A Study on Design of a Mass-Spring System for Force-Balance Servo Accelerometer (힘평형 서보 가속도계의 질량지지 장치 설계연구)

  • 진동가속도를 감지하는 힘평형 서보 가속도계의 성능특성을 결정하는 질량지지 장치를 4개의 팔로 구성된 형태로 설계하고 응답특성을 조사하였다. 스프링의 길이, 폭, 두께에 따른 질량지지 장치의 응답특성을 유한요소법을 이용하여 계산하고, 이를 바탕으로 힘평형 서보 가속도계의 감도, 사용주파수 범위 및 동적 범위를 예측하였다. 그리고 레이저 간섭계를 이용하여 힘평형 서보 가속도계의 각각의 진동 주파수 및 가속도의 크기에 따른 간섭무의 수의 변화와 이때의 응답전압간을 이용하여 가속도계의 응답특성을 측정하였으며, 수치해석을 통해 얻은 결과와 비교 분석하였다.

  • 압력센서란 두 물체 간의 상호 작용하는 힘의 크기를 나타내는 물리적 양을 측정하는 디바이스로서 힘의 전달 크기, 힘의 방향 등을 측정하는 데 매우 광범위하게 사용되고 있는 센서이다. 사용하는 분야는 의료, 자동차, 항공, 공업계측, 가전, 환경제어분야 등의 전반적 산업제품과 산업시설에 응용되고 있으며, 측정원리는 힘의 변화에 따른 재료의 변위, 변형, 진동수, 변화, 열전도율 변화 등을 이용하는 것으로 종전의 기계식 감지방법에서 현재는 센서장치의 소형화를 위하여 반도체소자 제작기술과 Micro Electro Mechanical System(MEMS)기술을 이용하는 초소형, 저전력형 센서개발로 계속 발전하고 있다. 본고에서 멤스(MEMS) 압력센서의 최근 제품 기술 개발과 시장 및 산업동향을 알아보고 향후 더욱더 확장될 압력센서제품 기술의 기초 정보를 제공하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, a 2D X-Y table, two axes of which are symmetrical, and a force sensing device are constructed, which comprise a 2D haptic interfacing apparatus. Two DC motors are used for actuating the two axes of the table and two precision encoders for sensing the position of each axis. Four PZTs are used for sensing the direction and the magnitude of the 2D force applied to the force sensing device by the user. The performance of the 2D haptic interface device is tested by 2D virtual object recognition experiments.

대규모 유도조종 시스템

  • 비행체가 한 지점에서 다른 지점으로 이동하기 위하여는 적절한 유도 조종장치가 필요하게 된다. 좀 더 넓은 의미에서 생각하며, 일반적으로 이러한 system은 비행체의 동적 현상, 즉 가속도, 속도, 위치 및 각속도 등을 측정하는 다양한 감지기들과 신호처리장치, 그리고 힘과 moment를 발생시키는 구동장치로 이루어진다. 또 유도조종 system의 설계과정에서는 비행환경에 따라 신호(상태변수)의 양이 많고, 각 subsystem들은 상당히 고차에다 비선형적이다. 따라서 유도조종 system은 하나의 대규모 system으로 생각될 수 있다. 본문의 구성은, 2장에서 주로 비행체의 공력학적인 면을 다루고, 3장은 유도장치로서 각 유도방식에 따른 간략한 설명과 장단점을 비교하였다. 4장은 조종장치로서 조종방식과 비행체제에 필요한 계기 및 구동장치에 관하여 설명하였고, 5장은 설계 및 방법과 시험에 관하여 논하였으며, 끝으로 6장에서는 간략한 결론을 내렸다.

  • 가속도 센서는 물체의 움직임, 속도의 변화, 충격, 진동 등의 동적힘을 순시적으로 감지하여 유용한 정보로 변환시키는 장치이다. 본 논문에서는 실리콘 기계 구조물과 광섬유형 Fabry - Perot 센서(FFPI)를 사용하여 광섬유 간섭계형 가속도 센서를 제작하였으며 실리콘 구조물의 구조를 변경하여 용도에 적합한 다양한 센서를 제작할 수 있음을 보였다. 광 간섭계는 그 구조에 따라 Fabry - Perot$^{[2]}$ , Mach-Zender$^{[3]}$ , Michelson$^{[4]}$ , Sagnac$^{[5]}$ 등으로 구분되면 이러한 간섭계 중에서 Fabry - Perot 간섭계는 측정영역이 두 반사막의 거리로 정확하게 정의되며 반사막의 거리를 조절하여 좁은 영역에서의 측정이 가능하고 고감도를 갖는다.   • Coriolis mass flowmeter(CMF), which can measure the mass flow directly, is getting rapid attention for the industrial and custody transfer purpose. In order to study the characteristics and the applicability of CMF, it is tested with the national flow standard system. Two types of sensing tube, U-type and straight type, are employed in the test. Water, spindle oil and viscosity Standard Reference Material whose viscosities are 1, 20 and, 67 $\textrm{mm}^2$/s, respectively, are studied. It is shown that the linearity of CMF is getting deteriorated as the fluid viscosity increases, which is due to the zero drift and the relaxation time of the fluid. To test its applicability in the case of high pressured gas, it is calibrated using compressed air, It shows 1∼l.6 % deviations compared to the calibration results using water. It concludes that the fluid velocity in CMF should be lower than the sonic velocity. In addition, the effects of the vibration from the pipeline and pump on CMF as well as the long term stability are studied.

