Microwave Assisted Reaction of Condensed Thiophenes With Electron Poor Olefins

  • Aminothienopyridazines 1a, b and aminothienocoumarin 2 condensed with DMFDMA to yield amidines 3a, b and 4. These compounds reacted with N-phenylmaleimide to yield 9 and 10. On the other hand reacting 3a, b, 4, 18, 19 and 20 with maleic anhydride afforded only the formylated derivatives 5a, b, 6, 21, 22 and 23 respectively. The reaction of 3a, b with diethyl fumarate afforded 11, formed most likely via hydrolysis of the amidine 14 during working up the reaction mixture. Irradiation of N-phenylmaleimide in microwave oven afforded [2+2] and [2+2+2] cycloaddition product.

품종에 따른 돈육의 지방 함량, 지방산 조성 및 전자코에 의한 향기 패턴의 차이 분석

  • 본 연구는 돼지 품종에 따른 지방 함량, 지방산 조성 및 전자코에 의한 향기 패턴의 차이를 분석하고자 실시하였으며, 평균 생시체중이 111 kg인 멧돼지 5두, 64 kg인 재래흑돼지 5두 및 114 kg인 개량종 돼지($Landrace{\times}Yorkshire$) 5두의 등심(M. longissimus) 부위를 본 실험에 이용하였다. 근내 지방함량은 재래흑돼지가 멧돼지, 개량종 돼지보다 유의적으로 높았다(p<0.05). 지방산 조성에서 C14:0, C18:3n3, MUFA/SFA 비율은 재래흑돼지가 가장 유의적으로 높았으며(p<0.05), C18:1n9는 개량종 돼지가 멧돼지보다 높았다(p<0.05). C16:1n7, C18:1n7, UFA/SFA 비율은 멧돼지가 가장 높았으며(p<0.05), C18:0, C20:1n9는 멧돼지가 가장 낮았다(p<0.05). C20:4 n6은 멧돼지가 개량종 돼지보다 높았고(p<0.05), C22:4n6은 재래흑돼지가 가장 높았으며(p<0.05), C22:5n3은 멧돼지가 재래흑돼지보다 높았다(p<0.05). PUFA n6/n3 비율은 개량종 돼지가 가장 낮았으며(p<0.05), 멧돼지가 재래흑돼지보다 낮았다(p<0.05). 전자코의 PCA에 의한 향기패턴은 신선육에서 품종에 따른 차이가 명확히 나타났으며, 가열육에서는 멧돼지 및 재래흑돼지, 개량종 돼지간에 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 재래흑돼지가 가장 높은 근내 지방 함량 및 가장 낮은 MUFA/SFA 비율을 가졌고, 멧돼지가 가장 높은 UFA/SFA 비율을 가졌으며, 개량종 돼지가 가장 낮은 PUFA n6/n3 비율을 가졌다. 또한 전자코에 의해 돼지 품종에 따른 돈육의 향기 패턴 차이를 효과적으로 분별할 수 있었다.

Power Noise Suppression Methods Using Bead with Spiral Resonator (비드와 나선형 공진기를 이용한 전원 노이즈 저감 방안 연구)

  • In this paper, to the aim of wideband SSN(Simultaneous Switching Noise) suppression characteristic, investigation of spiral resonator are used in conjunction with bead which is commonly used for noise suppression method. Bead works effectively to suppress the power noise up to the first harmonic of fundamental frequency, 0.8 GHz, and spiral resonator suppress noise well in the frequency range of SRF(Self Resonance Frequency) which is inversely proportional to the length of spiral. Thus, when bead used in conjunction with a spiral the noise suppression characteristic is determined by the one of higher impedance element of the two in the frequency range and achieves more broadband filtering characteristic. The case for using 22 nH bead turns out 4.8, 2.0, 0, and, 0.6 dB, and the case for using 22 nH bead in conjunction with 3-turns spiral achieves more wideband characteristic of 9.5, 8.3, 6.1, and 9.9 dB power noise suppression performances at the first, second, third, and fourth harmonics, respectively. The peak-to-peak voltage levels decrease from 76 mV to 56 mV using 22 nH bead, and the level decrease rapidly to 34 mV when using in conjunction with bead and 3-turn spiral. Thus more wideband SSN suppression characteristic can be achieved using bead with spiral.

