  • To control IWR-III Biped Waking Robot, those complex modules are necessary that concurrent control multi-axes servo motors, PID & Feedforward gain tuning, initial value calibration, display current status of system, user interface for emergency safety and three-dimensional rendering graphic visualization. It is developed for various-type gait $data^{[1]}$ and for control modes (i.e open/closed loop and pulse/velocity/torque control) that Integrated Control Enviroment with GUI( Graphic User Interface) consist of time-buffered control part using MMC (Multi-Motion Controller) and 3D simulation part using DirectX graphic library.

  • The main objective of this research is to utilize the parallel Fuzzy arithmetic for constructing ocean bathymetry from polarized remote sensing data such as TOPSAR image. In doing so, the parallel library for Fuzzy arithmetic has been developed. Three- dimensional surface modeling consisted of Volettra model, non-linear model which construct a global topological structure between the data points, used to support an approximation of real surface. The output of the parallel library was a digital terrain model for bathymetry along the coastal waters of Kuala Terengganu Malaysia. This paper describes the principles behind the Fuzzy algorithm, indicates for what type of application it might be useful, notes on the accuracy and gives an example of an application.

  • The claw-pole PM(Permanent Magnet) stepping motor has the advantage of the positioning machine because of a relatively little step angle, facility of control, and detent torque characteristics. Although the research about this motor has been progressed, it was difficult to analyze because of three-dimensional magnetic circuit. This paper proposed a design method of the claw-pole PM stepping motor using 3D-FEA. We established design variables that have an important effect upon the characteristics of the motor, and then peformed analysis of the static and the dynamic characteristics. We also manufactured the test products and practiced the performance tests for verification of the analysis results.

  • This paper analyzes static and transient response characteristics of a permanent magnet type stepping motor with claw poles using three-dimensional finite element method. The outer diameter of the stepping motor to be analyzed is approximately 6 mm. In this paper we analyzes only 2 poles of the stepping motor, which has 10 magnetic poles made up of NdFeB material, using periodic boundary condition. We clarify transient response and static torque charateristics using Maxwell 3D and Matlab Simulink.

  • The random telegraph signal (RTS) for the NOR flash cell scaling is investigated. An innovative method to suppress the RTS, based on the device engineering, is proposed. By optimizing the channel doping profile and using the high-k tunnel dielectric, it is confirmed from three-dimensional (3-D) simulation, that the $V_{th}$ amplitude, dueto RTS, is significantly suppressed, from approximately 0.5 to 0.07 V in the middle of the channel at 45 nm NOR Flash technology. From this result, it is expected that the proposed method to suppress the RTS amplitude is essential for further cell size scaling in Flash memory.

  • We carry out three-dimensional simulation of pore closing processes during upsetting in open die forging. Several pores on a plane section of a cylindrical material are traced at the same time and the results of hydrostatic pressure and effective strain are discussed to reveal the parameters affecting pore closing phenomena. Five different sizes of pores are also investigated by simulation to reveal the pore size effect in pore closing during upsetting. AFDEX 3D is employed for this study.

  • Three-dimensional (3D) video technologies are becoming increasingly popular, as it can provide users with high quality and immersive experiences. However, color inconsistency between the camera views is an urgent problem to be solved in multi-view imaging. In this paper, a perception-based color correction method for multi-view images is proposed. In the proposed method, human visual sensitivity (VS) and visual attention (VA) models are incorporated into the correction process. Firstly, the VS property is used to reduce the computational complexity by removing these visual insensitive regions. Secondly, the VA property is used to improve the perceptual quality of local VA regions by performing VA-dependent color correction. Experimental results show that compared with other color correction methods, the proposed method can greatly promote the perceptual quality of local VA regions greatly and reduce the computational complexity, and obtain higher coding performance.

  • Additive manufacturing is converting a digitally designed object into a tangible three dimensional solid using an additive process where materials are applied in successive layers with no or very limited material waste. It can be distinguished form traditional manufacturing which begins with a fixed amount of raw material and removes excess to arrive at the final product. Generally there are five stages to the additive manufacturing supply chain, namely materials, systems, software, application design and production. In this paper, recent market trends and technology about additive manufacturing based on supply chain are analyzed and reviewed.

  • The microearthquake and explosion events recorded in the seismic KNUE(Korea National University of Education) network were analyzed. The seismic data were recorded from Dec. 1997 to Dec. 1998. Total of 118 records consisted of 24 earthquake and 4 explosion events were instrumented at 6 stations. Spectral values increases as magnitude increases and the predominant frequency band expands to low frequency. zone as magnitude increases. Three-dimensional spectrograms(time frequency. amplitude) were also synthesized in order to discriminate microearthquakes and artificial underground explosions. The waves from microearthquakes show that frequency content of dominant amplitude appeared above 10 Hz and the discrimination can be performed in almost all the frequency domain of 3-d spectrogram.

  • The rockfall protection fences are installed to reduce rockfall damage in roads side slopes. The energy absorbing capacity of widely used rockfall protection fences is about 50kJ. But in many cases, rockfall protection fences are easily damaged even by a low level of rockfall energy. The objective of this paper is to verify the energy absorbing capacity of rockfall protection fences and investigate the behavior of them by rockfall. The LS-DYNA3D, a finite elements analysis program for dynamic movement of three dimensional objects, is used to perform the numerical simulations In the result, it is shown that rockfall protection fences absorb half of standard absorbing energy or less than it. It is inadquate for the rockfall protection fences to perform the principal function. To improve the performance of the fences, new rockfall proctection fence is proposed and numerical simulation is performed.