  • It is known that as many as 1 in 91 children are diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder, and the incidence rate of the autistic spectrum disorder is much higher than that of cancer in Korea. It is necessary to develop a novel technology to sense their emotional status and give proper psychological diagnosis and therapy, since the children with autistic spectrum disorder usually do not express their own emotional status. This article presents the state-of-the-arts on the affective computing technologies that include recognition of emotional status through bio-sensing and virtual affective agent modeling, and then proposes a novel system architecture for diagnosis and therapy of autistic spectrum disorder. The diagnosis and therapy system of autistic spectrum disorder is composed of bio-sensing module, virtual environment module with affective agents, and haptic interface module. The architecture proposed in this paper will enhance the objectivity to diagnose autism spectrum disorders, and enable continuous treatment in daily life.

Implementation of a Sensor to Detect the Foot-pushing Force for an Agricultural Transport-convenience Vehicle (농업용 이동편의장치를 위한 발로 미는 힘을 감지하는 센서 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose a sensor with a C-shaped load cell to detect force change when a person sitting on the chair in an electrical transport-convenience vehicle is pushing ground by both heels. The load cell built in the vehicle is mechanically deformed by the vertical force owing to the human weight and the horizontal force by ground-pushing feet. The deformation rate of the load cell and its distribution are simulated using finite element analysis. In the simulation, the applied loads are preset in the range of 10 kg - 100 kg with a step size of 10 kg, and the ground-pushing force by feet is increased to 40 N with a step size of 5 N with respect to each applied load level. The resistance change of the load cell was observed to be linear in simulation as well as in measurement. the maximum difference between simulation and measurement was 0.89 % when the strain gauge constant was 2.243. The constant has a large influence on the difference. The proposed sensor was fabricated by connecting an instrument amplifier and a microcontroller to a load cell and used to detect the force by ground-pushing feet. To detect foot driving, the reference signal was set to 130% of the load, and the duration of the sensor output signal exceeding the reference signal was set to 0.6 s. In a test of a vehicle built with the proposed sensor, the footpushing force by the worker could be successfully detected even when the worker was working.

  • With the rapid advance of the semiconductor and Information and communication technologies, remote environment monitoring technology, which can detect and analyze surrounding environmental conditions with various types of sensors and wireless communication technologies, is also drawing attention. However, since the conventional remote environmental monitoring systems require external power supplies, it causes time and space limitations on comfortable usage. In this study, we proposed the concept of the self-powered remote environmental monitoring system by supplying the power with the levitation-electromagnetic generator (L-EMG), which is rationally designed to effectively harvest biomechanical energy in consideration of the mechanical characteristics of biomechanical energy. In this regard, the proposed L-EMG is designed to effectively respond to the external vibration with the movable center magnet considering the mechanical characteristics of the biomechanical energy, such as relatively low-frequency and high amplitude of vibration. Hence the L-EMG based on the fragile force equilibrium can generate high-quality electrical energy to supply power. Additionally, the environmental detective sensor and wireless transmission module are composed of the micro control unit (MCU) to minimize the required power for electronic device operation by applying the sleep mode, resulting in the extension of operation time. Finally, in order to maximize user convenience, a mobile phone application was built to enable easy monitoring of the surrounding environment. Thus, the proposed concept not only verifies the possibility of establishing the self-powered remote environmental monitoring system using biomechanical energy but further suggests a design guideline.

A LiDAR-based Visual Sensor System for Automatic Mooring of a Ship (선박 자동계류를 위한 LiDAR기반 시각센서 시스템 개발)

  • This paper discusses about the development of a visual sensor that can be installed in an automatic mooring device to detect the berthing condition of a vessel. Despite controlling the ship's speed and confirming its location to prevent accidents while berthing a vessel, ship collision occurs at the pier every year, causing great economic and environmental damage. Therefore, it is important to develop a visual system that can quickly obtain the information on the speed and location of the vessel to ensure safety of the berthing vessel. In this study, a visual sensor was developed to observe a ship through an image while berthing, and to properly check the ship's status according to the surrounding environment. To obtain the adequacy of the visual sensor to be developed, the sensor characteristics were analyzed in terms of information provided from the existing sensors, that is, detection range, real-timeness, accuracy, and precision. Based on these analysis data, we developed a 3D visual module that can acquire information on objects in real time by conducting conceptual designs of LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) type 3D visual system, driving mechanism, and position and force controller for motion tilting system. Finally, performance evaluation of the control system and scan speed test were executed, and the effectiveness of the developed system was confirmed through experiments.
