유로조건에 따른 압축공기 초음속 유동 현상의 해석 연구 (Numerical Study on the Super Sonic Phenomenon of Compressed Air according to the Flow Path Conditions)

  • 일반적으로 열차 제동을 위한 제동력은 압축공기를 활용하여 제공된다. 열차에 상황별로 적절 제동력을 가하기 위해 사용하는 압력밸브 시스템은 복잡한 유동 회로를 가진다. 이를 일반적인 기계가공으로 제작 시, 유로형상 설계에 제약이 있는 반면, 3D 프린팅 기법으로 제작시 유동 효율을 증대할 수 있는 유로형상 제작이 가능하다. 따라서 이번 연구에서는 기존의 제작 방식으로 유로를 제작하는 경우와, 3D프린팅의 장점을 살려, 자유로운 형상의 유로를 제작하는 경우를 비교하여, 압력 밸브 시스템 내의 압축공기 유동의 현상을 해석적으로 분석하였다. 해석을 위한 조건으로는, 유로 방향이 바뀔 때 유로의 곡률 크기, 유로의 직경, 입구 및 저장소 압력의 크기, 그리고 압축공기의 초기 온도로 구분하였다. 압력손실의 최소화 및 유동 특성의 균일성이 제동 효율 개선에 영향을 주는 요인이므로, 수치해석을 통한 연구를 통해 일반적인 기계가공을 통한 직각 유로 형상보다는 3D 프린팅을 통한 곡률 유로의 경우가 제동효율 개선에 유리함을 확인하였다.

3차원불규칙파동장하의 진동수주형 파력발전구조물에서 불규칙공기흐름의 수치시뮬레이션 (Numerical Simulation of Irregular Airflow within Wave Power Converter Using OWC by Action of 3-Dimensional Irregular Waves)

  • 공기실 내에서 해수면의 상하운동을 공기흐름으로 변환하고, 이를 터빈의 구동력으로 이용하는 진동수주형(OWC; Oscillating Water Column)의 파력발전시스템은 파랑에너지흡수장치 중에 가장 효율적인 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 3차원불규칙파수치파동수로에 기초한 3D-NIT(3-Dimensional Numerical Irregular wave Tank)모델을 규칙파동장에 적용하여 산정된 공기실 내 수위변동의 시간변화로부터 공기흐름속도를 추정하고, 이의 결과와 수리모형실험으로부터 얻어진 공기흐름속도와를 비교하여 본 3D-NIT모델의 적용성을 검토하였다. 또한, 불규칙파동장하의 OWC파력발전구조물에서 공기실 내 공기흐름의 해석에 3D-NIT모델을 적용하여 입사주파수스펙트럼의 변화에 따른 공기흐름 주파수스펙트럼의 변화특성, 구조물의 존재여부에 따른 공기실 위치에서 주파수스펙트럼의 변화특성 및 구조물에 의한 반사율의 변화특성 등을 검토하였다. 이로부터 공기실 내에서 수위변동 및 공기흐름의 시계열 자료에서 위상차가 존재하며, 공기실 내의 공진에 의해 수위변동의 주파수스펙트럼에서 첨두치가 증폭되는 현상 등을 알 수 있었다.

MOFIA에 의한 두개 입자/기포간 상호작용에 관한 연구 (Characterization of Interaction between Two Particles/Bubbles Flow with Moving Object Flow Image Analyzer System)

  • This paper deals with interaction between two bubbles or particles and flow around them, visualized by a moving object flow image analyzer(MOFIA) consisting of a three-dimensional (3D) moving object image analyzer(MOIA) and two-dimensional particle image velocimetry(PIV). The experiments were carried out for rising bubbles or particles of various densities, sizes, and/or shapes in stagnant water in a vertical pipe. In the MOFIA employed, 3D-MOIA was used to measure particles or bubbles motion and PIV was used to measure fluid flow, The experimental results showed that the interaction was characterized by the shape, size and density of two particles or bubbles.

에너지소비를 고려한 실내공기청정기의 풍량별 입자 청정화능력 분석 (Analysis on Particle Cleaning Capacity of Indoor Air Cleaners for Different Flow Rates Considering Energy Consumption)

  • The performances of indoor air cleaners including particle cleaning capacity and collection efficiency are usually tested at the condition of the maximum air flow rate of the air cleaners. However, the power consumption of the air cleaners is highly dependent on the air flow rate of the individual air cleaners. Therefore, there seems to be an optimized air flow rate for the air cleaning capacity considering power consumption. In this study, clean air delivery rate(or standard useful area as suggested room size) and power consumption have been investigated for different maximum air flow rates of 15 air cleaners and then compared those for different air flow rate modes of the individual 5 air cleaners selected from the 15 cleaners. For the maximum air flow rate conditions of 15 air cleansers, the power consumption per unit area was less related to the maximum air flow rate. However, for the different air flow rate modes of the selected 5 air cleaners, the lower power consumption per unit area was corresponding to the lower air flow rate mode of the individual air cleaners. When considering the operation time to the desired particle concentrations, there was an optimized one in the medium air flow rate modes for the individual air cleaners. Therefore, not only the maximum air flow rate but also lower air flow rates of individual air cleaners should be considered for estimating air cleaning capacity based on energy consumption per unit area.

