보행 분석시 Dimensionless number의 효과 및 성별간 보행패턴 분석 -시공간변인- (Effect of dimensionless number and analysis of gait pattern by gender -spatiotemporal variables-)

  • 본 연구는 한국인 20대의 남성과 여성을 대상으로 보행 분석상의 표준화 방법 중의 하나인 dimensionless number의 효과를 검정하고 이를 통해 성별간 보행형태를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 피험자는 기술표준원에서 제공하는 한국인 표준체형 및 연령 분류 체계에 맞춰 선정하였으며, 3차원 동작분석 시스템이 사용되었다. 데이터 분석을 위한 소프트웨어로는 Cortex, OrthoTrak, Matlab, Excel이 사용되었으며 통계검정을 위해서 SPSS를 사용하였다. 분석 결과를 살펴보면, Hof(1996)의 dimensionless number 변환을 통한 20대 성별 간 보행 형태는 시·공간 변인인 stride length, step length, stride time, step time, 보행속도(velocity), cadence 모두에서 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 표준화 전·후에 따라 통계분석의 결과가 달라짐을 확인하였다. 따라서 보행 분석에서 데이터의 표준화 방법 중의 하나인 dimensionless number의 적용은 통계학적 검정에 영향을 줄만큼 C.V. 값을 변화시키는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구를 통해, 상호 비교를 위한 보행연구에서 dimensionless number를 이용한 표준화 방식은 피험자의 신체적 특성이 분석에 미치는 영향을 제거하고 보다 정확한 통계 검정을 위해서 반드시 요구되는 과정이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Writer Identification using Wii Remote Controller

  • The objective of this study was to develop a system for handwriting recognition in three dimensions (3D) to authenticate users. While previous studies have used a stylus pen for two-dimensional input on a tablet, this study uses the Wii Remote controller because it can capture 3D human motion and could therefore be more effective means of recognition. The information obtained from a Wii Remote controller included x and y coordinates, acceleration (x, y, z), angular velocity (pitch, yaw, roll), twelve input buttons, and time. The proposed system calculates distances using six features extracted after preprocessing the data. In an experiment where 15 subjects wrote "AIZU" 10 times, we obtained a 94.8% identification rate using a combination of writing velocity, the peak value of pitch, and the peak value of yaw. This suggests that this system holds promise for handwriting-based authentication in the future.

Relationship between Hallux Valgus Severity and 3D Ground Reaction Force in Individuals with Hallux Valgus Deformity during Gait

  • PURPOSE: This study examined the relationship between the severity of a hallux valgus (HV) deformity and the kinetic three-dimensional ground reaction force (GRF) through a motion analysis system with force platforms in individuals with a HV deformity during normal speed walking. METHODS: The participants were 36 adults with a HV deformity. The participants were asked to walk on a 6 m walkway with 40 infrared reflective markers attached to their pelvic and lower extremities. A camera capture system and two force platforms were used to collect kinetic data during gait. A Vicon Nexus and Visual3D motion analysis software were used to calculate the kinetic GRF data. RESULTS: This research showed that the anterior maximal force that occurred in the terminal stance phase during gait had a negative correlation with the HV angle (r = -.762, p < .01). In addition, the HV angle showed a low negative correlation with the second vertical maximal force (r = .346, p < .05) and a moderate positive correlation with the late medial maximal force (r = .641, p < .01). CONCLUSION: A more severe HV deformity results in greater abnormal translation of the plantar pressure and a significantly reduced pressure force under the first metatarsophalangeal joint.

