Equipment Development for Inorganic-Compound Concentration Measurement in a Hydroponic Culture Solution (수경배양액 무기성분농도 측정장치 개발)

  • BACKGROUND: Measurement equipment was developed for inorganic nutrient concentration inside the hydroponic culture medium with several macro- and micro compositions, and applied for measuring the compositions of conventional medium. METHODS AND RESULTS: Before the equipment development, sonicator and heater were utilized to control temperature around of the module mixing with color reagents and target samples among the inorganic compositions. The measurement module and multi-sampler were also manufactured based on the COMS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) and installed inside the measurement equipment. Concentration of standard solution, value measured by the equipment, standard deviation or measured average value were used for estimating the accuracy and average recall of the equipment. Yamazaki solutions with EC of 0.5, 1.5, and 2.5 dS/m were offered to confirm the equipment accuracy and standard error. CONCLUSION: It was suggested that the developed equipment could be automatically applied for measurement with accuracy of over 96% and standard errors of less than 5% on 12 macro- and micro compositions such as a NO3-N, PO43- or Fe.

An Empirical Study on the Designed Burst Pressure of Type3 Composite Cylinder (Type3 복합용기 설계 파열압에 관한 실증연구)

  • In this research, an empirical study on the designed burst pressure of Type3 composite cylinder was performed by hydrostatic burst test equipment. The designed burst pressure of Type3 composite cylinders, which are 6.8 liter and 31 MPa of service pressure, was estimated with the analysis using the finite element method. In order to confirm its accuracy, the burst test of small Type3 composite cylinders was perfomed through three times. The burst test equipment can pressurize to 400 MPa. As a result of comparison between the designed burst pressure and actual burst pressure, the difference was less than 4 percentage. With a test result, the analysis accuracy was verified. This technique will be applied to both qualification and inspection for the composite cylinder.

Evaluation of the Accuracy and Precision Three-Dimensional Stereotactic Breast Biopsy (3차원 입체정위 유방생검술의 정확도 및 정밀도 평가)

  • This research was study the accuracy of three-dimensional stereotactic breast biopsy, using a core Needle Biopsy and to assess the accuracy of Stereotactic biopsy and Sono guided biopsy. Using Stereotactic QC phantom to measure the accuracy of the 3D sterotactic machine. CT Scan and equipment obtained in the measured X, Y, Z and compares the accuracy of the length. Using Agar power phantom compare the accuracy of the 3D sterotactic machine and 2D ultrasound machine. Z axis measured by the equipment to compare the accuracy and reliability. Check the accuracy by using visual inspection and Specimen Medical application phantom. The accuracy of the 3D sterotactic machine measured by Stereotactic QC phantom was 100%. Accuracy as compared to CT, all of X, Y, Z axis is p > 0.05. The accuracy of the two devices was 100% as measured by Agar powder phantom. There was no difference between t he t wo d evices as C T and p > 0.05. 3D sterotactic machine of the ICC was 0.954, 2D ultrasound machine was 0.785. 2D ultrasound machine was different according to the inspector. Medical application phantom experiments in 3D sterotactic machine could not find the Sliced boneless ham. 2D ultrasound machine has not been able to find a small chalk powder group. The reproducibility of the three-dimensional stereotactic breast biopsy was better than effect of Sono guided biopsy.

  • The use of 3D scanners has increased gradually according to increasing 3D printer applications. The precision inspection of car parts or electronic components is an important issue not only in the field of mass production, but also in small-scale production. Recently, 3D scanner equipment efficiency and recognition technology has been improved continuously. On the other hand, the spraying time to prepare 3D scanning is time-consuming and has environmental problems. Therefore, an automatic spray system has been in demand by the manufacturing industry. Automatic spray equipment was newly developed for the preparation of a 3D scanner. In this research, the automatic spray system guarantees uniform spray operation. To determine the optimal spray parameters, various spraying methods, solutions and conditions were tested and compared with the experiments. The preparation time for 3D scanning was reduced to 1/10 compared to the manual spraying time, and indicates the optimal spraying conditions through a comparison of various spray coating conditions.

The Study of the Geometric Structure Optimization for the Stereo X-ray Inspection System Using the Calibration (Calibration을 통한 스테레오 X-ray 검색장치의 기하구조 최적화 연구)

  • In this paper, we presents a sensor calibration technique using stereo X-ray images to provide efficient inspection of fast moving cargo objects. Stereo X-ray scanned images are acquired from a specially designed equipment which consists of a X-ray source, dual-linear array detector, and a conveyor system. Dual detector is installed so that rectified stereo X-ray images of objects are acquired. Using the stereo X-ray images, we carry out a sensor calibration to find the correspondences between the images and reconstruct 3-D shapes of real objects. Using the Image acquired from the stereo detectors with varying distances, we calculated the GCP(ground control point)of the image. And we figure out the error by comparing calculated GCP and GCP of the real object. The experimental results show the proposed technique can enhance the accuracy of stereo matching and give more efficient visualization for cargo inspection image.

