Several researches in 3D interaction have identified and extensively studied the four basic interaction tasks for 3D/VE applications, namely, navigation, selection, manipulation and system control. These interaction schemes in the real world or VE are generally suitable for interacting with small graspable objects. In some applications, it is important to duplicate real world behavior. For example, a training system for a manual assembly task and usability verification system benefits from a realistic system for object grasping and manipulation. However, it is not appropriate to instantly apply these interaction technologies to such applications, because the quality of simulated grasping and manipulation has been limited. Therefore, we introduce the intuitive and natural 3D interaction haptic interface supporting high-precision hand operations and realistic haptic feedback.

Construction industry is considered as one of the oldest industries in the world since human came into being and the need of their own space is realized. All this led to make the world a space of many beautiful constructive ventures. As per the requirements of today's world, every industry is recognizing the need for use and adoption of modern as well as innovative technologies due to their benefits and timely production. Now construction industry has also started adopting the use of modern and innovative technologies during their projects but still the rate of adoption is so slow. From design to completion, construction projects take a lot to manage for which technology based solutions have continuously been proposed. These include Computer Aided Design (CAD), building information modeling (BIM) and cloud computing have been proved to be much successful until now. The construction projects are high budgeted, and direly require timely and successful completion with quality, resource and other constraints. So, the researchers observe the need of more clear and technology based communication between the construction projects and its constructors and other stakeholders is required before and during the construction to take timely precautions for expected issues. This study has analyzed the use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology adopting GammaAR, and ARki applications in construction industry. It has been found that both applications are light-weighted, upgradable, provide offline availability and collaborative environment as well as fulfil most of the requirements of the construction industry except the cost. These applications also support different screen size for better visualization and deep understanding. Both applications are analyzed, based on construction's application requirements, usability of AR and ratings of applications user collected from application's platform. The purpose of this research is to provide a detail insight of construction applications which are using AR to facilitate both the future developers and consumers.

Modern communication systems employ wideband antennas with circular polarization (CP) radiation. In this work, asymmetric modified bow-tie (ABT) and symmetric modified bow-tie (SBT) slotted circularly polarized single-point probe-fed circular patch antennas with dimensions of $40mm{\times}40mm$ for wideband applications are proposed. A 10 dB RL bandwidth of 350 MHz with CP, 3 dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 100 MHz, peak gain of 4.9 dBic, and 10 dB RL bandwidth of 530 MHz with CP, 3 dB AR bandwidth of 140 MHz, peak gain of 5 dBic are obtained for ABT and SBT slotted circular patch antennas, respectively. The proposed SBT slotted patch is scaled up and down to $50mm{\times}50mm$ and $30mm{\times}30mm$, respectively. The proposed scaled-up version offers 10 dB RL and 3 dB AR bandwidths of 340 MHz and 80 MHz, with a peak gain of 5 dBic. The scaled-down version offers 10 dB RL and 3 dB AR bandwidths of 710 MHz and 180 MHz, with a peak gain of 5.25 dBic. These prototypes are suitable to work in IEEE 802.11a WLAN, ISM, and IEEE 802.11ac applications. The measured and simulated results are then discussed and compared.

3D object contents are used for various applications in the Web virtual space, where the main concerns are to navigate the 3D virtual space and visualize 3D objects. The techniques to manipulate 3D objects like disassembling and assembling and to record the manipulation process are the very first step. Until now, we can record only the result of 3D object manipulation. Thus, we have tried to study the representation technique to record meaningfully and replay the manipulation process of 3D structured objects. We analyzed the structures and their relations between components to construct 3D objects that are described in XML or VRML. Compared to the previous method, we studied a XML based annotation technique to record and store selectively by user. This technique makes 3D structured objects be used in the various applications by the selective recording and also selective replaying.

Most of 3D indoor spatial data recently constructed by many projects merely focus on the visualization rather than geospatial information applications. The 3D indoor data for visualization in 3DS or COLLADA format are based on triangular mesh representation. In order to implement meaningful applications, we need however more meaningful information in 3D indoor spatial data than visualization data in triangular meshes. For this reason, an OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) standard, called IndoorGML(Indoor Geographic Markup Language) was published to meet the requirements on 3D indoor spatial data for several geospatial applications for indoor space more than simple visualization. It means that it becomes a critical functional requirement to convert triangular mesh representation in 3DS or COLLADA to IndoorGML. In this paper we propose a framework of the conversion, which consists of geometric, topological, and semantic construction of data from triangular meshes. An experiment carried out to validate the proposed framework is also presented in the paper.

Recently, sub-micron CMOS technologies have taken the place of III-V materials in a number of areas in integrated circuit designs, in particular even for the applications of gjgabit optical communication applications due to its low cost, high integration level, low power dissipation, and short turn-around time characteristics. In this paper, a four-channel transimpedance amplifier (TIA) array is realized in a standard 0.35mm CMOS technology Each channel includes an optical PIN photodiode and a TIA incorporating the fully differential regulated cascode (RGC) input configuration to achieve effectively enhanced transconductance(gm) and also exploiting the inductive peaking technique to extend the bandwidth. Post-layout simulations show that each TIA demonstrates the mid-band transimpedance gain of 59.3dBW, the -3dB bandwidth of 2.45GHz for 0.5pF photodiode capacitance, and the average noise current spectral density of 18.4pA/sqrt(Hz). The TIA array dissipates 92mw p in total from a single 3.3V supply The four-channel RGC TIA array is suitable for low-power, high-speed optical interconnect applications.
The demand for map applications in both Web and mobile environments has been rapidly increased with the population of Web and smart phone usage. Web-based map applications are mostly developed on such environments as ArcGIS and MapServer and mobile map applications are developed on such API levels as Google Maps and Yahoo Maps. But many parts of map applications are still constructed by coding because these environments don't support high level of automation. Our MapAppGen that we have designed and implemented enhances the Web-based map application productivity by generating the map related modules that can be applied to the Drupal that is one of popular content management systems(CMS's). Comparing the applications that are constructed by the Drupal-supported GMap or NodeMap, the applications that are constructed by MapAppGen provide information on not only the interested geographical feature but also its related geographical features. MapAppGen uses Google Maps API and Drupal is a module-based system that supports the creation, composition and management of contents. We are now working on automatic generation of mobile map applications with MapAppGen.
This work describes the design and characterization of a Ku-band monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) power amplifier (PA) for satellite communication applications. The device technology used relies on 0.25 ㎛ gate length gallium arsenide (GaAs) pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (PHEMT) of wireless information networking (WIN) semiconductor foundry. The developed Ku-band PHEMT MMIC power amplifier has a small-signal gain of 22.2~23.1 dB and saturated output power of 34.8~35.4 dBm over the entire band of 13.75 to 14.5 GHz. Maximum saturated output power is a 35.4 dBm (3.47 W) at 13.75 GHz. Its power added efficiency (PAE) is 30.6~37.83% and the chip dimensions are 4.4 mm×1.9 mm. The developed 3 W PHEMT MMIC power amplifier is expected to be applied in a variety of Ku-band satellite communication applications.
