An Effective Parallel Implementation of Sound Synthesis of Guitar using GPU (GPU를 이용한 기타의 음 합성을 위한 효과적인 병렬 구현)

  • This paper proposes an effective parallel implementation of a physical modeling synthesis of guitar on the GPU environment. We used appropriate filter coefficients and adjusted the length of delay line for each open string to generate 44,100 six-polyphonic guitar sounds (E2, A2, D3, G4, B3, E4) by using physical modeling synthesis. In addition, we analyzed the physical modeling synthesis algorithm and observed that we can exploit parallelism inherent in the length of delay line. Thus, we assigned CUDA cores as many as the length of delay line and effectively implemented the physical modeling synthesis using GPU to achieve the highest performance. Experimental results indicated that synthetic guitar sounds using GPU were very similar to the original sounds when we compared their spectra. In addition, GPU achieved 68x and 3x better performance than high-performance TI DSP and CPU, respectively. Furthermore, this paper implemented and evaluated the performance of multi-GPU systems for the physical modeling algorithm.

Generating A Synthetic Multimodal Dataset for Vision Tasks Involving Hands (손을 다루는 컴퓨터 비전 작업들을 위한 멀티 모달 합성 데이터 생성 방법)

  • 본 논문에서는 3D 메시 정보, RGB-D 손 자세 및 2D/3D 손/세그먼트 마스크를 포함하여 인간의 손과 관련된 다양한 컴퓨터 비전 작업에 사용할 수 있는 새로운 다중 모달 합성 벤치마크를 제안 하였다. 생성된 데이터셋은 기존의 대규모 데이터셋인 BigHand2.2M 데이터셋과 변형 가능한 3D 손 메시(mesh) MANO 모델을 활용하여 다양한 손 포즈 변형을 다룬다. 첫째, 중복되는 손자세를 줄이기 위해 전략적으로 샘플링하는 방법을 이용하고 3D 메시 모델을 샘플링된 손에 피팅한다. 3D 메시의 모양 및 시점 파라미터를 탐색하여 인간 손 이미지의 자연스러운 가변성을 처리한다. 마지막으로, 다중 모달리티 데이터를 생성한다. 손 관절, 모양 및 관점의 데이터 공간을 기존 벤치마크의 데이터 공간과 비교한다. 이 과정을 통해 제안된 벤치마크가 이전 작업의 차이를 메우고 있음을 보여주고, 또한 네트워크 훈련 과정에서 제안된 데이터를 사용하여 RGB 기반 손 포즈 추정 실험을 하여 생성된 데이터가 양질의 질과 양을 가짐을 보여준다. 제안된 데이터가 RGB 기반 3D 손 포즈 추정 및 시맨틱 손 세그멘테이션과 같은 품질 좋은 큰 데이터셋이 부족하여 방해되었던 작업에 대한 발전을 가속화할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 S/C-밴드(2${\sim}$8GHz)에서 동작하는 초광대역 주파수 합성기를 설계하였다. 먼저 S-밴드(2-4GHz) 광대역 전압제어발진기를 가지고 획득시간을 단축하기 위한 연산 증폭기를 사용한 DA변환기와 능동루프 필터(Active Loop Filter)로 구성된 S-밴드 주파수 합성기를 설계하였다. 그리고 주파수 체배기, SPDT RF 스위치를 통합하여 최종적으로 S/C-밴드 초광대역 주파수 합성기를 설계하였다. 제작된 주파수 합성기는 200kHz 비교주파수에서 위상잡음은 100kHz 옵셋 주파수에서 -92dBc/Hz이하, 불요주파수 특성은 -62.33dBc 이하, 획득시간은 1.3ms 이하로 측정되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 비디오 시퀀스 내에서 카메라의 움직임을 추적하고, 추적 데이터를 기반으로 2D 영상에 3D CG 객체를 추가하는 방법을 소개한다. 해당 객체가 시점을 고려한 장면 내의 피사체로써 간주되기 위해서는 3차원 가상공간 내에서 피사체의 위치를 기반으로 장면 내 기준 평면을 구성하는 점들과 카메라의 기저 축 좌표를 조정한다. 영상제작 현장에서 활용되는 소프트웨어에서 수작업으로 진행되는 과정을 살펴봄으로써 매치 무빙기법이 증강현실과 광학기반의 SLAM 등과 같은 다양한 응용분야에서의 활용을 고려할 수 있겠다.

