Analysis of Shear Flow Dispersion Using Sequential Mixing Model (순차혼합모형에 의한 전단류 분산 해석)

  • 본 연구에서는 1차원 이송-분산 과정을 연구하고 전단류 흐름 및 분산거동에 있어 Taylor 이론의 핵심이라 할 수 있는 '종방향 이송과 횡방향 확산의 균형'을 기본 개념으로 하여, 이송과 확산을 분리하여 이 두 과정이 순차적으로 발생한다는 가정에 의거한 순차혼합모형을 제시하였다. 본 모형에서는 가상의 하천을 여러 개의 행과 종방향 거리를 길이가 일정한 구획으로 나누어 연속적인 분산과정을 이산적인 형태로 나타낼 수 있게 하고, 횡방향 유속분포에 따라 각 행에 각기 다른 유속을 할당한다. 오염물질은 하폭방향 선오염원으로 원점에 순간주입되며, 주어진 혼합시간 $t_m$ 동안 각 행의 오염물질들이 각자에 할당된 유속을 따라 진행하고 진행이 끝난 후 횡방향 확산이 순간적으로 이루어진다. 횡방향 확산은 횡방향으로 완전하게 일어남을 가정하여, 횡방향 확산이 끝나면 각 열에서의 농도 평균값이 할당된다. 이러한 혼합시간 $t_m$ 동안의 순차적인 이송-확산 과정이 반복되면서 오염물질의 분산이 일어나며, 농도 분포 그래프를 그릴 수 있게 된다. 순차혼합모형을 가상의 직선하천에 적용하여 종분산계수를 유도하였는데, 본 연구에서 유도된 종분산계순식은 Fischer.가 제안한 식과 유사한 형태로 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 본 모형에서 계산된 농도분포 곡선을 해석해와 비교한 결과,두 곡선이 적절히 일치함을 확인할 수 있었으며 해석해와의 비교를 통해 종분산계수 K가 혼합시간 $t_m$과 선형관계임을 확인할 수 있었다. 수심대하폭비에 따라 각기 다른 유속분포에 적용하여 종분산계수 K가 유속편차강도의 제곱에 비례관계에 있음이 밝힐 수 있었다. 수압은 $4.69kg/cm^2$으로 나타났다. 밸브 개폐도가 $100\%$일 때가 밸브를 $60\%$$80\%$ 개폐시켰을 때보다 $0.3kg/cm^2,\;0.29kg/cm^2$ 낮게 나타나 밸브를 전체 개방 했을 때 관로내의 수압이 상수설계기준에 적합한 수압을 유지함을 알 수 있다. 상수관로 설계 기준에서는 관로내 수압을 $1.5\~4.0kg/cm^2$으로 나타내고 있는데 $6kg/cm^2$보다 과수압을 나타내는 경우가 $100\%$로 밸브를 개방하였을 때보다 $60\%,\;80\%$ 개방하였을 때가 더 빈번히 발생하고 있으므로 대상지역의 밸브 개폐는 $100\%$ 개방하는 것이 선계기준에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 밸브 개폐에 따른 수압 변화를 모의한 결과 밸브 개폐도를 적절히 유지하여 필요수량의 확보 및 누수방지대책에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.8R(mm)(r^2=0.84)$로 지수적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 유거수량은 토성별로 양토를 1.0으로 기준할 때 사양토가 0.86으로 가장 작았고, 식양토 1.09, 식토 1.15로 평가되어 침투수에 비해 토성별 차이가 크게 나타났다. 이는 토성이 세립질일 수록 유거수의 저항이 작기 때문으로 생각된다. 경사에 따라서는 경사도가 증가할수록 증가하였으며 $10\% 경사일 때를 기준으로 $Ro(mm)=Ro_{10}{\times}0.797{\times}e^{-0.021s(\%)}$

