  • In this paper, using analytic method and the properties of the Legendre's symbol, we prove an exact calculating formula on the $2m$-th power mean value of the generalized quadratic Gauss sums for $m{\geq}2$. This solves a conjecture of He and Zhang [On the 2k-th power mean value of the generalized quadratic Gauss sums, Bull. Korean Math. Soc. 48 (2011), no. 1, 9-15].

  • The main purpose of this paper is using estimates for character sums and analytic methods to study the mean value involving the incomplete character sums, 2-th power mean of the inversion of Dirichlet L-function and general Kloosterman sums, and give four interesting asymptotic formulae for it.

임상간호사의 윤리적 의사결정 자신감 영향요인 (Factors Influencing Ethical Confidence of Clinical Nurses)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 임상간호사의 윤리적 의사결정 자신감 영향요인을 파악하고자 시도되었다. 임상간호사 125명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 자료수집 기간은 2014년 11월 10일부터 동년 11월 29일까지였다. 자료분석은 SPSS/WIN 21.0. 프로그램을 이용하여 실수와 백분율 평균, 평균평점과 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA와 Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients 및 stepwise multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 임상간호사의 제 특성에 따른 윤리적 딜레마 정도는 연령(F=3.14, p=.017)에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 윤리적 의사결정 자신감 정도는 교육정도(F=7.36, p<.001), 임상경력(t=-2.31, p=.024), 윤리강령 인지여부(t=3.17, p=.002)에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 윤리적 의사결정 자신감은 윤리적 가치관과 정적인 상관관계를 보여 주었다(r=.25, p<.001). 윤리적 의사결정 자신감은 윤리적 가치관, 교육정도, 윤리강령 인지여부에 따라서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 전체 설명력은 15%였으며, 다른 영향요인 보다 가장 큰 영향력은 윤리적 가치관 (${\beta}=.28$) 으로 나타났다. 따라서 임상간호사의 윤리적 의사결정 자신감을 향상시키기 위해서는 윤리적 가치관, 교육정도, 윤리강령에 대한 지식 정도를 향상시켜야 할 필요가 있을 것이다. 따라서 임상간호사의 윤리적 의사결정 자신감을 향상시키기 위한 프로그램의 실행이 필요하다.

Comparison of Gene Mutation Frequency in $Tradescantia$ Stamen Hair Cells Detected after Chernobyl and Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Accidents

  • Our aim was to investigate the genotoxicity of ambient air in the Krak$\acute{o}$w area after Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) accident and compare with results from Chernobyl fallout. For the detection of ambient air genotoxicity the technique for screening gene mutation frequency in somatic cells of the $Tradescantia$ stamen hairs ($Trad$-SH assay) was used. Since 11th of March 2011 (Fukushima NPP accident), several pots containing at least 15 shoots of bioindicating plants were exposed to ambient air at 2 sites in the Krak$\acute{o}$w surrounding area, one in the city center, and about 100 pots in a control site (in the glasshouse of the Institute of Nuclear Physics) Continuous screening of mutations was performed. Progenies of 371,090 cells exposed were analyzed. Mutation frequency obtained in the first 10 days has shown a mean control level (GMF*100=$0.06{\pm}0.01$). At scoring period related to influence of a potential Fukushima fallout, a significant increase of gene mutation frequencies above the control level was observed at each site in the range, 0.10~0.33 depending on the location, (mean value for all sites GMF*100=$0.19{\pm}0.05$) that was associated with a strong expression of toxic effects. In the reported studies following the Chernobyl NPP accident monitoring $in$ $situ$ of the ambient air genotoxicity was performed in the period since April $29^{th}$ till June $3^{rd}$ 1986 also with Trad-SH bioindicator. In general, mutation frequency increases due to Chernobyl fallout(GMF*100=$0.43{\pm}0.02$) were corresponding to fluctuation of radioactivity in the air reported from physical measures, and to published reports about increase in chromosome aberration levels. Although, recent data obtained from monitoring of the ambient air quality in the Krak$\acute{o}$w and surroundings are lower when compared to results reported after Chernobyl NPP accident, though results express a significant increase above the control level and also are corresponding with increased air radioactivity reported from physical measurements. Statistically significant in comparison to control increase in gene mutation rates and more prolonged than that after Chernobyl fallout increase of GMF was observed during the period following the Fukushima NPP failure.

  • This paper presents a methodology for satisfying the thermal comfort of Indoor environment and reducing the summer peak demand power by minimizing the power consumption for an Air-conditioner within a space. KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation) use the fixed duty cycle control method regardless of the indoor thermal environment. This method has disadvantages that energy saying depends on the set-point value of the Air-Conditioner and DLC has no net effects on Air-conditioners if the appliance has a lower operating cycle than the fixed duty cycle. A variable duty cycle estimates the PMV(Predict Mean Vote) at the next step with a predicted temperature and humidity coming from the back propagation neural network model. It is possible to reduce the energy consumption by maintaining the Air-conditioner's OFF state when the PMV lies in the thermal comfort range. The proposed methodology uses the historical real data of Sep. 7th, 2001 from a classroom in seoul to verify the effectiveness of the variable duty cycle method comparing with fixed duty cycle. The result shows that the variable duty cycle reduces the peak demand to 2.6times more than fixed duty cycle and increases the load control ratio by 8% more. Based on the variable duty cycle control algorithm, the effectiveness of DLC is much more improved as compared with the fixed duty cycle.
