High-resolution satellite images are used in the fields of mapping, natural disaster forecasting, agriculture, ocean-based industries, infrastructure, and environment, and there is a progressive increase in the development and demand for the applications of high-resolution satellite images. Users of the satellite images desire accurate quality of the provided satellite images. Moreover, the distinguishability of each image captured by an actual satellite varies according to the atmospheric environment and solar angle at the captured region, the satellite velocity and capture angle, and the system noise. Hence , NIIRS must be measured for all captured images. There is a significant deficiency in professional human resources and time resources available to measure the NIIRS of few hundred images that are transmitted daily. Currently, NIIRS is measured every few months or even few years to assess the aging of the satellite as well as to verify and calibrate it [3]. Therefore, we develop an algorithm that can measure the national image interpretability rating scales (NIIRS) of a typical satellite image rather than an artificial target satellite image, in order to automatically assess its quality. In this study, the criteria for automatic edge region extraction are derived based on the previous works on manual edge region extraction [4][5], and consequently, we propose an algorithm that can extract the edge region. Moreover, RER and H are calculated from the extracted edge region for automatic edge region extraction. The average NIIRS value was measured to be 3.6342±0.15321 (2 standard deviations) from the automatic measurement experiment on a typical satellite image, which is similar to the result extracted from the artificial target.
Increasing costs and competition in the global trade and transportation arena have led to a search for effient, cost-effective, particularly through the application of computer and information technologies. Most recently the introduction of Electronic Data Interchange(EDI) technologies in both trading and trade facili-tation activitiess have bagun to change the complextion of the international transport space. Korea as well as the other developing countries has become aware of the need to embrace EDI strate-gies in order to maintain a competitive market position with their more technologically advanced neighbou-ring and international trading partners. A way of EDI implementation, KMPA has invested large budgets in the research of the EDI since 1990. As the result of study in EDI of transport, KL-Net(Korea Logistics Network) was organized for the EDI business in cargo logistics. In spite of these KMPA's activities, the development plan of container logistics data interchange is not good and useful. So a new model of EDI in transportation is required by using the concepts of cargo data sharing. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a new way of container logistics data interchange model. This paper therefore analyze the information flow in the current container logistics and find the problem in the area to derive a new model. The followings are the results of this paper : (1) There are many problems and user's requirements in container logistics data interchange in Korea. (2) Many messages of UN/EDIFACT are able to be used in container logistics data interchange. (3) The container cargo data are stored in Container Logistics Network(CL-Net) database. And when necessary by requesting message transmission, the container logistics data interchange is possible. (4) Customs cargo clearance system and PORT-MIS can be linked to CL-Net. If the systems, however, are to introduce EDI in data interchange, the quality of user's software has to be assured.
In contemporary advertising market, one of main trends is to speak surrealistic visual language which provides 'enjoyable spectacles'. Specially, in the beginning of 21st century, there discovered more and more exhibitions and discourses about surrealism reinterpreted from the viewpoint of postmodernism. Surrealism as a creative style of expression based upon free association, has been a great inspiration for fashion ads for commercial communication as well as fashion design since its origin. However, there has been ignored the idea of analyzing surrealistic image expressed in fashion ads in spite of their flood. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to grasp its cultural meaning through analyzing aesthetic characteristics of surrealistic image expressed in fashion ads. It will provide a better understanding of surrealistic image in fashion ads reflecting popular taste and preference directly as popular visual culture, focusing on post modern context. A case study of surrealistic fashion ads limits to TV or print commercials and digital ads as image ads stimulating visual expressions. The Results can be summarized as follows. Surrealism is an avant garde style which deconstructs the established meaning system as well as the existing formalistic order and then put them together in the frame of 'dream' and 'unconsciousness'. Defamiliarization questioning the whole edifice of representation can be adapted to. By means of paradox and metaphor, unfamiliar new visual world can be represented. The plastic characteristics of surrealistic image in fashion ads are founded as surrealistic styling of time and space, distortion of object by methods of automatism, depaysement, parody and trompe-l'oeil which bring about the deconstruction of gestalt. Aesthetic values of surrealistic fashion ads appear as dualistic representation, allegoric symbolism, fantastic romanticism. Ultimately they lead to marvelous. mysterious, humorous visual effects. Foster reinterpreted these effects of surrealism from Freud's 'Uncanny Concept'. 'Uncanny' means the phenomenon recurring to familiar being defamiliarized by repression. Surrealistic fashion ads strengthen this shocking effect more and more dramatically in company with our post modern needs for fantastic adventure and thrilling spectacle. It can be thought that surrealistic fashion ads reflects uncanny as an alternative which can relieve us of our stress and anxiety and which realize our potential desire in contemporary post industrial stage.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the Junk Art represented in the second half 20the century fashion. A 4.8-kb DNA fragment encoding the P-450 type hydroxylase and ferredoxin genes was cloned from Pseudonocardia autotrophica IFO 12743 that can convert vitamin D$\_$3/ into its hydroxylated active forms. In order to isolate the P-450 gene cluster in this organism, we designed PCR primers on the basis of the regions of an oxygen binding site and a heme ligand pocket that are general characteristics of the P-450 hydroxylase. Sequencing analysis of the BamHI fragment revealed the presence of four complete and one incomplete ORFs, named PauA, PauB, PauC, and PauD, respectively. As a result of computer-based analyses, PauA and PauB have homology with enoyl-CoA hydratase from several organisms and the positive regulators belonging to the tetR family, respectively. PauC and PauD show similarity with SuaB/C proteins and ferredoxins, respectively, which are composed of P-450 monooxygenase systems for metabolizing two sulfonylurea herbicides in Streptomyces griseolus PauC shows the highest similarity with another CytP-450$\_$Sca2/ protein that is responsible for production of a specific HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, pravastatin, in S. carbophilus. Cultures of Steptomyces lividans transformant, containing the P-450 gene cluster on the pWHM3 plasmid, was unable to convert vitamin D$\_$3/ to its hydroxylated forms.
