영건의궤로 살펴본 벽(壁)의 명칭에 관한 고찰 - 종묘 정전·영녕전의 갑벽(甲壁)을 중심으로 - (A study on the name of the walls in YeonggeonUigwe Based on the gap wall of the Main Hall and Yeongnyeongjeon Hall of Jongmyo Shrine in the Joseon Dynasty)

  • 본 연구는 조선시대 건축 공사 기록인 영건의궤에서 조선 후기 건물에 구성되었던 벽의 명칭과 유형을 살펴보고, 종묘 정전과 영녕전에 사용된 벽에 대해 고찰하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 벽의 명칭은 성격에 따라 방향·위치, 형상·기능, 재료, 복합 등 네 가지 유형으로 구분할 수 있으며 벽 앞에 성격을 의미하는 단어가 합쳐진 합성어로 사용되었다. 둘째, 벽의 유형 중 재료와 관련된 일부 벽은 사용 시기에 차이가 있음이 확인되었다. 18세기 이후 토벽의 사용은 줄고 목벽(판벽), 지벽의 사용이 많은 것으로 확인된다. 셋째, 종묘 정전과 영녕전의 벽은 흙벽과 화방벽이 사용되었으며, 고주열 중인방 상부는 흙벽으로, 외부는 화방벽으로 구성되었다. 화방벽은 종묘 정전의 경우 기둥까지를 포함한 일체화된 모습으로 설치된 반면, 영녕전의 경우는 기둥과 기둥 사이에만 설치되었다. 넷째, 갑벽은 의궤 내 사용된 용례들과 현재 건물의 비교를 통해 '종묘 내 건축물 구성 시 사용된 중인방 상부에 설치한 벽'으로 정의할 수 있다. 본 연구는 익숙한 까닭에 연구가 미비했던 벽을 중심으로 조선 후기에 사용되었던 벽의 명칭들과 용례를 기록과 실제 건물의 비교를 통해 살펴보고 갑벽의 정의를 밝히기 위해 시도하였다는 점에 의의를 둘 수 있다.

흙을 이용한 트롬월의 열성능 시뮬레이션 평가 (Thermal Performance Evaluation of Earth-Applied Trombe Wall by Simulation)

  • Energy and environmental concerns accelerate the interest in passive solar heating in buildings, which utilizes solar energy through natural heat transfer. Moreover concerns about environmentally friendly materials were also increased. This study aims to evaluate the thermal performance of a Trombe wall built with earth. The thermal performance of the Trombe walls was analysed with results from computer simulations with TRNSYS 15. The thermal performance of the three types of Trombe wall was compared.: concrete. rammed earth. adobe. It was found that Trombe wall with the thermal storage wall of earth performed better than that of concrete. Rammed earth and adobe Trombe walls gained 4.7% and 12.8% more solar energy. respectively. than the concrete Trombe wall. In earth-applied Trombe walls. the energy gain by natural convection released from the airspace was about 75% of the total solar gains. that took 15% more than concrete Trombe wall. Rammed earth and adobe Trombe walls seem to be more suitable for buildings that use mostly in daytime. such as school, office and so on.

조선시대 관영건축의 벽체에 사용된 중깃(中衿)과 외엮기 기법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Method of Oeyeokki and Joongkit in Earth Wall of Government Constructions in the period of Chosun Dynasty)

  • The traditional earth wall structure consists of a Joongkit(a small reinforcing post inside a wall) and a Oe(a miscellaneous tree, rendered laths) based on the space between the columns and applying the soil. The members who act as the base layer before applying soil used joongkit, sakmok, and oemok, which are known to correspond to the current joongkit, gasisae, and lath strips. This study was designed to understand the following through an analysis of the ancient texts, such as uigwe. Through a study on the usage and specifications of joongkit recorded on the uigwe, I wanted to reveal that joongkit is a material that has different specifications, functions, and installation techniques from current joongkit. The purpose of this study was to present the differences and technical features of the components of use for two types of oeyeokki technique of traditional wall. In addition, the items to be considered at the actual cultural heritage repair site were reviewed in the restoration of the earth wall weaving technique.

