선박 블록 단위의 대용량 JT 파일을 안드로이드 기기에서 가시화하는 방법 (A Method for Visualizing a Large JT File of Ship Blocks in an Android Device)

  • In shipbuilding, 2D manufacturing drawings are crucial for building a ship. Even various types of 3D models are being utilized for supporting ship manufacturing, which does not reduce the importance of 2D drawings. Recently things are changing in the shipbuilding industry. To reduce the number of 2D drawings or to reduce the quantity of information contained in 2D drawings, some attempts that can substitute for 2D drawings are being made. One of the attempts is to visualize lightweight 3D manufacturing models in a mobile device. In this paper, a method for displaying lightweight 3D models of a ship in an Android based device is introduced. To overcome the problem with parsing JT files in Android system, JT files are parsed in a Windows based server and as-simple-as-possible visualization data are transmitted to an Android based viewer. A comparison result with a commercial system is also given.

원자로 격납건물의 3차원 구조해석시스템 (Three-Dimensional Structural Analysis System for Nuclear Containment Building)

  • 본 논문에서는 원자로 격납건물의 3차원 해석을 수행할 수 있는 구조해석 시스템을 구축하여 제시하였다. 구조해석 시스템은 고성능 평판 및 쉘 유한요소를 요소 라이브러리로 추가하였고, 비부착식 텐던과 부착식 텐던의 거동을 정확하게 모사할 수 있는 모델링방법을 포함하고 있다. 이러한 기능을 프로그래밍하고 범용 구조해석프로그램 DIANA에 접목시켜 원자로 격납건물의 비선형해석은 물론이고 내압능력 평가가 가능하다. 본 논문에서 제안한 3차원 구조해석 시스템의 신뢰성을 확인하기 위해 중수로형 원자로 격납건물의 구조해석을 수행하여 다른 기관에서 수행한 축대칭 구조해석 결과와 비교분석하였다.

  • In these days, the management and visualization of 3D geo-spatial information is regarded as one of an important issue in GiS and remote sensing fields. 3D GIS is considered with the database issues such as handling and managing of 3D geometry/topology attributes, whereas 3D visualization is basically concerned with 3D computer graphics. This study focused on the design and implementation for the OpenGL API-based rendering system for the complex types of 3D geo-spatial features. In this approach 3D features can be separately processed with the functions of authoring and manipulation of terrain segments, building segments, road segments, and other geo-based things with texture mapping. Using this implementation, it is possible to the generation of an integrated scene with these complex types of 3D features. This integrated rendering system based on the feature-based 3D-GIS model can be extended and effectively applied to urban environment analysis, 3D virtual simulation and fly-by navigation in urban planning. Furthermore, we expect that 3D-GIS visualization application based on OpenGL API can be easily extended into a real-time mobile 3D-GIS system, soon after the release of OpenGLIES which stands for OpenGL for embedded system, though this topic is beyond the scope of this implementation.

  • Recently, Building Information Modeling(BIM) has become a hot topic in the construction industry such as quantity calculation, interference check, process management, and construction cost management. It is also trying to convert the existing 2D design to 3D design and introduce the BIM in various fields, thus, many new deliverable are being presented but there are many issues due to the lack of standard guides on the preparation and delivery criteria for such new deliverable and how to utilize performance data. Therefore, In order to develop the electronic delivery process, we analyzed the process related to the delivery of BIM digital models presented in domestic and international BIM guidelines and the delivery of products from the Korea National Railway. The analysis focused on the list of achievements, delivery process, quality review standards, and the utilization code system of the Korea National Railway through BIM guidelines and the National Railroad Service's business procedures. Based on these analysis results, it presents a plan to construct an functional module of electronic delivery.

AUTOMATED HAZARD IDENTIFICATION FRAMEWORK FOR THE PROACTIVE CONSIDERATION OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY

  • Introducing the concept of construction safety in the design/engineering phase can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of safety management on construction sites. In this sense, further improvements for safety can be made in the design/engineering phase through the development of (1) an automated hazard identification process that is little dependent on user knowledge, (2) an automated construction schedule generation to accommodate varying hazard information over time, and (3) a visual representation of the results that is easy to understand. In this paper, we formulate an automated hazard identification framework for construction safety by extracting hazard information from related regulations to eliminate human interventions, and by utilizing a visualization technique in order to enhance users' understanding on hazard information. First, the hazard information is automatically extracted from textual safety and health regulations (i.e., Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) Standards) by using natural language processing (NLP) techniques without users' interpretations. Next, scheduling and sequencing of the construction activities are automatically generated with regard to the 3D building model. Then, the extracted hazard information is integrated into the geometry data of construction elements in the industry foundation class (IFC) building model using a conformity-checking algorithm within the open source 3D computer graphics software. Preliminary results demonstrate that this approach is advantageous in that it can be used in the design/engineering phases of construction without the manual interpretation of safety experts, facilitating the designers' and engineers' proactive consideration for improving safety management.

