Design of Transportation Safety system with GPS Precise Point Positioning (고정밀 GPS 항법정보 기반 선박통항안전시스템 설계)

  • Most of the maritime accidents are the crash that occurred by complex coastal terrain, increased maritime traffic and frequent weather changes. Therefore, transportation safety is exactly determined using accurate environmental informations, but if informations are inaccurate or insufficient, accident risk can be increased. Therefore, ship need the system that can accurately generate transportation safety information. This paper proposes the transportation safety system and performance evaluation in the real environment. The proposed system includes database of environment informations and navigation algorithm using PPP method to estimate the accurate ship position. Therefore, this system can accurately calculate distance or freeboard between ship with other factors. Futhermore, when weather is deteriorated, crew can sail with database based 3-D monitoring module in the transportation safety system. To verify the function and performance, data of Kyungin ARA waterway and ferry is used to evaluation.

  • GPS is an efficient system in surveying and car navigation. but it is difficult to catch minimum number of satellite when it is hindered by obstacle such as city area. GLONASS system doesn't have perfect constellation yet, but it has many similarities with GPS system in principle of point positioning and signal system. so, it is expected to be much efficient when it is used with GPS system. For the purpose of this, the coordinates of GPS and GLONASS system, the quality of time and frequency was investigated, and the algorithm of point positioning was made. also, the efficiency of GPS/GLONASS combination was presented by analysing the precision of 3D point positioning using C/A code and Yuma satellite orbit information.

  • This paper presents results of flight experiments on a navigation algorithm including multiplicative extended Kalman filter for estimating attitude of the guided munition. The filter describes orientation of aircraft by data fusion with low-cost sensors where measurement update is done by multiplication, rather than addition, which is suitable for quaternion representation. In determining attitude from vector observations, the existing approach utilizes a 3-axis accelerometer as a 2-axis inclinometer by measuring gravity to estimate pitch and roll angles, while GNSS velocity is used to derive heading of the vehicle. However, during accelerated maneuvers such as coordinated flight, the accelerometer provides inadequate inclinometer measurements. In this paper, the measurement update process is newly defined to complement the vulnerability by using different vector observations. The acceleration measurement is considered as a result of a centrifugal force and gravity during turning maneuvers and used to estimate roll angle. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through flight experiments.

Efficient generation of concentric mosaics using image-strip mosaicking (스트립 영상 배치를 이용한 동심원 모자익의 효율적인 생성)

  • In general, image-based virtual environment is represented by panoramic images created by image mosaic algorithm. The cylindrical panoramic image supports the fixed-viewpoint navigation due to the constraints of construction. Shum proposed concentric mosaics to allow users to navigate freely within a circular area[10]. It is constructed by a sequence of images which is acquired from a regularly rotating camera. Concentric mosaics technique, proposed by Shum, is considered as 3D plenoptic function which is defined three parameters : distance, height and angle. In this paper, we suggest an effective method for creating concentric mosaics, in which we first align a set of strip images on the cylinder plane and stitch the aligned strips to build a panoramic image. The proposed method has no constraints such as regular panning motion of camera. Furthermore, our proposed method minimizes the use of interpolation image to create a novel view images from the concentric mosaics. It allows the result image on a novel view to have better quality with respect to the number of input images.

On the Evaluation of Physical Distribution Service in Ports (항만물류서비스의 평가에 관하여)

  • It is required to consider pricing and non-pricing factors and external economy in order to achieve the objects of physical distribution system in a port. Recently, among the three factors, much attention has been paid to non-pricing factor in the system. Although physical distribution service in a port(PDSP)has been frequently mentioned in documents and literature related to port and shipping studies, few study on it has not been systematically and scientifically made due to the following problems; $\circ$ there are not proper criteria to evaluate level and quality of PDSP and as a result it is difficult to set up a unified standard for doing so. $\circ$ algorithms to evaluate problems with complex and ambiguous attributes and multiple levels in PDSP are not available. This thesis aims to establish a paradigm to evaluate PDSP and to abvance existing decision making methods to deal with complex and ambiguous problems in PDSP. To tackle the first purpose, extensive and thorough literature survey was carried out on general physical distribution service, which is a corner stone to handle PDSp. In addition, through interviews and questionnaire to the expert, it have extracted 82 factors of physical distribution service in a port. They have been classified into 6 groups by KJ method and each group defined by the expert's advice as follows; a. Potentiality b. Exactness c. safety d. Speediness e. Convenience f. Linkage Prior to the service evaluation, many kinds of its attributes must be identified on the basis of rational decision owing to complexity and ambiguity inherent in PDSP. An analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is a method to evaluate them but it is not applicable to PDSP that have property of non-additivity and overlapped attributes. Therefore, probablility measure can not be used to evaluate PDSP but fuzzy measure is required. Hierarchical fuzzy integral method, which is merged AHP with fuzzy measure, is also not effective method to evaluate attributes because it has vary complicated way to calculate fuzzy measure identification coefficient of attributes. A new evaluation algorithm has been introduced to solve problems with multi-attribute and multi-level hierarchy, which is called hierarchy fuzzy process(HFP).Analysis on ambiguous aspects of PDSP under study which is not easy to be defined is prerequisite to evaluate it. HFP is different from algorithm existed in that it clarified the relationship between fuzzy measure and probability measure adopted in AHP and that it directly calculates the family of fuzzy measure from overlapping coefficient and probability measure to treat and evaluate ambiguous and complex aspects of PDSP. A new evaluation algorithm HFP was applied to evaluate level of physical distribution service in the biggest twenty container port in the world. The ranks of the ports are as follows; 1.   • This paper reports a research to develop a methodology and a tool for understanding of very large and complex real-time software. The methodology and the tool mostly developed by the author are called the Architecture-based Real-time Software Understanding (ARSU) and the Software Re/reverse-engineering Environment (SRE) respectively. Due to size and complexity, it is commonly very hard to understand the software during reengineering process. However the research facilitates scalable re/reverse-engineering of such real-time software based on the architecture of the software in three-dimensional perspectives: structural, functional, and behavioral views. Firstly, the structural view reveals the overall architecture, specification (outline), and the algorithm (detail) views of the software, based on hierarchically organized parent-chi1d relationship. The basic building block of the architecture is a software Unit (SWU), generated by user-defined criteria. The architecture facilitates navigation of the software in top-down or bottom-up way. It captures the specification and algorithm views at different levels of abstraction. It also shows the functional and the behavioral information at these levels. Secondly, the functional view includes graphs of data/control flow, input/output, definition/use, variable/reference, etc. Each feature of the view contains different kind of functionality of the software. Thirdly, the behavioral view includes state diagrams, interleaved event lists, etc. This view shows the dynamic properties or the software at runtime. Beside these views, there are a number of other documents: capabilities, interfaces, comments, code, etc. One of the most powerful characteristics of this approach is the capability of abstracting and exploding these dimensional information in the architecture through navigation. These capabilities establish the foundation for scalable and modular understanding of the software. This approach allows engineers to extract reusable components from the software during reengineering process.
