곡면을 포함하는 형상의 영상을 이용한 모델링 (Image-Based Approach for Modeling 3D Shapes with Curved Surfaces)

  • 본 논문에서는 NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines)로 표현된 3차원 곡면을 복원하기 위한 영상 기반 곡면 모델링 기법을 제안한다. 카메라 보정이 수행된 복수의 영상으로부터 사용자가 대응곡선을 지정하면 카메라의 정보를 이용하여 대응 곡선의 3차원 복원을 수행한다. 사용자 인터페이스에 의해 각 영상에서 곡선을 지정하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 NURBS 곡선을 이용하였으며 bilinear surface, ruled surface, generalized cylinder, surface of revolution등의 기본 곡면뿐 아니라 skinned surface, swept surface, boundary patch등의 고급 곡면 생성을 지원하여 다양한 모양의 곡면 물체를 모델링 할 수 있다. 또한 영상을 기반으로 view-dependent 텍스처 생성방법을 지원하여 좀더 사실적인 곡면의 복원을 수행한다. 생성된 3차원 곡선 또는 곡면은 VRML과 같은 표준 형식으로 출력하여 재사용할 수 있다.

Development of Main Steam Line Break Mass and Energy Release Analysis with RETRAN-3D Code

  • An estimation methodology of the mass and energy (M/E) release due to the main steam line break (MSLB) has been developed with the RETRAN-3D code. In the case of equipment qualification (EQ), the over-estimated temperature would exceed the design limits of some cables or valves. In order to have a more flexible EQ profiles from the MSLB M/E release, the methodology with the best-estimated code was used. The major conditions affecting the MSLB M/E were found to be the initial SG level, heat transfer between primary and secondary sides, power level, operable protection system, main or auxiliary feedwater availability, and break conditions. The RETRAN-3D models were developed for the Kori unit 1 (KRN-1) which is typical two loop Westinghouse (WH) designed plant. Particularly, a detailed model of the steam generators was developed to estimate a more realistic two-phase heat transfer effect of the steam flow. After the modeling, the methodology has been developed through the sensitivity analyses. The M/E release data generated from the analyses have been used as the input to the inside containment pressure and temperature (P/T) analysis. According to the results at the point of view containment P/T, the Kori unit 1 can have more margin of 5∼15 ㎪ in pressure and 8∼15$^{\circ}C$ in temperature.

Analysis on Electric Field Based on Three Dimensional Atmospheric Electric Field Apparatus

  • As a key component of lighting location system (LLS) for lightning warning, the atmospheric electric field measuring is required to have high accuracy. The Conventional methods of the existent electric field measurement meter can only detect the vertical component of the atmospheric electric field, which cannot acquire the realistic electric field in the thunderstorm. This paper proposed a three dimensional (3D) electric field system for atmospheric electric field measurement, which is capable of three orthogonal directions in X, Y, Z, measuring. By analyzing the relationship between the electric field and the relative permittivity of ground surface, the permittivity is calculated, and an efficiency 3D measurement model is derived. On this basis, a three-dimensional electric field sensor and a permittivity sensor are adopted to detect the spatial electric field. Moreover, the elevation and azimuth of the detected target are calculated, which reveal the location information of the target. Experimental results show that the proposed 3D electric field meter has satisfactory sensitivity to the three components of electric field. Additionally, several observation results in the fair and thunderstorm weather have been presented.

자동차 시뮬레이터의 가상환경 구성에 대한 연구 (Construction of Virtual Environment for a Vehicle Simulator)

  • Vehicle driving simulators can provide engineers with benefits on the development and modification of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity given by a motion system and a real-time visual image generation system. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to achieve high fidelity. In this paper the virtual environment including a visual system like a head-mounted display is developed for a vehicle driving simulator system by employing the virtual reality technique. virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Accordint to the object model a three dimensional graphic model is developed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/E. For the real-time image generation the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. Compared with the single loop apprach the proposed methodology yields an acceptable image generation speed 20 frames/sec for the simulator.

가상현실을 이용한 실시간 차량 그래픽 주행 시뮬레이터 (A Real-Time Graphic Driving Simulator Using Virtual Reality Technique)

  • Driving simulators provide engineers with a power tool in the development and modification stages of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity obtained by a motion bed and a real-time visual image generation algorithm. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to enhance the fidelity of vehicle simulators. This paper develops the virtual environment for such visual system as head-mounted display for a vehicle driving simulator. Virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Based on the object model, a three-dimensional graphic model is completed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/ENGINEER. For real-time image generation, the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. The developed software for a virtual driving simulator offers an effective interface to virtual reality devices.

