The Relationship between Innovation Capability of R&D and the Firm's Performance : Comparing Regional Strategy Industry with Non-Regional Strategy Industry in Daegu (R&D 혁신역량과 기업성과 간의 관계: 대구지역 전략산업과 비전략산업 간 비교분석)

  • We examined the relationship between innovation capability of R&D and the firm's performance by mainly comparing regional strategy industry with non-regional strategy industry. Also, this analysis involved comparing the relationship by regional strategy industry. For the purpose of this study, we divided innovation capability of R&D into input, process and output. The first of main results in this study was that regional strategic industry was significantly higher than non-regional strategy industry in innovation capability of R&D with the exception of the CEO's mind for technological innovations. However, we found no significant difference in the firm's performance. Second, in the results of comparing innovation capability of R&D and the firm's performance by regional strategy industry, electronic-information equipment industry was significantly superior to other industries. Third, it was found that the relationship between innovation capability of R&D and the firm's performance was different by regional strategy industry. Also, R&D manpower and R&D process were more significant factors affecting the firm's performance rather than R&D input and output.

Vision based 3D Hand Interface Using Virtual Two-View Method (가상 양시점화 방법을 이용한 비전기반 3차원 손 인터페이스)

  • With the consistent development of the 3D application technique, visuals are available at more realistic quality and are utilized in many applications like game. In particular, interacting with 3D objects in virtual environments, 3D graphics have led to a substantial development in the augmented reality. This study proposes a 3D user interface to control objects in 3D space through virtual two-view method using only one camera. To do so, homography matrix including transformation information between arbitrary two positions of camera is calculated and 3D coordinates are reconstructed by employing the 2D hand coordinates derived from the single camera, homography matrix and projection matrix of camera. This method will result in more accurate and quick 3D information. This approach may be advantageous with respect to the reduced amount of calculation needed for using one camera rather than two and may be effective at the same time for real-time processes while it is economically efficient.

  • We need many assembly lines to produce industrial product such as automobiles that require a lot of composited parts. Big portion of such assembly line are still operated by manual works of human. Such manual works sometimes cause critical error that may produce artifacts. Also, once the assembly is completed, it is really hard to verify whether of not the product has some error. In this paper, for monitoring behaviors of manual human work in an assembly line automatically, we proposes a realtime hybrid monitoring system that combines 2D vision sensor tracking technique with 3D motion recognition sensors.

  • 아이폰을 비롯한 새로운 스마트 기기의 도입으로 촉발된 폭발적인 데이터 트래픽의 증가는 사회.경제적으로 큰 변화를 가져 왔으며, 앞으로도 그 추세가 계속될 것으로 예측되고 있다. 국내의 경우 증가하는 데이터 트래픽을 수용하기 위해 10MHz의 LTE 시스템을 도입하여 상용 서비스를 시작한 바 있으며, 올해 하반기부터는 20MHz의 광대역 LTE 서비스와 함께 2개의 반송파를 집성하는 CA(Carrier Aggregation) 기술이 적용된 LTE-Advanced, 즉 4G 상용 서비스를 이미 개시하였다. LTE 상용 서비스가 본격화 되기 시작하면서 제조업체와 대학, 연구소 등을 중심으로 다음 세대 이동통신 기술에 대한 관심이 보다 높아졌으며, 최근 LTE-Advanced 상용 서비스 개시를 계기로 5G 이동통신에 대한 논의가 본격적으로 시작되고 있다. ITU-R WP(Working Party) 5D는 2012년 7월에 개최된 제13차 회의에서 2020년 및 그 이후의 미래 IMT 시스템을 위한 비전(Vision) 및 기술동향 연구를 수행하기로 결정하였으며, 2013년부터 본격적인 연구에 착수하여 미래 IMT 기술동향 보고서와 미래 IMT 비전 권고를 각각 2014년과 2015년까지 개발할 계획이다. 이와 관련하여 3GPP와 IEEE 802도 현재 표준화가 진행되거나 진행 예정인 최신 기술들을 중심으로 미래 IMT 기술동향 보고서에 대한 기고를 제출하였다. 향후 ITU-R WP 5D는 전례로 볼 때 현재 진행 중인 2020년 및 그 이후의 미래 IMT 시스템을 위한 비전 및 기술동향 연구 작업이 마무리하면, 4G인 IMT-Advanced의 경우와 마찬가지로 5G의 기술적 요구사항을 정의하고, 5G 후보 기술규격을 외부 표준화 기구들로부터 제안 받아 5G 기술로 승인하는 과정을 밟게 될 것이며, 이후 이 요구사항을 만족하는 시스템을 5G 이동통신 시스템이라고 명명하게 될 것이다. 5G 이동통신 시스템에 대한 요구사항은 다양한 의견 교류를 통해 큰 틀에서 컨센서스를 이루어가는 중이며, 이러한 내용이 ITU-R WP 5D의 기술적 요구사항에 반영되어 보다 구체화 될 것이다. 반면 5G에 대한 기술적 접근방법에 대해서는 여러 시각들이 존재하는 것이 사실이나, 현재 이에 대한 논의가 활발히 진행되고 있으며, 결국은 관련 표준화 기구들에서의 논의를 통해 그 접근방법이 최종적으로 결정될 것으로 보인다. 본 고에서는 먼저 5G 이동통신 요구사항과 4G 이후의 표준화 기술에 대해 살펴 본 후, 향후 이동통신 기술이 어떤 시나리오에 따라 발전할 것인지, 5G 네트워크는 어떤 구조를 갖게 될지, 그리고 어떤 기술이 적용될 지 등에 대해 개인적인 시각에서 전망해보고자 한다.

