In this study, an experimental study on the buildability of the structure using the developed printing materials and equipment was performed. Experimental variables included the moving speed of nozzles(=80 and 100mm/s), the revolutions per minute (RPM) of screw in discharge buckets, and the aspect ratio(=1.67 and 5.00) reflecting wall length of the structures. Buildability of the 3D printed concrete structures was analyzed based on the maximum decomposition layer and collapse patterns of the structures according to the experimental variables. The nozzle movement speed of 80mm/s and the aspect ratio of 1.67 were favorable for 3D printing in this study. The collapse process of structure due to uneven layer decomposition was also analyzed through the relative displacement measurement of the lower part of the structure during printing.
Traditional two-dimensional (2D) interpretation of magnetotelluric (MT) data utilizes only transverse magnetic (TM)-mode data, because 2D inversion of transverse electric (TE)-mode data results in spurious features when 3D structures exist in the subsurface. The application of a 3D inversion algorithm to a single MT profile can reduce contamination due to off-profile anomalies and help us to incorporate TE-mode data in the interpretation. In this study, we conduct 2D and 3D inversions of MT data observed along two lines in Jeju Island. First, we invert apparent resistivities and phases in the TM and TE modes separately. Then, we perform 2D joint inversion of both TM- and TE-mode data and 3D inversion of both Zxy- and Zyx-mode data corresponding to TE- and TM-mode data in 2D. The resistivity images derived from all four data show that the geoelectrical structure in Jeju Island is a three-layered earth with the resistive-conductive-resistive stratigraphy within a depth of 5 km. The 3D inversion does not produce clear anomalies in the reconstructed profile image, while all of 2D do. This attributed to the possibility that 2D inversion results are distorted by exiting off-profile 3D anomalies in Jeju. With 3D inversion of 2D profile MT data, we can deduce more reliable results that are not seriously distorted by off-profile 3D anomalies.

Voronoi diagrams have been known for numerous important applications in science and engineering including CAD/CAM. Especially, the Voronoi diagram for 3D spheres has been known as very useful tool to analyze spatial structural properties of molecules or materials modeled by a set of spherical atoms. In this paper, we present two algorithms, the edge-tracing algorithm and the region-expansion algorithm, for constructing the Voronoi diagram of 3D spheres and applications to protein structure analysis. The basic scheme of the edge-tracing algorithm is to follow Voronoi edges until the construction is completed in O(mn) time in the worst-case, where m and n are the numbers of edges and spheres, respectively. On the other hand, the region-expansion algorithm constructs the desired Voronoi diagram by expanding Voronoi regions for one sphere after another via a series of topology operations, starting from the ordinary Voronoi diagram for the centers of spheres. It turns out that the region-expansion algorithm also has the worst-case time complexity of O(mn). The Voronoi diagram for 3D spheres can play key roles in various analyses of protein structures such as the pocket recognition, molecular surface construction, and protein-protein interaction interface construction.