  • 홍수기 유량측정에 있어서 가장 큰 어려움이었던 유속측정의 정확성을 확보하고 실무자의 안전성을 보장하기 위한 기본 취지에서 1993년 시작된 "대하천 유량 자동측정 설비개발"이라는 연구 주제하에 비접촉식 유속측정 기법에 대한 연구를 수년간 연구개발을 거듭한 결과물인 전자파표면유속계를 1999년도에 상품화하여 현재 국내에서 홍수유속측정 설비로 이용되어지고 있다. 현장에서 유량측정업무에 종사하는 실무자들은 홍수유량측정에 비하여 훨씬 간편함을 몸소 느끼게 되었고, 상품화보급이 시작된지 수년이 지난 상태에서는 더욱 성능이 개선된 전자파표면유속계가 개발되기를 기대하였다. 무엇보다도 홍수기에 유량측정시 기존의 유속측정 방법과 같은 방식으로 각 측선마다 전자파표면유속계를 설치해야하는 번거로움을 피력하였다. 기존의 전자파표면유속계는 하천을 가로지르는 교량위에서 흐름방향에 나란히 측정하는 조건을 고려하였기 때문에 이와 같은 편각인 상태의 유속측정은 검토하지 않았다. 이와 같은 사용자의 요구에 대하여 한국수자원공사에서는 홍수기 유량측정시의 사용자 편의성을 증대하기 위하여 성능개선 작업에 착수하여 편각측정용 전자파표면유속계를 개발하였다. 편각측정의 주된 목적은 전자파표면유속계를 모든 측선에 설치하지 않고 한 지점에서 편각(oblique angle)으로 여러 측선의 유속을 측정함으로써 유속측정의 효율성을 증대시키는 것이다. 전자파표면 유속계에서의 편각 측정은 하천의 유속 방향을 기준으로 정면에서 측정하면 수평 편각이 0도가 되며 좌우로 안테나를 회전하여 움직인 각도가 측정 편각으로 결정된다. 전자파의 물리적 특성 때문에 편각이 증가하면 반사된 신호의 수신 크기가 감소하여 측정이 불가능하게 된다. 이러한 문제를 최대한 극복하는 것이 본 연구의 중점 개선사항이다. 이를 통하여 전자파표면유속계를 교량의 임의 지점에 설치하여 좌우로 편각 $20^{\circ}$에 이르는 범위의 유속을 측정하고자 목표로 하였다. 홍수시의 현장 측정 환경은 열악하기 때문에 정확한 측정을 조건으로 측정자에게 최대한의 편리함과 신속한 측정 환경을 제공해야 효과적인 업무수행이 가능하다. 이러한 편각 측정을 가능토록 하기 위해서는 유속측정시 송신되는 전자파의 출력을 기존의 시스템보다 보다 높게 발사하여야 하며 안테나의 수신감도 및 지향성이 개선되어야 한다. 이를 위해서 안테나 형태에 있어 기존 전자파표면유속계와의 차이점은 기존안테나는 파라볼릭 형상이었으나 신규 제작된 안테나는 평면안테나로 이러한 형태의 개선를 통해 안테나 특성 및 구조적인 차이를 유도하였다. 두 가지 안테나 사양 각각 장단점이 있으나 가장 큰 차이점은 빔폭 특성에서 평면 안테나가 우수하며 수신 감도를 향상시킬 수 있다는 강점이 있다. 특히 Tx/Rx 분리의 평면안테나 구조는 파라볼릭 안테나에서 불가능한 기능으로서 편각측정으로 인한 수신감도의 저하의 문제를 해결하기 위한 개선조치이었다. 성능개선 제작된 편각측정용 전자파표면유속계를 이용하여 일반하천의 홍수유속에 대한 편각측정 실험을 안성천에서 실시한 결과 유속 약 1.7 m/s 인 상황에서 편각 $20\;^{\circ}$ 까지 편각 $0\;^{\circ}$일때와 유사한 측정 성능을 보였다.

  • Image-based traffic information collection systems have entered widespread adoption and use in many countries since these systems are not only capable of replacing existing loop-based detectors which have limitations in management and administration, but are also capable of providing and managing a wide variety of traffic related information. In addition, these systems are expanding rapidly in terms of purpose and scope of use. Currently, the utilization of image processing technology in the field of traffic accident management is limited to installing surveillance cameras on locations where traffic accidents are expected to occur and digitalizing of recorded data. Accurately recording the sequence of situations around a traffic accident in a freeway and then objectively and clearly analyzing how such accident occurred is more urgent and important than anything else in resolving a traffic accident. Therefore, in this research, existing technologies, this freeway attribute, velocity changes, volume changes, occupancy changes reflect judge the primary. Furthermore, We pointed out by many past researches while presenting and implementing an active and environmentally adaptive methodology capable of effectively reducing false detection situations which frequently occur even with the Gaussian Mixture model analytical method which has been considered the best among well-known environmental obstacle reduction methods. Therefore, in this way, the accident was the final decision. Also, environmental factors occur frequently, and with the index finger situations, effectively reducing that can actively and environmentally adaptive techniques through accident final judgment. This implementation of the evaluate performance of the experiment road of 12 incidents in simulated and the jang-hang IC's real-time accident experiment. As a result, the do well detection 93.33%, false alarm 6.7% as showed high reliability.