Association of Depression with Atypical Features and Metabolic Syndrome in Korean Adults (한국 성인에서 비전형 양상 우울증과 대사증후군과의 연관성)

  • Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the association between depression with atypical features and metabolic syndromes in Korean adults using the 2016 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) data. Methods : We used the 2016 KNHANES data to enroll 277 participants with a score of 10 or higher on Patient Health Questionnaire-9. Depression with atypical features was diagnosed when at least two of the following criteria were met : 1) sleeping more than 10 hours a day ; 2) weight gain of more than 3 kg in a year ; and 3) fatigue/anergia. Depression was divided into two groups based on the presence/absence of atypical features. Physical and mental health, and risk of metabolic syndrome were compared between the groups. Results : Among the 277 participants, 91 had depression with atypical features. We identified significant differences in age, sex, income, and education between the two groups. After adjusting for these variables, depression with atypical features had lower EuroQol-5D index scores (p<0.001) and higher prevalence of metabolic syndromes (p=0.035) compared to the depression without atypical features. Depression with atypical features had higher odds ratio (OR) in association with metabolic syndromes after adjusting for confounding variables (OR=1.923 ; 95% confidence interval : 1.069-3.460). Conclusions : Depression with atypical features increases the risk of metabolic syndromes and lowers the quality of life.

INS/Vision Integrated Navigation System Considering Error Characteristics of Landmark-Based Vision Navigation (랜드마크 기반 비전항법의 오차특성을 고려한 INS/비전 통합 항법시스템)

  • The paper investigates the geometric effect of landmarks to the navigation error in the landmark based 3D vision navigation and introduces the INS/Vision integrated navigation system considering its effect. The integrated system uses the vision navigation results taking into account the dilution of precision for landmark geometry. Also, the integrated system helps the vision navigation to consider it. An indirect filter with feedback structure is designed, in which the position and the attitude errors are measurements of the filter. Performance of the integrated system is evaluated through the computer simulations. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm works well and that better performance can be expected when the error characteristics of vision navigation are considered.

Relationship of depression with the quality of life and oral health ofthe elderly Koreans: data from the 8th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (우리나라 노인의 우울이 삶의 질 및 구강건강과의 관련성: 국민건강영양조사 제8기 1차년도(2019)자료 활용)

  • Background: This study was aimed at reducing depression and improving the quality of life and oral health of the elderly Koreans by elucidating the effect of depression on their life quality and oral health. Methods: Original data from the 8th National Health and Nutrition Survey (2019) were analyzed and implemented. The elderly (age≥65years) Koreans were enrolled. The oral health status was determined using the Decayed, Missing, Filled Teeth (DMFT) index and subjective self-report. The quality of life was quantified as the sum of score of each item in the Euro Qol-5 dimension (EQ-5D) and Health-related Quality of Life Instrument with 8 Items (HINT-8). The t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed to statistically compare the quality of life, oral health status, and oral health status according to the depression status. Results: EQ-5D and HINT-8 scores differed significantly with the history of depression, current depression, stress perception, depression for 2 weeks, and annual suicidal intention (p≤0.05). The DMFT index score differed significantly with the depression diagnosis and depression for 2 weeks (p≤0.05). EQ-5D, HINT-8, and DMFT index differed significantly with all oral health behavior variables (p≤ 0.05). Conclusions: The results of this study could serve as a basis to formulate oral health programs for the elderly to reduce depression and improve the quality of life.

A Case Study on Blasting at the Tunnel Excavation in an Adjacent Section of a Subway Station (지하철역 인접구간에서의 터널 발파굴착 사례)

  • Recently, there has been an increasing number of cases of improving constructability by using electronic detonators with precise delay time in tunnel blasting sites. This case is a case of conducting test blasting using with non-electric detonator and electronic detonator at the site of 『Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railroad Route A Private Investment Project Section 00』 that requires careful management of vibration and noise. Although this site was designed with a non-electric detonator, it was attempted to improve the advance rate and control vibration and noise by mixing the non-electric detonator and the electronic detonator due to the decrease in the advance rate. As a result of the blasting, the target value was achieved with an advance rate of about 85% and a maximum measured value of vibration and noise is 0.215cm/sec and 73.22dB(A) which were measured below regulatory standards. As blasting works in downtown areas, it is necessary to designate measurement and management objects to continuously manage vibration and noise.

  • This paper describes the results of 2D mapping, feature detection and matching to create the surrounding environment in the mounted stereo camera on Mobile robot. Extract method of image's feature in real-time processing for quick operation uses the edge detection and Sum of Absolute Difference(SAD), stereo matching technique can be obtained through the correlation coefficient. To estimate the location of a mobile robot using ZigBee beacon and encoders mounted on the robot is estimated by Kalman filter. In addition, the merged gyro scope to measure compass is possible to generate map during mobile robot is moving. The Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot technology with an intelligent robot can be applied efficiently in human life would be based.
