표피로 부터 buildup 영역까지 흡수되는 암치료용 방사선의 선량분석 (Analysis of dose from surface to near the buildup region in the therapeutic X-ray beam)

  • 암치료용 방사선 (15 MV의 에너지를 갖는 광자선) 속에 있는 흡수선량과 불순전자 또는 산란 광자에 관한 분포를 광자선 면적 크기에 따른 변화와 광자선 면적을 반만 차폐시킨 선속에 대하여 연구 조사하였다. 광자선의 에너지를 15MV로 주어질때 광자선 최대 흡수깊이 $d^{max}$ 값은 광자선의 면적을 증가시키면 시킬수록(5$\times$5 에서 30$\times$30$\textrm{cm}^2$)d$_{max}$ 값은 감소된다. 이는 광자선 즉 방사선을 발생시키는 가속기 기계 속에 있는 여러 부품 (flattening filter, collimator jaws, tray holder,……)과 상호작용하여 형성된 불순전자로 인하여 d$_{max}$ 값이 표피쪽으로 이동되어 buildup 영역에 높은 선량흡수를 갖게 된다. 최대 흡수깊이 값을 계산할 때 이러한 현상을 고려하지 않으면 그릇된 data 값을 갖는다. 대부분의 불순 전자는 광자선 중심에 주로 분포하며 그 진행거리는 30.0mm 이하의 짧은 거리를 갖는다. 이 불순전자가 30.0mm이내(즉 buidup 영역)에 전부 흡수되므로 buidup 영역은 높은 선량흡수를 갖게되어 해를 주게된다. 그러므로 이러한 불순전자를 제거시키므로서 buidup 영역에 낮은 선량 흡수를 갖을 뿐 아니라 d$_{max}$ 값도 역시 깊은 곳까지 이동시켜 치료에 효과적인 방법 이 창출된다.

한반도 특산식물 꼬리말발도리의 분포와 생육환경특성 (Geographical distribution range and growth environmental characteristics of Deutzia paniculata Nakai, a Korean Endemic Plant)

  • The current status of geographical distribution range of Deutzia paniculata, one of the korean endemic plants, was investigated based on the species distribution information. The information of the geographical range used for analysis includes all the published references to the distribution of D. paniculata, herbarium specimens in Korea National Arboretum (KH) including its online database: http://www.nature.go.kr, and field research. Although, D. paniculata was firstly recorded in Wonsan, Hamgyeongnam-do, North Korea, this research revelaved that D. paniculata is mainly distributed in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do, southern regions of the Korean Peninsula. According to the distribution map, this species was estimated on distribution edge of in Anyang region of Gyeonggi-do, Mt. Naejang of Jeollabuk-do and Mt. Taebaek of Gwangwon-do on the distribution edge. However, it was made use of intensive field survey to identify the natural population of the species in these regions. D. paniculata habitat was mainly distributed between 290 meters and 491 meters in altitude, but it was also found ranged from 936 to 959 meters in Gun-wi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. The distribution slope was 5° to 35° and the north, N, NE and NW in the aspect. The flora of vascular plants in D. paniculata habitats was listed in 137 taxa: 54 families, 103 genera, 120 species, 2 subspecies, 12 varieties and 3 forms while Korean endemic plants were found in three taxa, Stewartia koreana, Weigela subsessilis and D. Paniculata. Based on a collection of non-biological environment and biological environment data, D. paniculata population were discussed to make strategy and basic research methods for sustainable preservation.

3D-QSAR Studies of 8-Substituted-2-aryl-5-alkylaminoquinolines as Corticotropin-releasing Factor-1 Receptor Antagonists

  • Corticotropin-releasing actor receptors (CRFRs) activates the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis, one of the 2 parts of the fight or flight response to stress. Increased CRH production has is associated with Alzheimer's disease and major depression and hypoglycemia. In this study, we report the important structural and chemical parameters for CRFR inhibitors using the derivatives of 8-substituted-2-aryl-5-alkylaminoquinolines. A 3D QSAR study, Comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) was performed. The best predictions were obtained for the best CoMFA model with a $q^2$ of 0.607 with 6 components and $r^2$ of 0.991. The statistical parameters from the generated CoMFA models indicated that the data are well fitted and have high predictive ability. The contour map resulted from the CoMFA models might be helpful in the future designing of novel and more potent CRFR derivatives.