The Flow Control by a Horizontal Splitter Plate for a Square Prism near a Wall (벽면에 근처에 놓인 정방형주의 수평 분리판에 의한 유동 제어)

  • The passive control of fluid force acting on a square prism near a plane wall was studied by attaching horizontal splitter plate on the corner of the prism. The width of the splitter plate was 10% of the square width. The experiments were performed by measuring of fluid force on the prism and by visualization of the flow field using PIV. The experimental parameters were the attaching position and the space ratios G/B between the prism and wall. The flow between the prism and wall was remarkable and Karman vortex in the wake of the prism was considerable in the space ratio over 0.4. The point of inflection of average lift coefficient and Strouhal number on the prism were represented at the space ratio G/B=0.4 for the prototype prism and G/B=0.6 for the prism having horizontal splitter plate. The drag of the prism was reduced average 4.5% with the space ratios by attaching the horizontal splitter plate at the rear and lower corner on the prism. In this case, the size of the separated region on the upside of the prism was smaller than that of prism without the splitter plate.

  • Transformation towards multicultural society requires discussion on new concepts of citizenship which would overcome some limits of national citizenship developed on the basis of the nation-state. Citizenship can be defined as a relationship between individuals and their community, and conceptualized in a relation with identity. Citizenship also includes its spatial elements such as site and movement, place and public/private space, boundary and territory, flow and network, level and scale, etc. and in particular implies a multi-scalability of local, national, and global level. A new discussion on citizenship has emerged in Japan in shift to multicultural society, especially focusing on activities of local governments and grassroots social movements to support and ensure welfare services to and human rights of foreign immigrants in local communities, hence develops a concept of local citizenship. This concept seems to be highly significant for both foreign immigrants and Japanese dwellers for multicultural coexistence, but raises serious problems of separating local citizenship from formal national citizenship and from universal global citizenship. In order to resolve these problems, a new multiscalar concept of glocal citizenship which links interrelationally local, national and global citizenship. The concept of glocal citizenship is suggested to lead academically a new version of cosmopolitanism which embraces the universal and the particular in a dialectic manner, and to give strategically an alternative to multicultural coexistence policy and discourse and local citizenship discussion in Japan.

Open Channel Characteristics on Different Land Cover for Neponset River, Boston, MA (상이한 토지이용에서 나타나는 하천의 특성에 관한 연구 : 메사추세츠 보스턴의 네폰셋강의 사례연구)

  • The study examines two different sites to analyze the difference of stream channel profile between two different landuse areas on Neponset River, Boston, MA. Landuse represents the current status of land in terms of human, agricultural or forest, industry and environmental activity types. According to the previous research, forest and urban area are significantly distinguished in chemical characteristic, shape and bed load of the stream. On the chosen sites, I look at the cross-section profile, the slope, velocity, and roughness of the channels. With the data collected at the site I determined the value for the channel bed material using Manning's equation, and compared with the result of HEC-RAS model with the cross-section profile data I measured. In the forest area, water surface elevation and bed material obtained through Manning's equation are very close to HEC-RAS model result. However, in the resident area the Manning's 'n' value calculated much higher than assumption which was considered as cobble whose 'n' value is 0.03-0.06. The difference could be caused by unusual steep elevation on the site and the dam present down further. With the steep elevation upside of dam, there is critical-depth condition occurs. The difference of Manning's 'n' value reflects the difference of depth. HEC-RAS model was run to analyze the difference and the result shows that depth is 0.36 much less than 0.688 what I computed when the Manning's n value is 0.03(cobble) instead of the result of the study (0.13292). Beside, dam is a major source of fragmentation and degradation of stream, and it's possibly inferred upstream water levels are increased and stream velocity is decreased. This study is meaningful for introduction of HEC-RAS in geography field to analyze different sites with channel bed material, and it is going to be used more actively to manage river and river side.

