다중 평면의 3차원 모서리를 이용한 레이저 거리센서 및 카메라의 정밀 보정 (An Accurate Extrinsic Calibration of Laser Range Finder and Vision Camera Using 3D Edges of Multiple Planes)

  • 레이저 거리센서와 비전 카메라의 정보를 융합하기 위해서는 두 센서 사이의 상대적인 위치관계를 설명하는 외부 파라미터를 정확하게 보정하는 것이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 레이저 거리센서와 카메라 좌표계 간의 외부 파라미터를 기존에 알려진 방법보다 쉬우면서도 정확하게 획득할 수 있는 새로운 보정 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법의 접근법은 레이저 거리센서로 획득한 3차원 구조물의 모서리 정보를 영상으로 투영하였을 때 반드시 하나의 직선상에 존재해야 한다는 것을 제약조건으로 한다. 이러한 제약조건을 만족하는 3차원 기하모델을 제시하고 이 모델의 에너지 함수를 최소화하기 위한 수치적 해법을 소개한다. 또한 높은 정밀도의 보정을 위하여 레이저 거리정보 및 카메라 영상의 획득 과정에 대해서도 상세히 설명한다. 실험을 통해 제안된 방법의 성능이 기존의 방법에 비하여 보다 높은 정밀도를 보임을 확인할 수 있었다.

접촉식 프로브의 오차교정 및 보정기술 (Calibration/Compensation of Errors of the Touch Probe)

  • Touch trigger probes are widely used for inspection purposed in the CMM(Coordinate meauring machine) or machine tool. The errors introduced by measurement probe are fairy systematic, thus can be calibrated and compensated properly. This paper presents a technique for the error calibration and compensation of the probe errors, which can be easily applicable to the manufacturers and users of the measurement probe. The probe coordinate system is defined for the probe error assessment, and a reference sphere ball is measured, and the probe errors are calibrated. The calibrated probe errors are represented in the 3D error map and 2D error map along probing direction. Detail algorithms for the error compensation are proposed.

전극의 3차원 측정데이터로부터 방전가공조건 결정 (Determination of Electrical Discharge Machining Parameters from the CMM data of a Electrode)

  • This paper proposes a method for determining optimal EDM parameters based on discharge area from the physical model of a tool electrode. Main parameters, which affect the EDM performance, are peak value of currents, pulse-on time, and pulse-off time. Such parameters are closely dependent on the discharge area in EDM process. In this paper the discharge area is estimated from the CMM scanning data to the tool electrode. The method is very useful when any geometric information to the tool electrode is not provided from tool modeler or producer. The method consists of following four steps. First a triangulation mesh is constructed from the CMM data. Secondly, the z-map is modeled from the triangulated mesh. Thirdly, the discharge area is estimated from intersection between the z-map model and a z-height plane. Finally, the machining parameters are easily calculated by some known EDM equations to the discharge area. An example is introduced to show that the machining parameters are calculated from the CMM data to a tool electrode.

  • Noise cause is dividing to fluid noise by exhaust flow of fm and vibration noise by rotational vibration of motor. Until now, measuring method has been used to measure vibration by the accelerometer, this method has been not measured for the vibration in some parts of brush and commutator because of motor construction. This research was purposed on the accurate analysis, using laser vibration analyzer, of noise cause against the difficult part in old times. By using this measured data, we would like to use for the design of silent motor.

  • A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is a computer-controlled measuring device that uses a probe to obtain measurements on a manufactured part's surface. CMM's have been very popular over traditional hard gauges due to their flexibility, accuracy, and ease of automated inspection. This paper considers the use of a CMM for the inspection of gears. We compare the inspection capability of a CMM and that of a gear-specific measuring machine. The result of this paper may benefit gear manufacturing companies in their dimensional quality assurance activities, especially for special type gears and for large-scale gears which are not measurable by gear-specific measuring machines.

  • This paper proposes precision evaluation method for the positioning error of three-DOF translational parallel mechanism. The proposed method uses conventional CMM as metrology equipment to measure the position of end-effector. In order to obtain accurate measurement data from CMM, the transform relationship between the coordinate system of the parallel mechanism and the CMM coordinate system must be identified. For this purpose, a new coordinate referencing (or coordinate system identification) technique is presented. By using this technique accurate coordinate transformation relationships are efficiently established. According to these coordinate transformation relationships, an equation to calculate error components at any arbitrary position of the end-effector is derived. In addition, mathematical fitting models to represent the position error components in the two-dimensional workspace of the parallel mechanism are also constructed based on response surface methodology. The proposed error evaluation method proves its effectiveness through the experimental results and its application to real three-DOF parallel mechanism.

  • The objective of this research is in the development of a flexible 3-dimensional inspection system for the sculptured surface by integrating the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), CAD database, and vision system. To achieve the proposed flexible inspection system, two research categories are discussed in the study: new inspection planning method includes a new measuring point selection method and various new probe path generation methods. The object recognition and localization process for the unknown surface can be easily carried out by introducing a new concept called "Z-Layer". The experimental results indicate that the developed flexible inspection system, with the proposed algorithm, can be inplemented in real situation.situation.

코너부 모깍기 엔드밀가공시 가공정밀도의 최적조건에 관한 연구 (A study on the optimal conditions for machining accuracy when endmill fillet cutting at the corner)

  • Endmill fillet cutting at the corner was conducted with the online measurement of cutting forces and tool deflection by a tool dynamometer and an eddy current sensor system. The profile of the machined surface was also compared with the CAD profile with a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and CALYPSO software. It was found that the end mill cutter with four blades has a better surface profile than that with two blades, and the cutting forces and tool deformation were increased as the cutting speed was increased. When the tool located at the degree $45^{\circ}$ corner was found to conduct the maximum cutting force than started to the point of the workpiece. As it was compared with the CMM and ANOVA analysis result in the case that the cutting force and tool deformation was the maximum, it was found that the result was affected by the spindle speed and the number of blades.

냉각탑용 축류팬 형상 정밀도 측정 시스템 (Surface Profile Measuring System for Axial Fan of Cooling Towers)

  • An important component of a cooling tower is an axial fan, and there happens distortion in its shape which brings significant loss of efficiency. In this paper, a surface profile measuring system for large size axial fan of cooling towers is developed. A laser sensor is used as a measuring device and aluminum profiles and stepping motors are engaged into the system as frame structure and driving devices respectively. The measuring data are compared to the design data to compute the distortion of the axial fans. Two types of errors, axial and twist errors, are used to represent the precision of axial fan distortion. Genetic algorithm is used to solve the optimization problem during computing the precision. Results are displayed three dimensionally in a solid-modeler as well as 2-D drawings to help users find it with ease.

Hole-Plate를 이용한 NC공작기계의 공간 오차 측정 및 분석 (Volumetric Error Calibration of NC Machine Tools using a Hole-Plate Artifact)

  • A method of the volumetric error measurement and calibration of NC machine tools is studied using an artifact method. In this study, a hole-pate is designed and machined using stainless steel. We tested and applied the hole-plate artifact in a commercial CMM(Coordinate Measuring Machine), after calibration of the hole-plate using a precise CMM. It has been shown that not only the measurement of geometric error components but also the 2D length error calculation in a working volume is available using the hole-pate artifact method. The results of study can also be used in NC machine with touch probe as the same method in CMM.
