In this study, the life of Lee Kyo Seung(1868~1951), the author of SinJeongSanSul(1~3), is traced in outline. He worked as a teacher at a government elementary school from 1895 to 1906. He contributed to elementary education as one of the first government elementary school teachers in the period of the Great Han Empire. During this period, he wrote SinJeongSanSul(1~3). He contributed to secondary mathematics education as a professor at Sungyunkwan for three years from November 1908, and as a mathematics teacher at the YMCA Academy from 1906 to 1916 in the period of the Great Han Empire and early Japanese colonial period. During this period, he wrote two different secondary school mathematics textbooks. During the Great Han Empire and early Japanese colonial period, he was a pioneering textbook author and mathematics teacher. So he can be evaluated as one of the important persons in the history of mathematics education in Korea.

The Great Hall of Incheon International Airport Transportation Center has irregular curved roof structure. The structure consists of 13 main steel trusses. (the longest span of 162m, 480ton) The total weight of the truss is 6,300ton and the whole truss is made of 9,600 pieces which has the joint connected to maximum 13 different parts at one point and Roof Truss is supported by 12 Fabric Foundation. Considering the economical efficiency and the schedule, the Sliding Construction Method was used other than conventional erection method. The roof truss structure was divided into two blocks, 3,550ton and 2,700ton, each block was pre-erected on the Giant Sleigh off the site and was pulled 181m by using Tandem Pulling Jack and Strand to be set in place.

The characteristics of Korean women's foot shape were extracted by analyzing foot measurements. 14 measurements were measured from foot outline and 12 conventional measurements were taken on the right foot of 386 Korean women from 18 to 86 years. The results indicate that women's foot shape is changed with aging. The young subjects' feet were longer than the foot length of older subjects. The metamorphosis angle of the women over age 45 was greater than the measurement of women under age 45. The typical Korean women's foot shapes characterized by cluster analysis were (1) small foot with little deformity on great toe, (2) wide foot with big deformity on great toe, and (3) thick and narrow foot with moderate deformity on great toe. These results indicate that the foot height and the degree of deformity on great toe are needed to be considered in developing the shoe last for Korean women. The specialized shoe last needs to be developed for elderly.

A clinical evaluation was performed on 17 cases of the cardiac and great vessel injuries above the subclavian vessel at the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Chungnam National University Hospital from April, 1980 to September, 1986. The results were as follows: 1. Sex distribution were 13 cases in male and 4 cases in female. In age range, second and third decades occupied in about 65% of total cases. 2. Modes of injury were penetrating wound is 14 cases and nonpenetrating wound in 3 cases. The stab wounds by knife were most frequent. 3. Time interval from injury to operation was mean 103 minutes. 4. Surgical approaches were performed with thoracotomy in 9 cases, median sternotomy in 3 cases and direct incision above the wound. 5. Sites of injury were heart in 10 cases and great vessel in 7 cases. The right ventricular injury was most common as 7 cases. 6. Operative procedures were performed with simple closure, vascular graft anastomosis and ligation. There was no postoperative death.

Silla Great Bell was manufactured in order to ring for the new millennium in succession to King Seongdeok Divine Bell. This study investigates how Silla Great Bell is similar to King Seongdeok Divine Bell in respect of structure and sound. First, design and manufacturing processes are introduced and dimensions of the two bells are compared and the similarity is estimated. Three main characteristics of the sound of a Korean bell are magnificent and harmonic striking sound, dynamic beat, and long lasting hum tone. These three features are compared and objectively estimated using physical parameters. The purpose of the study is to provide useful information to manufacture Korean bell which has beautiful appearance and excellent sound.

