Since the multi-view video is a set of video sequences captured by multiple array cameras for the same three-dimensional scene, it can provide multiple viewpoint images using geometrical manipulation and intermediate view generation. Although multi-view video allows us to experience more realistic feeling with a wide range of images, the amount of data to be processed increases in proportion to the number of cameras. Therefore, we need to develop efficient coding methods. One of the possible approaches to multi-view video coding is to generate an intermediate image using view interpolation method and to use the interpolated image as an additional reference frame. The previous view interpolation method for multi-view video coding employs fixed size block matching over the pre-determined disparity search range. However, if the disparity search range is not proper, disparity error may occur. In this paper, we propose an efficient view interpolation method using initial disparity estimation, variable block-based estimation, and pixel-level estimation using adjusted search ranges. In addition, we propose a multi-view video coding method based on H.264/AVC to exploit the intermediate image. Intermediate images have been improved about $1{\sim}4dB$ using the proposed method compared to the previous view interpolation method, and the coding efficiency have been improved about 0.5 dB compared to the reference model.

In order to implement a real time hardware for keyword spotting, we propose a Single-End-Point DTW(SEP-DTW) algorithm which is simple and less complex for computation. The SEP-DTW algorithm only needs a single end point which enables efficient applications, and it has a small wont of computations because the global search area is divided into successive local search areas. Also, we adopt new local constraints and a new distance measure for a better performance of the SEP-DTW algorithm. Besides, we make a normalization of feature same vectors so that they have the same variance in each frequency bin, and each frame has the same energy levels. To construct several reference patterns for each keyword, we use a clustering algorithm for all training patterns, and mean vectors in every cluster are taken as reference patterns. In order to detect a key word for input streams of speech, we measure the distances between reference patterns and input pattern, and we make a decision whether the distances are smaller than a pre-defined threshold value. With isolated speech recognition and keyword spotting experiments, we verify that the proposed algorithm has a better performance than other methods.
Accurate DEM(Digital Elevation Model) generation using satellite images is an active research topic. This paper focuses on generation of a DEM with multiple Kompsat-2 images. For DEM generation, we applied an orbit-attitude sensor model and a RPM sensor model to stereo and multiple Kompsat-2 images respectively. For matching, we used an object-space based matching method. Through the result of this experiment, we could confirm that the sensor model from multiple images is more accurate than the model from stereo images. Also DEM from multiple images gave much better performance than DEM from stereo images.

Trainee can enhance his perception of and interaction with the real world by displayed virtual objects in simulation using image processing technology. Therefore, it is essential for realistic simulation to determine the occlusion areas of the virtual object produces after registering real image and virtual object exactly. In this paper, we proposed the new method to solve occlusions which happens during virtual target moves according to the simulated route on real image using improved object contour extraction by neighboring edge search and picking algorithm. After we acquire the detailed contour of complex objects by proposed contour extraction algorithm, we extract the three dimensional information of the position happening occlusion by using MER for performance improvement. In the experiment, we compared proposed method with existed method and preyed the effectiveness in the environment which a partial occlusions happens.
RFM is believed to be universally applicable to any type of the sensor. Most of researches carried out lately are concentrated on terrain-independent method, but the researches about approvement of accuracy by way of terrain-dependent method are required to increase a practical use of satellite imagery in nonprofessional groups. This research focused on a means to improve RFM solution, a matching technique, and a generation of DEM through a correlation analysis, with terrain-dependent solution. The result shows that accuracy problem which is caused by over-parameterization on RFCs was removed through correlation analysis, and it was possible to generate a accurate DEM with terrain-dependent solution. And also, the application of RFM with different satellite images show sensor independent characteristics of RFM
This study presents an investigation into South Korean films in the 1990s in the aspects of genre change and emotional reorganization. The 1990s witnessed a change of genres and a paradigm shift in the history of Korean films according to the revolutionary changes of the film industry structure and media environment. Believing that these changes had something to do with emotional changes driven by global capitalization symbolized by democratization in 1987 and the foreign currency crisis in 1998, the investigator analyzed the phenomena in film texts and examined the opportunities and context behind them. Unlike previous researches, this study made an approach to the history of Korean films in the 1990s with three points: first, this study focused on why the romantic comedy genre emerged in the 1990s and what stages its formation underwent since there had been no profound discussions about them; secondly, this study analyzed the biggest hits during the transitional period from 1987~1999 to figure out the mainstream genres and emotions during that period since these hits would provide texts to show the genre domain and public taste in a symbolic way; and finally, this study grew out of the separate investigation approach between melodramas and romantic comedies and looked into an emotional structure to encompass both genres to make a more broad and dynamic approach to South Korean films in the 1990s. History flows continuously without severance from previous times. When there is attention paid to inflection points and opportunities in the continuum, it can show the dynamics and structures of changes. This research led to the following conclusions: the mainstream genre of South Korean films had been melodramas until the 1980s. The old convention had been kept to offset or suture contradictions and excessive elements deviant from the structural consistency. Here, the structural consistency refers to no compliance to rational regulations or trade. The process of genre reorganization in the 1990s happened while securing some distance from the convention of making the structural consistency a sacrifice. The direction was to reinforce control through reasonable rationalism and logic of capital. It developed into romance, which would start with comedy to keep distance from the objects through laughter, heighten the level of remarks, and expand criticality, symbolize emotions with taste items, and build through the logic of mutual consensus and practical trade. In the 1990s, the South Korean films thus developed in a direction of moving away from the narrative of urgent pathos based on unconditional familism. It was on the same track as the entry of the South Korean society into the upgraded orbits of democracy and capitalism as the twins of modern rationalism since the latter part of the 1980s.