체표 변화에 기반한 심전도 모니터링 의류의 센싱 위치 연구 (A Study of Sensing Locations for ECG Monitoring Clothing based on the Skin Change rate)

  • Recently, according to change of lifestyle and increase of concerning in health, needs of the smart clothing based on the vital sign monitoring have increased. Along with this trend, smart clothing for ECG monitoring has been studied various way as textile electrode, clothing design and so on. Smart clothing for ECG monitoring can become a comfortable system which enables continuous vital sign monitoring in daily use. But, smart clothing for ECG monitoring has a weakness on artifact during motion. One of the motion artifact caused by shifting of the electrode position was affected skin change by motion. The aim of this study was to suggest electrode locations for clothing of ECG monitoring to reduce of motion artifacts. Therefore, change of skin surface during the movement were measured and analyzed in order to find location to minimize motion artifacts in ECG monitoring clothing by 3D motion capture. For the experiment, the subjects consisted of 5 males and 5 females in their 20' with average physique. As a result, the optimal location for ECG monitoring was deducted under the bust line and scapula which have least motion artifact. These locations were abstracted to be least affected by movement in this research.

보행 중 인위적 다리길이 차이에 따른 3차원적 골반 가동범위의 특성 (Characteristics of Pelvic Ranges According to Artificial Leg Length Discrepancy During Gait: Three-Dimensional Analysis in Healthy Individuals)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze the dynamic range of motion (ROM) of pelvic and translation of center of mass (COM) when wearing different shoe insole lifts according to leg length discrepancy (LLD) during free speed gait. Methods : Thirty-five healthy adults were participated in this study. Kinematic data were collected using a Vicon motion capture system. Reflective and cluster 40 markers attached to participants lower extremities and were asked to walk in a 6 m gait way under three different shoe lift conditions (without any insole, 1 cm insole, and 2 cm insole). The pelvic ROM and COM translation in three planes were sorted using a Nexus software, and a Visual3D motion analysis software was used to coordinate all kinematic data. Results : There were significantly increased maximal pelvic elevation and total pelvic range in coronal plane when wearing a standard shoe with 2 cm insole lift during gait (p<.05). When wearing a standard shoe with 2 cm insole lift, the total range of the pelvic segment were significantly different in all three motion planes (p<.05). Conclusion : Although LLD of less than 2 cm develops abnormal movement pattern of the pelvis and may cause of musculoskeletal diseases such as low back pain, hip and knee joint osteoarthritis, therefore intensive various physical therapy interventions for LLD are needed.

저가형 LIDAR를 장착한 소형 무인항공기의 3차원 실내 항법 및 자동비행 (3-D Indoor Navigation and Autonomous Flight of a Micro Aerial Vehicle using a Low-cost LIDAR)

  • The Global Positioning System (GPS) is widely used to aid the navigation of aerial vehicles. However, the GPS cannot be used indoors, so alternative navigation methods are needed to be developed for micro aerial vehicles (MAVs) flying in GPS-denied environments. In this paper, a real-time three-dimensional (3-D) indoor navigation system and closed-loop control of a quad-rotor aerial vehicle equipped with an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a low-cost light detection and ranging (LIDAR) is presented. In order to estimate the pose of the vehicle equipped with the two-dimensional LIDAR, an octree-based grid map and Monte-Carlo Localization (MCL) are adopted. The navigation results using the MCL are then evaluated by making a comparison with a motion capture system. Finally, the results are used for closed-loop control in order to validate its positioning accuracy during procedures for stable hovering and waypoint-following.

골프 동영상으로부터 추출된 스윙 정보를 활용한 3D 모델과 골프 동영상의 동기화 재생 (A Synchronized Playback Method of 3D Model and Video by Extracting Golf Swing Information from Golf Video)

