Ab initio Study for Electronic Property and Ferromagnetism of (Cu, N, or F)-codoped ZnO

  • The effects on the ferromagnetism of the O or Zn defect in Cu-doped ZnO with the concentration of 2.77-8.33% have been investigated by the first-principles calculations. The Cu doping in ZnO was calculated to be a kind of p-type ferromagnetic half-metals. When the Zn vacancy exists in Cu-doped ZnO, the Cu magnetic moment increases, while for the O vacancy it is reduced. It is noticeable that the ferromagnetic state was originated from the hybridized O(2p)-Cu(3d)-O(2p) chain formed through the p-d coupling. The carrier-mediated ferromagnetism by nitrogen or fluorine does not depend on their concentration.

  • 반도체 웨이퍼 제조 공정 중 발생하는 질산, 불산, 초산으로 구성된 혼산을 재활용하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다 초기에 $NaNO_3$$Na_{2}SiO_3$를 사용하여 불산을 $Na_{2}SiF_6$로 침전시켜 회수하였고, 이 때 혼산 중 불산의 농도는 초기 110g/L에서 0.5g/L로 낮아져 불산 회수율은 99.5%였다. 불산회수 후 남은 혼산의 질산과 초산의 농도는 각각 498g/L, 265g/L였고, 이 혼산을 2단계 분별증류 법에 의해 분리 회수하였다. 1단계에서는 초산을 증류하여 질산과 분리해내고, 2단계에서는 증류된 초산 중 잔류하는 미량의 질산을 제거하여 순수 초산만을 회수하였다. 회수된 초산의 농도는 약 20%였고, 최종회수율은 약 87.5%이었다.

$LaGaO_3$:$Eu^{3+}$형광체의 합성 및 발광 특성 (Synthesis and Anaiysis of Photohnninescence Properties of $^5D_1$$^7F_1$ Transition in $LaGaO_3$:$Eu^{3+}$ Red Phosphor)

  • 최근 정보 표시 소자로 전계 방출 표시 소자(FED),PDP.LCD 등이 주목받고 있다. 음극선 발광 형광체는 FED뿐만 아니라 형광 표시판(VFD) 등이 중요한 핵심 소자이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 FED에 응용 가능한 새로운 모체 탐색을 시도하였고 $LaGaO_3$모체에 $Eu^{3+}$를 첨가한 적색 형광체를 합성하여 광 특성을 분석하였다. $Eu^{3+}$의 농도에 따른 발광 스펙트럼, 여기 스펙트럼과 잔광 시간 곡선을 통해 $LaGaO_3$: $Eu^{3+}$의PL거동을 규명하였다. 잘 알려진 $Eu^{3+}$ 캐스캐이딩(cascading)과 다중 음향 양자(multiphonon emisson)에 의한 cross-relaxation은 $LaGaO_3$: $Eu^{3+}$ 형광체에서도 확인되었다. 또한, Inokutti-Hirayama식으로 부터 결정된 $Eu^{3+}$ 사이의 다중극자 상호 작용(multipolar interaction)유형은 이중 극자 상호 작용(dipole-dipole interaction)으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구를 통해 $^5D_0$ 전이의 직접 소광 기구(direct quenching mechanism)를 새롭게 제안하였다. 소광 유형은 농도에 의존하며, 0.2몰 이하에서는 확산 율속 단계에 의한 소광 현상이 우세하다가 0.3몰 이상 부터는 $^5D_0$에서 전하 이동 띠(Charge Transfer Band,CTB)로 전이되는 직접 소광 유형이 지배적이다. 음극선 거동은 800V의 가속 전압하에서 여기시켜 측정하였고, PL거동과 같이 0.125몰일때 가장 큰 615nm의 발광 휘도를 나타내었다.

In Vitro Evaluation of Two Novel Antimalarial Derivatives of SKM13: SKM13-MeO and SKM13-F

  • Antimalarial drugs play an important role in the control and treatment of malaria, a deadly disease caused by the protozoan parasite Plasmodium spp. The development of novel antimalarial agents effective against drug-resistant malarial parasites is urgently needed. The novel derivatives, SKM13-MeO and SKM13-F, were designed based on an SKM13 template by replacing the phenyl group with electron-donating (-OMe) or electron-withdrawing groups (-F), respectively, to reverse the electron density. A colorimetric assay was used to quantify cytotoxicity, and in vitro inhibition assays were performed on 3 different blood stages (ring, trophozoite, and schizonts) of P. falciparum 3D7 and the ring/mixed stage of D6 strain after synchronization. The in vitro cytotoxicity analysis showed that 2 new SKM13 derivatives reduced the cytotoxicity of the SKM13 template. SKM13 maintained the IC50 at the ring and trophozoite stages but not at the schizont stage. The IC50 values for both the trophozoite stage of P. falciparum 3D7 and ring/mixed stages of D6 demonstrated that 2 SKM13 derivatives had decreased antimalarial efficacy, particularly for the SKM13-F derivative. SKM13 may be comparably effective in ring and trophozoite, and electron-donating groups (-OMe) may be better maintain the antimalarial activity than electron-withdrawing groups (-F) in SKM13 modification.

  • The structure of alclofenac was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The compound was recrystallized from chloroform solution in monoclinic system space group $C_{2}$/c, with Z = 8, a = 8, a = 23.349(9), b =14.295 (3), c = 7.192 (2) $\AA$, $\beta$ = 111.32 (3)$^{\circ}$, and $d_{dbs}$ = 1.29, $d_{caic}$ = 1.30. The structure was solved by direct method and refined by least-squares procedure to the final R-value being 0.044 for 1055 reflections (F ${\geq}6${\sigma}$(F)). The molecules are dimerized by OH..O type hydrogen bonds related by two-fold axis.