During the breeding season of 1998, breeding ecology of the Great Reed-Warbler (Acrocephalus arundinaceus orientalis) was studied at Yangsoo-ri and Yongdam-ri of the Yangpyung-gun, Kyunggi province, Korea. Egg-weight (CV: 6.25) was more variable than either length or breadth, and breadth was the least variable of the measures. Significant variations in overall egg-weight occurred between clutches, and that more of the total variation in egg-weight and shape are due to inter-clutch variation as to intra-clutch variation when the data were pooled. The last egg tends to be larger than the remaining eggs in the clutch of the Great Reed-Warbler, suggesting the Great Reed-Warbler may adopt the brood-survival strategy. When method 3 was used, the most common incubation period is 12 days. In the Great Reed-Warbler, the length of the incubation period was related to clutch-size when method 1 (r=0.485, p<0.05) and method 2 (r=0.621, p<0.01) were employed, but not related to egg weight. The averagee number of days of hatching asynchrony was 2.5, raging 0.5~2.5. Asynchronous hatching was related to the clutch size (r=0.66, p<0.01). Hatching sequence was closely related to the laying sequence (r=0.93, p<0.001), suggesting Great Reed-Warblers incubate their eggs before clutch completion. The effect of egg weight on hatching asynchrony was found in Great Reed-Warblers (t-test, p<0.01).

The theory of 4 great doctors in Geum Won era has been considered as a most scientific medicine after SangHanRon of Jang, Jung Kyung. And it influence for all the later medical theory and practice. I have found a common points between their Fire and Fever pathology and constitutional pathology of Li, Je Ma. The results obtained are as follows. 1. On the Viewpoint of medical history, there is common points in the fact that the start of Geum Won 4 great doctor' principle had been drived from awakening of the abuse of warm and hot herbs based on Hwa Je Guk Bang in the last stage of Song dynasty, and that the appearance of Sa Sang medicine was from the scientific reflection against the currency of the animation by warm herbs which was popular in the Jo Sun dynasty. 2. The theory of Fire and Fever pathology of 4 great doctors has been fixed in the principle of Cold and Fever pathology of viscera and bowel in the Sa Sang medicine. 3. The pathological meaning of 'internal fire' in the conculusion by 4 great doctors has got scientific fruit by Sa Sang medicine in its theory of four constitutional psychology and the formation of four visceras. 4. It is considered that the study of DongUiSuSeBoWon is needed for the relation with former medical theories.

The study was carried out to investigate the researches of Snake which was published papers in the TOXlCON(1990-2000), one of the most famous Journal of toxicology. And the results were as follows : 1. The number related with Snake is 195papers. 2. There were great papers related wih Cobra, and next is Tigris, Viper, etc. 3. There were great papers related wih protein in the composition of snake venom. 4. There were great papers related wih neurotoxin in the research of poisonous character. 5. There were great papers related wih Viper according to the anticoagulation. 6 Eight papers were published to study the immune response of snake venom. 7. The papers of molecular study of snake venom were seven. 8. The papers of anti-snake venom study were three.

Corrected transposition of great arteries associated with dextrocardia [I.D.D.] is a very rare congenital cardiac malformation in which the atria and ventricles are in discordant relation, as are the ventricles and great arteries, but the aorta is to the right of the pulmonary artery. A 13 year old male patient who complained cyanosis and dyspnea on exertion for 8 years, was diagnosed as congenitally corrected transposition of great arteries associated with dextrocardia [I.D.D.], large ventricular septal defect, patent foramen ovale and pulmonary stenosis. He was operated on Nov. 22 1978. The ventricular septal defect was closed with Teflon felt and the pulmonary hypoplasia was corrected with Rastelli operation successfully. On 34th postoperative days, complete heart block was occurred and permanent epicardial pacemaker was implanted with good result.

Voyager IRIS (Infrared Interferometer Spectrometer) observations of Jupiter's Great Red Spot (GRS) have been examined in order to extract the vertical distribution of phosphine. To the accuracy than can be achieved from this approach, there appears to be no difference between the PH3 distribution over the GRS compared with the distribution over the neighboring South Tropical Zone. This result is at variance with a pre-Voyager prediction of an enhancement of PH3 over the GRS resulting in the preferential production of red phosphorous in this location on the planet (Prinn & Lewis 1975). The composition of the red material remains an open question.