  • 본 논문은 골프 스윙 자세 학습자를 위하여 골프 스윙의 참조 모델인 3D 모델과 학습자의 골프 스윙을 촬영한 동영상을 대상으로 스윙 동작 시 각각의 위치 및 시간에서 각 동작을 정밀하게 비교 분석하기 위해 3D 모델의 골프 스윙 동작과 학습자의 스윙 동작을 동기화 시키는 방법을 제안하고 구현한 결과를 제시한다. 3D 모델과 학습자의 스윙 동영상을 동기화시켜 재생하기 위해서 먼저 학습자의 골프 스윙 동영상을 촬영하고, 촬영한 동영상으로부터 어드레스 자세부터 피니쉬 자세까지 골프 클럽의 위치에 따라 상대적 시간 정보를 추출한다. 고품질 모션 캡쳐 장비를 통해 초당 120프레임으로 캡처된 골프 전문가의 움직임 정보를 3D 모델에 리깅한 3D 참조 모델에 학습자 스윙 동영상으로부터 추출한 골프 클럽의 위치별 시간 정보를 적용하여 3D 참조 모델과 학습자의 스윙 동영상을 동기화시켜 재생함으로 학습자는 골프 스윙의 각 위치에서 참조 모델과 자신의 자세를 정밀하게 비교함으로 자세를 교정하거나 학습할 수 있다. 동기화된 재생을 통하여 기존의 수동적으로 위치를 조정하며 참조 모델과 학습자의 스윙을 비교 분석하는 시스템의 기능을 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 개선할 수 있으며, 골프 자세의 각 위치를 검출하는 영상 처리 기술을 적용한 부분을 제외하고, 동기화시키기 위해 동영상에서 자동적으로 각 위치의 시간 정보를 추출하여 동기화시켜 재생하는 방법은 일반적인 생활 스포츠 분야로 확대하여 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

자전거 페달링 시 하지 정렬 평가를 위한 영상 시스템 개발 (Simple Camera-based Evaluation System for Lower Limb Alignment during Pedalling)

  • Simple camera-based system for evaluation of lower limb alignment as a part of an automated cycling fitting system was developed and verified in this study. Developed imaging system can evaluate lower limb alignment quantitatively during pedaling using a general camcorder and single marker attached on the knee. Threshold-based marker detection algorithm was proposed in this study. Experiment was carried out to compare the trajectory data from marker detection algorithm of the developed imaging system with the trajectory data from 3-D motion capture system. Results showed that average error between trajectories was 2.33 mm (0.92 %) in the vertical direction and 0.62 mm (1.86 %) in the medio-lateral direction. There existed significant correlation between two measured values (r=0.9996 in the vertical direction and r=0.9975 in the medio-lateral direction). It can be concluded that developed imaging system be applied to evaluate lower limb alignment which is an important factor for dynamic bicycle fitting.

모션 데이터의 PCA투영에 의한 3차원 아바타의 실시간 표정 제어 (Realtime Facial Expression Control of 3D Avatar by PCA Projection of Motion Data)

  • 본 논문은 사용자로 하여금 얼굴표정들의 공간으로부터 일련의 표정을 실시간적으로 선택하게 함으로써 3차원 아바타의 실시간적 얼굴 표정을 제어하는 기법을 기술한다. 본 시스템에서는 약 2400여개의 얼굴 표정 프레임을 이용하여 표정공간을 구성하였다. 본 기법에서는 한 표정을 표시하는 상태표현으로 얼굴특징점들 간의 상호거리를 표시하는 거리행렬을 사용한다. 이 거리행렬의 집합을 표정공간으로 한다. 3차원 아바타의 얼굴 표정은 사용자가 표정공간을 항해하면서 실시간적으로 제어한다. 이를 도와주기 위해 표정공간을 PCA투영 기법을 이용하여 2차원 공간으로 가시화했다. 본 시스템이 어떤 효과가 있는지를 알기 위해 사용자들로 하여금 본 시스템을 사용하여 3차원 아바타의 얼굴 표정을 제어하게 했는데, 본 논문은 그 결과를 평가한다.

  • This paper describes a method for reconstructing 3D feet in a real time vision based marker free motion capture system. The proposed method is developed based on the visual hull and model fitting. For a real time computing, a special lookup table is employed in this paper. This method is implemented and tested using three CCD cameras and preliminary results are presented in this paper.
