  • To directly engrave circuit-line patterns as wide as $6{\mu}m$ in a buildup film to be used as an IC substrate, we applied a projection ablation technique in which an 8 inch dielectric ($ZrO_2/SiO_2$) mask, a DPSS 355nm laser instead of an excimer laser, a ${\pi}$-shaper and a galvo scanner are used. With the ${\pi}$-shaper and a square aperture, the Gaussian beam from the laser is shaped into a square flap-top beam. The galvo scanner before the $f-{\theta}$ lens moves the flat-top beam ($115{\mu}m{\times}105{\mu}m$) across the 8 inch dielectric mask whose patterned area is $120mm{\times}120mm$. Based on the results of the previous research by the authors, the projection ratio was set at 3:1. Experiments showed that the average width and depth of the engraved patterns are $5.41{\mu}m$ and $7.30{\mu}m$, respectively.

  • Creating individualized build-up material for superficial photon beam radiation therapy at irregular surface is complex with rice or commonly used flat shape bolus. In this study, we implemented a workflow using 3D printed patient specific bolus and describe our clinical experience. To provide better fitted build-up to irregular surface, the 3D printing technique was used. The PolyLactic Acid (PLA) which processed with nontoxic plant component was used for 3D printer filament material for clinical usage. The 3D printed bolus was designed using virtual bolus structure delineated on patient CT images. Dose distributions were generated from treatment plan for bolus assigned uniform relative electron density and bolus using relative electron density from CT image and compared to evaluate the inhomogeneity effect of bolus material. Pretreatment QA is performed to verify the relative electron density applied to bolus structure by gamma analysis. As an in-vivo dosimetry, Optically Stimulated Luminescent Dosimeters (OSLD) are used to measure the skin dose. The plan comparison result shows that discrepancies between the virtual bolus plan and printed bolus plan are negligible. (0.3% maximum dose difference and 0.2% mean dose difference). The dose distribution is evaluated with gamma method (2%, 2 mm) at the center of GTV and the passing rate was 99.6%. The OSLD measurement shows 0.3% to 2.1% higher than expected dose at patient treatment lesion. In this study, we treated Mycosis fungoides patient with patient specific bolus using 3D printing technique. The accuracy of treatment plan was verified by pretreatment QA and in-vivo dosimetry. The QA results and 4 month follow up result shows the radiation treatment using 3D printing bolus is feasible to treat irregular patient skin.

  • In this paper, we present the results of our research to perform 3D laser scanning functions by adding a focusing lens to a conventional 2D laser scanner. For the optical design, the ray-tracing technique was used along with a total of four lenses as the variable incident focusing lens, the collimating lens, and the F-Theta lens. As design variables, the curvature of the incident focusing lens (Lens #1) was assumed to be us, l mm and sumed mm, and the incident angles were set at 0cidenus, l. In addition, the distance between the focusing lens and the collimating lens was set to vary from 5 mm to 15 mm. When the incident focal length was varied from 5 mm to 15 mm, the exit focal length was calculated to vary from 67.5 mm to 56.8 mm for the lens with R = 100 mm and from 108.5 mm to 99.0 mm for the lens with R = 150 mm. When the incident angle was 0°, the focal aberration was only slightly observable at 10㎛ in both the x- and y-direction. At 7.5° was the focal aberration of approximately 20~50㎛ was measured at 20㎛. To investigate the chromatic aberration of the designed optical device, the distortion of the focus was observed when the 550 nm beam was simulated on lens designed for a 980 nm wavelength.

  • PURPOSES : This paper evaluates, using LS/DYNA-3D software, the vehicle impact performance of flexible barriers made of steel W-Beam supported by four different types of post configurations. These types include circular post, H-shape post, C-shape post, and square post. METHODS : The post-soil interaction has been investigated according to different impact angles. For this purpose, energy absorption, maximum displacements of post and rail, and occupant risk index of THIV have been compared each other. The three dimensional soil material model, instead of the conventional spring model based on Winkler and p-y curve, has been used to increase the correctness of computational model. RESULTS : It is noted the crash energy absorption has been increased with respect to the increase of impact angle. CONCLUSIONS : In particular, a post with open section(H-shape, C-shape) shows the greater crash energy absorption capability as compared with a post with closed section under the same level of impact conditions.

