  • The 3D industry is drawing attention for its applications in various markets, including architecture, media, VR/AR, metaverse, imperial broadcast, and etc.. The current feature of the architecture we are introducing is to make 3D models more easily created and modified than conventional ones. Existing methods for generating 3D models mainly obtain values using specialized equipment such as RGB-D cameras and Lidar cameras, through which 3D models are constructed and used. This requires the purchase of equipment and allows the generated 3D model to be verified by the computer. However, our framework allows users to collect data in an easier and cheaper manner using cell phone cameras instead of specialized equipment, and uses 2D data to proceed with 3D modeling on the server and output it to cell phone application screens. This gives users a more accessible environment. In addition, in the 3D modeling process, object classification is attempted through deep learning without user intervention, and mesh and texture suitable for the object can be applied to obtain a lively 3D model. It also allows users to modify mesh and texture through requests, allowing them to obtain sophisticated 3D models.

  • Tuberculosis is a major health problem in humans because of its multidrug resistance and discovering new treatments for this disease is urgently required. The synthesis of isoprenoids in Mycobacterium tuberculosis has been reported as an interesting pathway to target. In this context, 2C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) pathway of M. tuberculosis has drawn attention. The MEP pathway begins with the condensation of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and pyruvate forming 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate (DXP) which is catalyzed by 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate synthase (DXS). As there is no X-ray structure was reported for this target, comparative modeling was used to generate the three dimensional structure. The structure was further validated by PROCHECK, VERIFY-3D, PROSA, ERRAT and WHATIF. Molecular docking studies was performed with the substrate (Thiamine pyrophosphate) and the reported inhibitor 2-methyl-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-5-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-4H-pyrazolol[1,5-a]pyrimidin-7-one) against the developed model to identify the crucial residues in the active site. This study may further be useful to provide structure based drug design.

  • The purpose of this study, using 3D printer, was tried to fabricate the short arm cast of mesh types that can be hygienic and adequate ventilation with a good radiography. We used the multi channel computed tomography (MDCT) with three dimension printer device of the fused deposition modeling (FDM) techniques. The material is used a degradable plastic (poly lactic acid, PLA). Three-dimensional images of the short arm were obtained in the MDCT and then make the three-dimensional volume rendering. Three dimension volume rendering of the short arm is implemented as a tomography obtained in MDCT. Virtual mesh type cast model was output as three-dimensional images is designed based on the three-dimensional images of the short arm. As a results, the cast output by 3D printers were able to obtain excellent radiograph images than the conventional cast, and then it can decreased itching with unsanitary, and can break down easily to the cast. In conclusion, the proposed virtual mesh type cast output by 3D printers could be used as a basis for future three-dimensional printing cast productions and offered help to patients in the real life.

  • The facial modeling and animation technology had been studied in computer graphics field. The facial modeling technology is utilized much in virtual reality research purpose of MPEG-4 and so on and movie, advertisement, industry field of game and so on. Therefore, the development of 3D facial model that can do interaction with human is essential to little more realistic interface. We developed realistic and convenient 3D facial modeling system that using a optional facial image only. This system allows easily fitting to optional facial image by using the Korean standard facial model (generic model). So it generates intuitively 3D facial model as controling control points elastically after fitting control points on the generic model wire to the optional facial image. We can confirm and modify the 3D facial model by movement, magnify, reduce and turning. We experimented with 30 facial images of $630{\times}630$ sizes to verify usefulness of system that developed.

  • Various types of building information should be linked to 3D model objects for their effective use by stakeholders. Because Building Information Modeling (BIM) based on 3D is used by different stakeholders, the created BIM need standard guidelines for each purpose, as, for example, for quantity take-off. Thus, this study was conducted to propose guidelines for BIM modeling for quantity take-off in the framework, especially, in the concrete and form. The proposed guidelines adopted each element of the BIM model based on an analysis of the problem of the general BIM model. Moreover, the usability and accuracy of the reinforced structure modeling guidelines were verified by comparing the quantity of the commercial estimation software and the modeling quantity using the proposed modeling guidelines.

  • Scaffold fabrication technology using a 3D printer was developed for damaged bone tissue regeneration. A scaffold for bone tissue regeneration application should be biocompatible, biodegradable, and have an adequate mechanical strength. Moreover, the scaffold should have pores of satisfactory quantity and interconnection. In this study, we used the polymer deposition system (PDS) based on fused deposition modeling (FDM) to fabricate a 3D scaffold. The materials used were polycaprolactone (PCL) and alginic acid sodium salt (sodium alginate, SA). The salt-leaching method was used to fabricate dual pores on the 3D scaffold. The 3D scaffold with dual pores was observed using SEM-EDS (scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive spectroscopy) and evaluated through in-vitro tests using MG63 cells.
