This paper represents a filter design to estimate the airspeed of a spin-stabilized, trajectory-correctible artillery ammunition. Due to the limited power and space in operational point of view, the airspeed sensor is not installed, and thus the airspeed need to be estimated using limited sensor measurements. The only IMU measurements(three-axis specific forces and angular rates) are used in this application. The extended Kalman filter algorithm is applied since a linear filter can not cover the its wide operational range in airspeed and altitude. In the implementation of the EKF, the state and measurement equations are transformed into the no-roll frame for simple form of Jacobian matrix. The simulation study is conducted to evaluate the performance of the filter under various environment conditions of sensor noise and wind turbulence. In addition, the effect of the choice in filter design parameters, i.e. process error covariance matrices is analyzed on the performance of the estimation of airspeed and angular rates.

In this paper, a snowboard simulator that measures the user's motion and makes the user feel physical changes and enjoy actual snowboarding was developed. The speed and direction of the snowboard are determined by the user's center of gravity. The developed simulator is equipped with four springs on the snowboard plate, so that the slope can change according to the change in the user's weight center and be felt directly. The slope due to the change in the center of gravity of the user is measured using a three-axis acceleration sensor. The friction of the slope generated by the rotation of the snowboard is made possible by the user using the BLDC motor, and the rotation of the snowboard is measured using the hole sensor. For rapid data processing of the simulator, two MCUs are used to transfer the measured data to the PC using the acceleration sensor and motor separately. The developed simulator can experience slopes and friction of the slope directly, and wear measured data and HMD to enjoy more realistic snowboarding.

In this paper, we designed and implemented the system for telemetering ELF(Extremely Low Frequency) magnetic field intensity. The magnetic field measurement system used a 3-axis magnetic field sensor to measure the magnetic field with isotropy and the equalizer to compensate the frequency characteristic in band. By multiplexing three output signals of the magnetic field sensor in time domain, we got the uniform gain and frequency characteristic among three axes. This system was designed that the magnetic field measurement level range was $0.01{\sim}10.0\;uT$ and the measurement frequency band was $40{\sim}180\;Hz$. The control system would access to the magnetic field measurement system with RF and the maximum access distance was 1.0 km. We confirmed that the measurement level error of the fabricated system was within 5 %. The fabricated system was installed to a golf practice range where a high voltage power transmission line was crossed.

This paper discusses the attitude determination of the CNUSAIL-1 cube-satellite. The primary mission of the CNUSAIL-1 is sail deployment and operation in low Earth orbit, and the secondary mission is to look into influence of the sail deployment on satellite attitude and orbit. The attitude determination strategy is proposed depending on three mission phases, and its performance and applicability are verified through numerical simulations. This study considers the following sensors: Sun sensors and a three-axis magnetometer as attitude reference sensors, and a three-axis MEMS gyroscope as an inertial attitude sensor. Because sensors used for cube satellites have relatively low performances and worse noise characteristics, an Extended Kalman filter (EKF) is applied to attitude determination. Additionally, it has the merits to deal with the Gaussian noises and to predict the attitude even with no measurements from reference attitude sensors, especially in the eclipse of the cube satellite. The performance of the EKF is compared to a deterministic attitude determination technique, QUEST(QUaternion ESTimation).

PURPOSE: This study aimed to determine the correlation of weight bearing ability at the affected side with balance and gait abilities for the development of pressure biofeedback based equipment to stroke patients. METHODS: This study included 35 patients with stroke patient. The tests were conducted to determine the weight bearing ratio while pushing a step forward the affected side, static balance ability using the total length of COP(Center of pressure), sway velocity of COP, COP velocity at the X and Y axis. Functional reaching test (FRT), berg balance scale (BBS) were used to assess the dynamic balance ability and timed up and go test (TUG), 10m walk test (10mWT) were used assess the gait ability respectively. In order to determine the correlation between measured variables, bivariate correlation analysis was conducted. RESULTS: A significant correlation of the weight bearing ratio were shown with COP total length and velocity(r=-.34), Y-axis velocity(r=-.39), FRT(r=.42), BBS(r=.54), TUG (r=-.39), and 10m walking test (r=-.42). CONCLUSION: This study result showed that as patients with stroke had more weight bearing ratio at the affected side, not only their static and dynamic balance abilities increased more but also functional gait ability improved more. These results mean that, to improve stroke patients' static, dynamic balance ability and gait ability, weight bearing training with the affected side foot placed one step forward necessary for gaits are important.

