Drag Reduction of a Three-Dimensional Car Model Using Passive Control Device (수동제어 장치를 이용한 3 차원 자동차 모형의 항력감소)

  • In this study, a passive control using a boat-tail device is conducted for a three-dimensional car model in ground proximity. We consider various boat-tails and investigate the mechanism of drag reduction by them. By varying the length and slant angle of boat-tail, we obtain drag reductions up to 40%. From the oil-surface flow visualization and hot-wire measurement, the drag reduction by the boat-tail is characterized by the shear-layer instability and reattachment on the boat-tail, forming a small separation bubble at the upstream part of boat-tail surface, resulting in the delay of main separation and drag reduction. At high slant angles, the flow fully separates and drag is nearly same as that of no control.

  • 쾌속조형기술은 제품 설계나 기타 물체의 형상 데이터로부터 광경화성 수지, 금속 등 다양한 재료를 이용하여 수 시간 내에 실물 모형을 제작할 수 있는 기술이다. 쾌속조형기술은 주로 자동차나 제품의 모형제작에 주로 사용되어 왔다. 사이버메드에서는 인체에 대한 3차원 형상화 기술과 쾌속조형기술을 이용하여 개인별로 상이한 인체 골격에 대한 비교적 저렴한 비용으로 실물 모형을 제작할 수 있는 기술을 개발하여, 국내 및 일본의 병원에서 수술 계획 및 모형 수술에 직접 적용하고 있다. 이 논문은 쾌속 조형 기술, 인체의 3차원 형상화 기술의 개요와 그 동향, 그리고 이를 결합한 수술용 인체 골격모형의 제작 기술과 적용 사례에 대해서 기술하였다.

The Dynamic Effect of Promotion of Natural Gas Vehicles on LNG Storage Facilities (천연가스 차량 보급이 LNG 저장설비 소용에 미치는 동태적 영향분석)

  • This paper attempts to analyze the effects of promotion of natural gas vehicles (NGVs) on LNG storage facilities and load patterns, and to verify economic feasibilities of NGVs as a DSM (Demand-Side Management) strategy. For these purpose, we have established an econometric mode. Results from the model indicate that natural gas demand in transportation sector will increase continuously, having a 7.84% share in total natural gas demand in 2014. By this analysis, the increased use of NGVs can result in a decreased requirement on the volume of around 1.3 LNG tanks lower in 2014. Also, it shows that TDRs can be reduced by 0.4 for the city gas and by 0.15 for the total LNG in 2014. As a conclusion, we suggest that the promotion of NGVs may play an efficient role as a DSM strategy, and should be considered as a promising strategy to optimize the investment needs in LNG sector as well as an environmental protection measures. Lastly, we acknowledge that a transportation module in our model is based on a Korean government's NGVs promotion plan, not on a market function.

  • The development of equipments which are for the collection and processing of digital images in digital photogrammetry is actively performed at the research about practical use. The close-range digital photogrammetry is widely using to determine accurate position, feature, and size of objects. The goal of this study is to judge the precise surveying possibility of a streamline object, like a vehicle, using digital close-range photogrammetry. The standard deviation of the calculated coordinates is respectively ${\sigma}_x$=0.434mm, ${\sigma}_y$=0.619mm, ${\sigma}_z$=0.387mm. The result values is enough to converge an accuracy required for the field of an automobile design. Therefor we suggest that the digital close-range photogrammetry could be use for the majority of industries.

  • A model engine having a flat cylinder head and a piston face and an off-center intake valve is investigated in this analysis. Calculation domain is confined to the half of the cylinder with swirl free inlet velocity condition. Due to the absence of measured inlet conditions, the inlet flowrates during induction period are calculated from overall mass and energy conservation requirements. Finite difference equation for velocity and pressure were solved by modified SIMPLER algorithm, standard k-$\varepsilon$turbulence model and hybrid scheme. From the result of prediction, dimensionless velocity distribution and turbulence intensities are investigated at each crank angle.

  • Making precise 3D maps using Mobile Mapping System (MMS) sensors are essential for the development of self-driving cars. This paper conducts research on the extraction of 3D objects around the roads using the point cloud acquired by the MMS Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensor through the following steps. First, the digital surface model (DSM) is generated using MMS LiDAR data, and then the slope map is generated from the DSM. Next, the 3D objects around the roads are identified using the slope information. Finally, 97% of the 3D objects around the roads are extracted using the morphological filtering technique. This research contributes a plan for the application of automated driving technology by extracting the 3D objects around the roads using spatial information data acquired by the MMS sensor.

