New Flavonol Glycosides from Leaves of Symplocarpus renifolius

  • A study was carried out to evaluate flavonol glycosides in leaves of Symplocarpus renifolius (Araceae). From the water fraction of the MeOH extract, three new flavonol glycosides were isolated along with three known compounds, Kaempferol-3-O-$\beta$-glucopyranosyl-($1{\rightarrow}2$)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-7-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside, quercetin-3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosy-1-($1{\rightarrow}2$)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside, and caffeic acid. The structures of the new flavonol glycosides were elucidated by chemical and spectral analyses a quercetin-3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-($1{\rightarrow}2$)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-7-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside, isorhamnetin-3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 2)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-7-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosdie, and quercetin-3-O$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-($1{\rightarrow}2$)-$\beta$-D-glycopyranosyl-7-O-($6^{IIII}$-trans-caffeoyl)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside.

  • This study examines how the average presbyopic additions and eye refraction state of old ages in city may be different to that island. There were 677 of the old who were 50 or over 90 in the sample. The visual acuity test was done by objective and subjective methods and used for near-chart program. The far-point refraction state and power of the additions lens results were as follows ; 1. Of far-point refraction state in city peoples; male: emmetropia 10%, myopia 17%, hyperopia 19%, mixed astigmatism 38%, etc. 16% female : emmetropia 20%, myopia 20%, hyperopia 20%, mixed astigmatism 27%, etc. 13% 2. Of far-point refraction state in island villages ; male : emmetropia 13%, myopia 17%, hyperopia 22%, mixed astigmatism 40%, etc. 8% female : emmetropia 7%, myopia 13%, hyperopia 26%, mixed astigmatism 44%, etc. 10% 3. Average presbyopic additions states has been presented no discrimination ; male: 50 to 60 : +1.25 or +1.50D, 61 to 65 : +1.75 or + 2.00D, 66 to 70 : +2.25 or +2.50D 71 to 75 : +2.75 or +3.00D, 76 to 80 : +3.25 or +3.50D, over81 : +3.75D female : 50 to 60 : +1.25 or + 1.50D, 61 to 65 : +1.75 or + 2.00D, 66 to 70 : +2.25 or +2.50D 71 to 75 : +2.25 or + 2.50D, 76 to 80 : +2.75 or +3.00D, over81 : +2.75 or +3.00D 4. Under the condition of wearing lens, the average working time was 1 or 2 hour but some people used over 5 hours. 5. Generally, it has been investigated the old ages peoples has ocular diseases and cataract was the most common.

Breed Effects of Terminal Sires on Carcass Traits and Meat Quality in Commercial Pig Industry (돼지의 웅돈계열에 따른 도체형질 및 육질 변화에 관한 연구)

  • In the present study, to determine the effects of terminal sire strains, carcass characteristics, yields of retail cut, and meat quality of 425 pigs were examined. Terminal sires were divided into five strains (D1, D2, B1, B2, and BD) based on the countries of origin and breeds. The strains D1 and D2 showed high grade 1+ appearance ratios and strains B1, B2, and D1 showed high appearance ratios of carcass yield grade A. As for the real retail cut yields of meat, strain D1 showed large real retail cut yields of meat in shoulder, rib, fore leg, loin, belly, tenderloin and hind leg. Moisture contents were significantly higher in strain B1, and protein and fat contents were significantly higher for strain D1 than in the other strains (p<0.05). Shear force values were significantly higher for strain B1 than in the other strains (p<0.05). For meat color properties, the lightness were significantly higher in strains D1, D2, and BD, and the yellowness were significantly higher in strains D1, D2, and BD relative to the other strains (p<0.05). In sensory evaluation, drip of strains D1 and D2 were significantly lower while marbling and overall acceptability were significantly higher in the other four strains (p<0.05). Therefore, when considering the results of the present study comprehensively, using strains D1 and D2 that showed high grade 1+ appearance ratios, large real retail cut yields of belly, significantly higher lightness and sensory evaluation will be helpful to the incomes of producers and farm households.

  • The author examined the relationship of two markers, D5S39(p105-153Ra), D5S76(p105-599Ha) of chromosome 5 and $D_2$, $D_3$ receptor genes in a Korean schizophrenic pedigree using polymerase chain reaction(PCR). The results were as follows : 1) On D5S39 locus, 5 different alleles(224/226 bp : 4 cases, 218/226 bp : 3 cases, 222/226 bp : 3 cases, 218/230 bp : 1 case, 222/224 bp : 1 case) were produced. 2) On D5S76 locus, 5 different alleles(102/112 bp : 4 cases, 94/112 bp : 3 cases, 108/112 bp 3 cases, 94/94 bp : 1 case, 102/108 bp 1 case) were produced. 3) On $D_2$ receptor gene, 3 different alleles($A_1A_2$ : 8 cases, $A_1A_1$ : 2 cases, $A_2A_2$ : cases) were produced. 4) On $D_3$ receptor gene, 2 different alleles(1/2 : 7 cases, 1/1 : 5 cases) were produced. The author had not find any specific alleles on all four loci in all pedigree nor any specific alleles in the schizophrenic patients. Though the author has not found absolute relationship between the four loci and the onset of schizophrenia, there still remains the possibilities if the more detailed and elaborated pedigree studies are done.