In this study, the highly sensitive $CaSO_4$:Tm-PTFE TLDs has been fabricated for the purpose of measurement of high energy electron. $CaSO_4$:Tm phosphor powder was mixed with polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) powder and moulded in a disk type(diameter 8.5mm, thickness $90mg/cm^2$) by cold pressing. The batch uniformities were average deviation 3.1%. The TLDs were applied to measurement of absorbed dose distribution for high energy electron, the ranges were determined to be $R_{100}=14.5mm$, $R_{50}=24.1mm$ and $R_p=31.8mm$, respectively. The beam flatness were 4.5% as the variation of dose relative to the central axis over the central 80% of the field size at a maximum dose depth in a plane perpendicular to the central axis.

For patients who have senile mental disorder such as dementia, quantity of excercise and amount of sunlight are important clue for dose and the treatment. Therefore, monitoring health information of daily life is necessary for patients' safety and healthy life. Portable & wearable sensor device and server configuration monitoring data are needed to provide these services for patients. Watch-type device(smart watch) which patients wear and server system are developed in this paper. Smart watch developed includes GPS, accelerometer and illumination sensor, and can obtain real time health information by measuring the position of patients, quantity of exercise and amount of sunlight. Server system includes the sensor data analysis algorithm and web server that doctor and protector can monitor through sensor data acquired from smart watch. The proposed data analysis algorithm acquires quantity of exercise information and detects step count in patients' motion acquired from acceleration sensor and to verify this, the three cases with fast pace, slow pace, and walking pace show 96% of the experimental result. If developed u-Healthcare System for dementia patients is applied, more high-quality medical service can be provided to patients.
The optics of Space telescope is one of the major parts of space mission used for imaging observation of astronomical targets and the Earth. These kinds of space mission have a bulky and complex opto-mechanics with a long optical tube, but there are attempts have been made to observe a target with a small satellite in many ways. In this paper, we describe an optical design of a reflecting telescope for use in a CubeSat mission. For this design, we adopt the off-axis segmented method of astronomical observation techniques based on the Ritchey-Chr$\acute{e}$tien type telescope. The primary mirror shape is a rectangle with dimensions of $8cm{\times}8cm$, and a secondary mirror has dimensions of $2.4cm{\times}4.1cm$. The focal ratio is 3 which can obtain a $0.3{\times}0.2$ degree diagonal angle in a $1280{\times}800$ CMOS color image sensor with a pixel size of $3{\mu}m{\times}3{\mu}m$. This optical design can capture a ${\sim}4km{\times}{\sim}2.3km$ area of the earth's surface at 700 km altitude operation. Based on this conceptual design, we will keep trying to study more for astronomical observation with Attitude control system.

In this study, we have designed the variable amplitude threshold algorithm that can enhance the accuracy of step count using variable amplitude. This algorithm converts the x, y, z sensor values into a single energy value($E_t$) by using SVM(Signal Vector Magnitude) algorithm and can pick step count out over 99% of accuracy through the peak data detection algorithm and fixed peak threshold. To prove the results, We made the noise filtering with the fixed amplitude threshold from the amplitude of energy value that found out the detection error was increasing, and it's the key idea of the variable amplitude threshold that can be adapted on the continuous data evaluation. The experiment results shows that the variable amplitude threshold algorithm can improve the average step count accuracy up to 98.9% at 10 Hz sampling rate and 99.6% at 20Hz sampling rate.
Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute researchers have installed and operated magnetometers at Mt. Bohyun Observatory to measure the Earth's magnetic field variations in South Korea. We, in 2007, installed a fluxgate magnetometer (RFP-523C) to measure H, D, and Z components of the geomagnetic field. In addition, in 2009, we installed a Overhauser proton sensor to measure the absolute total magnetic field F and a three-axis magneto-impedance sensor for spectrum analysis. Currently three types of magnetometer data have been accumulated. In this paper, we provide the preliminary and the first statistical analysis using the BOH magnetometer installed at Mt. Bohyun Observatory. By superposed analysis, we find that daily variations of H, D, and Z shows similar tendency, that is, about 30 minutes before the meridian (11:28) a minimum appears and the time after about 3 hours and 30 minutes (15:28) a maximum appears. Also, a quiet interval start time (19:06) is near the sunset time, and a quiet interval end time (06:40) is near the sunrise time. From the sunset to the sunrise, the value of H has a nearly constant interval, that is, the sun affects the changes in H values. Seasonal variations show similar dependences to the sun. Local time variations show that noon region has the biggest variations and midnight region has the smallest variations. We compare the correlations between geomagnetic variations and activity indices as we expect the geomagnetic variation would contain the effects of geomagnetic activity variations. As a result, the correlation coefficient between H and Dst is the highest (r = 0.947), and other AL, AE, AU index and showed a high correlation. Therefore, the effects of geomagnetic storms and geomagnetic substorms might contribute to the geomagnetic changes significantly.