Lipid and Fatty Acid Composition of the Antarctic Krill Euphausia superba

  • Total lipid content, lipid class and fatty acid composition of the Antarctic krill Euphausia superba collected from the water of King George Island, Antarctica during austral summer of 1997-1998, were investigated. The overall lipid content of 5. superba was 72 mg/g dry mass similar to the reported values for most temperate species. The neutral lipid of E. superba was 29% of the total lipid and that of phospholipid was 71%. The majority of neutral lipid was triacylglycerols(31.6% of neutral lipids) while phosphatidyl choline (44% of phospholipid) was the most abundunt in phospholipids. The quantitative composition of the fatty acid in E. superba show consisting mostly of the saturated 16:0 (16.6% -22.1%), along with the polyunsaturated 20:5(n-3) (20.6% -22.1%) and 22:6(n-3) (14.9% -16.9%) acids.

Effect of Dietary Eicosapentaenoic Acid on Serum and Liver Lipids Patterns of Male Rat (어유의 Eicosapentaenoic Acid의 식이섭취가 성숙쥐의 혈청 및 간의 지질조성에 미치는 영향)

  • The dietry effects of marine n-3, plant n-3 and plant n-6 fatty acid on serum lipids levels, liver phospholipid fatty acid composition in rat were investigated. Four groups of male Sprague-Dawley rats, 30 weeks old, were fed on one of 4 different experimental diets for 4 weeks. The diets were composed of 15% fat(w/w) of either concentrated EPA oil(20:5, n-3 : 65%), fish oil(20:5, n-3 : 19%, 22:6, n-3 : 18%), perilla oil(18:3, n-3 : 60%) or corn oil(18:2, n-6 : 49%). Blood was initially taken before experimental feeding and also taken after 2 weeks and 4 weeks feeding the diet respectively and then examined for the levels of serum lipids. Rats were sacrificed at 4 weeks after the diet for the analysis of liver phospholipid fatty acid. EPA feeding remarkably decreased the serum levels of triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and total phospholipid than any other oil feeding. Fish oil feeding decreased serum HDL-cholesterol level comparable to the effect of EPA feeding and decreased total cholesterol and phospholipid less than but close to the effect of EPA feeding. Perilla oil feeding did not change serum levels of triglyceride and phospholipid, but it decreased serum total cholesterol a lot and HDL-cholesterol a little. Corn oil feeding did not affect triglyceride and total cholesterol while it increased serum level of HDL-cholesterol and total phospholipid. Serum HDL-cholesterol level was increased only in corn oil group. But contrary to the result of serum total phospholipid, liver phospholipid level found to be higher in fish oil and EPA groups than in perilla oil and corn groups. The fatty acid composition of liver phospholipid, phosphatidylcholine(PC) and phosphatidyl ethanolamine(PE) turned out to be affected by dietary fatty acid. 18:2 of liver PC was the lowest in FO group following CO group. The ratio of 20:4/18:2 was lower in PO group than in EPA group in consequence of higher 18:2 and lower 20:4 in PO group and vise versa in EPA group. In the liver PC and PE, similar trends in the ratios of n-6/n-3 and 20:4/18 were found showing higher ratios with CO and EPA group over FO and PO group. EPA group showed the lowest level of 20:5 and lower level of 20:6 than group. Fish oil was more efficient than EPA oil and PO in lowering the ratio of n-6/n-3 in consequence of the highest 22:6, and the lowest 18:2 in liver phospholipid. But PO lowers the ratio or 20:4/18 more than FO. In conclusion, EPA oil was more effective in lowering serum lipids than FO and PO. Reviewing the dietary effect of fatty acid on eicosanoids composition in rats, it is considered that more possibility was with FO than PO in the effectiveness of atherosclerosis prevention and more with PO than with EPA oil. It was also found that FO showed more effective than EPA oil for atherosclerosis prevention. It was hardly found that CO had any effect on lowering serum lipids and on eicosanoids composition in liver phospholipid for the prevention of atherosclerosis.

On the Contrast of Aerosol Size Distribution and Cloud Condensation Nuclei Concentrations between the East and the West of the Korean Peninsula (대관령과 영종도에서 측정한 에어러솔 크기분포 및 CCN 수농도에 관한 연구)

  • Aerosol number concentration ($N_{CN}$), size distribution and cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) concentration ($N_{CCN}$) were measured during 16-21 August 2008 at Daegwallyeong (DG) located in the eastern rural region of the Korean Peninsula. In the very next week (22-29 August 2008) the same aerosol properties were measured at Yeongjong Island (YJ) in the Yellow Sea. $N_{CN}$ for all 3 size cuts (above 3, 6 and 10 nm) was significantly higher at DG than YJ, but $N_{CCN}$ was significantly lower at the former and resulted in the $N_{CCN}/N_{CN}$ ratio more than twice higher at YJ ($0.94{\pm}0.09$ vs. $0.35{\pm}0.15$ at 0.53% supersaturation). The geometric mean diameter at DG, $53{\pm}15nm$, was much smaller than that at YJ, $91{\pm}6nm$, due to the particle formation events that were likely to have occurred continuously at DG. For given mean diameter, aerosols were more likely to act as CCN at YG compared to those at DG.