High Power Cavity Type Tunable Filter Using Switch for 1.5 GHz Band (Switch를 이용한 1.5 GHz 대역 고출력 Cavity 기반 Tunable Filter)

  • In this paper, the tunable filter based on high power cavity using mechanical switch for 1.5 GHz band is presented. The LPF is inserted to eliminate the spurious wave, coupler is embeded to extract the output power, and then the tunable filter system is configured using mechanical switch. The LPF obtains attenuation over 40 dB between 4 GHz and 12.75 GHz, Coupler is satisfied with coupling value 40 dB and coupling isolation over 55 dB. The tunable filter system using mechanical switch obtains insertion loss 0.88 dB at bypass mode between 1,495.9 MHz and 1,510. 9 MHz, 3.29 dB at fil mode between 1,495.9 MHz and 1,500.9 MHz. It is also satisfied with output power of 132 W at the center frequency 1,498.4 MHz, and switching time below 10 ms.

Effects of the Molting-Hormone Mimetid Insecticide Tebufenozide: on Chironomus riparius Larvae (탈피교란물질인 Tebufenozide가 Chironomus riparius (Diptera: Chironomidae)에 끼친 영향)

  • We investigated the effects of molting-hormone insecticide tebufenozide on D7 (the day of hatching from egg) larvae of the midge Chironomus riparius in growth developments. D7 instar larvae were exposed test concentrations were chosen control, 10${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$, 30${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$, 60${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ and 100${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ of tebufenozide. In general, dead larvae showed 16% on the next day after insecticide treatments (D12), and observed 44% from D12 to D16 in this exposed days. Dead larvae of C. riparius was abruptly increased on D12 and also continuously increased along the days in 10${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ treatments. The converged day was from D12 to D16 at move 30${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ treatments in this study. Therefore, dead larvae obviously increased along these concentrations of tebufenozide. In control condition,78% of the test individuals have grown the pupae. But the larvae have developed the pupa stage from 5% to 17% of the test organism in 10${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ and 30${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ treatments. And 75% of the test individuals was arrived the adult through the molting process in control condition. While the other condition was rarely observed the adult. Usually, the emerged period of the test individuals was gathered the D26-D29 in control. The dead pupa showed from D19 to D20 in 30${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ treatments, D32 in control and D33 in 10${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ treatments. The observed periods of dead pupa were D32-D34 in control and D33-D37 in 10${\mu}g \;L^{-1}$ treatments. Consequently, due to molting hormone disruption, development of midge was postponed relatively low concentration such as 10 treatments of tebufenozide.

  • The mode of transglycosylation reaction observed during the action of low-molecular-weigh $\beta$-D-glucosidase ($\beta$-D-glucoside glucohydrolase, EC3.2.1.21) purified from Trichoderma koningii ATCC 26113 was investigated using $^{1}H$-NMR spectroscopy. The enzyme was purified by the series of procedures including ammonium sulfate precipitation, and fractionations by column chromatographies on Bio-Gel P-150, DEAE-Sephadex A-50, and SP-Sephadex C-50. The final purification was performed by the band eluation after preparative polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The enzyme showed its molecular size of 78,000 through the analysis of sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and its isoelectric point of 5.80 through the analysis of analytical isoelectric focusing. The H-1 proton resonances were analyzed. After the reaction of the enzyme with cellobiose, the reaction products were separated by high performance liquid chromatography using refractive index detector. H-1 resonances of the products were consisted with those of gentiobiose [$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl--(1,6)-D-glucopyranose], and cellotriose [$\beta$-D glucopyranosyl-(1,4)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl]-(1,4)-D-glucopyranose] with minor resonances of sophorose [$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-(1,2)-D-glucopyranose], respectively.

  • 컴퓨터 그래픽스 기술과 H/W의 발달로 3D GIS에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 최근 3D GIS에 대한 활발한 연구 중 3D 가상도시의 구축이 중요한 연구로 떠오르고 있다. 3D 가상도시는 국방, 교통, 통신, 지적, 지하시설물, 관광, 도시계획, 도시모델링 등에 다양하게 활용될 수 있다. 현재 우리나라에서 3D 가상도시의 구축은 미약하지만 앞으로 그 수요는 더욱 더 많아질 것이다. 3D 가상도시의 구축에는 GIS, 컴퓨터 그래픽스, Database, 자료구조, 3D 모델링 등의 다양한 기술이 필요하다. 3D 가상도시의 구축의 방법은 크게 1/1,000수치지도+실제측량, 1/1,000수치지도+입체 인공위성 영상+수치사진측량, 1/1,000수치지도+항공사진측량 도화원도, 1/1,000수치지도+항공레이저스캐닝의 방법을 적용해 볼 수 있다. 현재 우리나라 여건상 첫 번째 방법이 가장 일반적으로 사용이 되나 도화원도에 대한 규제를 완화하여 세 번째 방법을 적용하는 것이 가장 효과적일 것이다. 3D 가상도시는 인터넷 기술과 접목이 되어 3D Web GIS의 형태로 앞으로의 GIS 주류를 이룰 것이다. 그러나 국내에서 3D 가상도시의 구축에 관한 연구는 미약한 수준이다. 3D 자료취득, 자료처리, 모델링 부문에 대한 연구가 시급하다.
