Design and Fabrication of Isolator for Mobile Repeater (이동통신 중계기용 아이솔레이터의 설계 및 제작)

  • The lumped element isolators with temperature compensation magnetic circuits were designed in this paper. Isolators for mobile repeater at each band of K-PCS, GSM1900, W-CDMA, WiBro were fabricated by using optimum parameters of EM simulation, Form the results of this study, first of all, insertion loss at K-PCS band was below 0.2 dB and return loss was over 25dB. The bandwidth in isolation 23dB was found 30 MHz. Secondly, the figures of both losses at GSM1900 were 0.25dB and 23dB, respectively. The measured bandwidth in isolation 30dB was 60MHz. Thirdly, the losses at W-CDMA band were 0.15dB and 25dB. The bandwidth in isolation 24.8dB was found 60Mhz. Finally, the figures of both losses at Wibro band were 0.25dB and 23dB, respectively. The measured bandwidth in isolation 22.1dB was 100Mhz. In addition, the results of measured IMD were shown from 76.4dBc to 80.1dBc.

Fabrication of Pair-Photonic Crystal Arrays using Multiple-Exposure Nanosphere Lithography (다중노광 나노구 리소그라피를 이용한 쌍-광자결정 어레이 제작)

  • Two dimensional(2D) pair-photonic crystals (pair-PCs) have been fabricated by a multiple-exposure nanosphere lithography (MENSL) method using the self-assembled nanospheres as lens-mask patterns and the collimated laser beam as a multiple-exposing source. The arrays of the 2D pair-PCs exhibited variable lattice structures and shape the control of rotating angle (${\Theta}$), tilting angle (${\gamma}$) and the exposure conditions. In addition, the base period or filling factor of pair-PCs as well as their shapes could be changed by experimental conditions and nanosphere size. A 1.18-${\mu}m$-thick resist was spincoated on Si substrate and the multiple exposure was carried out at change of ${\gamma}$ and ${\Theta}$. Images of prepared 2D pair-PCs were observed by SEM. We believe that the MENSL method is a suitable useful tool to realize the pair-periodic arrays of large area.

Broadband Main and Sub Antenna Connected by the Transmission Line (전송선으로 연결된 광대역 주, 부 안테나)

  • A broadband antenna using a main and a sub antenna for the mobile communication terminal such as mobile phone and ITS terminal is designed. Two antennas are based on the hybrid antenna that is operating both a monopole and a IFA(Inverted F Antenna). It's applied the transmission line to connect both antennas. Sub antenna located in small space of the terminal allows space usability for the terminal design. Antenna for the hexa-frequency band of LTE700, CDMA, GSM, DCS, PCS and WCDMA is designed and implemented on the bare PC board that is same size of the mobile phone. This antenna was measured 3 : 1 VSWR over the whole design band. And average gains and efficiencies were-3.78 ~ -2.62dBi and 41.9 ~ 54.73% for LTE700/CDMA/GSM frequency band, -3.75 ~ -1.84dBi and 42.19 ~ 65.46% for DCS/PCS/WCDMA frequency band.

A Study on Characteristic of Filter Processing Using Kozeny-Carman Model and Measuring of PCS (PCS측정 기술과 Kozeny-Carman 모델을 이용한 여과공정 특성연구)

  • The filtration tests were made in cell with a low concentrated suspension. The suspension with a concentration of $C_{M}$=1.14~2.67$\cdot$$10^{-3}$ g/g consists of paper paint and water. The particles in the suspension have a particle size x<1${\mu}m$. The used depth filters consists of glass fibres, which are coated by polymer. The filtration in depth filters accorded in different mechanism, which were explained by physical models. The model which would be allows to make a promise of the filtration reaction. This filter media allows to get a high filtration time and a good separation rate. The Particle distribution is measured by a photon correlation spectroscopy(PCS). PCS measures particle sizes 0.03 ${\mu}m$${\mu}m$ in the suspension. The filtered suspension has a very low concentration Co{\le}5{\times}10_{-4}$ g/g of solid in sample. The PCS also informs us about the number of the particles in the suspension. The makes it possible to calculate the concentration of the in sample.

  • A GaAs MMIC composed of VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) and mixer for PCS receiver has been developed using 1.mu.m ion implanted GaAs MESFET process. The VCO consists of a colpitts-type oscillator with a dielectric resonator and the circuit configuration of the mixer is a dual-gate type with an asymmetric combination of LO and RF FETs for the improvement of intermodulation characteristics. The common-source self-biasing is used in all circuits including a buffer amplifier and mixer, achieving a single power supply (3V) operation. The total power dissipation is 78mW. The VCO chip shows a phase noise of-99 dBc/Hz at 100KHz offset. The combined VCO/mixer chip shows a flat conversion gain of 2dB, the frequency-tuning factor of 80MHz/volts in the varacter bias ranging from 0.5V to 0.5V , and output IP3 of dBm at varactor bias of 0V. The fabricated chip size is 2.5mm X 1.4mm.

