Catalytic Properties of Ti-HMS with High Titanium Loadings

  • Ti-HMS samples in which titanium species exist in various forms of isolated tetrahedral state, finely dispersed $TiO_2$ cluster, and some in extra-framework anatase phase were prepared via a direct synthesis route using dodecylamine (DDS) as a structure directing agent by systematically varying the titanium loadings between 2 and 50 mol% Ti/(Ti+Si) in substrate composition. Physicochemical properties of the materials were evaluated using XRD, SEM/TEM, N2 adsorption, UV-vis and XANES spectroscopies. Catalytic properties of Ti-HMS in cyclohexene and 2,6-di-tert-butyl phenol (2,6-DTBP) oxidation using aqueous $H_2O_2$, and vapor phase photocatalytic degradation of acetaldehyde were evaluated. High $H_2O_2$ selectivity was obtained in cyclohexene oxidation, and cyclohexene conversion was found primarily dependent on the amount of tetrahedrally coordinated Ti sites. For bulky 2,6-DTBP oxidation and photocatalytic oxidation of acetaldehyde, on the other hand, conversions were found dependent on the total amount of Ti sites and maintaining an uniform mesoporous structure in the catalysts was not critical for efficient catalysis.

  • Accurate analysis of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil is an important prerequisite for proper source tracking of contamination. Identification of petroleum compounds is commonly carried out by peak pattern matching in gas chromatography. However, this method has several technical limitations, especially when the soils underwent biological, physical and chemical transformation. For instance, it is very difficult to distinguish jet fuel (JP-8) from kerosene because JP-8 is derivatized from secondary reaction between chemical agents (e.g. anti-oxidants, antifreezer and so on) and kerosene. In this study, an alternative method to separately analyze JP-8 and kerosene in the petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil was proposed. Qualitative analyses were performed for representative phenolic antioxidants [2,6-di-tert-butyl phenol (2,6-DTBP), 2,4-di-tert- butylphenol(2,4-DTBP), 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methyl phenol (2,6-DTBMP)] using a two dimensional gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (2D GC×GC-TOF-MS). This qualitative analysis of antioxidants in soil would be a useful complementary tool for the peak pattern matching method to identify JP-8 contamination in soil.

  • $[M(cyclam)X_2]Y(M=Co^{3+},\;Fe^{3+},\;Mn^{3+}\;:\;X=Cl-^,\;Br^-,\;NCS^-\;:\;Y=Cl^-,\;Br^-,\;NCS^-),\;[Co(trans-14-diene)X_2]Y(X=Cl^-,\;Br^-\;:\;Y= ClO_4^-)$$[Co(trans-14-diene)](ClO_4)_2$ 착이온은 sodium borohydride 하에서 산소를 활성화시킬 수 있었다. 활성화된 산소에 의한 2,4-di-tert-butylphenol 과 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol 산화반응의 생성물질을 각각 2,4-tert-butyl-1,6-benzoquinone(BQ) 와 3,5,3',5'-tetra-tert-butyldiphenoquinone(DPQ) 이었다. BQ와 DPQ 생성반응에서 포화 거대고리 리간드 착물인 $[Co(cyclam)X_2]Y$은 불포화 거대고리착물 $[Co(trans-14-diene)X_2]Y$에 비하여 더 효과적인 촉매제이었다. 촉매로 작용한 Co(III)-거대고리착물과 산소간의 몰 결합비$(O_2/M)$는 1/1이었고, $[M(cyclam)Cl_2]Cl(M=Fe(III)$, Mn(III))에서는 이들 비가 1/2이었다. 반응(10)과 (2)에서 산소분자의 활성종은 Co(III) 거대고리착물이온과 $[M(cyclam)Cl_2]Cl(M=Fe(III)$, Mn(III))에서 각각 superoxolike$({O_2}^-)$와 peroxolike$({O_2}^{2-})$로 가정하였다.