Fatty Acid Compositions of Sea Algaes in the Southern Sea Coast of Korea (남해안 해조류의 지방산 조성)

  • Lipid contents and fatty acid compositions of 16 kind sea algaes in the southern sea coast of Korea were analyzed to evaluate nutrient significance of total polyene, n-3 polyenes and n-6 polyene fatty acids. Total lipid contents were 0.58 ∼ 3.00% in 9 kinds of brown algaes, 0.47 ∼ 2.16% in 5 kinds of red algaes and 0.55 ∼2..99% in 2 kinds of green algeas. N-3 polyenes and n-6 polyenes of the fatty acid compositions were 1.46∼25.67% and 0∼48.51% in the brown algaes, 1.17∼21.91% and 0.28 ∼29.35% in the red algaes, and 3.67%∼ 10.61% and 4.10 ∼ 8.66% in the green algaes, respectirely. The fatty acid contents and compositions of n-3 polyenes and n-6 polyenes, monoenes and saturates were vary different in the algae groups and sepecies.

Effect of Elevated $\textrm{CO}_2$ and Temperature on the Seedling Characteristics in Green Pepper (Capsicum annuum L. cv, Soonjung) ($\textrm{CO}_2$인 농도 및 온도 환경이 고추의 묘소질에 미치는 영향)

  • Green peppers (Capsicum annuum L. cv, Soonjung) were grown under different combinations of $CO_2$ concentration and temperature levels and examined on the effect of elevated $CO_2$ and temeprature on plant growth, carbon and nitrogen concentrations. Plant height was stimulated by elevated $CO_2$ levels at 20.3 and 22.6$^{\circ}C$. Leaf area and fresh weight were remarkedly increased by high $CO_2$ concentration at 22.6$^{\circ}C$. Dry weights of leaf, stem, root, and whole plant were increased as temperature increased at 611 ppm $CO_2$, but those values decreased at 22.6$^{\circ}C$ in 397 ppm $CO_2$ concentration. Elevated $CO_2$ increased plant growth by 1.5 times at 20.5$^{\circ}C$ and 22.6$^{\circ}C$. C/N ratio increased with increasing temperature under elevated $CO_2$ levels.

Selenium Content of Infant Formulas and Estimated Intake of Infants in Japan and Korea

  • Selenium contents of infant formulas that were commerically available in Japan and Korean were determined by the method of atomic absorption spectrometry with hydrode generation. Total means of selenium contents were 45.2$\pm$22.1ng/g(n=34) in all the Japaneses formulas and 58.3$\pm$18.9ng/g(n=22) in all the Korean formulas. selecnium contents of milk-based formulas (54.7$\pm$23.2ng/g in Japan, n=20 and 64.8$\pm$12.6ng/g in Korean , n=18) were significantly higher than those of soy-based formulas (36.8$\pm$11.0ng/g in Japanes brands, n=11 and 36.4ng/g in Korean one , N=1). Based on selenium data of these formulas the selenium intakes of infants have been estimated to be about 6.6$\mu\textrm{g}$/day and 8.1$\mu\textrm{g}$/day in Korean by milk-based formula feeding.

  • Syntheses of carbapenam skeletons were achieved from 1,3-propanediol through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition. 3-(Tetrahydropyran-2-yloxy)-(10) and 3-(t-butyldimethylsilyloxy) propanal (13) were obtained from 1,3-propanediol. 3-Hydroxypropanals (10, 13, 14) were reacted with N-hydroxyglycine esters to give C-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N-alkoxycarbonylmethylnitrones (15a-15d). 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition of the nitrones with methyl acrylate or ethyl crotonate gave 3-(2-hydroxyethyl)isoxazolidines (16a-16b, 17a-17b, 18, 19a-19b). 3-(2-Hydroxyethyl)isoxazolidines (17a, 17c, 19a, 19b) were converted to 3-(2-iodoethyl)isoxazolidines (21a-21d) or 3-phenylthiocarbonylmethylisoxazolidines (25a-25d) which were cyclized to give 2-oxa-1-azabicyclo[3.3.0]octanedicarboxylates (22a-22d, 26a-26d). 2-Oxa-1-azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane-4,8-dicarboxylates (22c-22d, 26c-26d) were transformed to 6-(l-hydroxyethyl)carbapenam-3-carboxylates (30a-30b, 31a-31b).