흙벽 마감을 위한 천연 마감재 성능 비교 연구 (Comparing Performances of Natural Finishing Material for Finish on Earth Wall)

  • As reviewed of developments of Korean earth architecture, earth-made buildings have been dwindled gradually since "the new community movement" and earth have been recognized as materials which are not so good to human health and in result, earth-related techniques have been also forgotten. However, recently the earth architecture has been more attracting back many attentions thanks to the people who are interested in health and wellbeing and the earth related techniques or skills got keenly required. The present study has investigated and reproduced earth finishing materials which are based on natural materials as basic stuffs to use them as the finishing materials of the modern earth architecture. For the test, the finishing materials have been divided roughly into sorts of pastes and oils. In case of applying finishing materials onto earth surfaces, the moisture permeability test was conducted to measure a water-absorbing speed, and at the case of using finishing materials for interior works moisture adsorption/desorption test was performed to verify the indoor humidity regulation ability, and further a test to check whether to be stained when contacted with the finishing materials, was conducted. If there is not any stain it might be recognized to be high quality of moisture adsorption/desorption and so seaweed pastes or starches might be used for paste finishing materials and for natural oils, beans are desirable in practical ways. As low-quantity of moisture adsorption materials, linseed oil is most desirable and also beaned water over75% are thought to be useful.

미국 흙건축 법규의 법제화 유형 및 규제내용 분석 (A Study on the Legislation Types and Prescriptions of American Earth Building Codes)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the legislation types and prescriptions of American earth building codes. The process of this study is as follows: (1) To understand the legislation background of American earth building codes, this study investigated the history and present state of earth building techniques which is used in USA. (2) To understand the legislation method and procedure of American earth building codes, this study investigated the legislation system of American building codes and the process of model building codes development and adoption. (3) To provide basic data for the legislation of Korean earth building codes or guidelines, this study analyzed American earth building codes about adobe, compressed earth block and rammed earth. The result of this study is as follows: (1) To meet need of a single coordinated set of national model building codes in the United States, the nation's three model code groups decided to form the International Code Council and the first edition of the International Building Code was published in 1997. In the International Building Code there are prescriptions on adobe construction. (2) There are three legislation types of earth building codes in USA. First is to use prescriptions of International Building Code on adobe construction. Second is that State governments establish and issue a separate document under its own title. The last is that local jurisdictions adopt International Building Code with amendments or additional rules. (3) On the base of analysis of American earth building codes, this study proposed the legislation process and direction of Korean earth building codes and guidelines.

중앙아세아벽화(中央亞細亞壁畵) 보존처리(保存處理)(II) - 壁畵(벽화)의 채색(彩色) 안료(顔料) 및 벽체(壁體) 조성(造成)에 사용(使用)된 초재류(草材類) 조사(調査) - (The Conservation Treatment of the Central Asian Mural Painting(II) -An Investigation on the Pigments for the Mural Painting and of the Plants Used for Making the Original Wall -)

  • 용산 새 박물관에 전시될 중앙아시아 벽화의 보존처리를 위해 이들 벽화의 채색 안료 성분 분석과 벽체에 포함된 지푸라기의 식물종 식별을 위한 조사를 실시하였다. 또한 1916년 우리 박물관에 반입되기 이전에 일본에서 시행된 보존처리 재료 및 방법을 검토하기 위하여 나무 보호틀의 목재수종 및 종이의 재질을 분석하였다. 조사결과 본4075, 4078의 검은색 안료는 carbon(C), 바탕의 흰색은 gypsum[Ca(SO)4(H2O)2], 적색 계통은 lead oxide(Pb3O4, PbO)와 hematite(Fe2O3), 녹색은 Cu, As, O 화합물 등을 채색 안료로 사용하였다. 또한 벽체를 조성할 때 흙벽이 갈라지는 것을 방지하기 위해 섞어 넣은 지푸라기는 밀짚 또는 귀리짚 종류인 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 현재 벽화를 둘러싸고 있는 나무 보호틀은 버드나무속, 사시나무속, 삼나무, 그리고 소나무 중 적송류로 만들어진 것으로 밝혀졌으며 벽화(본4054, 4097)의 보호틀 내부에서 발견된 종이는 뽕나무 껍질로 만든 것으로 조사되었다.