The purpose of this study is to improve the usefulness of photogrammetry in the field of cultural heritage recording concentrated on laser scanning. Two measurement methods(laser scanning, photogrammetry) were compared in terms of accuracy and reality for the Rock-carved Standing Buddha in Singyeong-ri, Hongseong. With regard to accuracy, the distances of major points by both shape information and between the two shape information were compared. Only a deviation of about 1mm was found in the distance measurement of the major points by both shape information. In particular, the average distance between two shape information identified through aligning was only about 0.01mm. Also, the absolute deviation within about 2mm accounted for 70% of the total, and the absolute deviation within about 3.5mm was found to be 95.4% of the total. These values showed very high similarity between laser scanning and photogrammetry-based shape information. In respect of reality, the carved depth, texture, and patterns were compared. As a result of comparing four cross-sectional shapes, only slight differences were found in the shape information of both measurement techniques and similar shapes were identified. The overall texture of both shape information was also similar. However, the detailed shape based on the photogrammetry with decimation is realized with a smoother texture than the original and laser scanning. In particular, Photogrammetry also realistically expressed the various ornaments carved in the Rock-carved Buddha and the patterns with shallow depths were comparatively detailed.
In this study, we investigated the characteristic impedance and bandwidth of CPW3DCS (coplanar waveguide employing periodic 3D coupling structures), and examined its potential for the development of a marine radio communication FISoC (fully-integrated system on chip) semiconductor device. To extract bandwidth and characteristic impedance of the CPW3DC, we induced a measurement-based equation reflecting measured insertion loss, and compared the measured results of the propagation constant β and characteristic impedance with the measured ones. According to the results of the comparison, the calculated results show a good agreement with the measured ones. Concretely, the propagation constant β and characteristic impedance exhibited an maximum error of 3.9% and 6.4%, respectively. According to the results of this study, in a range of LT = 30 ~ 150 ㎛ for the length of periodic structures, the CPW3DC exhibited a passband characteristic of 121 GHz, and a very small dependency of characteristic impedance on frequency. We could realize a low impedance transmission line with a characteristic impedance lower than 20 Ω by using CPW3DCS with a line width of 20 ㎛, which was highly reduced, compared with a 3mm line width of conventional transmission line with the same impedance. The characteristic impedance was easily adjusted by changing LT. The above results indicate that the CPW3DC can be usefully used for the development of a wireless communication FISoC (fully-integrated system on chip) semiconductor device. This is the first report of a study on the bandwidth of the CPW3DC.
A chameleonic surface proposed in this study was a pin-art and 3D display device for generating arbitrary shapes. A smooth and continuous surface was formed using slim telescopic actuators and high-elasticity composite material. Realistic 3D shapes were continuously generated by projecting dynamic mapping images on the surface. A slim telescopic actuator was designed to show long strokes and minimize area for staking. A 3D shape was formed by thrusting and extruding the high-elasticity material using multiple telescopic actuators. This structure was advantageous for generating arbitrary continuous surface, projecting dynamic images and lightening weight. Because of real-time synchronization, a distributed controller based on EtherCAT was applied to operate hundreds of telescopic actuators smoothly. Integrated operating software consecutively generated realistic scenes by coordinating extruded shapes and projecting 3D image from multiple projectors. An opera content was optimized for the chameleon surface and showed to an audience in an actual concert.
Since SBRT takes up to 1 hour from 30 minutes to treatment fraction once or three to five times, there is a possibility of setup error during treatment. To reduce these set-up errors and give accurate doses, we intend to evaluate the usefulness of pre-treatment and post-treatment error values by imaging CBCT again to determine postural movement due to pre-treatment coordinate values using pre-treatment CBCT. On average, the range of systematic errors was 0.032 to 0.17 on the X and Y,Z axes, confirming that there was very little change in movement even after treatment. Tumor centripetal changes (±SD) due to respiratory tuning were 0.11 (±0.12) cm, 0.27 (±0.15) cm, and 0.21 cm (±0.31 cm) in the X, Y and Z directions. The tumor edges ±SD were 0.21 (±0.18) cm, 0.30 (±0.23) cm, and 0.19 cm (±0.26) cm in the X, Y and Z directions. The (±SD) of tumor-corrected displacements were 0.03 (±0.16) cm, 0.05 (±0.26) cm, and 0.02 (±0.23) cm in RL, AP, and SI directions, respectively. The range of the 3D vector value was 0.11 to 0-.18 cm on average when comparing pre-treatment and CBCT, and it was confirmed that the corrected set-up error was within 0.3 cm. Therefore, it was confirmed that there were some changes in values depending on some older patients, condition on the day of treatment, and body type, but they were within the significance range.