The New Substituent Constants in the Excited States

  • The new substituent constants $({\sigma}^{\ast})$ are calculated from the acidity constants $(pK^{\ast})$ of phenol derivatives in the excited state ($^1L_b$). These substituent constant are applied to the Hammett equations and found good correlation with $pK^{\ast}$ of 2,6-di-tert-butyl phenol, benzamide, nitroaniline, thiophenol, azobenzene, and benzoic acid derivatives. The correlation was much better than that of ground state substituent constants such as ${\sigma},\;{\sigma}^+$, and ${\sigma}^-$. From these results, the new substituent constants $({\sigma}^{\ast})$are proposed to be used for the linear free energy relationship in the $^1({\pi},{\pi}^{\ast})$ excited states of phenyl compounds.

유용성 몰리부덴 화합물의 산화방지기능에 관한 연구 (Anti-Oxidation Property of Organo-Molybdenum Dialkyldithiophosphate)

  • ln this paper, the fuction of molybdenum dialkyl dithiophosphate (MoDTP) as an oxidation inhibitor of mineral oils was investigated and compared with 2,6-Di-tert-Butyl-4-Methylphenol (DBMP). Oxidation tests were conducted using an oxygen absorption apparatus. MoDTP showed anti-oxidation property, and length of induction time prolonged by increasing MoDTP concentration. However the induction time of DBMP was longer than those of MoDTP. The anti-oxidation property of MoDTP was found to be inferior to that of DBMP The capability of hydroperoxide decomposition ability with MoDTP was much greater than that with DBMP. However the rate constant of radical scavenging with MoDTP was much better than that with DBMP. It was found that the performance of MoDTP is exellent with respect to hydroperoxide decomposition but it is susceptible to chemical decomposition. From the fact that formation of phenol was observed when MoDTP was added to hexane solution of cumene hydroperoxide (CHPO), it is indicated that the decomposition of hydroperoxide with MoDTP occurs by means of ionic mechanism.

원료를 달리하여 담금한 탁주 술덧의 향기성분 (Flavor Components in Mash of Takju Prepared by Different Raw Materials)

  • 멥쌀, 찹쌀, 보리쌀, 밀가루로 담금한 발효 16일의 탁주 술덧의 향기성분을 비극성 column을 이용하여 GC와 GC-MS로 분석, 동정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 탁주의 향기성분은 alcohol 7종, ester 15종, acid 10종, aldehyde 1종, benzene 4종, phenol 3종, alkane 8종, ketone 2종 및 기타 5종 등 55종이 검출되었다. 시험구별로는 주모 무첨가 멥쌀주에서 35종, 주모 첨가의 멥쌀주 26종, 찹쌀주 15종, 보리쌀주 23종, 밀가루주 36종이 검출되어 휘발성 향미성분의 종류는 밀가루주에서 가장 많았고 멥쌀주의 경우 주모 첨가구보다 무첨가구가 많이 나타났다. 검출된 향기성분 중 acetix acid ethyl ester, 3-methyl-1-butanol, aceticacid, ethyl benzene, acetic acid 3-methyl butyl ester, 2-phentlethanol, 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methyl phenol, plumbagic acid, 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid dibutyl ester등 9종은 모든 시험구에서 공통으로 존재하였다. 이 외 2,4,6-trimethyl-1,3-benzenediamine은 주모 무첨가의 멥쌀주에서, diethyl sulfode, 4-methoxy ben-zaldehyde, docosane, 2-methyl propyl octadecanoic acid는 주모 첨가의 멥쌀주에서, propionic acid ethyl ester, acetic acid butyl ester, 2-hydroxy-4-methyl pentanoic acid, 2-methyl tridecane은 보리쌀주에서, 3-(methylthio)-1-propanol, hexanoic acid ethyl ester, butanoic acid mono methly ester, tridecanoic acid, ehtyl tetramethyl cyclopentadiene, 1,8-diaza-2,9-dik-etocyclotetradecane은 밀가루주에서만 각각 검출되어 담금 원료에 따라 향기성분이 특이하였다. 향기성분중 acetix acid ethyl ester, 3-methyl-1-butanol, acetix acid, 2-phenylethanol등의 성분이 다른 향기 성분에 비해 면적 비율이 높은 경향을 보였다.
