특허가 만료되면서 관련 기술이 공개되었고 이를 적용한 다양한 기술이 연구 개발되고 있으며 이로 인해 다양한 특이점이 발견 및 보완되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 3D 프린터 사용에 있어 오프라인에서 기계를 직접 조정하고, 모델링 데이터의 직접 입력을 통해 3D프린팅 시작해야 하는 현재 출력방식에 대한 불편함을 보완하기 위해 다중 3D 프린터에 대한 실시간 온라인 출력요청 및 정상적인 출력물을 기대할 수 있는 모니터링 기능 그리고 다중 3D 프린터에 대한 온라인 실시간 원격관리 기능을 수행하기 위해 IoT 시스템에 대한 설계를 제안한다.

CAE 성형해석 데이터의 사출금형 설계 활용 방법에 관한 연구 (A study on the injection mold design application method of CAE mold analysis data)

  • Cell phone injection is characterized by its small size and thinness. In addition, the product has a short cycle time, requiring a very short production schedule. To produce more accurate products faster, data from experience in producing similar products is required. In this study, two mobile phone models are presented. In this study, the quality problems caused by molding analysis and actual injection molding were analyzed and made into a database. As a result, it was considered that all the defects in the molding analysis do not affect the product in some cases, rather than appear as defects in the actual product. All defects shown in the molding analysis can be made into a database, and based on this data, it will be possible to obtain an effect that can predict more accurately whether it will cause problems after injection.

  • The purpose of this study is to define mass customization in the apparel industry and to discover, the apparel industry's potential to deliver customized apparel products. Different from product-centered mass Production, mass customization is focusing on customers' unique needs. The goal of mass customization is for customers to find exactly what they want at a reasonable price. Using new technologies such as 3-D body scanning and digital printing, mass customization can give customers customfit and personalized garments. Mass customization can satisfy a customer in terms of personalization, fit and design. Adoption of mass customization will open new opportunities for the apparel manufacturer of the future. Mass customization is a strategy that apparel manufacturers should consider for their goals.

A Study of Product Design using Recycled Materials

  • Plastics that we use and simply throw away have a life span of about 500 years and barely decompose. The practice of producing and using common plastics needs to be challenged. Until now, they have been useful in the industrial structure of mass production, but it can be said that there is a lack of research into new materials to introduce and apply in terms of material recycling. As a result of this, we have come to the uncomfortable realization of the fact that we cannot incinerate or reuse these precious resources indiscriminately. No matter how well-designed a product is, it has a competitive advantage if production and consumption activities, waste, collection, sorting and treatment are considered in terms of a continuous cycle, and in this respect, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) can help. We are implementing the EPR system, and active industrialization in the field of recycling is required, which is also a challenge for producers to participate actively in recycling and seek to save and recycle resources in design and manufacturing. Against this backdrop, We would like to examine the possibilities, through various studies and developments on product design of recyclable materials, which is being conducted mainly in Europe. In particular, we would like to examine the methods, and value of solving environmental problems and the active efforts to achieve this in the design world, and in particular the case of product design using recycled plastics.

3D 프린팅 노즐의 일체형 압출기 쿨링 시스템 개발 (Developing Integrated Compressor Cooler System of 3D Printing Nozzle)

  • In a large 3D printer when the cooler, which cools the filament, acts in one direction, the area directly exposed to the cooling is cooled to the proper temperature. However, the cooling effect on the opposite area is relatively less. It was found in experiments that filaments with a thickness of over 2 mm exhibit the cooling problem in one directional cooling. Consequently, cooling was performed to prevent the flow-down and to produce firm support leading to an improvement in product quality in extrusion. Further, the lay-up of a 3D printer with five guides combined with a duct was achieved. Analysis showed that the improvement in the cooling effect enables stable extrusion and lay-up and thus, reduces fabrication time.

FDM 풀 컬러 3D프린터 GUI디자인 사용성을 위한 체크리스트 개발 (FDM Full Color 3D Printer GUI Design Development of Checklist for Usability)

  • 최근 3D프린터의 발전에 따라 실제 제품과 유사하게 제작하고 싶은 니즈가 늘어가고 있다. 이에 따라 FDM 풀 컬러 3D프린터가 개발되어 활발하게 보급되고 있으나, GUI디자인은 그에 미치지 못하여 사용자로 하여금 혼란을 야기한다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 문헌조사를 진행하였고, 사례 조사를 통하여 FDM 풀 컬러 3D프린터의 현황을 파악하고 선행연구를 바탕으로 GUI디자인의 구성요소를 분석하였다. 도출한 GUI디자인의 구성요소에 맞춰 체크리스트 초안을 도출하였으며, 세 차례의 델파이 조사를 통해 초안 50항목 중 24항목을 삭제하였으며 나머지 26가지 항목에 대한 타당성을 검증하였다. 그 결과 레이아웃은 직관적인 화면 구성과 사용빈도가 높은 메뉴 위주로 구성하여야 하며, 텍스트는 직관적으로 눈에 띄며 기능을 명확하게 전달하여야 한다. 또한 아이콘은 눈에 잘 보이는 위치에 위치하고 실생활에서 차용하여 이미지화하여야한다. 마지막으로 컬러는 강조색을 사용하여 사용자에게 피드백을 주고, 출력물과의 색상이 겹치지 않도록 하여야 함을 알 수 있었다.

UV LED를 이용한 가정용 소독기의 디자인 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on the design development of a domestic disinfector using UV LED)

  • UV LED 적용하여 가정용 소독기를 제조하기 위한 디자인을 연구하였다. UV LED 살균거리 및 시간데이터에 근거하여 가정용 소독기 디자인 개념을 제시하였다. 컴퓨터 보조디자인 소프트웨어, 3D 프린트, 레이저 절달 등 기술을 사용하여 3가지 서로 다른 UV LED 작동방식의 모델을 제작하였다. 이 모델 대해 장단점 분석을 진행하여 최종 디자인 방안을 도출하였다.