  • In this paper,a reconfigurable multi-band mobile antenna with switching line for LTE band 13, GSM, K-PCS, WCDMA band. The proposed antenna is planar strip line design and composed of stub shorted to the ground plane and two switching line for proposed band operation. To obtain the optimized parameters, we used the simulator, Using the obtained parameters is fabricated. The numerical and experiment results demonstrated that the proposed antenna satisfied the -6 dB impedance bandwidth requirement while simultaneously covering when the state of sw1 and sw2 on for LTE band 13, the state of sw1 off and sw2 on for GSM, K-PCS, the state of sw1 off and sw2 off for WCDMA. Respectively and characteristics of gain and radiation patterns are determined for a reconfigurable multi-band mobile terminal.

  • A linear power amplifier is particularly emphasized on the CDMA system using a linear modulation scheme, because IMD which cause adjacent channel interference and co channel Interference is mostly generated in a nonlinear power amplifier. In this paper, a new type of linearization technique proposed. It is presented that balanced MESFET predistortion linearizer added. Experimental result are present for Korea PCS frequency band. The implemented linearizer is applied to a 30dBm class. A power amplifier for simulation performance. Two-tone signals at 1850 MHz and 1851.23 MHz are injected into the main power amplifier. The main power amplifier with a 12.1dB gain and a P1dB of 30 dBm(two-tone) was utlized. The reduction of IMD is around 22dB.

System Analysis for Receiving Performance Improvement of Mobile Station in PCS (개인휴대통신에서 이동국의 수신성능개선을 위한 시스템 분석)

  • In this paper, we examined noise figure and the 3rd order intercept point in sensitivity single tone desensitization, and response attenuation by intermodulation spurious of receiver and also analyzed them through simulation based on J-STD-0.18, which is the minimum specification of PCS mobile station. The result of simulation was as follows ; In sensitivity specification, the total noise figure was 5.99dB and the 3rd order intercept point was -33.979dB. Ins ingle tone desensitization and intermodulation spurious response attenuation specification, the total noise figure was 6.375dB and the 3rd order intercept point was -26.99dBm. When there is an interference tone, the nosie figure and the 3rd order intercept point have been increasedly 0.367dB respectively, compared wit that of no interference tone. Because the amount of increase in the 3rd order intercept point was highly raised more than that of noise figure, mixer, closely related to interference tone should be specified in high 3rd order intercept point. At a frequency spacing of 1.25MHz and 2.05MHz from center frequency in IF SAW filter, attenuation should be more than 45dB.

Rectangular Ring Open-Ended Monopole Antenna for Mobile Dual-Band Operations

  • This paper presents a novel design for a simple rectangular ring with an open-ended monopole antenna that is well suited to DCS/PCS/UMTS/WLAN applications for dual-band operations. A microstrip-fed rectangular monopole antenna is first designed and then modified to introduce the rectangular ring with an open-ended antenna and a rectangular slit in the ground plane. Prototypes of the proposed antenna were fabricated and tested. The antenna, resonating at 1,405 MHz and 4,840 MHz, has a -10 dB impedance bandwidth of about 1,695 and 1,530 MHz (1,220~2,815 and 4,495~6,025 MHz), or about 79.06 % and 29.09 %. The observed 2D radiation patterns and 3D gain performance of the antenna in the operation bands are discussed.

Optical Properties of TeOx(2x One-dimensional Photonic Crystals (TeOx(22 1차원 광자결정의 광학 특성평가)

  • One-dimensional (1D) photonic crystals (PCs) were prepared by $TeO_x(2&lt;x&lt;3)/SiO_2$ with the difference refractive index, and fabricated by sputtering technique from a $TeO_2$ and $SiO_2$ target. The $TeO_x$(2$Ar:O_2=40:10$). A 10-pair $TeO_x(2&lt;x&lt;3)/SiO_2$ 1D PCs were fabricated with the structure parameters of filling factor=0.5185, and period=410 nm. The properties of 1D PCs with and without a defect layer were evaluated by UV-VIS-NIR. A normal mode 1D PC have a photonic band gap (PBG) in the near infrared (NIR) region from 1,203 to 1,421 nm. In the case of 1D PC containing a defect layer, a defect level appears at 1,291 nm. The measured transmittance (T) spectra are nearly corresponding to calculated results. After He-Cd laser exposure, the defect level is shifted from 1,291 nm to 1,304 nm.