Flow analysis of the Sump Pump (흡수정의 유동해석)

  • sump pump is a system that draws in water that is stored in a dam or reservoir. They are used to pump large amounts of water for cooling systems in large power plants, such as thermal and nuclear plants. However, if the flow and sump pump ratio are small, the flow rate increases around the inlet port. This causes a turbulent vortex or swirl flows. The turbulent flow reduces the performance and can cause failure. Various methods have been devised to solve the problem, but a correct solution has not been found for low water level. The most efficient solution is to install an anti-vortex device (AVD) or increase the length of the sump inlet, which makes the flow uniform. This paper presents a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of the flow characteristics in a sump pump for different sump inlet lengths and AVD types. Modeling was performed in three stages based on the pump intake, sump, and pump. For accurate analysis, the grid was made denser in the intake part, and the grid for the sump pump and AVD were also dense. 1.2-1.5 million grid elements were generated using ANSYS ICEM-CFD 14.5 with a mixture of tetra and prism elements. The analysis was done using the SST turbulence model of ANSYS CFX14.5, a commercial CFD program. The conditions were as follows: H.W.L 6.0 m, L.W.L 3.5, Qmax 4.000 kg/s, Qavg 3.500 kg/s Qmin 2.500 kg/s. The results of analysis by the vertex angle and velocity distribution are as follows. A sump pump with an Ext E-type AVD was accepted at a high water level. However, further studies are needed for a low water level using the Ext E-type AVD as a base.

Coupled simulation of grid-based fluid and mass-spring based deformation/fracture (질점-용수철 기반변형/파괴 물체와 격자 기반 유체의 상호작용 시뮬레이션 기술)

  • This paper proposes a novel method that couples fluid and deformation/fracture. Our method considers two interaction types: fluid-object interaction and fluid-fluid interaction. In fluid-fluid interaction, we simulate water and smoke separately and blend their velocities in the intersecting region depend on their densities. Our method separates projection process into two steps for each of water and smoke. This reduces the number of grid cells required for projection in order to optimize the number of iterations for convergence and improve stability of the simulation. In water projection step, smoke region regarded as the cells with Dirichlet boundary condition. The smoke projection step solves water region with Neumann boundary condition. To take care of fluid-object interaction, we make use of the fluid pressure to update velocities of the each of the mass points so that the object can deform or fracture. Although our method doesn't provide physically accurate results, the various examples show that our method generate appealing visuals with good performance.

Decomposition of Shear Resistance Components in Reinforced Concrete Beams (철근콘크리트 보의 전단저항 성분 분해)

  • The objective of the present study is to verify the validity of a new truss model for evaluating the contribution by arch action to shear resistance in shear-critical reinforced concrete beams. The new truss model is based on the relationship between shear and bending moment in a beam subjected to combined shear and bending. The compatibility condition of the shear deformation that deviates from Bernoulli bending plane is formulated utilizing the smeared truss idealization with an inclined compression chord. The Modified Compression Filed Theory is employed to calculate the shear deformation of the web, and the relative axial displacements of the compression and the tension chord by the shear flow are also calculated. From this shear compatibility condition in a beam, the shear contribution by the arch action is numerically decoupled. Then the validity of the model is examined by applying the model to some selected test beams in literatures. On the basis of the analytical results, the contribution by the web to shear resistance can be constant and have an excellent linear correlation with the web reinforcement ratio. The present decoupling approach may provide a simple way for the assessment of the role of each parameter or mechanism that affects the ultimate shear behavior of reinforced concrete beams.

A Bottleneck Search Algorithm for Digraph Using Maximum Adjacency Merging Method (최대 인접 병합 방법을 적용한 방향 그래프의 병목지점 탐색 알고리즘)

  • Given digraph network $D=(N,A),n{\in}N,a=c(u,v){\in}A$ with source s and sink t, the maximum flow from s to t is determined by cut (S, T) that splits N to $s{\in}S$ and $t{\in}T$ disjoint sets with minimum cut value. The Ford-Fulkerson (F-F) algorithm with time complexity $O(NA^2)$ has been well known to this problem. The F-F algorithm finds all possible augmenting paths from s to t with residual capacity arcs and determines bottleneck arc that has a minimum residual capacity among the paths. After completion of algorithm, you should be determine the minimum cut by combination of bottleneck arcs. This paper suggests maximum adjacency merging and compute cut value method is called by MA-merging algorithm. We start the initial value to S={s}, T={t}, Then we select the maximum capacity $_{max}c(u,v)$ in the graph and merge to adjacent set S or T. Finally, we compute cut value of S or T. This algorithm runs n-1 times. We experiment Ford-Fulkerson and MA-merging algorithm for various 8 digraph. As a results, MA-merging algorithm can be finds minimum cut during the n-1 running times with time complexity O(N).