In this paper, the linearity of Doherty power amplifier has been improved by applying a new Photonic Bandgap(PBG) structure on the output of amplifier. The reposed spiral PBG structure is a two-dimensional(2-D) periodic lattice patterned on a dielectric slab that does not require nonplanar fabrication process. This structure has more broad stopband and high suppression performance than the conventional three cell PBG. Also, It has a sharp skirt property. We obtained the 3rd-order intermodulation distortion(IMD3) of -33dBc for CDMA applications with that of maintaining the constant power added efficiency(PAE), the IMD3 performance is improved as much as -8 dB compared with a Doherty power amplifier without PBG structure. Moreover, the physical length of PBG is shortened, therefore the whole amplifier circuit size is considerably reduced.
If the seabed is exposed to high waves for a long period, the pore water pressure may be excessive, making the seabed subject to liquefaction. As the water pressure change due to wave action is transmitted to the pore water pressure of the seabed, a phase difference will occur because of the fluid resistance from water permeability. Thus, the effective stress of the seabed will be decreased. If a composite breakwater or other structure with large wave reflection is installed over the seabed, a partial standing wave field is formed, and thus larger wave loading is directly transmitted to the seabed, which considerably influences its stability. To analyze the 3-D dynamic response characteristics of the seabed around a composite breakwater, this study performed a numerical simulation by applying LES-WASS-3D to directly analyze the wave-structure-soil interaction. First, the waveform around the composite breakwater and the pore water pressure in the seabed and rubble mound were compared and verified using the results of existing experiments. In addition, the characteristics of the wave field were analyzed around the composite breakwater, where there was an opening under different incident wave conditions. To analyze the effect of the changed wave field on the 3-D dynamic response of the seabed, the correlation between the wave height distribution and pore water pressure distribution of the seabed was investigated. Finally, the numerical results for the perpendicular phase difference of the pore water pressure were aggregated to understand the characteristics of the 3-D dynamic response of the seabed around the composite breakwater in relation to the water-structure-soil interaction.
Due to the increasing demands on the efficient use of land and the fast growth of construction technologies, human living space is expanded from on the surface to above and under the surface. By recognizing that the current cadastre system based on 2D was not appropriate to reflect the trend, the researchers are interested in a 3D cadastre. This paper proposed the 3D cadastre data model that is appropriate to protect ownership effectively in Korea. The 3D cadastre data model consists of a 3D cadastre feature model and a 3D cadastre geometry model, and the data are produced by a 3D cadastre data structure. A 3D cadastre feature model is based on 3D rights and features derived from case studies. A 3D cadastre geometry model based on ISO19107 Spatial Schema is modified to be good for 3D cadastre in Korea. A 3D cadastre data structure consists of point, line, polygon and solid primitives. This study finally purposes 1) serving and managing land information effectively, 2) creating rights and displaying ranges about infrastructures above and under surface, 3) serving ubiquitous-based geoinformation, 4) adapting ubiquitous-based GIS to urban development, and 5) regulating relationships between rights of land and registration and management systems.
A novel energetic compound, bifurazano[3,4-b:3',4'-f]furoxano[3'',4''-d] oxacyclohetpatriene (BFFO), was synthesized through special etherification and its structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal of $BFFO{\cdot}H_2O$ is monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c with crystal parameters of a = $9.324(4){\AA}$, b = $9.727(4){\AA}$, c = $10.391(4){\AA}$, ${\beta}=106.305(6)^{\circ}$, V = $904.5(6){\AA}^3$, Z = 4, ${\mu}=0.17mm^{-1}$, F(000) = 512 and $D_c=1.866g\;cm^{-3}$. Spectroscopic properties and thermal behaviors of BFFO were studied. BFFO presents good detonation properties.
An enzyme derived conformational changes of cobalamine is thought to be important in the homolytic cleavage of Co-C bond which is the first step of catalytic Cl-cycle of coenzyme B12-dependent enzymes. Modern 2D-NMR and NMR-based distance geometric studies were carried out to determine the 3D structure of corrin ring. Homonuclear and heteronuclear correlation NMR experiments were performed for complete 1H-NMR signal assignments. Distances between numerous proton pairs were deduced based on the NOE cross peak intensities and subsequently used as input into the distance geometry program for the 3D structure determination. The detailed 3D structure from the present NMR-based analysis was compared with the result from X-ray crystallographic study, which revealed greater conformational changes occur in benzimidazole group and sugar ring than in macrocyclic corrin and tetrapyrrole. In addition, the distance geometry used in this study was found to be quite useful for NMR-based structure determination of medium-sized molecules that give poor NOE effects arising from their intermediate tumbling rate ($\omega$$\tau$c 1.0).

In recent years, dramatic advances in information technology have motivated the construction industry to improve its productivity. Most construction companies are trying to utilize some new information technologies for enhancing the structure quality, shortening construction time, and reducing the construction cost. Digital Mock-Up (DMU) technology utilizes 3D CAD/CAM system that shows the shape of a structure on the computer screen. By modeling and assembling the structure in 3D dimensional environments, some errors in design can be found before or during construction. In this paper, DMU technology was applied to the detail design and construction of In-Cheon Bridge and its effectiveness was evaluated. All components of a PSC box girder segment were modeled and assembled by using of 3D CAD tools and then, some interferences between components and errors were found and revised appropriately before construction. Consequently, DMU technology would improve the quality of the structure and reduce time and cost for construction.

Micro-stereolithography is a newly proposed technology as a means that can fabricate 3D micro-structures of free form. It makes a 3D structure by dividing the shape into many slices of relevant thickness along honzontal surfaces, hardening each layer of slice with a laser, and stacking them up to a des~red shape. Scale effect becomes important in this micro-fabrication process, d~fferently from the conventional stereolithography. To realize this micro-stereolithography technology, we developed an equipment using Ar+ laser, xyz stages, controllers and all the optic devices. Using the equipment, a number of micro-structures were successfully fabricated including a winecup of several tens of micrometers.
