In this paper, scenario-based urban flood prediction for the entire Jinju city was performed, and a simulation domain was constructed using G2D as a 2-dimensional urban flood analysis model. The domain configuration is DEM, and the land cover map is used to set the roughness coefficient for each grid. The input data of the model are water level, water depth and flow rate. In the simulation of the built G2D model, virtual rainfall (3 mm/10 min rainfall given to all grids for 5 hours) and virtual flow were applied. And, a GPU acceleration technique was applied to determine whether to run the flood analysis model in the target area. As a result of the simulation, it was confirmed that the high-resolution flood analysis time was significantly shortened and the flood depth for visual flood judgment could be created for each simulation time.
This paper presents a 2-D analytical method to calculate the back EMF of the axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator (AFPMSG) with coreless stator and dual rotor having magnets mounted on both sides of rotor yoke. Furthermore, in order to reduce the no load voltage total harmonics distortion (VTHD), the initial model of the coreless AFPMSG is optimized by using a developed analytical method. Optimization using the 2-D analytical method reduces the optimization time to less than a minute. The back EMF obtained by using the 2-D analytical method is verified by a time stepped 3-D finite element analysis (FEA) for both the initial and optimized model. Finally, the VTHD, output torque and torque ripples of both the initial and optimized models are compared with 3D-FEA. The result shows that the optimized model reduces the VTHD and torque ripples as compared to the initial model. Furthermore, the result also shows that output torque increases as the result of the optimization.

The traditional schedule management system provides project manager with analysis reports, such as progress control, earned value management and resource management, including schedule chart. However, the reports and functions in the traditional system are still limited in 2D concept. Recently, the scheduling method is using 4D concept that time of construction schedule is linked to space of drawings. This study presents the limitation of those systems and an improved method for developing 4D system through the comparative analysis of representative 4D systems that are developed up to date.
The use of short implants has been accepted risky from biomechanical point of view. However, short implants appear to be a long term viable solution according to recent clinical reports. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different diameter and length of implant size to the different type of bone on the load distribution pattern. Stress analysis was performed using 3-dimensional finite element analysis(3D-FEA). A three-dimensional linear elastic model was generated. All implants modeled were of the various diameter(${\phi}4.0$, 4.5, 5.0 and 6.0 mm) and varied in length, at 7.0, 8.5 and 10.0 mm. Each implant was modeled with a titanium abutment screw and abutment. The implants were seated in a supporting D2 and D4 bone structure consisting of cortical and cancellous bone. An amount of 100 N occlusal load of vertical and $30^{\circ}$ angle to axis of implant and to buccolingual plane were applied. As a result, the maximum equivalent stress of D2 and D4 bones has been concentrated upper region of cortical bone. As the width of implant is increased, the equivalent stress is decreased in cancellous bone and stress was more homogeneously distributed along the implants in all types of bone. The short implant of diameter 5.0mm, 6.0mm showed effective stress distribution in D2 and D4 bone. The oblique force of 100N generated more concentrated stress on the D2 cortical bone. Within the limitations of this study, the use of short implant may offer a predictable treatment method in the vertically restricted sites.
This study identifies the foot shapes of elderly men by classifying foot types according to the shapes of sole of foot and analyzing individual characteristics. The subjects were 269 elderly men over 60 years of age. Their right feet were measured indirectly with a 2D scanner. The anthropometric measuring items consisted of 38 items that were estimated on the right foot of each subject. The 2D scan data were analyzed by various statistical methods such as factor analysis, ANOVA and cluster analysis using the statistical program SPSS 19.0. A total of 8 factors were extracted through a factor analysis and these factors represent 77.83% of total variance. The 8 factors were: ball and lateral foot protrusion, ball gradient, medial foot protrusion, anterior and posterior foot length ratio, lateral ball length, heel size, toes breadth, and foot length, that explained 77.83% of the total variance. A total of 4 clusters (as their sole type) were categorized using 8 factor scores by cluster analysis. Type 1 was classified as H-type(toes width, foot width, heel width uniform and medial malleolus and lateral malleolus almost no protrusion). Type 2 was classified as V-type(foot width and toes width, wide and heel width narrow). Type 3 was classified as A-type(foot width and heel width, wide but toes width narrow, protruded inside). Type 4 was classified as D-type(protruded outside).
This study sought to observe systematic relationships through taximetrical analyses by morphological characters among the 10 species, on three species in the virilis section (D. virilis, D. tsigana and D. lacertosa) and seven species in the quinaria section (D. angularis, D. brachvnephros, D. curvispina, D. kuntzei, D. nigromaculata, D. takadai and D. unispina) of the subgenus Drosophila. In the cluster and the cladistic analysis among the members of subgenus Drosophila, 10 species was divided into the 1st group of D. virilis, D. tsigana, and D. lacertosa and the 2nd group of D. angularis, D. brachynephros, D. curvispina, D. kuntzei, D. nigromaculata, D. takadai, and D. unispina. In cluster analysis, the 2nd group had three sister groups; one sister group that clustered D. angularis and D. brachynephros then D. unispina was clustered to them, another sister group clustered D, curvispina and D. takadai then D. kuntzei was clustered to them and the other sister group of D. nigromaculata. In the 10 species, D. virilis and D. lacertosa were the first to be divided and then D. tsigana. Although 1st group which D. virilis was belonged can be determined as more primitive than the 2nd group, it seemed that this group was not the direct ancestor of the 2nd group, rather there should be another ancestor. Among the quinaria species group, D. nigromaculata was the first to be divided and D. kuntzei was the most recent species to be divided.
This paper deals with 2D and 3D analyses by finite element method for the characteristics of reluctance type transverse flux linear motor. Although 3D analysis is essential because of the characteristics by flux direction. 2D analyses are also used by considering the effective axial length and using the equivalent reluctance 2D model. The thrust, the normal force and the coenergy of the machine are calculated and compared by the results of the three analysis methods.

