A Study of Perturbed Electromagnetic Waves in Rectangular Waveguide Filled with atransversely magnetized Semiconductor (정자계를 가한 반도체를 갖는 도파관내의 전자파이동에 관한 연구)

  • Perturbation thorpe for quantum mechanics is extended to the derivation of a power equation for microwave propagation in a rectangular waveguiad filled with N-type silicon which is transversely magnetized. This approximation evolves in a unified manner from the eigenvalue formulation of maxwell's equation wherein the wave numbers are tthe eigenvalues of a linear operator. TE10 wave at 9.61GHz is employed for the experimental investigation of the microwave propagation through a transversely magnetized semiconductor. Results from first order perturbation agree well with the experiment where the bridge method using two Magic Tees is employed.

Fuel methanol as an alternative fuels (대체연료로서의 메타놀)

  • 이글에서는 메타놀의 성상과 재래의 내연기관에 메타놀을 사용하였을 때의 특성을 몇 가지 관 점에서 살펴보았다. 유리한 점으로 판단되는 사실은, 1)옥탄가가 높아 고압축비의채용으로 열 효율을 높일 수 있다. 2)기화참열이 크고 물과의 친화성이 좋다. 이러한 점은 내부냉각방식의 채용으로 이상적인 충상혼합기를 형성할 수가 있을 것이며, 현재의 내연기관의 냉각계통, 즉 방 열기, 물펌프, 냉각휜 등을 줄일 수 있을 것으로 본다. 또 NO.chi.의 배출을 저하시키는 이점도 있다. 3)단일성분 연료이므로 배기가스 조성이 단순하며 깨끗하다. 이는 배기공해상 메타놀연료가 석유계연료보다 유리하다. 그러나 메타놀기관은 앞으로 기술적 연구, 개선을 필요로 하는 점도 있다. 1) 메타놀의 가솔린과 비교하여 인화점이 높고 기화잠열이 커서 시동성이 나쁘고 2) 메타놀은 어느 종류의 금속, 프라스택, 도료 등을 부식시킨다. 3) 메타놀은 세탄가가 낮아, 압축점화는 무리이며 4) 발열량은 석유계 연료의 약 절반이다. 따라서 시동성, 재료, 착화방법, 개질 가스의 이용법, 내부냉각 등의 기술적인 문제가 개발된다면 질, 량, 가격적인 면에서도 내연기관용에는 메타놀이 유리하다고 본다. 그러나 현시점에서는 기관측으로 보아 자동차용연료로는 가솔린에 혼합하는 방법이고 그렇게 된다면 20-30%의 연료가 절감되리라고 믿는다.

  • Solubilities (LiBr+$CaC1_2$) in water were measured at temperatures form 267.51 to 306.17K for $CaC1_2$ (LiBr+$CaC1_2$)=0.24 by mole. Experimental data were correlated with polynomial equations. Average absolute deviations between the measured and calculated values were 0.31% at concentration smaller than 60wt% and 0.41% at concentration larger than 60wt%, respectively. Vapor pressures were measured at temperatures from 296.75 to 436.75K and concentrations from 40 to 70wt%. Vapor pressure data were fitted to a Antoine-type equation and average absolute deviation was 2.98%. The P-T-X chart and H-T-X chart of $H_2O$/(LiBr+$CaC1_2$) system were constructed by using the correlation equations of solubility, vaper pressure, and heat capacity. The P-T-X chart indicates that $H_2O$/(LiBr+$CaC1_2$) system has potential as a possible working fluid for air-cooled absorption chillers.

Effect of p-Phenylenediamine to Rat Skin (p-Phenylenediamine이 흰쥐의 피부 조직에 미치는 영향)

  • Red brownish p-pheylenediamine (PPD) has been widely used hair dye for women. The dye was known to cause systemic anaphylaxis, dermatitis and bladder cancer. But the effect of PPD toxicity with oxygen free radical has not been studied. This study investigated the degree of skin injury by PPD. PPD ($2.5\%$ PPD in $2\%\;NH_{4}OH$) was applied to the rat skin ($25 mg/16.5\;cm^2$) 3 or 5 times every other day. Histopathological findings demonstrated the proliferation of epithelial cells and the increased keratinization by PPD. The activities of glucose 6-phosphatase (G6Pase) was decreased and acid phosphatase (ACP) was increased in PPD-applied rat skin. Groups in which PPD was applied 5 times were more damaged than groups applied 3 times. To examine the relationship between tissue damage and oxygen free radicals, effect of PPD on xanthine oxidase (XO) activity was measured and XO activity was more significantly increased in the group treated with PPD 5 times than 3 times. However, reduced glutathione (GSH) content, and the activities of catalase (CAT), super-oxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione S -transferase (GST) were more decreased in PPD-applied groups than in controls. Even though the activities of XOD was not changed in the group treated with PPD 3 times, the decreased activities of oxygen free radical system and the damaged skin tissue were observed. This result might be caused by the production of toxic PPD metabolites in rat skin. In conclusion, topical PPD application led to skin injury in a dose-dependent manner, probably due to the generation rate of oxygen free radical.