  • Machining operations require removal of chips to keep the coolant clean and fresh throughout the operation time. In this study, microchip removal equipment was developed using AutoCAD and CATIA programs for 3D modeling and 2D draft. In addition, the flow analysis and electromagnetic field analysis of the equipment were performed using the COMSOL Multiphysics program. The flow design of the coolant oil tank was realized on the basis of fluid analysis results. Further, on the basis of magnetic density analysis, a conveyer was designed for effectively removing metal microchips in the tank by using arrays of neodymium permanent magnets.

2D GENUS TOPOLOGY OF 21-CM DIFFERENTIAL BRIGHTNESS TEMPERATURE DURING COSMIC REIONIZATION

  • A novel method to characterize the topology of the early-universe intergalactic medium during the epoch of cosmic reionization is presented. The 21-cm radiation background from high redshift is analyzed through calculation of the 2-dimensional (2D) genus. The radiative transfer of hydrogen- ionizing photons and ionization-rate equations are calculated in a suite of numerical simulations under various input parameters. The 2D genus is calculated from the mock 21-cm images of high-redshift universe. We construct the 2D genus curve by varying the threshold differential brightness temperature, and compare this to the 2D genus curve of the underlying density field. We find that (1) the 2D genus curve reflects the evolutionary track of cosmic reionization and (2) the 2D genus curve can discriminate between certain reionization scenarios and thus indirectly probe the properties of radiation-sources. Choosing the right beam shape of a radio antenna is found crucial for this analysis. Square Kilometre Array (SKA) is found to be a suitable apparatus for this analysis in terms of sensitivity, even though some deterioration of the data for this purpose is unavoidable under the planned size of the antenna core.

Design Study of LAR Tokamak Reactor with a Self-consistent System Analysis Code

  • The design of the blanket and shield play a key role in determining the size of a reactor since it has an impact on the various reactor components. The blanket should produce enough tritium for tritium self-sufficiency and the shield should provide sufficient protection for the superconducting TF coil. Neutronic optimization of the blanket and the shield is necessary, and we coupled the system analysis with a neutronic calculation to account for the interrelation of the blanket and shield with the plasma performance of a reactor system in a self-consistent manner. By using the coupled system analysis code, the operational space for a low aspect ratio (LAR) tokamak reactor with a superconducting toroidal field (TF) coil is investigated with an spect ratio in the range of 1.5 - 2.5. The minimum major radius which satisfies all the physics and engineering requirements increases with the magnetic field at the magnetic axis. A required inboard shield thickness is mainly determined by the requirement on the protection of the TF coil against radiation damage. It is shown that to have a fusion power bigger than 3,000 MW in the LAR tokamak with a superconducting TF coil, a major radius bigger than 4.0 m is required.

UBC3D-PLM 모델을 이용한 1차원 유효응력해석에 의한 액상화 평가 (Liquefaction Evaluation by One-Dimensional Effective Stress Analysis Using UBC3D-PLM Model)

  • 본 연구는 LNG저장탱크가 설치될 느슨한 포화사질지반을 대상으로 개정된 액상화 평가법과 UBC3D-PLM 모델을 이용한 1차원 유효응력해석에 의한 액상화 평가법을 비교한 것이다. 이를 위해 여러가지 실내 및 현장시험을 실시하여 필요한 Parameter를 산정하였다. 검토결과, 지진응답해석결과와 SPT N 값을 이용하는 개정 액상화 평가법은 액상화 발생 가능성을 높게 평가하였지만, 다양한 액상화 저항인자를 고려할 수 있는 유효응력해석법은 액상화에 다소 안정한 것으로 분석되었다. UBC3D-PLM 모델을 이용한 1차원 유한요소해석을 할 경우 보다 간편하게 액상화 안정성 검토가 가능하였고, 액상화 보강 영역을 최소화 할 수 있었다. 또한, LNG저장탱크의 기초를 고려한 2·3차원 수치해석 시에는 액상화 발생 시 내진설계 및 거동특성을 규명하는 것에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

