Although there are many needs to use 3D models in MEMS field, it is not easy to generate 3D models based on MEMS CAD. This is because MEMS CAD is based on 2D and their popular format-GDSII file format- has its own limits and problems. The differences between GDSII file format and 3D CAD system, such as (1) superposed modeling, (2) duplicated entity, (3) restricted of entity type, give rise to several problems in data exchange. These limits and problems in GDSII file format have prevented 3D CAD system from generating 3D models from the MEMS CAD. To remove these limits and solve problems, it is important to extract the silhouette of data in the MEMS CAD. The proposed method has two main processes to extract silhouette; one is to extract the pseudo-silhouette from the original 2D MEMS data and the other is to remove useless objects to complete the silhouette. The paper reports on the experience gained in data exchange between 2D MEMS data and 3D models by the proposed method and a case study is presented, which employs the proposed method using MEMS CAD IntelliMask and Solidworks.

MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) slot antenna that operates on the dual WiFi band(2.401~2.495GHz, 5.18~5.825GHz), in this paper, was studied. The basic theory for the slot design is based on the coupling between adjacent slot, and slots are fed by the each microstrip lines. Two slot antennas for the MIMO operation are located on the left and the right side of top of the metal notebook, and grounds between a notebook and two microstrip feeding lines are connected. Measurement of return loss showed under -6dB on entire design band, and isolation was below than -30dB. Radiation efficiency, average gain and peak gain for the left and the right slot were measured in the anechoic chamber, and showed good performances as 57.25%, -2.42dBi, 5.64dBi and 55.35%, -2.61dBi, 6.42dBi for the 2.4GHz band and 55.89%, -2.58dBi, 7.3dBi and 53.79%, -2.8dBi, 7.54dBi for the 5GHz band.

In this paper, we design and implement the simulator for the transmitter and receiver of 4D-8PSK TCM with 2.0, 2.25, 2.5, and 2.75 bits/symbol-channel transmission efficiency recommended by the CCSDS for satellite communications, and then analyze the BER performance of 4D-8PSK TCM system in AWGN channel. The transmitter of 4D-8PSK TCM is designed in accordance with the recommendation in the CCSDS standard. Meanwhile, for the receiver design of 4D-8PSK TCM, we design the differential decoder generalizing the differential encoder/decoder scheme. The trellis decoding algorithm is designed by applying the auxiliary trellis information and the Viterbi algorithm, and an 8-dimensional constellation mapper equation given in the CCSDS standard is deconstructed to design constellation mapper. Especially, we present the optimized receiver for 4D-8PSK TCM system by investigating the BER performances for the traceback lengths in the Viterbi decoder through computer simulations..

Fashion design, CAD production, and the use of digital software can shorten the time and production processes in the fashion industry, but there are still many limitations in how to similarly express textile textures. Having this awareness, how to implement the visual effects of textile texture similar to that of the real world in the virtual world is one of the major exploration tasks in the fashion industry. Therefore, this study aims to analyze examples of embroidery techniques in Christian Dior collections and explore how embroidery techniques in 3D CLO fashion design can express the texture of real clothes more similarly by creating virtual works through 3D samples and 3D CLO software. First, the analysis criteria and theoretical basis of this study were derived through a literature review on fashion textile embroidery techniques, identifying types and characteristics of embroidery techniques, and classifying them into 12 types. Second, photos of the Dior 2017-2023 SS/FW Ready-to-Wear collections were collected and analyzed through the case analysis VOGUE site. Third, it presents the production of 3D CLO works by deriving a method of implementing embroidery techniques through the design of sample textile embroidery techniques using substances 3D sample software. The study's has some limitations. First, in 3D CLO fashion design, the needle gap for embroidery must be widened to see the thread pattern. Second, by reducing the number of needles, it is necessary to imitate the actual embroidery effect. Third, it is judged that it will be effective to lengthen the thread and adjust the thickness of the thread. Fourth, the thickness of the entire embroidery pattern must be increased to enable a three-dimensional texture.

This paper reports on the design of an object tracker that utilizes a family of unscented Kalman filters, one for each tracked object. This is a more efficient design than having one unscented Kalman filter for the family of all moving objects. The performance of the designed and implemented filter is demonstrated by using simulated movements, and also for object movements in 2D and 3D space.

Design of civil infrastructures is generally based on 2-D drawings and analyses. Design provisions also specify the limit states using member based equations. Most construction projects are done through collaboration of engineers who have different specialized knowledge. Information technologies can dramatically enhance the performance of the collaboration. For the information transfer, we need a mediator between engineers. Object based 3-D models are useful for the communication and for the owners who have to maintain whole the information of infrastructures. In this paper, basic guidelines for the 3-D design according to design phases. Adequate interoperability of 3-D objects from any CAD system is essential for the collaboration. Owners, contractors and design consultants were considered as users of 3-D objects. Cost and performance of each design phases was investigated through the existing data.

In shipbuilding and marine industry, engineering and design software solutions have upgraded from the original 2D schematic data based CAD system to a modern 3D drawing-based system. Due to the fact that the massive amount of data usage in real time and data volumes of various engineering models including graphic data have increased, several problems such as lack of server resources and improper handling of 3D drawings have been raised. Besides, increasing the number of session connections per server can cause deterioration of server performance. Recently, increasing the yard's sophisticated design capabilities highlighted the need to develop engineering and design system which would not only overcome the network performance issues, but would provide efficient collaborative design environment. This paper presents an overview of the framework for collaborative engineering design system based on the virtual application (Citrix XenApp 6.5)and acceleration hardware technology of 3D graphics (NVIDIA GRID K2 solution).

The back-off input power level method is generally used for design of high linear mixer. In this paper, the predistortive mixer design method which attaches the predistortor in front of mixer is proposed to compensate the nonlinear characteristics of mixer and the predistortor has inverse nonlinear characteristics of mixer. The proposed method improves C/I ratio of mixer by 22 dB (@Po=-20 dBm/tone), 21.7 dB(@Po=-17 dBm/tone) with two tones of RF at 1852.5MHz, 1857.5MHz and LO at 2015MHz, respectively.

This paper describes the design and analysis of five-element planar array antenna of an anti-jamming satellite navigation system. We propose a design of multi-layer patch antenna for Global Positioning System(GPS) $L_1/L_2$ dual bands. The proposed antenna has two ports feeding network with a hybrid chip coupler for a broad bandwidth with Right-Handed Circular Polarization(RHCP). The measurement results show the bore-sight gains of 1.10 dBic($L_1$) and 0.37 dBic($L_2$) for the center element. The bore-sight gains of an edge element are 0.99 dBic($L_1$) and -0.57 dBic($L_2$). At a fixed elevation angle of $30^{\circ}$, antennas show average gains of -2.08 dBic ($L_1$) and -5.33 dBic($L_2$) for the center element, and average gains of -0.40 dBic($L_1$) and -2.09 dBic($L_2$) for the edge elements. The results demonstrate that the proposed array antenna is suitable for anti-jamming applications.