Effect of spatial characteristics of a weak zone on tunnel deformation behavior

  • This paper focuses on the deformation behavior of tunnels crossing a weak zone in conventional tunneling. A three-dimensional finite element model was adopted that allows realistic modeling of the tunnel excavation and the support installation. Using the 3D FE model, a parametric study was conducted on a number of tunneling cases with emphasis on the spatial characteristics of the weak zone such as the strike and dip angle, and on the initial stress state. The results of the analyses were thoroughly examined so that the three-dimensional tunnel displacements at the tunnel crown and the sidewalls can be related to the spatial characteristic of the weak zone as well as the initial stress state. The results indicate that the effectiveness of the absolute displacement monitoring data as early warning indicators depends strongly on the spatial characteristics of the weak zone. It is also shown that proper interpretation of the absolute monitoring data can provide not only early warning for a weak zone outside the excavation area but also information on the orientation and the extent of the weak zone. Practical implications of the findings are discussed.

Vision-based dense displacement and strain estimation of miter gates with the performance evaluation using physics-based graphics models

  • This paper investigates the framework of vision-based dense displacement and strain measurement of miter gates with the approach for the quantitative evaluation of the expected performance. The proposed framework consists of the following steps: (i) Estimation of 3D displacement and strain from images before and after deformation (water-fill event), (ii) evaluation of the expected performance of the measurement, and (iii) selection of measurement setting with the highest expected accuracy. The framework first estimates the full-field optical flow between the images before and after water-fill event, and project the flow to the finite element (FE) model to estimate the 3D displacement and strain. Then, the expected displacement/strain estimation accuracy is evaluated at each node/element of the FE model. Finally, methods and measurement settings with the highest expected accuracy are selected to achieve the best results from the field measurement. A physics-based graphics model (PBGM) of miter gates of the Greenup Lock and Dam with the updated texturing step is used to simulate the vision-based measurements in a photo-realistic environment and evaluate the expected performance of different measurement plans (camera properties, camera placement, post-processing algorithms). The framework investigated in this paper can be used to analyze and optimize the performance of the measurement with different camera placement and post-processing steps prior to the field test.

유니티 실시간 엔진과 End-to-End CNN 접근법을 이용한 자율주행차 학습환경 (Autonomous-Driving Vehicle Learning Environments using Unity Real-time Engine and End-to-End CNN Approach)

  • Collecting a rich but meaningful training data plays a key role in machine learning and deep learning researches for a self-driving vehicle. This paper introduces a detailed overview of existing open-source simulators which could be used for training self-driving vehicles. After reviewing the simulators, we propose a new effective approach to make a synthetic autonomous vehicle simulation platform suitable for learning and training artificial intelligence algorithms. Specially, we develop a synthetic simulator with various realistic situations and weather conditions which make the autonomous shuttle to learn more realistic situations and handle some unexpected events. The virtual environment is the mimics of the activity of a genuine shuttle vehicle on a physical world. Instead of doing the whole experiment of training in the real physical world, scenarios in 3D virtual worlds are made to calculate the parameters and training the model. From the simulator, the user can obtain data for the various situation and utilize it for the training purpose. Flexible options are available to choose sensors, monitor the output and implement any autonomous driving algorithm. Finally, we verify the effectiveness of the developed simulator by implementing an end-to-end CNN algorithm for training a self-driving shuttle.

능동모양모델 알고리듬을 위한 삼차원 모델생성 기법 (Three-dimensional Model Generation for Active Shape Model Algorithm)