This paper deals with the performance analysis of impulse turbine for owe type wave energy conversion device. Numerical analysis was performed using a commercially-available software FLUENT. This parametric study includes the variation of the setting angle of guide vane. Since parametric study at various flaw coefficients requires tremendous amounts of computing time, two-dimensional cascade flaw approximation was employed to find out optimum principal particulars in rather simple manner. Full three-dimensional calculation was also performed for several cases to confirm the validity of two-dimensional approach. Results were compared to other experimental data, for instance Setoguchi et al (2001)'s extensive set of data, and found to be well demonstrating the usefulness of 2-D analysis. Advantages and disadvantages of each method were also evaluated.
IB (immersed boundary) method is one of the prominent tool in computational fluid dynamics for the analysis of flows over complex geometries. The IB technique simplyfies the solution procedure by eliminating the requirement of complex body fitted grids and it is also superior in terms of memory requirement. In this study we have developed numerical code (FOTRAN) for the analysis of 2D flow over a cylinder using IB technique. The code is validated by comparing the wake lengths and separation angles given by Guo et. al. We employed fractional-step procedure for solving the Navier-Stokes equations governing the flow and discrete forcing IB technique for imposing boundary conditions. Also we have developed a 3D code for the backward-facing-step flow and flow over a sphere. The reattachment length in backward-facing-step flow was compared with the one given by Nie and Armaly, which has proven the validity of our code.

The purpose of this study is the stability evaluation of a vacuum pump through modal test and rotor dynamics. Eigenvalue was solved by the finite-element method(FEM) using 2D and 3D models, then the modal test result was compared with the FEM result. According to the comparison, the analysis result using the 2D was more accurate than the 3D model. Therefore, rotor dynamics was performed by the 2D model. Campbell diagram and root-locus maps, which were calculated by complex-eigenvalue analysis, were used to evaluate the stability of the rotors of the vacuum pump. And displacement solved by unbalance response analysis was compared with the minimum clearance between two rotors of the vacuum pump. Thus, the vacuum pump is assumed operated under steady state through the evaluation of the rotor dynamics.