  • The structure of cinmetacin was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The compound was recrystallized from a mixture of acetone and water in orthorhombic, space group $P2_12_12_1$, with Z=4, a=35.681(8), b=9.482(2), c:5.071(1) ${\AA}$, $D_x=1.352 g/cm^3$, and $D_m=1.35g/cm^3$. The structure was solved by direct method and refined by least-squares procedure to the final R value of 0.036 for 1441 observed reflections ($F{\geq}3{\sigma}(F)$). The carboxyl group of the molecule is nearly perpendicular to the indole ring. The dihedral angle between indole ring and phenyl group is $64.5^{\circ}$. The molecules are linked together via O(1)-H ----O(3) hydrogen bonds, and arranged along 2-fold screw axis in the crystal. The intermolecular contacts are the normal van der Waals' forces.

차체의 탄성진동을 고려한 4기통 엔진 고무마운트의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of the 4-cylinder Engine Rubber Mounts with Elastic Vibrations of Vehicle Body)

  • In this study, the objective is determine the optimal design variable of engine mount system using the rubber mount of bush-type which is usually utilized in passive control to minimize vibrations of vehicle body or transmission from engine into body. The engine model adopted in this study is 4-cylinder, 4-stroke gasoline engine support- ed by 4-points. The system is modelled in 10 d.o.f.-rigid body motion of the engine & transmission in 6 d.o.f., elastic motion of vehicle body in 4 d.o.f.(1st torsional, 1st vertical and 1st & 2nd lateral bending vibration mode). To consider the elastic motion of vehicle body, find the eigenvalues and mode shapes of vehicle body by nodal testing and then determine the modal masses and stiffnesses of the body. The design variables of the engine mount system are locations, stiffness and damping coefficients of the rubber mounts(28 design variables). In case of considering the torque-roll axis for the engine, the design variables of the mount system are reduced to 22 design variables. The objective functions in optimal design process are considered by three cases, that is, 1) transmitted forces through engine mounts, 2) acceleration components of generalized coordinates for the vibration of vehicle body, 3) acceleration of specified location(where gear box) of body. three case are analyzed and compared with each other.

Influences of the Eu Concentration and the Milling Time on Photoluminescence Properties of Y2O3-H3BO3:Eu3+ Powders Prepared by Mechanical Alloying

  • $Y_2O_3-H_3BO_3:Eu^{3+}$ powders are synthesized using a mechanical alloying method, and their photoluminescence (PL) properties are investigated through luminescence spectrophotometry. For samples milled for 300 min, some $Y_2O_3$ peaks ([222], [440], and [622]) and amorphous formations are observed. The 300-min-milled mixture annealed at $800^{\circ}C$ for 1 h with Eu = 8 mol% has the strongest PL intensity at every temperature increase of $100^{\circ}C$ (increasing from 700 to $1200^{\circ}C$ in $100^{\circ}C$ increments). PL peaks of the powder mixture, as excited by a xenon discharge lamp (20 kW) at 240 nm, are detected at approximately 592 nm (orange light, $^5D_o{\rightarrow}^7F_1$), 613 nm, 628 nm (red light, $^5D_o{\rightarrow}^7F_2$), and 650 nm. The PL intensity of powder mixtures milled for 120 min is generally lower than that of powder mixtures milled for 300 min under the same conditions. PL peaks due to $YBO_3$ and $Y_2O_3$ are observed for 300-min-milled $Y_2O_3-H_3BO_3$ with Eu = 8 mol% after annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ for 1 h.

FED용 $(Y,Gd)_2O_2S$ : Eu 형광체 합성 및 발광특성에 관하여 (The luminescent characteristics of $(Y,Gd)_2O_2S$: Eu for FED)

  • FED용 적색형광체인 $(Y,Gd)_2O_2$S : Eu 분말의 합성과 부활성제로서의 $Gd^{3+}$ 의 영향과 이에 따른 미세조직의 변화및 저전압 발광특성등이 다양한 소결온도에서 조사되었다. 311 nm의 여기파장을 이용시 발광은 627nm에서 $^{5}D_0 \$\longrightarrow$ $$^7F_2$ 천이에 의해 일어남이 관찰되었고 $Gd^{3+}$ 5 mole%, $950^{\circ}C$ 소결에서 가장 높은 발광휘도를 나타냈으며 $Gd^{3+}$ 5 mole% 이상에서는 농도소광현상이 일어났다. 소결 후의 평균입자크기는 약 1 $\mu$m이었으며 $(Y,Gd)_2O_2$S : Eu의 발광효율이 $Y_2O_2$S : Eu 보다우수한 것으로 나타났다.

  • The substituted lithium ferrites combine useful ferromagnetic properties with high Curie temperature ranging from 55$0^{\circ}C$ to 85$0^{\circ}C$, [1] high saturation magnetization, [2] and low microwave dielectric loss.[3] Saturation magnetization of (Z $n_{1-x}$ F $e_{x}$)A[L $i_{0.5x}$F $e_{ 2-0.5x}$]$_{B}$ $O_4$ increased with zinc concentration, followed by a decrease at x = 0.7.[4] This is attributed to a dilution of the A-site with zinc which initially causes an increase in saturation magnetization due to the dominance of the B-site.