  • Conventional method to improve the response time of the Cat-SPPCM was to increase fanning beam using cylindrical lens. But, in this case the temporal instability of this SPPCM is increased, and fanning beam plays a role as noise, so that it decreases the reflectivity. Thus, fanning beam must be controlled to improve the properties of SPPCM. In this paper, we propose the method to increase the reflectivity of SPPCM and decrease the response time by focusing line-shaped input beam into photorefractive crystal using cylindrical lens and decrease the temporal instability of output beam by using mixed-polarized beam instead of simple extraordinary polarized beam. Optical experiments show that the reflectivity of proposed SPPCM is increased twice and the response time is reduced by 15 times. Also, we observed that the temporal instability of SPPCM is reduced when the polarization angle of the mixed-polarized beam is between $10^{\circ}$ and $30^{\circ}$ . We used a $45^{\circ}-cut\;BaTiO_3$ crystal which has high electro-optical coefficients in optical experiments.

  • This Study is to find out how RC beam mixed with sawdust acts comparing with normal beam without sawdust mixture, and how they can be applied to the actual structural frame, despite a Int that they are mixed with waste material : saying sawdust. ED3H1, ED3H2, ED5H1, ED5H2, ED3H1UB, ED5H1UB, ED3H2L, ED5H2L and Normal without sawdust mixture are main factor to be tested here in order to apply them to the actual case. D and H means diameter 3cm or 5cm, and holes one and two respectively. And all variables are tested with each two for one variables. Test results are compared using crack diagrams and strain & loads. There are eleven(11)% capacity decrease between ED 3H1 and ED5H1 in rebar, strain. Left and right side crack shapes are much similar in variable ED3H2L having maximum capacity 14.5 tone. ED5H2L having maximum capacity thirteen(13)tone, in case of normal 19.6 tone. Two holes in beam rather on the longitudinal direction than on the forcing direction can be more effective to keep the original capacity of the beam because this case can distribute load more uniformly. There is 33% capacity decreased in case of diameter five(5)cm, compared to diameter three(3)cm. Two holes give thirty nine(39) percent capacity decrease than one of diameter three(3)cm.

  • Based on numerical reduced minimization theory, new anisoparametric 3-node elements for out-of-plane curved beam are developed. The elements are designed to be free from spurious constraints. In this paper, the effect of the Jacobian upon numerical solution is analyzed and predicted through reduced minimization analysis of anisoparametric 3-node elements with different Jacobian assumption. The prediction is verified by numerical tests for circular and spiral out-of-plane deformable curved beam models. This paper proposes two kinds of 3-node elements with 7-DOF; one element employs 2-point integration for all strains, and the other element uses 3-point integration with a constant Jacobian within element for calculation of shear strain.

  • The implementation of imaging methods that enable sensitive and specific observation of anatomical structures has been a constant in the evolution of endodontic therapy. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) enables 3-dimensional (3D) spatial anatomical navigation in the 3 volumetric planes (sagittal, coronal and axial) which translates into great accuracy for the identification of endodontic pathologies/conditions. CBCT interpretation consists of 2 main components: (i) the generation of specific tasks of the image and (ii) the subsequent interpretation report. A systematic and reproducible method to review CBCT scans can improve the accuracy of the interpretation process, translating into greater precision in terms of diagnosis and planning of endodontic clinical procedures. MEDLINE (PubMed), Web of Science, Google Scholar, Embase and Scopus were searched from inception to March 2023. This narrative review addresses the theoretical concepts, elements of interpretation and applications of the CBCT scan in endodontics. In addition, the contents and rationale for reporting 3D endodontic imaging are discussed.

  • This paper proposes a hybrid antenna with novel beam steering scheme. The antenna have a cassegrain structure composed of two reflectors. The main reflector is designed for high gain performance using parabola curvature, and the sub-reflector is plate and can be rotated by ${\pm}3^{\circ}$. Thus proposed antenna can steer a antenna beam using the inclination of sub-reflector. A feed array composed of 20 elements is adapted as a feeder for electrical beam steering, and the antenna can be possible to steer the beam by the feed array with sub-reflector. Proposed antenna was fabricated to be operated in Ka-band(30.085$\sim$30.885 GHz) for TX and K-band(20.355$\sim$21.155 GHz), which are the operation frequencies of the Korean satellite, Mugunhwa, to provide satellite multi-media service to vehicles. By the performance test, it can be known that the antenna has minimum gain of 47 dBi for TX and 44.4 dBi for TX and can steer the beam by ${\pm}2^{\circ}$ with sub-reflector.