HWAW 기법을 이용한 지반의 2차원 전단파 속도 평가 (Evaluation of 2D Shear Wave Velocity Imaging of Subground Using HWAW Method)

  • 수평적 변화가 심한 국내 지반에서는 지반의 2차원 전단파 속도를 비관입적인 방법에 의해 도출하는 것이 중요하며 많은 연구가 수행되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 속도 도출에 있어 기존의 표면파 탐사법의 단점을 극복한 HWAW(harmonic wavelet analysis of wave) 기법을 적용성을 평가하였다. 이 기법은 하모닉 웨이블릿 변환을 이용하여 파의 그룹(위상)속도를 결정하는 기법으로, 2개의 감지기로 구성된 단일한 실험구성을 사용한다. 주변 잡음의 영향을 효과적으로 제거하기 위해 신호 대 잡음비의 최대 부분을 이용하며 단일 어레이 역산을 사용한다. 또한 짧은 감지기 간격을 이용하여 지반의 국부적인 특성을 파악할 수 있다. 따라서 기존 방법에 비해 간단하고 빠른 현장 시험을 수행하며 신뢰성 있는 지반의 2차원 영상화를 도출 할 수 있다. 제안된 기법으로 구한 2차원 영상화의 적용성을 확인하기 위하여 2곳의 부지에서 시험을 수행하였고, 시추결과 및 다른 기법들의 비교 분석을 통해 제안된 기법의 적용성을 검증하였다.

A Study of Magnetic Field Annealing on Microstructures and Magnetic Properties of Nanocomposite Sm-Co/Co Films

  • A magnetic field annealing is firstly used for nanostructured Sm-Co/Co films, prepared by magnetron sputtering method. The effects of magnetic field annealing on single-layered Sm-Co films are different from those on multi-layered Sm-Co/Co films. A detailed analysis of microstructures and magnetic properties is made by means of HRTEM, Auger electron spectroscopy, XRD and Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS). From magnetic properties and microstructure analysis, it was confirmed that these differences originate from the effects of magnetic field annealing on crystallization behavior of the films. The relationship between magnetic properties and microstructures explains a different demagnetization process of single-layered and multilayered films. For the single-layered Sm-Co films, magnetic-field-annealing makes the main phases change from $CaCu_5/ to Zn_2Th_{17}$ structure, resulting in a decrease of coercivity. The results show that the magnetic-field-annealing is useful to improve the properties of nanostructured Sm-Co(30 nm)/Co(10 nm) films, which ascribe to improving the pinning effectiveness in coercivity mechanism and decreasing the magnetostatic interaction of films. A very high coercivity about 0.7 T was obtained from nanoscaled multi-layered Sm-Co(30 nm)-/Co(10 nm) films.

영역분할법을 이용한 2차원 유한차분 시간영역법 해석 (2D Finite Difference Time Domain Method Using the Domain Decomposition Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 영역분할법을 이용한 2차원 유한차분시간영역법을 제안하였다. 영역분할법은 전체 해석구조를 분할하여 해석하는 수치해석방법으로 본 논문에서는 영역분할법 중 Schur complement 방법을 적용한 유한차분 시간영역법을 구현하고 시뮬레이션 모델로 2차원 해석구조를 설정하고 사각형의 도체에 입사하는 전자파의 산란특성을 해석하였다. 2차원 해석구조를 4개의 영역과 8개의 영역으로 각각 나누어 전자파특성을 계산하였고, 제안한 해석방법의 유효함을 입증하기 위해 일반적인 전체영역에 대한 2차원 유한차분 시간영역법의 해석결과와 비교하여 잘 일치하는 것을 확인하였다.