An Experimental Study on the Self-Consolidating Concrete with EP Nylon Fiber (EP 나일론섬유를 혼입한 자기충전콘크리트(SCC)에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, we find out the feasibility of self-consolidating concrete with EP nylon fiber. Three kinds of method were used; when length of nylon fiber is differed for the experiment to investigate usability of nylon fiber with enhanced performance by dispersing-agent coating in self-consolidating concrete, when mixing in other organic fibers (polypropylene, cellulose) and in case of Binary Blended and Ternary Blended concrete mixed with different types of mineral admixtures (blast-furnace slag and fly ash). Based on the results of the experiment described above, comparison was made on the basic properties and dynamic characteristics of general fiber reinforced concrete mixed with enhanced performance nylon fiber and SCC mixed with enhanced performance nylon fiber as a Mock-up test prior to the experiment of application to the actual structure. Considering characteristics and durability of the fresh and hardened self-compacting concrete, dynamic characteristics and durability were found to be more outstanding when using nylon fiber for the mineral admixtures used, dynamic characteristics and durability were found to be more outstanding when using blast-furnace slag.

  • 투명전도막은 FPD의 전자부품에서 전극으로 널리 사용되고 있으며 현재 대부분의 투명전도막으로는 ITO가 사용되고 있다. 하지만, ITO에 사용되는 In은 희유금속으로 지속적인 사용량 증가로 가격의 급등과 더불어 수급 불안정으로 인해 In을 대체하고자 하는 연구가 집중적으로 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 $In_2O_3$를 대체한 ZnO계 등은 비저항이 높아 대체 적용이 가능하지 못하고 있다. 이에 In의 양을 줄이면서 상대적으로 저가이면서 광학적 특성이 우수한 ZnO을 첨가하여 기존의 ITO에 상응하는 전기전도도와 광투과율을 얻을 수 있는 새로운 3성분계 TCO 에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구그룹은 $In_2O_3$을 기본 조성으로 하는 $In_2O_3-ZnO-SnO_2$계를 선정하여 IZTO target을 제조 후 RF magnetron sputtering 방법으로 투명전도막을 제작하였다. 본 연구에서는 RF 파워와 동작압력, 동작시간 그리고 열처리온도의 증착 조건에 따른 IZTO 박막의 특성을 평가하였다. 박막의 특성 및 표면 미세구조를 관찰하기 위해 AFM(Atomic Force Microscope)을 이용하였으며, XRD(X-ray diffraction)을 이용하여 결정성을 분석하였고, 4 point-prove, Hall effect measurement와 UV/Visible spectrometer를 통해 전기적, 광학적 특성을 평가하였다.

ZnO-SnO2 co-sputtering 박막의 전기적, 광학적 특성 고찰

  • Zn-Sn-O (ZTO) 다성분계 산화물 박막은 일반적인 rf 스퍼터법으로 성막할 경우 비정질상으로 성장하여 결정질 산화물 박막에 비해 우수한 표면평탄도와 식각 단면을 제공한다. 비정질임에도 불구하고 넓은 자유전하 농도 범위에서 높은 Hall 이동도를 제공할 수 있는 것으로 보고되어 있어 비정질 산화물의 투명도전성 박막에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 투명 TFT에 적용되는 또 다른 비정질계 산화물 박막인 In-Zn-O (IZO) 박막에 비해 ZTO 박막은 상대적으로 제한된 연구가 이루어졌으나, In의 함유되지 않아 경제적으로 유리하고, 특히 SnO2의 우수한 기계적 및 화학적 특성과 ZnO의 내환원성 특성을 잠재하고 있는 유망한 투명도전성 박막재료이다. 본 연구에서는 Zn-Sn-O계 박막을 통상의 rf 스퍼터법으로 성막하여 조성, 증착 온도, 그리고 열처리 온도에 따른 ZTO 박막의 구조적인 특성 변화와 이에 따른 전기적 및 광학적 특성 변화에 대하여 고찰하였다. ZnO 타겟과 SnO2 타겟을 사용하여 co-sputtering하여 ZnO의 부피 분률을 13~59 mol%까지 변화되도록 조절하여 증착하였다. 증착 온도는 상온, 150 및 $300^{\circ}C$로, 그리고 성막가스 중의 산소분률은 0%, 0.5% 및 1% 로 변화시켰다. 40 mol% 이상의 ZnO를 함유한 ZTO 박막은 가시광 영역에서의 평균 광투과도는 좋으나 전기적인 특성이 열악하였으며, ZnO 분율이 낮은 ZTO 박막은 10-2~10-3 ohm-cm 정도의 비교적 낮은 비저항을 나타내었으나 광투과도 면에서 떨어지는 단점을 보였다. 평균 광투과도는 증착 온도가 증가할수록, 그리고 산소의 양이 증가할수록 향상 되었다. 자유전하농도가 1017~1020 cm-3 정도의 넓은 범위에서 10 cm2/Vs 을 넘는 홀 이동도를 가지는 ZTO 박막의 증착이 가능함을 확인하였으며, 이로부터 투명 TFT 소자로 적용이 가능성이 있음을 보였다. EPMA를 이용한 정량분석 및 XRD를 이용한 구조분석과 연계한 ZTO 박막의 물성 및 최적 조건에 대한 논의가 이루어질 것이다.

