  • This paper proposes the framework of the scenario-based 3D image synthesizing system that allows common users who envision a scenario in their mind to realize it into the segments of cool animation. We focused on utilization of the existing motions to synthesize new motions for the objects. The framework is useful to build a 3D animation in game programming with a limited set of 3D objects. We also propose a practical algorithm to reuse and expand the objects. This algorithm is based on motion path modification rules. Both linear and nonlinear curve-fitting algorithms were applied to modify an animation by key frame interpolation and to make the motion appear realistic.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of synthesizing faces of a user and an animation character using a 3D face model. The suggested method first receives two orthogonal 2D face images and extracts major features of the face through the template snake. It then generates a user-customized 3D face model by adjusting a generalized face model using the extracted facial features and by mapping texture maps obtained from two input images to the 3D face model. Finally, it generates a user-customized animation character by synthesizing the generated 3D model to an animation character reflecting the position, size, facial expressions, and rotational information of the character. Experimental results show some results to verify the performance of the suggested algorithm. We expect that our method will be useful to various applications such as games and animation movies.

  • In this paper, a method for 3-D surface reconstruction with two real cameras is presented. The method, which combines the extraction of binocular disparity and its interpolation can be applied to the synthesis of images from virtual viewpoints. The synthesized virtual images are as natural as the real images even when we observe the images as stereoscopic images. The method opens up many applications, such as synthesizing input images for multi-viewpoint 3-D displays, enhancing the depth impression in 2-D images and so on. We also have developed a video-rate stereo machine able to obtain binocular disparity in 1/30 sec with two cameras. We show the performance of the machine.

  • X-ray laminography and DT(digital tomosynthesis) that can form a cross-sectional image of 3-D objects promise to be good solutions for inspecting interior defects of industrial products. The major factors of the digital tomosynthesis that influence on the quality of x-ray cross-sectional images are also discussed. The quality of images acquired from the DT system varies according to image synthesizing methods, the number of images used in image synthesizing, and X-ray projection angles. In this paper, a new image synthesizing method named 'log-root method' is proposed to get clear and accurate cross-sectional images, which can reduce both artifact and blurring generated by materials out of focal plane. To evaluate the quality of cross-sectional images, two evaluating criteria: (1) shape accuracy and (2) clearness in the cross-sectional image are defined. Based on this criteria, a series of simulations were performed, and the results show the superiority of the new synthesizing method over the existing ones such as averaging and minimum method.

  • In this paper, we suggest a new camera capturing and synthesizing algorithm with the multi-captured left and right images for the better comfortable feeling of 3D depth and also propose 3D image capturing hardware system based on the this new algorithm. We also suggest the simple control algorithm for the calibration of camera capture system with zooming function based on a performance index measure which is used as feedback information for the stabilization of focusing control problem. We also comment on the theoretical mapping theory concerning projection under the assumption that human is sitting 50cm in front of and watching the 3D LCD screen for the captured image based on the modeling of pinhole Camera. We choose 9 segmentations and propose the method to find optimal alignment and focusing based on the measure of alignment and sharpness and propose the synthesizing fusion with the optimized 9 segmentation images for the best 3D depth feeling.

  • In this paper, we present an algorithm for synthesizing intermediate views from a stereoscopic pair of images. Syntheses of intermediate images allows one to realize a more comfortable the 3D display system. The proposed method is based on block matching, which is not ordinarily used. The contour information is used for a block decision. In order to find an equivalent (or corresponding) block, there are two steps: "matching of contour-to-original image" and "matching of contour-to-contour image" methods. "Matching of contour-to-contour image" uses both left and right contour images. This block matching method allows us to find the corresponding block in spite of different block sizes. Experimental results illustrate the performance of the proposed technique and we obtained a high quality image of more than 31 dB PSNR.image of more than 31 dB PSNR.

  • X-ray laminography and DT(digital tomosynthesis) that can form a cross-sectional image of 3-D objects promis to be good solutions for inspecting interior defects of industrial products. DT is a kind of laminography technique and the difference is in the fact that it synthesizes the several projected images by use of the digitized memory and computation. Based on these criteria, a series of simulations are performed, and the results show the superiority of the new synthesizing method over the existing ones such as averaging and minimum methods.

  • Cephalexin synthesizing enzyme (${\alpha}$ amino acid ester hydrolase) was partially purified from the culture broth of Acetobacter turbidans ATCC9325 through ammonium sulfate fractionation, DEAE, CM, and Sephacryl S-200 gel filtration. The enzyme has optimum pH 6.0 and temperature, 40$^{\circ}C$ respectively. From the analysis of reaction mixtures by thin layer chromatographic and high performance liquid chromatographic techniques, it was confirmed this enzyme catalyzed simultaneously the following reactions : 1) Synthesis of cephalexin from D-${\alpha}$-phenylglycine methylester (PGM) and 7-amino 3-deacetoxy-cetoxycephalosporanic acid (7-ADCA) 2) Hydrolysis of cephalexin to form 7-ADCA and phenylglycine (PG) 3) Hydrolysis of PGM to form PG and methanol. Base on the above experimental observations, the reaction model of this enzyme was identical with that of the enzyme from Xanthomonas citri.

  • Epigenetic mechanisms, primarily mediated through histone and DNA modifications, play a pivotal role in orchestrating the functional identity of a cell and its response to environmental cues. Similarly, the spatial arrangement of chromatin within the three-dimensional (3D) nucleus has been recognized as a significant factor influencing genomic function. Investigating the relationship between epigenetic regulation and 3D chromatin structure has revealed correlation and causality between these processes, from the global alignment of average chromatin structure with chromatin marks to the nuanced correlations at smaller scales. This review aims to dissect the biological significance and the interplay between the epigenome and 3D chromatin structure, while also exploring the underlying molecular mechanisms. By synthesizing insights from both experimental and modeling perspectives, we seek to provide a comprehensive understanding of cellular functions.