  • 통계적 데이터를 이용하여 모양 변이가 가능한 능동모양모델(Active Shape Model, ASM)은 이차원 영상의 분할 및 인식에 성공적으로 사용되고 있다. 삼차원 모델 기반 기법은 객체 경계의 인식 및 묘사(delineating)를 위한 더욱 현실적인 모양 억제력(constraint)을 갖는다는 점에서 이차원 모델 기반 기법에 비해 좋은 결과를 가져온다. 그러나 삼차원 모델 기반 기법을 위해서는 분할된 객체들의 집합인 훈련(training) 데이터로부터 삼차원 모양모델을 생성하는 것이 가장 중요하고 필수적인 단계이며, 현재까지도 커다란 도전 과제로 남아있다. 삼차원 모양모델 생성에서 가장 중요한 단계는 포인트 분산모델(PDM)을 생성하는 것이다. PDM 생성을 위해서는 상응하는 특징점(landmark)을 모든 훈련 데이터의 대응하는 위치에서 선택해야 한다. 그러나 현재까지 많이 사용되는 특징점의 수동 선택 기법은 시간이 많이 소비되며, 많은 오류를 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 삼차원 통계적 모양모델의 생성을 위한 새로운 자동 기법을 제안한다. 주어진 삼차원 훈련 모양 데이터에서, 삼차원 모델은 다음 방법에 의해 생성된다. 1) 훈련 모양 데이터의 거리 변환(distance transform)으로부터 평균(mean) 모양 생성, 2) 평균 모양에서 자동적으로 특징점을 선택하기 위한 사면체(tetrahedron) 기법 사용, 3) 거리 표식(distance labeling) 기법을 통한 각 훈련 모양에서 특징점의 전파(propagating). 본 논문에서는 50명의 복부 CT 영상으로부터 간(liver)을 위한 삼차원 모델을 생성하고, 평가를 위i괘 정확성과 밀집도(compactness)를 조사한다. 기존의 삼차원 모델 생성 기법들은 객체의 모양과 기하학적 및 위상학적으로 심각한 제한을 갖지만, 본 논문에서 제안한 기법은 위와 같은 제한 없이 어느 데이터 집합에도 적용할 수 있다.3mW이며, 시제품 ADC의 칩 면적은 $0.47mm^2$ 이다. 각각 56dB, 65dB이고, 전력 소모는 1.2V 전원 전압에서 각각 4.8mW, 2.4mW이며 제작된 ADC의 칩 면적은 $0.8mm^2$이다.quential scan) 알고리즘과 성능을 비교한다. 실험결과, 제안된 알고리즘은 순차 검색에 비하여 최대 13.2배까지 성능이 향상되었으며, 인덱스의 개수 k가 증가함에 따라 검색 성능도 함께 증가하였다.라서 보다 안전성과 효율성이 뛰어난 2차 대사물질을 찾아내는 연구와 아울러 방제기능이 있는 물질의 생합성경로를 구명하고 대사공학적으로 이용하므로 병해충에 저항성이 있고 잡초 방제효과를 갖는 형질전환 식물을 육성하는 연구가 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다.{\sim}83.8%$ 범위(範圍)를 차지 하였다. 5) 칼슘 섭취량(攝取量)은 권장량 500 mg 에 비(比)하여 양구지역(楊口地域) 아동(兒童)이 $282.4{\sim}355.0mg$이었고 여주지역(麗州地域) 아동(兒童)이 $284.6{\sim}429.0mg$ 이었다. 6) 철(鐵) 섭취량(攝取量)은 권장량 10mg에 비(比)하여 양구지역(楊口地域) 아동(兒童)이 $6.0{\sim}12.1mg$ 범위(範圍)이었고 여주지역(麗州地域) 아동(兒童)이 $6.4{\sim}16.7mg$ 범위(範圍)로 상당수의 아동(兒童)이 권장량에 미달(未達) 되었다. 7) 비터민 A 섭취량(攝取量)은 양구지역(楊口地域)이 $703.4{\sim}1495.6\;IU$ 범위(範圍)이었고 여주지역(麗州地域) 아동(兒童)이 $750.5{\sim}1521.2\;IU$ 범위(範圍)로서 ${\beta}-carotene$으로서의 권장량 5100 I.U,에 비(比)하여 매우 부족되었다

가상현실에서 Haptic 디바이스를 활용한 멀티터치 모델 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of Multi-touch model using a Haptic Device in Virtual Reality)

  • 본 논문에서는 촉감 처리기술의 특징인 VR기술과 햅틱디바이스인 Omni를 이용하여 VR공간에서 멀티 터치 포인터에 어류객체의 촉감을 제시하는 모델을 제안하고 가능성을 실험하였다. 본 실험을 위하여 Matlab/Simulink와 Handshake사의 proSENSE Virtual Touch Toolbox을 프로그래밍 툴로 사용하였고, 3D로 모델링 된 물고기 객체들의 자연스런 움직임을 묘사하기 위해 x, y, z축 각각의 움직임을 표현하는데 필요한 함수들을 사용하였다. 이러한 움직임들은 2명의 사용자가 각각 제어하는 멀티 포인트에 사실적인 물리 작용을 제공한다. 실험결과 3D 객체의 외형을 촉감만으로 인지하는 것과 숨 쉬는 상태를 촉감으로 느낄 수 있게 하는 것이 잘 표현되었고, 두 개의 멀티 포인터를 활용함으로 VR공간에서의 다중참여를 통한 게임이나 콘텐츠 개발이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.