TiAi intermetallic compound has been extensively studied for possible high temperature structural applications because of its high specific strength at high temperature, high creep resistance, and good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures. In addition to its good properties, an economic manufacturing routes should be developed for this material to be used more extensively. One of the promising route in manufacturing TiAl intermetallics is the Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS) method. Thus in this study, an attempt was made to study the mechanism of the SHS process in TiAl synthesis. The composition of the sample was Ti-(45, 50, 53)at% Al and the microstuctures of the products were analyzed using optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. When the phases formed at the main SHS reaction of whicyh combustion temperature is higher than the melting temperature of aluminum were identified as TiAl and Ti$_3$Al ; Ti$_3$Al cores surrounded by TiAl phase. In order to increase the combustion temperature, carbon was added 5 and 10at.%. When the carbon content was 10at.%, the heat of the reaction was large enough to melt the phase formed and that is consistent with the theoretical calculation results of the adiabatic temperature. The combution temperatue, which was measured by a computer data acquisition system, increased with the carbon content. The phases formed from the reaction involving the carbon added were indentified as TiAl and Ti$_2$AlC using XRD. The vickers hardness of the reaction product increased with the carbon content.
Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) disturb animal hormonal system even at very low concentrations, and finally give harmful effects to human through the food web. A white rot fungus Phlebia tremellosa isolated in Korea, was reported to have good degrading activity against the endocrine disrupting phthalates. However, this fungus has very low manganese peroxidase (MnP) activity under various culture conditions while laccase and lignin peroxidase activities were high. We have isolated an MnP cDNA from Trametes versicolor which was involved in the degradation of EDCs, and constructed an MnP expression vector to use in the genetic transformation of P. tremellosa in order to get higher MnP producing strains. Many transformants had integrated expression vector in their chromosomal DNAs, and showed increased MnP activity. One of two transformants showed increased degradation of 4 EDCs (70${\sim}$88%) than the wild type (30${\sim}$45% degradation rates), and showed twice better removal of estrogenic activities generated by the EDCs than the wild type.

A nonlinear speed control for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using a simple disturbance estimation technique is presented. By using a feedback linearization scheme, the nonlinear motor model can be linearized in a controllable canonical form, and the desired speed dynamics can be obtained based on the linearized model. This technique, however, gives an undesirable output performance under the mismatch of the system parameters and load conditions. To cancel disturbance by parameter variation, the controller parameters will be estimated by using a disturbance observer theory where the disturbance torque and flux linkage are estimated. since only the two reduced order observers are used for the parameter estimations, the observer designs are considerably simple and the additional load for computation of the controller is negligibly small. The proposed control scheme is implemented on a PMSM using DSP TMS320C31 and the effectiveness is verified through the comparative simulations and experiments.
Purpose: G-SEED's evaluation of existing buildings in Korea is an important point because the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of existing buildings are continuously increasing due to the aging of buildings over time. In 2016, the government has set up a 'Green Remodeling Certification Standard' in G-SEED in order to revitalize the green remodeling business of existing buildings. As a result, G-SEED is distinguished between buildings with green remodeling and buildings with general remodeling. Therefore, this study analyzed the system of the certification of the green remodeling building which is aimed at improving the performance of the building. Method: First, we analyze characteristics of the existing building certification standards of G-SEED(Korea), LEED(USA), and BREEAM(UK). Second, the evaluation criteria are based on the G-SEED Green Remodeling Certification, 2016, LEED for BD + C: New construction and major renovation v.4, BREEAM UK Non-Domestic Refurbishment and Fit-out 2014. Based on the analysis results, we propose the improvement direction of G-SEED Green Remodeling Certification Standard. Result: Existing buildings should be classified into 'existing building certification' for re-certification and 'green remodeling certification' accompanied by building performance improvement. In addition, building green buildings through performance improvement should include not only energy performance, but also creating a pleasant indoor environment and minimizing environmental impact. Finally, existing buildings have accumulated information on energy and resource use, and a performance improvement plan should be established based on this information.