  • 구글 어스(Google Earth)란 도구는 인공위성에서 찍은 사진들을 바탕을 3차원 지구 타원체에 바탕에 입힌 도구이다. 이 도구는 3차원 공간에서 OpenAPI등을 이용하여 3차원객체를 지구 타원체상에 구현 할 수 있다. 이러한 점들 때문에 많은 사람들이 주요 건축물을 구현하거나 실외 이동객체(자동차, 비행기 등)를 구현하여 더욱더 지구와 가까운 모형으로 구현을 해 왔다. 하지만 공간 정보란 것은 실외 공간정보만이 아닌 건물의 내부 구조나 쇼핑몰상의 유동 인구의 움직임등과 같은 정보도 존재한다. 이 연구는 구글 어스 상에서 내부 구조를 가진 건물을 구축하고 이곳을 탐색할 수 있게 해 주며 또한 실내 이동 객체들의 실시간 움직임을 구현한다.

  • While trust and commitment are core mediating variables for the purpose of maintaining the long-term relationship, in the context of the characteristics of company and the relationship performance of its members, there have been limited studies which explore as to how each of the dimensions has affects differently. The basic purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between an automobile manufacturer and its agencies. The main purpose of this study is to examine how each different dimension of trust and commitment on the automobile manufacturer has different mediating effects between the characteristics of company(organization characteristics, relationship characteristics) and relationship performance perceived by its agents. Another purpose is to investigate the mechanism by which the relationship performance of the agencies is improved. An empirical study surveying 115 sales office managers at a leading automobile manufacturer in Korea was conducted. An analysis of the collected data indicates that while the characteristics of company have a positive influence on the agencies' relational performance through the mediating role of both trust of benevolence and commitment, agencies' trust of their headquarter's benevolence has a different influence on the dimensions of commitment. Finally, the authors discussed some theoretical contributions and managerial implications. And then, they presented limitations of this study and the future research directions.

Safework을 이용한 쾌적한 운전좌석 설계 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 safework 소프트웨어를 이용하여 쾌적한 운전좌석에 대한 3차원 모델링을 하였다. 자동차 시트와 운전대의 조절 범위 및 레이아웃(layout), 그리고 운전자의 눈의 위치 등을 결정하기 위하여, 한국인과 미국인 체형의 95th percentile의 성인 남자와 5th percentile의 성인 여자, 그리고 50th percentile의 성인 남자에 대한 최적 운전상태에서의 엉덩이 점(hip point), 운전대 중심(steering wheel center), 눈의 위치(eye point) 등의 3차원상의 위치를 측정하였다. 인간의 모든 치수와 형태학적 윤곽 뿐만 아니라. 신체의 유동성, 기능적 제한 등이 충실히 반영된 safework 마네킹(mannequin)을 이용하 였으며, 여러 신체 부위의 복합적 움직임을 결정하는 역기구학(inverse kinematics)에 근거하여운전좌석을 모델링 하였다. Safework을 이용함으로써 기존의 마네킹이나 실물모형(mockup)의 제작에필요한 시간과 비용을 절약할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 인간의 신체 특성과 유사한 마네킹을 이용하여 인간과 환경사이의 인터페이스를 보다 효율적으로 모델링 할 수 있을 것이다.

Numerical Analysis of Three Dimensional Turbulent Flow in a HVAC Duct (HVAC 덕트내의 3차원 난류유동에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • In this study, three dimensional flow analysis in a HVAC duct was performed computationally using various turbulence models and compared numerical predictions such as outlet flow split, surface pressure distribution along the duct to experimental data. It's well known that accuracy of computational predictions of flow heavily dependent on turbulent models and discritization method. Therefore, in this work, to assess the ability of turbulent models to predict characteristics of duct flow, three kinds of models, namely standard $k-\varepsilon$, RNG $k-\varepsilon$ and modified $k-\varepsilon$, containing parameter for the effect of streamline curvature were employed and validated one another by comparing with experimental data. In results, modified $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model allows a successful prediction of static pressure distribution particulary at around strong curvature but little improvement flow split. In the futrue, adoption of CFD to design HVAC duct with modified $k-\varepsilon$ model will bring benefits of producing more accurate prediction, and also give designers more detail information much more than now.
