  • This study was conducted for evaluation the geological, physical, and chemical properties of domestic sand by analyzing about 4,800 quality data of natural sand from river and land area surveyed until 2023 through the aggregate resource survey conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The average depth of the Quaternary unconsolidated sedimentary layer in Korea, which includes a sand layer, is about 10m (maximum depth 66m). The thickness of the sand layer within the sedimentary layer is most dominant in the range of 0.5m to 4.0m. This accounts for about 70% of the entire sand layer. In the sand layer, the ratio of sand, gravel, and clay is 60:20:10. Regardless of the provenance or geology, the sand is mainly composed of quartz, plagioclase, and K-feldspar, and the minor minerals are muscovite, biotite, chlorite, magnetite, epidote. The sand includes in 45~75% of quartz, 5~20% of plagioclase and K-feldspar, each other. And other minor minerals are included in 10%. The average grain size of sand is 0.5mm to 1.0mm, which accounts for 44% of sand samples. The water absorption rate and soundness are estimated to be suitable for aggregate quality standard in almost all sand, and the absolute dry density is suitable for 66%.

  • In order to setting the control standard of Chinese cabbage pests using a drone, the downward wind speed, spraying width, and the number of falling particles and particle size were examined using a water sensitive paper with spray different heights (3, 4, 5 m) and flying speeds (3, 4 m/sec). Fore kinds of pesticides for aviation control were used to test the perfect lethal concentration and dose for major pests of Chinese cabbage such as Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera exigua and Spodoptera litura. The number of falling particles in spraying pesticides with drones was 80.5% on the upper side, 14.8% on the vertical side, and 4.7% on the back side. The number of falling particles as different spray heights were 3 m = 53, 4 m = 40 and $5m=39particles\;cm^{-2}$. The number of falling particles as different flying speeds were $3m\;sec^{-1}=62$ and $4m\;sec^{-1}=25particles\;cm^{-2}$. In the laboratory test, the perfect lethal concentration and dose of Plutella xylostella was chlorfenapyr SC (20 times, $0.5{\mu}l$) and bistrifluron chlorfenapyr SC (25 times, $0.5{\mu}l$). The perfect lethal concentration and dose of Spodoptera exigua was chlorfenapyr SC (20 times, $1{\mu}l$), bistrifluron chlorfenapyr SC (20 times, $1{\mu}l$), and chlorfenapyr SC (20 times, $1{\mu}l$) and bistrifluron chlorfenapyr SC (20 times, $0.5{\mu}l$) for Spodoptera litura. Therefore, the main pest control method of Chinese cabbage using drones is 20 times diluted chlorphenapyr SC or bistrifluoruron-chlorphenapyr SC, sprayed at 3 m height by $3msec^{-1}$ of going speed. This spraying method will be effective for control of Chinese cabbage pest.

  • This study was carried out to identify the changes of EC during desalinization due to flooding in newly reclaimed saline soil. To do this, experimental plots were made of rotary tillage+water exchanging plot, flooding plot and rainfall flooding plot. In rotary tillage+water exchanging plot, drainage, rotary tillage and flooding were conducted at the interval of 7 days. In rotary tillage+water exchanging plot and flooding plot, plots were irrigated at the height of 10 cm. After 38 days desalinization, changes of EC values at top soil (0~20 cm) were as follows. In rotary tillage+water exchanging plot, EC decreased from $21.38dS\;m^{-1}$ to $2.16dS\;m^{-1}$ and in flooding plot, EC decreased from $13.97dS\;m^{-1}$ to $2.22dS\;m^{-1}$. In rotary tillage+water exchanging plot and flooding plot, EC values decreased below the EC criterion ($4.0dS\;m^{-1}$) of saline soil. In rainfall flooding plot, EC values decreased or increased according to amounts of rainfall and rainfall time. After 38 days, EC decreased from $16.7dS\;m^{-1}$ to $12.35dS\;m^{-1}$. In flooding plot, changes of EC due to soil depth were investigated. After 38 days desalinization, changes of EC due to soil depth were as follows. At 0~10 cm depth, EC value decreased from $13.08dS\;m^{-1}$ to $0.74dS\;m^{-1}$ (94.3% of salt was desalinized). At 10~20 cm depth, EC value decreased from $14.80dS\;m^{-1}$ to $3.69dS\;m^{-1}$ (75.2% of salt was desalinized). At 20~30 cm depth, soil was desalinized slowly compared with upper soil, EC value decreased from $13.57dS\;m^{-1}$ to $6.93dS\;m^{-1}$ (48.9% of salt was desalinized).