Synthesis of Zeolite Using Discharged Fly Ash in an Industrial Complex in Ulsan (울산지역 공단에서 발생되는 비산재를 이용한 제올라이트 합성)

  • In this study, zeolite was synthesized by hydrothermal, fusion, and fusion/hydrothermal methods with fly ash, coal fly ash, and a waste catalyst discharged from thermal power plants and incinerator in Ulsan area. Coal fly ashes (CFAs) and a waste catalyst containing amounts of $SiO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$ ranging from 60.29 to 89.62 wt%. CFAs were mainly composed of quartz and mullite which were assayed by a XRD pattern. Zeolite could be synthesized by CFAs and the waste catalyst when all methods were used. Na-A zeolite (Z-C1, Z-C2, and Z-W5) are mainly synthesized by the fusion method from CFAs and the waste catalyst. Z-C1 and Z-C2 formed by-products, calcite peaks, which is caused by the content of CaO in CFAs and the addition of $Na_2CO_3$ for a synthetic process.

Analysis of Refractive Errors of the before and after Cataract Surgery by Auto-refractor (안굴절계를 이용한 백내장 수술전후의 굴절이상 분석)

  • We investigated refractive errors and corneal power with 3 factors such as M, $J_0$, and $J_{45}$ as power vector to find out the changes of refractive errors of the before and after cataract surgery in 119 adults aged 45~85 years with cataract. After the surgery, the 3 factors were changed as $-0.29{\pm}2.38D$ to $-0.18{\pm}0.69D$ in spherical equivalent power which is the M factor, $-0.34{\pm}0.68D$ to $-0.05{\pm}0.42D$ in the $J_0$ factor, and $0.11{\pm}0.45$ to $0.02{\pm}0.17$ in the $J_{45}$ factor. Before and after the surgery, corneal mean refractive power, $J_0$, and $J_{45}$ were changed from $44.11{\pm}1.61D$ to $44.20{\pm}1.58D$, $0.01{\pm}0.50D$ to $0.08{\pm}0.49D$, and $0.02{\pm}0.29$ to $0.08{\pm}0.49$, respectively. The results showed that $J_0$ was the highest relativeness in correlation of the pre- and post-surgery for refractive errors, mean corneal power was the highest correlation for corneal power factor, and corneal power factor was the higher correlation much more than refractive error factor.

Effect of Polymer Backbone Architecture on the Phase Behavior of Poly(ethylene-co-octene) + cyclo-Hydrocarbon Mixtures (Poly(ethylene-co-octene) /고리형탄화수소 2성분계 혼합물의 상거동에 대한 고분자 사슬구조의 영향)

  • LV transition curves for poly(ethylene-co-15.3 mol% octene) ($PEO_{15}$) and poly(ethylene- co-17.0 mol% octene) ($PEO_{17}$) were measured in cyclo-pentane and cyclo-hexane. Between $40{\sim}150^{\circ}C$, the LV curve for ($PEO_{15}$ + cyclo pentane) located $1.1{\sim}2.7$ bar higher than that for ($PEO_{17}$+ cyclo-pentane). In cyclo-hexane, similar behavior was observed for $PEO_{15}$ and $PEO_{17}$ solution except the pressure difference reduced to $0.9{\sim}l.6$ bar. If the backbone structure of $PEO_{15}$ were identical to that of $PEO_{17}$, the LV line for $PEO_{17}$ would locate at high pressures than that for $PEO_{15}$, since the number average molecular weight of $PEO_{17}$ (Ave. Mn=153,040) is 1.9 times higher 4han that of $PEO_{15}$ (Ave. Mn=82,200). The difference in the octene comonomer content between $PEO_{15}$ and $PEO_{17}$ is only 1.7 mole%, nevertheless this small difference in the backbone structure of the PEO greatly affected the location of the L-V curves in the mixtures comprised of PEO and cyclo-alkane.
