Robust Controller Design for Hydraulic Dipod Platform Based on 2-DOF H Controller Synthesis Framework (2자유도 H 제어기 종합 프레임웍에 기반한 유압식 Dipod 플랫폼의 강인제어기 설계)

  • A hydraulic dipod platform is used for tracking and stabilizing an antenna system to designate a satellite on a moving vehicle. The 2-DOF controller is very well suited to this controller design object because it is more flexible than the 1-DOF controller when the design object is not only the consideration between stabilizing and tracking but also the trade-off between performance and robustness. The 2-DOF controller synthesis based on the $H_{\infty}$ framework is divided into two design procedures. In this hydraulic dipod platform example, the single-step method shows better performance whereas the two-step method shows better robustness. The difference between these two synthesis results is compared using the structural property of the interconnection system matrix.

  • This paper presents the tracking and stabilization problem of a night vision system for marine surveillance. Both a hardware system and software modules are developed to control azimuth and elevation axes independently with compensation for ship motion. A two degree of freedom(2DOF) PID controller is designed and its parameters are tuned using a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA). Simulation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • When we control the level of the steam generator in the nuclear power plants, a swell and shrink arises from many disturbances such as feed water rate, feed water temperature, main steam flow rate, and coolant temperature. If we use the conventional type of PI controller in this system, we will not have stability during controlling at lower power, the removal function of disturbances, and a load follow-up control effectively. In this paper, we study the application of a 2-Degree of Freedom(2-DOF) PID controller to the level control of the steam. generator of nuclear power plants through the simulation and the experimental steam generator. We use the parameters $\alpha$, $\beta$, $\gamma$ of the 2-DOF PID controller for the removal of disturbances and the parameters Kp,Ti,Td of the conventional type of PID controller for controlling setpoint. The back-propagation learning algorithm of neural network is used for tuning the 2-DOF PID controller. We can find satisfactory results of the removal of the disturbances and the tracking function in the change of setpoint through the simulation and experimental steam generator.

  • Energy harvesting in trams may become a prevalent source of passive energy generation due to the high density of vibrational energy, and this may help power structural health monitoring systems for the trams. This paper presents a broadband vibrational energy harvesting device design that utilizes a varied frequency from a tram vehicle using a 2 DOF vibrational system combined with electromagnetic energy conversion. This paper will demonstrate stepwise optimization processes to determine mechanical parameters for frequency tuning to adjust to the trams' operational conditions, and electromagnetic parameters for the whole system design to maximize power output. The initial optimization will determine 5 important design parameters in a 2 DOF vibrational system, namely the masses (m1, m2 (and spring constants (k1, k2, k3). The second step will use these parameters as initial guesses for the second optimization which will maintain the ratios of these parameters and present electrical parameters to maximize the power output from this system. The obtained values indicated a successful demonstration of design optimization as the average power generated increased from 1.475 mW to 17.44 mW (around 12 times).

  • This work deals with a 4-DOF flexible continuum robot that employs a spring as its backbone. The mechanism consists of two modules and each module has 2 DOF. The special features of the proposed mechanism are the flexibility and the backdrivability of the whole body by using a spring backbone. Thus, even in the case of collision with human body, this device can ensure safety. The design and the kinematics for this continuum mechanism are introduced. The performance of this continuum mechanism was shown through simulation and experiment.

  • Omnidirectional mobile robots are capable of arbitrary motion in an arbitrary direction without changing the direction of wheels, because they can perform 3 degree-of-freedom (DOF) motion on a 2-dimensional plane. In this research, a new class of an omnidirectional mobile robot is proposed. Since it has synchronously steerable omnidirectional wheels, it is called an omnidirectional mobile robot with steerable omnidirectional wheels (OMR-SOW).   • In this paper, we consider to apply of 2-DOF (Degree of Freedom) PID controller at D.C servo motor system. Many control system use I-PD , PID control system. but the position control system have difficulty in controling variable load and changing parameter. We propose neural network 2-DOF PID control system having feature for removal disturbrances and tracking function in the target value point. The back propagation algorithm of neural network used for tuning the 2-DOF parameter(${\alpha}$,${\beta}$,${\gamma}$,η). We investigate the 2-DOF PID control system in the position control system and verify the effectiveness of proposal method through the result of computer simulation.

  • 2-mass system is generally used as controller of the variable-speed to transfer electromotion power to mechanical load such as industrial robot, driving parts of electric vehicle, rolling machine system of steel plant and driving parts of elevator. In this case, PI controller is often used as a velocity controller because of simplicity of system. But PI control algorithm is not enough for obtaining the control characteristics required for this system. To solve this problem, 2-mass system based on the PID controller derives the optimum PID parameters by pole assignment and estimation of the ITAE performance index. In this case, the system have tenacious properties about disturbance, but it causes extreme overshoot and vibration because of rapidly output of controller in early transient response about desired value. And if speed control system is applied by 2-DOF parameter ${\alpha}$, a temporary value, we must induce most suitable parameter by complicate pole assignment and estimation of the ITAE performance index whenever ${\alpha}$ changes. In this paper, to solve this problem we suggest control algorithm to followed exactly value of ${\alpha}$ as 2-DOF parameter by using fuzzy algorithm . So, intelligence algorithm modeled by human knowledge, experience, teachability and judgment follow exact ${\alpha}$ value and it can compose the efficient 2-DOF PID controller to improve following performance, overshoot decrease.

  • This paper presents the stabilization and design of a pan-tilt control part for the directional pan-tilt system for shipboard directional equipment. In order to control each control axis with compensation for ship motion, the 2 degree of freedom(2DOF) PID controller is designed and its parameters are tuned using a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA).