  • Change in phases, microstructures, and magnetic properties by the variation of quench rate and heat treatment were investigated for melt-spun $Fe_{77}Pr_{15}C_8$ ribbons. The amorphization of as-spun ribbons increased as the quench rate increased. As a result, the ribbon quenched at 40 m/s was almost entirely amorphous. Similarly to cast alloys, the primary phase in crystalline ribbons quenched at 10 m/s was $\alpha$-Fe followed by the secondary $Fe_{17}Pr_2C_x$. Crystalline phases were still dominant in the ribbon spun at 20 m/s, but in this case crystallization of $Fe_{17}Pr_2C_x$ was remarkable with a little suppression of $\alpha$-Fe. At 30 m/s an amorphous phase obviously dominated in the as-spun ribbons with small fraction of crystals. Therefore, substantial amount of hard magnetic $Fe_{14}Pr_2C$ was not obtained from the as-spun state but, as in cast alloys, produced only by a solid-state transformation. Within a few minutes fine grains of $Fe_{14}Pr_2C$ were easily obtained at relatively low temperature when the degree of amorphization of as-spun ribbons was higher. The grain size of $Fe_{14}Pr_2C$ was well less than 1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The ribbons quenched at 20 or 30 m/s yielded higher coercivities after heat treatment.

  • The effects of several parameters on PCR amplification in using RAPD were studied. The results of this study suggest that approximately 15 ng of genomic DNA in $20\;{\mu}l$ of reaction mixture results in discrete and reproducible PCR products. In addition, the results indicate that concentration or amounts of reaction components studied are highly inter-dependent in their effects, and RNA can interfere severely with PCR amplification. Suitable concentrations or amounts of reaction components were found to be 30 ng of 10-mer primer, $200\;{\mu}M$ of dNTP, 0.001% gelatin 1.5 mM $MgCl_2$, 10 mM Tris-Cl (pH 8.8), 50 mM KCl, 0.1% Triton X-100, 2 units of Taq DNA polymerase, and 15 ng of RNase-treated genomic DNA in $25\;{\mu}l$ of reaction mixture.

  • Let $M_n$ be the algebra of all complex $n{\times}n$ matrices and ${\phi}:M_n{\rightarrow}M_n$ a surjective map (not necessarily additive or multiplicative) satisfying one of the following equations: $${\det}({\phi}(A){\phi}(B)+{\phi}(X))={\det}(AB+X),\;A,B,X{\in}M_n,\\{\sigma}({\phi}(A){\phi}(B)+{\phi}(X))={\sigma}(AB+X),\;A,B,X{\in}M_n$$. Then it is an automorphism, where ${\sigma}(A)$ is the spectrum of $A{\in}M_n$. We also show that if $\mathfrak{A}$ be a standard operator algebra, $\mathfrak{B}$ is a unital Banach algebra with trivial center and if ${\phi}:\mathfrak{A}{\rightarrow}\mathfrak{B}$ is a multiplicative surjection preserving spectrum, then ${\phi}$ is an algebra isomorphism.

  • It has been investigated about aging theory. However, aging mechanism still remains to be unknown. Aging and aging related diseases might be due to oxidative damage and these were modifiable by genetic and environmental factors. For designing an optimal medical treatment and countermeasure against aging and aging related disease, it is necessary to understand the aging mechanism. Acetylcholine(Ach) plays an important role in memory. If someone doesn't have enough Ach, he has a tendency to catch a Alzheimer's disease. Corydalis tuber has been clinically used to treat heart disease, gastrointestinal disease and other diseases including endocrine disease in Oriental medicine. The purpose of this article is to investigate the inhibitory effect on Acetylcholinesterase and scavenging effects on NO, DPPH of Corydalis tuber Acua-acupuncture solution(CTAS). The results are summerised as follows; 1. There is a significant inhibitory effect of $0.01mg/m{\ell}$ CTAS group at 20, 30, 60 minutes and $0.1mg/m{\ell}$ CTAS group at 10, 20, 30, 60 minutes on AchE. 2. • This study numerically examined the maximum wind pressure distribution of a billboard on the roof of a middle-rise building. The deformation caused by the maximum wind pressure was examined. For the numerical analysis, the signboard was assumed to be installed on $(b)20m{\times}(d)10m{\times}(h)$ buildings. The maximum wind pressure was measured using four models with the standard model and different sizes of the signboard. The numerical analysis showed that the horizontal deformation predominantly occurs as the shape of the signboard becomes closer to a rectangle, and high wind pressure and deformation occur at the corners of both ends. As the height of the signboard increases, vertical deformation predominantly occurs, and static pressure forms on the backside. When the height is lower than the width of the signboard, the wind pressure is concentrated on the center of the roof. Therefore, the distribution of the maximum wind pressure is stable, and the effect of the wind pressure is relatively low as the height-to-width ratio approaches 1.