  • In shipyards, internal materials are assembled after designing and manufacturing each ship's block. Internal material assembly means the installation of parts and equipment except ship's body. In this process, if the assembly of pipes and equipment existing in the block is not done correctly during the assembly between blocks, this causes a lot of costs. In addition, even if the assembly of the internal materials already completed, the production efficiency of the ship is reduced due to rework when problems such as space arrangement of the internal materials occurs. Therefore, this study introduces space arrangement and inspection system before and after hull outfitting work based on coexistence reality technology using 3D design drawing to solve these problems. The various coexistence reality algorithms and inspection systems developed and introduced in this study are based on AR service, which has never been introduced in Korea. So it will be widely applicable to various manufacturing industries using design drawings such as automobiles and architectures as well as ship building process.

A Satisfaction Survey On the Safety Environment and Education Time in University Laboratories (대학 연구실험실 안전환경과 교육시간에 대한 만족도 조사)

  • This paper seeks to survey and analyze the status of obligatory execution from key institutional aspects that have taken effect according to laws on creating safe environment for laboratory and of general details such as the level of satisfaction on the part of people engaged in research activity regarding the laws after they have taken effect. The subjects of this study were MA and PhD graduate students in science and engineering who are primarily involved in research. This questionnaire survey was focused on finding basic data required for safety education for researcher and for efficient safety management by examining the correlation between education time and level of satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed by using frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, one way anova by SPSS12 package. The results obtained by this study are as follow. 1) Awarences of safety management rules, ordinary inspection, safety education were around 70% and other law clauses were around 50%. 2) The general satisfaction after the Laboratory Safety Act enforcement was usual level with 4.72 points in 7. 3) Researchers demanded ordinary inspection and protective equipment in a safe environmental composition. 4) The safety education time for improvement of a safe consciousness level was needed 12h or 24h at 1 years.

Development of UV Corona Camera for the Detecting of Discharge on Power Facility using UV Transmittance Improvement Filter (UV 투과율 향상 필터 기술을 이용한 전력설비 방전 검출용 자외선 코로나 카메라 개발)

  • UV inspection technology is being used for predictive maintenance of power facility together with IR-thermography and ultrasonic devices. In this paper, the UV corona camera design, fabrication, and perform a simple test to be take advantage of the diagnostic equipment. The UV corona camera developed a $6.4^{\circ}{\times}4.8^{\circ}$ of the field of view as a conventional camera to diagnose a wide range of slightly enlarged, and power equipment to measure the distance between the camera and the distance meter has been attached. The transmission between 250 to 280nm was 11% ($12.5%{\times}88%{\times}98%$) by combing the transmission on absorption film, window and other filter(UG 5, nickel sulphate and so on). In a distance of 5m with the UV corona camera it is possible to detect partial discharge with a PD level of 2.5pC and a RIV level of $3.6dB{\mu}V$.

Development of a Fast Alignment Method of Micro-Optic Parts Using Multi Dimension Vision and Optical Feedback

  • A general process of electronic assembly is composed of a series of geometric alignments and bonding/screwing processes. After assembly, the function is tested in a following process of inspection. However, assembly of micro-optic devices requires both processes to be performed in equipment. Coarse geometric alignment is made by using vision and optical function is improved by the following fine motion based on feedback of tunable laser interferometer. The general system is composed of a precision robot system for 3D assembly, a 3D vision guided system for geometric alignment and an optical feedback system with a tunable laser. In this study, we propose a new fast alignment algorithm of micro-optic devices for both of visual and optical alignments. The main goal is to find a fastest alignment process and algorithms with state-of-the-art technology. We propose a new approach with an optimal sequence of processes, a visual alignment algorithm and a search algorithm for an optimal optical alignment. A system is designed to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.

  • The ranging systems measure range data in three-dimensional coordinate from target surface. These non-contact remote ranging systems is widely used in various automation applications, including military equipment, construction field, navigation, inspection, assembly, and robot vision. The active ranging systems using time of flight technique or light pattern illumination technique are complex and expensive, the passive systems based on stereo or focusing principle are time-consuming. The proposed algorithm, that is based on cross correlation of projection profile of vertical edge, provides advantages of fast and simple operation in the range acquisition. The results of experiment show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
