Bi-2212 초전도 테이프에서 임계전류의 응력/변형률 특성에 미쳐는 외부강화의 영향 (Effect of External Reinforcement on Stress/strain Characteristics of Critical Current in Ag Alloy Sheathed Bi-2212 Superconducting Tapes)

  • Stress/stram dependencies of the critical current $I_c$ in AgMgNi sheathed multifilamentary Bi(2212) superconducting tapes were evaluated at 77K, 0T. The external reinforcement was accomplished by soldering Ag-Mg tapes to sin91e side or both sides of the sample. With the external reinforcement. the strength of tapes increased but $I_c$, decreased The $I_c$, degradation characteristic according to the external reinforcement was improved markedly in terms of the stress although it appeared less rectal.table on the basis of the strain. Effects of external reinforcement were discussed in a viewpoint of monitoring sensitivity of cracking in superconducting filaments by considering n-value representing the transport behavior of the current. It is closely associated with the location of them relative to the voltage-monitoring region in the tape.

Bi계 산화물 초전도체 2212상에서의 구조변조 (Structural Modulation in the 2212 Phase of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O Superconductors)

  • 고상반응법(solid-state reaction)으로 산화물 초전도체 Bi$_{2+x}$ Sr$_{1.8}$ $CaCu_2$$O_{8+\delta}$(-0.2$\leq$x$\leq$0.2)을 제조하여 조성변화에 따른 산소량과 Bi 이온의 하전가(valence)가 구조변조의 주기에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 2212상의 단일상 고용한계는 -0.1$\leq$x$\leq$0.1 영역이었다. 이 영역에서 x의 증가에 따라 격자상수 c는 감소를 보이며, 온셋 임계온도 Tc$^{on}$ 과 산소량은 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한, Bi 이온의 하전기와 구조변조의 주기는 단일상 고용한계 영역 내에서 x의 증가에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 구조변조의 주기는 산소량이 증가함에 따라 감소하고 Bi 이온의 하전가 증가에 따라 증가함을 보였다. 즉, 산소의 절대량과 Bi 이온의 하전가에 따라 구조변조의 주기가 변화하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Phase Stability of Bi2212 and Bi2223 Thin Films Fabricated by Ion Beam Sputtering

  • Bi2212 and Bi2223 thin films are fabricated by ion beam sputtering method. Three phases of Bi2201, Bi2212 and Bi2223 appear as stable ones in spite of the condition for thin film fabrication of Bi2212 and bi2223 compositions, depending on substrate temperature(T$\sub$sub/) and ozone pressure (PO$_3$). It is found out that these phases show similar T$\sub$sub/ and PO$_3$dependence, and that the stable regions of these phases are limited within very narrow temperature.

  • High quality BSCCO thin films have been fabricated by means of an ion beam sputtering at various substrate temperatures, T$\_$sub/, and ozone gas pressures, PO$_3$. The correlation diagrams of the BSCCO phases appeared against T$\_$sub/ and PO$_3$ are established in the 2212 and 2223 compositional films. In spite of 2212 compositional sputtering, Bi2201 and Bi2223 phases as well as Bi2212 one come out as stable phases depending on T$\_$sub/ and PO$_3$. From these results, the thermodynamic evaluations of ΔH and ΔS, which are related with Gibbs' free energy change for single Bi2212 or Bi2223 phase are performed.

The correlation diagrams of the BSCCO phases appeared against $T_{sub}$ and $PO_3$ are established in the 2212 and 2223 compositional films. In spite of 2212 compositional sputtering, Bi220l and Bi2223 phases as well as Bi2212 one come out as stable phases depending on $T_{sub}$ and $PO_3$. From these results, the thermodynamic evaluations of ${\Delta}H$ and ${\Delta}S$ S, which are related with Gibbs' free energy change for single Bi2212 or Bi2223 phase are performed.

  • For the practical application on SCFCL(Superconducting fault current limiters), Bi-2212 tubes were fabricated by Centrifugal Forming Process(CFP). The tubes were annealed at 830, 840, $850^{\circ}C$, respectively for 80 hours in oxygen atmosphere. The tubes heat treated at $840^{\circ}C$ demonstrated better electric characteristics than the tubes heat treated at 830 and $850^{\circ}C$. The typical value measured at 77 K in the self field was around 556 A. In terms of cooling effect on superconducting properties, it was found the electrical properties were quite dependent on the mold design and shapes. In order to check uniformity along the tube, EFDLab fur heat and fluid analysis of NIKA was adopted. It was found out that the simulation data was quite well matched with experimental results.

The correlation diagrams of the BSCCO phases with Tsub and pO$_3$are established in the 2212 and 2223 compositional films. In spite of 2212 compositional sputterina Bi2201 and Bi2223 as well as Bi2212 phases come out as stable phases depending on Tsub and pO$_3$. From these results, the thermodynamic evaluation of ΔH and ΔS, which are related with Gibbs' free energy change for single Bi2212 or Bi2223 phase, was performed.

  • High-temperature superconductor of Bi-2212 system was fabricated by CFP(centrifugal forming process). To make a uniform specimen slurry was prepared in the ratio of 7:3(powder:binder) and ball milled for 24 hours. Milled slurry was charged into a rotating mold with 450 rpm and dried at room temperature. Then the specimen was performed binder burn-out at 35$0^{\circ}C$ and heated for partial melting to 86$0^{\circ}C$. XRD analysis of most specimens were shown 2212 phase and observed a local plate shaped microstructure with a well aligned c-axis direction from SEM images. T$_{c}$(Critical temperature) of Bi-2212 was 64K.K.