3D numerical analysis of piled raft foundation for Ho Chi Minh City subsoil conditions

  • Piled raft foundations are widely used and effective in supporting high-rise buildings around the world. In this study, a piled raft system was numerically simulated using PLAXIS 3D. The settlement comparison results between the actual building measurements and the three-dimensional (3D) numerical analysis, were in good agreement, indicating the usefulness of this approach for the evaluation of the feasibility of using a piled raft foundation in Ho Chi Minh City subsoil. The effects were investigated of the number of piles based on pile spacing, pile length, raft embedment on the settlement, load sharing, bending moments, and the shear force of the piled raft foundation in Ho Chi Minh City subsoil. The results indicated that with an increased number of piles, increased pile length, and embedding raft depth, the total and differential settlement decreased. The optimal design consisted of pile numbers of 60-70, corresponding to pile spacings is 5.5-6 times the pile diameter (Dp), in conjunction with a pile length-to-pile diameter ratio of 30. Furthermore, load sharing by the raft, by locating it in the second layer of stiff clay, could achieve 66% of the building load. The proposed model of piled raft foundations could reduce the total foundation cost by 49.61% compared to the conventional design. This research can assist practicing engineers in selecting pile and raft parameters in the design of piled raft foundations to produce an economical design for high-rise buildings in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, and around the world.

모바일 증강 현실 및 항공사진을 이용한 건물의 3차원 모델링 (Towards 3D Modeling of Buildings using Mobile Augmented Reality and Aerial Photographs)

  • 본 논문에서는 모바일 증강 현실 시스템 및 항공사진을 이용하여 건물의 부분적 3D 모델을 생성하고, 이를 비디오 영상과 비교하여 사용자의 위치를 실시간으로 추적하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 미리 생성된 모델을 사용하는 대신, 시스템 동작 중에 사용자 뷰와 항공 뷰를 결합하여 3D 모델을 생성한다. 우선 GPS의 위치에 따라 데이터베이스로부터 검색된 항공사진과, 피치를 추정하는 관성 센서를 이용하여 사용자의 초기 자세를 계산한다. 그리고 그래프 컷을 이용하여 건물의 상단의 에지를 검출하고, 제안된 비용 함수를 최소화함으로써 하단의 에지와 모퉁이 위치를 찾는다. 실시간으로 사용자의 자세를 추적하기 위해, 사용자가 관촬 중인 건물의 에지 및 벽면에서의 특이점을 이용하여 추적을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 최소 자승 추정법과 언센티트 칼만 필터를 사용하여 카메라 자세 추정 방법을 구현하고 비교하였다. 또한 두 방법에 대하 속도와 정확도를 비교하고, Anywhere Augmentation 시나리오에 대한 중요한 기본 구성 요소들로서 실험결과의 유용성을 보였다.

CM(ConstructionManagement)에의 효율적 BIM활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the good use of Construction Management Model based on BIM)

  • The CM(Construction Manager) of D-university has been seeking the advice of my BIM-team to adopt CM(Construction Management) and BIM best practices to improve project delivery results, and has authored best practice reports for spatial validation, BIM, 3D, 4D and 5D performance. Building Information Modeling(BIM) Process, Integration, and Adoption looks at BIM implementation from a company and project level laying out a process for companies to use BIM. Following this studies, participants will be able to: 1. BIM participants has been creating a BIM process diagram for a project, and has been evaluating and selecting process options for a specific BIM project. 2. BIM participants has been describing the roles and responsibilities of participants in the BIM process, and has been communicating the BIM process to management, colleagues, and project stakeholders. 3. BIM participants has been identified consistent factors influencing BIM return on investment at the project level and the company level, and has been outlining a process for BIM adoption on the project level and company level.

증강현실 시각화를 위해 K-최근접 이웃을 사용한 BIM 메쉬 경량화 알고리즘 (BIM Mesh Optimization Algorithm Using K-Nearest Neighbors for Augmented Reality Visualization)

  • 최근 BIM (Building Information Modeling)과 AR (Augmented Reality)을 결합한 실시간 시각화 기술이 건설관리 의사 결정 및 처리 효율성을 높이는 데 도움이 된다는 것을 보여주기 위한 다양한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나, 대용량 BIM 데이터는 AR에 적용할 경우 데이터 전송 문제, 이미지 단절, 영상 끊김 등과 같은 다양한 문제가 발생함으로 3차원(3D) 모델의 메쉬 최적화를 통해 시각화의 효율성을 향상시켜야 한다. 대부분의 기존 메쉬 경량화 방법은 복잡하고 경계가 많은 3D 모델의 메쉬를 적절하게 처리할 수 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 고성능 AR 시각화를 위해 BIM 데이터를 재구성하기 위한 k-최근접이웃(KNN) 분류 프레임워크 기반 메쉬 경량화 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안 알고리즘은 선정된 BIM 모델을 삼각형 중심 개념 기반의 Unity C# 코드로 경량화하였고 모델의 데이터 세트를 활용하여 정점 사이의 거리를 정의할 수 있는 KNN로 분류되었다. 그 결과 전체 모델과 각 구조의 경량화 메쉬 점 및 삼각형 개수가 각각 약 56 % 및 약 42 % 감소됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 결과적으로, 원본 모델과 비교했을 때 경량화한 모델은 시각적인 요소 및 정보 손실이 없었고, 따라서, AR 기기 활용 시 고성능 시각화를 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • Recently various types of digital maps are widely available through the internet. Such e-maps have an advantage that user can easily get the information of destination by using only the search function. But these e-naps are based on 2D coordinate system so that they have limits that the virtual shapes of ground are very different from the real ones. Therefore, for more actual services of location information, we made a 3D model of Yonsei University with JAVA 3D and VRML technology and built the 3D e-map of Yonsei University, which is applied through the interaction between the web server and clients.