  • Numerical analysis has been conducted for improving air flow characteristics in the exhaust aftertreatment system of diesel-fueled passenger cars by changing axial length and cone shape of a DPF diffuser. The results of air velocity and static pressure distributions along with air flow uniformity results suggest that a diffuser shape with 2D or 3D function type is better for air flow patterns in front of a DPF.

  • 3D-PTV measurement has been carried out for the inner flows of a refrigerator. To visualize the air flows three-dimensionally, a helium bubble generator has been used for the 3D-PTV measurements. Three-dimensional flow field of the refrigerator's compartments have been reconstructed by the results obtained by the 3D-PTV Measurements on the electric power-consumption was also carried out in order to evaluate the improvements of the flow characteristics. It was verified that $3\%$ of power consumption was saved by improving the flow passages and characteristics.

  • 초고속 엔진을 제어하는데 필요한 엔진으로 유입되는 공기유량의 추정기법에 대해 제안하였다. 비행 중 획득 가능한 정보를 활용하기 위하여 공기유량 계산식을 비행 중 측정 가능한 변수로 변경하였고, 추정 정확도에 대한 각각 변수의 기여도를 평가하였다. 제안한 추정식은 간단한 형태로 변형하였고, 측정 불확도를 분석하였다. 아울러 센서의 오차에 따른 민감도 분석을 통하여 공기유량 추정 기법 선택을 위한 참고자료를 제시하였다.

수평원통 관에서 선회유동의 공기동 발생에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Generation of Air-core with Swirl Flow in a Horizontal Circular Tube)

  • An experimental investigation was performed to study on the generation of air bubble and air core with swirling flow in a horizontal cicular tube. To determine some characteristics of the flow, 2D PIV technique is employed for velocity measurement in water. The experimental rig is manufactured from an acryl tube. The test tube diameter of 80mm, and a length of 3000mm. The used algorithm is the gray leve cross-correlation method(Kimura et al. 1986). An Ar-ion laser is used and the light from the laser(500mW) passes through a probe to make two-dimensional light sheet. In order to make coded images of the tracer particles on one frame, an AOM(Acoustic-Optical Modulator) is used. The maximum axial velocities showed near the test tube wall at y/D =0.1 and y/D =0.9 along the test tube. The higher Reynolds number increase, the lower axial velocities are showed in the center of the test tube. The air bubbles are generated from Re =10,000 and developed into air core from the recirculating water pump rpm equal 30Hz. The pressure and temperature are measured across the test tube at X/D=3.33.

일부 탈지세척 및 도금공정 국소배기장치의 성능점검과 개선방안 (Performance of Local Exhaust Ventilation Systems of Degreasing and Plating Workplaces)

  • In order to evaluate and improve the performance of local exhaust ventilation systems for two TCE degreasing (A, B) and two electroplating (C, E) and one acid dipping & plating (D) operations located in Kimhae, the performance test was conducted with trace gases and a thermal anemometer (Kanomax 24-6111, Japan). For the inadequately designed systems, the improvement and redesigns in compliance with recommendation by ACGIH was suggested. The results of performance test for each system are as follows; 1. System of Workplace A was generally well-designed. Actual exhaust air flow rate was in excess of 68% above the recommended standard exhaust air flow rate. 2. System of Workplace B was very well-designed and completely enclosed. 3. All systems of Workplace C including hoods were poorly-designed and actual exhaust air flow rates were insufficient for open tanks. All systems should be upgraded according to ACGIH recommendations. 4. Supply and exhaust air flow rate of push-pull exhaust systems in Workplace D should be greatly increased. The width of flange of dipping tank hood should be increased with the value suggested. 5. System of Workplace E was well-designed. Actual exhaust air flow rate was in excess of 54% above the required.

  • The importance of intake system can not be overstressed in the recent heavy duty commercial vehicle design. The basic requirements of intake system are to have less flow resistance and better air cleaning performance which have direct effects on the performance and service life of engine. In order to improve the performance of engine intake system, the flow phenomena in the intake system should be fully understood. With readily availble CFD code, the numerical analysis becomes the more reliable tools for flow optimization in recent design work. In this research, flow field in the intake system was analyzed by STAR-CD, the 3-D computational fluid dynamics code. Especially, the flow inside of air cleaner was thoroughly analyzed. Pressure distribution and velocity profile in the air cleaner and intake duct was obtained. Having the dust seperated from incoming air at the expense of less pressure drop is the ultimate goal for the research.