  • This paper propose a practical algorithm to reuse and expand the objects. This algorithm is based on the Motion Path Modification rules. We focus on reusing of the existing motions for synthesizing new motions for the objects. Both the linear and the nonlinear curve-fitting algorithm are applied to modify an animation by keyframe interpolation and to make the motion appear realistic. We also proposes a framework of the scenario-based 3D image synthesizing system that allows common users, who envision a scenario in their minds, to realize it into segments of a cool animation. The framework is useful in building a 3D animation in game programming with a limited set of 3D objects.

Design of a CMOS Frequency Synthesizer for FRS Band (UHF FRS 대역 CMOS PLL 주파수 합성기 설계)

  • This paper reports a fractional-N phase-locked-loop(PLL) frequency synthesizer that is implemented in a $0.35-{\mu}m$ standard CMOS process and generates a quadrature signal for an FRS terminal. The synthesizer consists of a voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO), a charge pump(CP), loop filter(LF), a phase frequency detector(PFD), and a frequency divider. The VCO has been designed with an LC resonant circuit to provide better phase noise and power characteristics, and the CP is designed to be able to adjust the pumping current according to the PFD output. The frequency divider has been designed by a 16-divider pre-scaler and fractional-N divider based on the third delta-sigma modulator($3^{rd}$ DSM). The LF is a third-order RC filter. The measured results show that the proposed device has a dynamic frequency range of 460~510 MHz and -3.86 dBm radio-frequency output power. The phase noise of the output signal is -94.8 dBc/Hz, and the lock-in time is $300{\mu}s$.

  • This paper designs and implements a multi-view 3D video player system which is operated faster than existing video player systems. The structure for obtaining the near optimum speed in a multi-processor environment by parallelizing the component modules is proposed to process large volumes of multi-view image data at high speed. In order to use the concurrency of bottleneck, we designed image decoding, synthesis and rendering modules in a pipeline structure. For load balancing, the decoder module is divided into the unit of viewpoint, and the image synthesis module is geometrically divided based on synthesized images. As a result of this experiment, multi-view images were correctly synthesized and the 3D sense could be felt when watching the images on the multi-view autostereoscopic display. The proposed application processing structure could be used to process large volumes of multi-view image data at high speed, using the multi-processors to their maximum capacity.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the scope and effectiveness of the utilization of computer programs in universities and educational institutions teaching and training subjects related to interior construction such as interior and exterior design display coloring furniture design perspective drawing expression technique space planning lighting design and portfolio production. The list of currently available non-CAD computer programs for these purpose and the effectiveness of utilizing adobe photoshop in interior design will be examined.

  • $Eu^{3+}$ and $Bi^{3+}$ co-doped $YVO_4$ phosphors were produced by a microwave heating process. When the microwave heating method was synthesized,. the particle size was very small and the particles tended to agglomerate. However, as the heating time increased, the particle size increased and the agglomeration decreased. The emission spectrum exhibited a weak band for $^5D_0{\longrightarrow}^7F_1$ at 594.91 and 602.3 nm and strong sharp peaks at 616.7 and 620.0 nm due to the $^5D_0{\longrightarrow}^7F_2$ transition of $Eu^{3+}$. Microwave heating synthesis can provide a product without long time heating as well as good homogeneous distribution of activators.

  • In the thesis, we propose a new type of the predistortion linearizer using frequency multiplier The linearizer utilizing the 2nd and 3th harmonic used the individual control of the 3rd and 5th order intermodulation distortion(IMD) component. This structure is composed of wilkinson power combiner for combine and isolation of output signal, 3rd order IMD product controller using doubler and 5th order IMD product controller using tripler. The proposed predistortion linearizer controlled by individual order is obtained for about -16 dBc and 18 dBc of 3rd order and 5th order IMD components, respectively, over the frequency band 870 MHz to 880 MHz at the output power of 34 dBm/tone.
